🌀 Addisson’s POV 🌀

I came down from the car and I looked around
Then I saw James and Ethan, I smiled and walked towards them

Wow, could Ethan get any cuter, this guy is madly cute

I walked up to them

“Hey” I said

“Addy you made it” James said and I smiled

“Ethan” I called cause he looked lost

“Umm……hey” he said “you look great tonight” Ethan said and I blushed

We walked around and found an empty table and we sat on it

We talked and laughed about different things but I still couldn’t keep my eyes off Ethan

Gosh, what am I feeling for this guy

Hours later, the party came to an end and I stood up to leave

“Bye James” I said

“Bye” he replied

I looked at Ethan and gave him a peck on the cheek

“Till tomorrow Ethan” I said and quickly left

Geez why’s my heart so fast

🌀 Ethan’s POV 🌀

I stood transfixed and as Addisson pecked me on the cheek and left

“You are very lucky man, you’ve got the two hottest girl in class on your tail” James said and I looked at him

“What do you mean?”

“Isn’t it obvious, Addy loves you too” he said

“I…..I don’t know man, you know what, I gotta go home, Sophie’s home alone” I said and quickly left

If I stay there longer, James gonna keep talking about how he thinks Jade and Addisson loves me

I slowly walked home as my thoughts wandered around

What’s going on with me

Does Jade really love

Does Addisson really love me

Do I love any of them???

I got home and entered the sitting room and met Dad and I greeted him

“Do you know where Josh went?, He hasn’t been at home since yesterday” he asked

“No Dad” I replied

“Where’s Sophie?” I asked

“She’s asleep” he replied

“Okay”

I went to my room, took a towel and went to the bathroom for a bath

I came back to my room after bathing and I sat on the bed

Gosh, am so tired

Today passed by fast, I went to school and we had the usual classroom

I had lunch with James and now am back at home after school

I change into a casual wear and soon the driver came and we went off to Jade’s house

I met Jade studying her books in the sitting room and I smiled

This girl is really changing

“Hey” she said as I sat down beside her

“Where’s your Mom?” I asked

“She’s not at home, she went for a meeting at the office” she said and I nodded

I looked at her and noticed her hair was packed in a ponytail as usual

“Why do you always pack up your hair in that style” I asked

“I don’t know, I just like it like that, it doesn’t look good?” She asked

🌀 Jade’s POV 🌀

Ethan didn’t say anything, he just continued staring at me and then he moved closer to me

My breathing increased

He brought his face closer to mine and his hands slowly went to my back and removed my hair band, and my hair fell on my shoulders

“I think you look more pretty like this” he said and moved back

I couldn’t stop staring at him as my heart kept beating fast

Does this boy knows what he’s doing to me

Does he know how he’s making me feel

“Let’s start” he said and brought his attention to the book

He started the lesson and my heart calmed down a bit

Though it occasionally skipped a beat whenever our hands mistakenly touch

The lesson soon finished and I felt like begging him not to leave yet

“I’ll be going now Jade” he said and I nodded

“You should do some revision while your Mom is still away” he said with a smile

“Okay” I replied

He got in the car and the driver drove off

🌀 Ethan’s POV 🌀

Gosh, why did I even do that; I thought as the driver drove

What is wrong with you nowadays Ethan

But I couldn’t stop smiling as I remembered the look on her face the moment I removed the band from her hair

But God, her hair was so soft and silky

Control yourself Ethan; a voice said in my head and I sighed

What is wrong with me

Last night it was Addy and now Jade

You really have a problem Ethan, you need help

The driver stopped in front of my house

I came down from the car and he drove off

I opened the door and entered the sitting room

I met Sophie in tears and I rushed to her

“What’s wrong Sophie, where’s Dad?” I asked

“He went to the police station” she replied sobbing

“Station?, Why?” I asked

“Josh has been arrested for drug trafficking” she said amidst tears

“What!!!”

🌀 Ethan’s POV 🌀

I quickly took out my phone and called Dad and he told the me the station Josh is

“Sophie, you’ve got to stop crying okay, go to bed, we’ll go see Josh together tomorrow” I said

“But I want to go with you now” she said

“It’s already late dear, we’ll go together tomorrow, I promise” I said and she nodded

She went of to her room and I quickly ran out of the house and boarded a cab to the police station

The cab stopped in front of the station, I paid the driver and he drove off

I walked into the station and saw Dad so I walked up to him

“What happened Dad?” I asked “Is Josh really involved in drugs?”

“I got a call from the station this evening, he was caught with a bag filled with drugs” Dad said and my throat immediately became dry

“Drug trafficking is a big offense Ethan, I’ve been waiting for the Sheriff, he’s not around yet” he said as he sat down on a nearby seat and I sat beside him

“Can we see him” I asked

“The officers said the Sheriff has to be here first” he said and I nodded

Oh Josh, why?, Why does it have to be drug trafficking, why?

Minutes later, the Sheriff came in and we followed him to his office

“You can sit Mr Smith” the Sheriff said and Dad and I sat down

“Your son was caught by the NDDS officers (Narcotic and Dangerous Drugs Section) in an airport with a bag full of heroin” the Sheriff said and my heart sank

Heroin?

“He will be taken to court by next week for a chance to defend himself but that won’t be of much help since he was caught red-handed and he doesn’t have any defense” the Sheriff said

“Can we see him?” Dad asked

“Of course, lemme take you there” the Sheriff said and stood up, Dad and I followed him

He took us to a room with chairs and table

He called one of the officers to bring Josh

Moments later, Josh was brought into the room with his hands cuffed

He sat down looking in front of Dad and I and he really looked pale

“You have 10 minutes” the Sheriff said and went out of the room

“I knew the moment you came back that you were definitely gonna cause trouble, are you happy now? Giving up studying for drugs look where it landed you, am so dissapointed in you Josh, from now on, I don’t consider you as my son” Dad said and left the room

“Dad, Dad!!” Josh called but Dad didn’t even look back

“Am really dissapointed too Josh, why, why on Earth would you go into drugs, now you’ve brought more troubles to our family” I said as a tear streamed down my face

“Ethan, you’ve got to be believe me, am not into drugs, that bag didn’t contain drugs when I took it, I was framed Ethan” Josh said and I was shocked

“Framed?!” I asked

“Yes Ethan, I know I was wrong for leaving school but am really not good with books, not like you Ethan so I decided to find something doing rather than wasting my time in college” he said and paused a bit as a tear rolled down from his eyes

“A friend of mine” he continued “his name’s Mason, he introduced me to a business where we just deliver stuffs to different places, sometimes even outside the country…”

“So he framed you, were you that dumb Josh, you didn’t suspect that that you were delivering drugs around?” I asked

“Am not that dumb Ethan, I did suspected him and I usually checked whatever am given to deliver to places and it just turned out to be normal products so I trusted them and stopped checking after some time”

“You…..” I don’t even know what to say

“You’ve got to help Ethan, I didn’t know the bag contained drugs, I was framed by Mason please Ethan you have to believe me” he said

The door opened and an officer came in

“Time’s up, you have to go now” the officer said

I slowly stood up from my seat “I’ll come with Sophie tomorrow” I said as I began to walk out

“Please Ethan, help me prove that am innocent, trust me am telling you the truth, I’ll never go into drugs cause I know Mom would totally be against it and I don’t want to let her down even if she’s dead”

I stopped in my track the moment Josh mentioned Mom, tears rolled down my face

Mom would have believed Josh if she were here

I miss you so much Mom, life hasn’t been the same ever since you left us

I walked slowly out of the station

It was really dark but I didn’t care, I just walked home slowly

I walked into the house and met no one in the sitting room

I went to my room and laid on the bed

“Mom, what should I do now?” I said aloud as I broke into tears and cried myself to sleep

“Ethan, wake up”

I slowly opened my eyes to see Sophie by my side

I feel so weak, I can barely move myself

“What’s wrong Ethan, you are burning hot” Sophie said as she placed a hand on my forehead

“Am fine” I said as I managed to stand up

“Where’s Dad?” I asked

“He went to work really early today” Sophie said and I nodded

“Can we still go and meet Josh today?” She asked and I felt a bang on my head the moment she mentioned Josh

“Yes Sophie, go and get dressed” I said and she quickly ran out of the room to get dressed

Help me God, what should I do, what if Josh is really innocent like he said, how am I ever going to prove his innocence

Minutes later, Sophie came back to the room all dressed and I told her to wait for in the sitting room

I took my towel, went to the bathroom, brushed and had a bath

I came back to my room and I wore the first cloth my eyes laid on in the wardrobe

I walked to the sitting room and I left the house with Sophie

🌀 James POV 🌀

It’s already time for break but Ethan isn’t in school

At first I thought he was just being late but Ethan has never been this late and he doesn’t miss school unless there’s a problem

I brought out my phone from my backpack and called him but he didn’t pick up

What’s going on?

“Why is Ethan not in school?” Someone asked and I looked up to see Jade

“I….” I couldn’t answer Jade as I was interrupted by Addy

“Where’s Ethan James” she asked as she walked up to me

“I don’t know guys, I don’t know why he isn’t in school today” I replied

“Is something wrong?” Addy asked

“The last time he missed school, he was framed for theft, I hope there’s no such problem now” Jade said

“Why are you suddenly so concerned about Ethan, want to bully him again?” Addy asked Jade

“Just shut up Addy, Ethan is my friend now” Jade replied

“What!!, Since when did you start making friends with people below your status” Addy asked

“That’s none of…” Jade was talking but I interrupted her

“Enough girls, you both claim to care about Ethan but instead of thinking of what happened and why he isn’t in school both of you are at each other’s neck” I said raising my voice

“If you guys are so concerned about Ethan, meet me outside the school gate after school, we’ll go his house to check on him” I said and walked out of the class

🌀 Ethan’s POV 🌀

I sat still as Sophie ran to hug Josh as he was being brought into the room

“I’ve missed you Josh” Sophie said

“I’ve missed you too Sophie” Josh replied

“You didn’t do it right?, I know you’ll never get into drugs right?” Sophie asked in tears

“You are right Sophie, am not into drugs” Josh said

I couldn’t hold it anymore and I ran out of the room, out of the station and sat on the bench outside

My head was throbbing and I couldn’t stop the tears running down my face

Even Sophie believe that Josh can’t be into drugs

He might be innocent

But how, how am I going to prove his innocence

I walked back into the station minutes later and they were still in the room

I walked in and sat down beside Sophie

“What should we cook for you tomorrow?” Sophie asked Josh

“Anything” Josh said and Sophie nodded

We stood up to leave but Josh called and I looked back

“Ethan, do you believe me?” Josh asked

“I believe you Josh” I said and I hugged him “how can I not believe my own brother”

“Thanks little brother” Josh said and I let the tears flow on hearing him call me little brother

“I’ll come tomorrow morning and we’ll talk about how to prove your innocence” I said and he nodded

Sophie and I walked out of the station and boarded a cab for home

We walked into the house and Sophie sat on one of the chairs while I went to my room

I slumped down on the bed

Gosh, my head is throbbing

🌀 James POV 🌀

I waited outside the gate and soon, Jade and Addy came and we stopped a cab to Ethan’s house

We reached Ethan’s house and I opened the door

“Sophie” I called and she looked at me

She was the only one in the sitting room

“Why didn’t Ethan come to school today?” I asked

She looked at me with tears in her eyes

“Josh was arrested for drug trafficking but he didn’t do it James, am sure he didn’t do it” she said in tears and both Jade and Addy went to her and hugged her

“Ethan has been sick since morning, his temperature was really high, am sure it’s because of Josh being arrested” Sophie said

“Where’s he?” I asked

“In his room” she replied

Addy and Jade followed me and we went to Ethan’s room

I opened the door and he was laying on his bed

He looked up and saw us but he didn’t say anything

He’s eyes was red, he must have been crying

I walked towards him and sat beside him on the bed while Jade and Addy remained standing

“What’s up bro” I said

“Josh has been arrested” he said and I nodded

“Yeah, Sophie told us”

“He’s innocent James, he was framed” he said as tears started forming in his eyes

“Then we’ll prove his innocence Ethan, we’ll prove it together” I said as I hugged him and he broke into tears

He must be in lots of pain right now
