🌀 James POV 🌀
I stood up from my seat and went out of the class to my locker
I took my backpack, hanged it on my shoulder then went back to the class
I should find Jade, Addy and Ethan, we’ve got to celebrate today
I got to the class but I couldn’t find any of them
Where are they?
Maybe they are in the empty classroom we used for our readings
I went to the classroom and met Ethan
He was sitting on a chair and he looked sad and confused
“What’s wrong bro?” I asked
“Jade and Addisson confessed their feelings for me today, they both love me James and am so confused right now” he said
“Wow bro, you are lucky man” I said
“What?!”
“The two hottest girls in school just proposed to you, that’s like winning a lottery bro”
“You are crazy James” Ethan said
“You know what? Just give yourself time, am sure your heart will definitely choose one” I said
“I’ve already given myself lots of time James, it’s not working” he said
“Or spend time with each of them, let’s see who makes your heart waver the most” I said and he nodded
“Come on, let’s hang out at my place, you can’t be all moody, today’s supposed to be a happy day”
He stood up and we went to his locker and took his backpack
We walked to the school gate
“We’re are you guys going?” The gate man asked
“We just finished our exams, there’s nothing more for us to do and we are allowed to go home” I said
He looked at me suspiciously and then opened the gate
We walked to the bus stop and waited for the bus to come along
The bus came and we entered
We got down on the first bus stop and we walked to my house
“Mom!” I called immediately we walked into the sitting room
“You are back already” she said as she walked out of the kitchen wearing an apron
“Yes Mom” I said
“Good morning ma’am” Ethan greeted
“Ethan, how was your exams” Mom asked with a smile
“It was fine” Ethan replied
“You guys can go upstairs when the food is ready I’ll send a maid to call you” she said
“Okay Mom” I said
She went back to the kitchen while Ethan and I climbed up the stairs
“Do you wanna play a video game?” I asked
“Of course, Josh and I used to play lots of video games while he was still in highschool” Ethan said
“Then lemme take you to my game room” I said with a smile
🌀 Ethan’s POV 🌀
We walked towards a room and James opened the door
“Welcome to my game room” he said and I walked in
“Wow, this is amazing” I said
“And guess what?”
“What?” I asked
“Whats the last version of PS that has been released?” He asked
“PS4” I said
He smiled, went to a shelf in room and brought out a big package
“I present to you PS5” he said
“Woah!!!” I exclaimed “I heard it isn’t gonna be released till the ending of the year, how did you get it?”
“One of dad’s friend works in the producing company and I just asked in a favor” he said “wanna play”
“Hell yeah” I said
He set up the game and we started to play
Minutes later, a maid came in
“Your food is ready” the maid said
“Just keep it, tell Mom we aren’t eating now” James said
The maid left and we continued playing the game
Moments later, James Mom shouted from downstairs
“Am going out James, make sure you eat your food before it gets cold”
“Yes Mom!” James yelled
We continued playing the game for hours before we finally decided to go and eat
“Prom is next week Ethan, who’s gonna be your prom date?” James asked while we were eating
“I don’t know man, what about you?”
“I don’t know too man, I really don’t know” he said
We finished eating and we went to the sitting room and started watching a movie
We finished the movie and it was already late so I went home
On reaching home, I went straight to my room and laid on the bed
Today was fun
My phone beeped, there was a message from Addisson
💬 Good evening Ethan, I just got invited to a party that will hold tomorrow night, can you accompany me please?💬
I sighed as I saw the message, I just remembered everything that in the morning
Should I just go for Addisson?
💬 Okay no problem 💬
I texted back
Few minutes later, she texted back
💬 Thanks, I’ll have come to pick you up but am really busy with the preparation of our prom night so can you please come to the school gate by 6 tomorrow?, We’ll go to the party from there 💬

“Ethan”
I slowly looked up to see Josh dressing up
“Aren’t you going to school?” He asked
“No, am just gonna rest at home today, I’ve finished my exams after all” I replied
“Okay then, am off to work” he said and left the room
I glanced at my phone, I talked with Addisson yesterday but I’ve not spoken with Jade since yesterday morning
The door to my room opened and Sophie came in
“Am going to school Ethan” she said
“Okay, what about Dad?” I asked
“He has already gone off to work” she replied
“Okay, bye” I said and she left
I guess am the only one at home now
I stood up, went to the bathroom, brushed and took a bath
I dressed in a casual wear and went to the sitting room
I heard a knock on the door and I went to open it
It was James
“What’s up bro” he said
He came in and sat with me on the chair
“Addisson texted me yesterday” I said
“What did she say?” he asked and I showed him the texts
“Wow, she’s asking you on a date man” he exclaimed
“That’s not a date, am just accompanying her to a party”
“Yeah, you are accompanying her as her date” James said and I scoffed
Is this really a date?
“Dad said I should go to Harvard for my college” James said
“You are lucky James, Harvard is a great school” I said
“Yeah but they only accept A students Ethan, your grades must be more than 4.0” he said looking worried
“I don’t think you have any problem with that, you are an A-student afterall”
“I know, am just nervous, what if i don’t make A this time around” he asked
“Come on, you will, we all read hærd for the exams remember” I said
“I hope so. Do you have any college in mind that you wanna go?” He asked
“Not really, I haven’t actually taught about it” I replied
“Come to Harvard with me Ethan, please” he pleaded trying to make a cute face
“Stop making that face James, it’s disgusting” I said and he laughed
“But am really serious Ethan, am sure you’ll do great in Harvard” he said
“Probably but what about tuition, my Dad can’t afford their tuition fee”
“You don’t have to worry about the tuition, every year, RHS chooses the school valedictorian from the graduating students and whoever is chosen gets a sponsorsh¡p from the school to any college of your choice”
“So how sure are you sure that am gonna be the valedictorian this time?” I asked
“Come on Ethan, you are the best student in class and the best student is always the valedictorian” he said and I smiled
“I hope so”
“So if you are chosen as the valedictorian, you’ll come to Harvard right?” James asked
“I don’t know”
“Come on please”
“Maybe I’ll come” I said
“Just say you’ll come Ethan”
“Fine, I’ll come” I said
“Yes!!” He exclaimed bumping a fist in the air
We hanged out for the rest of the day and soon it was almost 6pm
“You should start getting ready Ethan, it’s almost 6” James said
I stood up and went to the bathroom to take a bath
I went to my room, got dressed and walked to the sitting room
“Where are you going Ethan?” Sophie asked
“Addisson invited me to a party” I replied
“So am gonna stay home alone again?” She asked
“Don’t worry Sophie, I’ll stay with you till Josh comes back” James said
“Thanks” Sophie replied
I walked out of the house and James followed me
“Have fun Ethan and try know if you really love her this time around” James said with a smirk and I scoffed
I started walking to the bus stop but James stopped me
“Are you seriously taking the bus, you are already late, just take a cab and don’t keep the pretty girl waiting” James said and chuckled
I stopped a cab and entered while James went back to the house
The driver drove towards the school and I could sight Addy standing in front of the school gate
My phone beeped and a message came in
I opened the message and saw different pictures of Jade, her hands were tied at her back and there was a rope round her neck tied to something above but her leg was supported by a stool
💬 Come alone to the crossroad Downtown in the next 15 minutes or I’ll take off the stool supporting Jade’s leg and she will die 💬
What!!!
“Turn around!!” I yelled at the driver

🌀 Addisson’s POV 🌀
I waited outside the gate as the time passed by
Where is Ethan?
I looked at my wristwatch, it’s almost 7
I tried calling him but it was switched off
Then I decided to call James and he picked up
“Where is Ethan?” I asked
“Shouldn’t he be with you, he took the cab to the school more than 20 minutes ago” he said
“But he’s not here James, I’ve been waiting outside the school gate but he’s not here, I’ve also tried calling him but his phone is switched off” I said
Am starting to get worried
“Wait for me there, I’ll come right away” James said and ended the call
🌀 Ethan’s POV 🌀
The driver stopped at the crossroad and I came down
I paid him and he drove off
I hope nothing happens to Jade
My phone ranged, it was an unknown number and I answered it
“Switch off your phone and drop your it in the trashcan by your left, then come in,side the building, and don’t try anything tricky Ethan or you’re gonna loose Jade” the voice said and ended the call
I walked towards the building, switched off my phone and dropped it in the trashcan
I opened the door and went in,side the building
It was dark and I could barely see anything
Then the lights were switched on everywhere became bright
It was a big empty room and Jade was right in front of me, with a rope round her neck
“Ethan!” She called “you shouldn’t have come he’s gonna kill both of us”
“Hello Ethan” a voice said behind me and I turned to see who it was
“Cole!!” I was dumbfounded
“Yes Ethan, did you really think both of you will ruin my life and I wouldn’t take revenge?” Cole asked with a smirk
“Let Ethan go Cole, I was the one that turned you in, he has nothing to do with this” Jade said
“Shut the f-ck up Jade or I’ll shut you up myself” Cole yelled
🌀 Jade’s POV 🌀
“We were such a good couple Jade and I really loved you but you left me because of this jerk” Cole said
“Come with me Ethan” Cole said and they both walked towards me
“First, I need a strand of your hair and don’t make me repeat myself” Cole said and Ethan yanked off some strands of his hair and gave him
“Now touch her” he said
“What!” Ethan and I said surprised
“I said touch her Ethan and don’t make me repeat myself or she’ll be dead in the next minute” Cole said and Ethan quickly touched my hands that was tied at my back
“It’s gonna be alright Jade” he said
“Actually, it’s gonna be opposite of that” Cole said “Jade’s gonna die Ethan, and you’re gonna be responsible for it”
“What!!” I exclaimed
“Am gonna kick away that stool supporting you Jade and you’ll die then I’ll put Ethan’s hair all around you. I’ve already uploaded your pictures on the media that you are kidnapped so the police will find your dead body. They’ll definitely perform a DNA a test on you and everything around you and the result is gonna show our dear Ethan” he said and laughed
“Please don’t kill her, do whatever you want with me but don’t kill her” Ethan pleaded
“You guys ruined my life, now Jade is definitely gonna die and you will spend the rest of your life in prison” he said
He walked up to Ethan and hit him with a baseball bat he was carrying
“Noooo” I yelled
Ethan fell on the ground, his head was bleeding
“Oops, just felt like doing that” he said
He walked up to me and touched my cheek
“Goodbye Jade” he said and made to kick off the stool
“Wait wait please” Ethan said weakly
“What is it Ethan, want another hit?” Cole said
“Actually yeah, I had the impression that you are strong but you hit so weakly” Ethan said
“What are you saying Ethan?” I asked surprised
“Am just surprised that’s all, I never knew Cole is such a weakling” he said with a smile and managed to stand up
“How dare you!” Cole said angrily and walked towards Ethan
He hit him on the head again with the bat and Ethan fell on the ground
“Ethan!!!” I yelled
“Is that really all you can do” Ethan said with a smile
Why is he provoking Cole
Does he wanna die
Cole hit Ethan again with the bat but he didn’t stop this time, he continued hitting him
“Stop please, you are killing him” I cried but Cole didn’t stop, he continued hitting him hærd
“Cole just stop, I’ll do anything you want just stop it please, he’s gonna die if you continue” I cried again and he finally stopped
Ethan was really bleeding profusely now and I couldn’t stop crying
Cole walked up to me and wiped a tear from my face
“You really love him don’t you?” He asked and I kept quiet
“Well, I don’t care about that anymore, since you are just a few moments away from your death” Cole said and was about kicking the stool off my leg
“Wait” Ethan said weakly, I could barely hear him “please, it’s just one more minute, it remains just a minute, don’t kill…” He couldn’t complete his words as he began to cough out blood
What does he mean by one more minute?
Does he has some kind of plan?
Is that why he was provoking Cole, just to delay him and buy more time?
I guess I should play along then
“Save him Cole or he’s gonna die and there’ll be no one to take the blame for my death” I cried
“I don’t care, if he dies I can just make another plan and find someone else to take the blame” Cole said “and enough of the delay, it’s time for you to die Jade”
“Wait wait wait” I said and he stopped “why do you have to kill me Cole, you could just kill Ethan and take me somewhere where we could live our lives together”
“Do you really think am stupid Jade, the moment I take you out of here you are going to run away so enough of your trash talks” he said and was about kicking off the stool
I quickly closed my eyes, I don’t know what to say anymore, I guess this is the end
I love you Ethan
“FREEZE” I suddenly heard many voices say and I quickly opened my eyes
It’s the police
There were three police officers along with Josh, Ethan and Addy was with them
Cole quickly kicked off the stool and I was choking, my neck was tight and I couldn’t breath
James and Josh quickly ran up to me
James supported me while Josh untied me
The police were trying cuff Cole but he brought out a gun and pointed it at them
I didn’t care and I ran to meet Ethan, Addy was with him
“Ethan” I cried as I knelt beside
He slowly took his hand and touched my cheek
“Am glad you are okay” he said and his hand dropped and he suddenly became unconscious
“Bring an ambulance!!” I yelled
Addy quickly took her phone and call 911
Then I heard a gunshot
“Noooo!!!” I heard James yelled
