Chapter 29

“This is disastrous” Leo muttered at the sight of Steve.

“We should leave so has to avoid trouble at the party”Leo whispered to Khalid.

“No, I won’t leave because of him. We came here differently so no one would be leaving for each other. Unless he wanna leave for me”Khalid insisted without budging.

“What the heck! you are so dumb. I mean we should leave this place not the party”Leo tries to drag him but he jerks his hand.

“I won’t run for him, I am not a coward. I came to Nora’s party, so, I won’t be running for him. Jasmine was uneasy, listening to all this.

She prayed silently they should leave before Leo would see her. She knows is not going to be good for her. Her heart almost pumps out of her life.

“Let’s go ladies” Leo dragged Clara and Jasmine from there. Jasmine had relief.

Steve finally catch-up with Nora. She hugged him.

“Oh my goodness, you have grown up. That small Nora. I remembered you are the shortest girl in outclass, but we are now of the same height” Steve said poking fun at her.

“I know you won’t change. Khalid also said the same thing to me. You guys are the same. Steve sight Khalid standing with his hand on his fold on his back.

“Nora for how long will I wait. Are you going to keep me waiting or should I leave” Khalid said?

“You can leave if you wish, who those your present help?” Steve said walking closer to Khalid.

“Now I confirmed it. It was true that the two of you are now real enemies. But sorry you guy’s can’t be enemies being at my party. You will have to be pals. I am going to introduce you both to my fiance at the same time. So, please keep that hatred to yourselves. We can solve it after the party” Nora said coming in between them.

“Do you hear that, don’t create nuisance here? Behave like a real guy not some kind of coward. Only a coward will be scared. I know you are scared of seeing me, and this is just the beginning of your fear” Khalid asserted.

‘”You will be the last thing I would be scared of. Not in this world” Steve said in a hoarse voice.

“Guys come” Nora drag them from both hands.

Jasmine POV

It was such a narrow escape that I was rescued by Leo. I don’t know what could have happened by now.

This guy will have wrecked all my plans. I will have been excavated. I wonder what would have happened. This would have been a disaster.

“Jasmine I realized that you’ve been unsettled since Steve arrives. You didn’t bother to take a look at him”Leo asked with his eyes shallow on me.

I must say he wants an answer. Yes, an answer? All questions deserve an answer. What will I say? How will I put it? No, I just need to say something.

My eyes sparkle. As some words fled my l-ips. “Khalid told me about him in one of our conversations. I saw his picture, and I know that guy could be dangerous. So I was scared like you are”I lied and throw my face to the left side.

Lying is now a part of me. I have somewhat become an expert. But this would take me nowhere, but will rather cause trouble for me.

“This sounds untrue. You aren’t making some sense with what you just said. I couldn’t assimilate the fact that you were just scared because he told you about him. I know Khalid very well, he will never put the fear of a fellow human in someone. He’s fearless. So, what are you saying “Leo said.

This guy is a guru. He’s so smart to have figured I was lying. I need to do something. Even if it is to put up something.

“I don’t know him that’s the truth, and you are also scared so why are you making it a big issue that I was scared”I tried to turn it on him.

I am being cold just to save myself. If I had told Khalid the truth then I won’t have crossed all this interrogation.

“No, I wasn’t scared. I was just trying to avoid that guy’s trouble. He’s so dangerous. And I took the two of you from there because he might think you are Khalid’s lover and will do anything to snatch you from him. Even if it will cost him his last breath that’s how dangerous he could be.

You know I can leave Khalid alone. You both will stay here while I go to join them”Leo said.

“What’s happening here? You guys are keeping me in total darkness. Who was that guy and what was his mission? I mean why is everyone scared of him”Clara asked.

She is innocent of this. Leo didn’t even know I knew this guy’s more than he had just introduced him. I will just have to be careful with this one week. I will tell him everything afterward.

“One of Khalid’s old friends. But they aren’t on good phrases again” Leo said.

“I see”Clara nodded her head. ”

Girls I will be back soon. I need to join my friend” Leo said.

He was about to leave when we saw Khalid approach.

“HEY! Why are you so rebellious, aren’t you tired of getting into unnecessary arguments with guys” Leo asked.

“I think you should know by now that I am not a jobless fellow. And do you expect me to be fighting with him? That’s the last thing I will ever do” Khalid said.

“Is he still around?” I asked.

“No, I think he received an urgent call, something of such” Khalid said, and I heave a sigh of relief.

“I think we can now party peacefully,” Clara said.

Khalid mansion

Dason POV

I was chatting on my phone when I heard Evan’s voice. Who could she be talking to on the phone that she could be threatening so loudly? I need to know what’s going on. I pretended to be going to my room but tiptoed to her door. I think I had something.

“Steve or whatever you called yourself, stay away from Khalid and my son, and don’t try to claim Dan as your child. You rejected me when I was pregnant for you. So better stay away. I don’t want to know what happened between you guys in the past. All I am saying is stay away from us or you will regret your action” she said.

And keep quiet for a while. I guess the person on the other side is speaking. “Steve stays away, the child is now Khalid’s child. If you come closer I will kill you with my bare hands. Trust me, I won’t spare you” She threatened.

So Dan isn’t Khalid’s child. Oh my God! This woman is a witch. How can she do this to him? How could she be so heartless? I will have to tell Jasmine as soon as possible. But Khalid loves that boy so much. I am sure he will be hurt deep down.

I need to leave before she sees me here. She must not know I heard her. I quickly leave for my room.

I think I should call Jasmine to inform her. No, I won’t do that. I should wait for her to come back so I can tell her this in person.

Why is Khalid always in such a mess with ladies? Firstly he is looking for the lady that’s right under his roof and now the child he loves and cares so much about is no other than the stupid man’s son.

I wish I was able to tell him this. Why did he have to pass through this much?

Steve Mansion

Steve POV

“Sir we have found her”Chris my guard said showing me his phone. I zoomed the picture. “This couldn’t be true. He can’t be, how could she be with him?. How did they come across each other?”I said and stood on my feet.

My bones are being heated. What could the lady I am looking for be doing with him, so closed like this?.

“Do you see them together, I mean this closed? “I asked with a rave of immense anger. My heart burnt. I couldn’t withstand this. I won’t let this happen, he can never be with my future wife. Never Never” I shouted thunderously. I could feel the pillar of the building is shaken due to my noise.

“Sir should we get the car ready. Or what are you going to do now? Are you going to leave her to Khalid”Chris or whatever he answered asked? How dare he asked me such a silly question.

“How dare you” I thundered and hit his phone on the floor. They broke into pieces. He dashed out of the living room. This guy is at it again. He wanna take my lady again.

Authoress POV

“Jasmine this is the letter you asked me to construct. I must say she always did a great job. Is not easy to construct a rhythm”Khalid said stretching the envelope to her.

“I know it must not have been easy for you. But at least you tried. She would be so happy receiving this.”Jasmine said smiling.

“I am off, where’s Dason?”Khalid asked.

“Here I am, “Dason said from behind. “Common my boy” Jasmine said and hugged him.

“I am you father, not you boy,” He said jokingly.

” Bye” Jasmine bids then goodbye as she couldn’t wait to read what was in the letter. She wanna know how Khalid expresses his love.

She went to her room. The bed door rings as Khalid was about to open the door. He opened it and meet Steve standing right Infront of the door.

Dason also sees him try to hide his face.
“Where are you going Dason Chaz, my one and only future brother-in-law,” Steve said in a husky voice.

Dason couldn’t move non uttered a word, he knew their time is up. He glance at Khalid who was glaring at him. Some sudden sweat raise in his body.
