Jayden’s POV

“Where’s everyone?” I asked John as I walked into the Mansion

“They all went out” he replied

“Well go get them!!” I yelled and he ran off

I paced round the Mansion for awhile
Then I saw Landon and Brie coming towards the Mansion

“Where the hell have you two been?” I asked

“Working out in the woods, is there a problem? And where’s Bella and Luna?” Brie asked

“Andre was right, the demon wolf is still alive, the demon wolf is working with Audrey”

“What?!” Landon exclaimed

“A war is coming and all we can do is get ready for it Landon, I need you to gather all the grown up wolves and the rest of the warriors, training begins immediately”

“Yes Alpha” Landon ran off

I made to leave but Brie held my hand

“Where is Bella and Luna?” She asked

“Still at the hospital” I replied

“You left them there?”

“I had important things to do” I said

“But you just said it yourself, a war is coming and it’s not safe anymore, I don’t think it was a good idea to leave Bella and Luna alone in the hospital”

“They aren’t kids so am pretty sure they can take care theirselves without my help”

“Brother…..”

“I still have a lot of things to do” I said and walked into the Mansion

Bella’s POV
“Kilan! Kilan wait” I called as I tried to catch up with him

“Kilan!” I caught up with him and held his hand

“What is it Bella?” he asked

“I…..”

“If you are about to go on about the fact that I show no emotions then save the talk, I do not need to hear it” he said

“No Kilan, I just realized that maybe I was too judgemental towards you, I was just going to say am sorry for whatever you passed through but your bad days doesn’t have to define who you are Kilan neither should you let it decide who you’ll be. The world is not all gloomy and sad like you see it, there is happiness out there, you just need to go out and experience it” I said

“Happiness? I can’t remember what that feels like” he said

“Well I can remind you, let’s meet tomorrow and ….”

“I have lots of surgeries booked for tomorrow and even if I don’t, I won’t waste my time trying to achieve something as trivial and worthless as happiness” he said and walked away

Daisy’s POV
Luna sobbed and I cleaned her tears

“Come on Luna, stop this, your Mom isn’t going to die, where’s that strong girl that always took on the world head on?” I said

“That girl is gone Daisy, you’ve no idea what I’ve gone through, you’ve no idea what I’ve had to endure, I was trying to be strong but am not and now if Mom dies and leave me too, I’ll be broken” She cried

“It’s going to be okay Luna, you should look on the brighter side sometimes, your Mom is still breathing for now and you are happily married to a hotshot CEO so you’ll be fine in the end, I know that” I said and she shook her head

“You won’t understand” she said

“What won’t I understand?”

“Jayden and I we…..” she broke into tears again

“What’s going on Luna? Is something wrong between you and Jayden? Cause if that guy has hurt you, I promise I won’t spare him!”

“That’s it Daisy, there’s nothing you or anyone can do about my situation!!” she yelled “It’s like am cursed to a lifetime of torture!”

“Luna…..”

“I need some water” she said

“Okay, I’ll go get you water”
I left the room and got a bottled water from the vendor machine

I got back to the room but Luna was gone

“Luna” I called as I looked around
I looked for her but couldn’t find her

“Luna!!” I brought out my phone and called her and her phone rang right there in the room
She left her phone here

Bella walked in and looked around
“Hey Daisy, where’s Luna?” she asked

“That’s what am trying to find out, she was here a moment ago, then she asked for water, I went to go get it and I came back, she was gone”

“What do you mean she was gone?” Bella asked

“Well I couldn’t find her here” I replied

“Then call her”

“I already did but she left her phone right here” I said

“Maybe she just went out for a walk, let’s look around” Bella said and I nodded

Jayden’s POV
“I want you to join Landon in training the warriors, make sure to put some guards around all the vulnerable place round the woods, if this war is coming I’d like to know the direction it’s coming from before it gets to me”

“Okay Alpha” Andre said and walked out

“What do I do Alpha?” John asked

“You have being very useful, you have the will and potential John so we will continue with our training only this time around, expect a severe training from me but for now go join Landon and Andre and help out with the work”

“Yes Alpha” he bowed and left

“Bella just called” Brie walked in holding up her phone

“She asked if Luna was at home” she said

“Well tell her she isn’t” I said

“She’s nowhere to be found Jayden!” she yelled “They couldn’t find her in the hospital”

“Maybe she went for a walk or to visit someone, either way I don’t care, I have more important matters to attend to”

“Really? You aren’t even a bit worried about her?” Brie asked

“No am not”

“Bella told me that Luna was told that her Mom doesn’t have much longer to live, the poor girl is probably somewhere depressed and crying her eyes yet you don’t care?!!”

“Come on Brianna, am busy here” I said

“I expected you to understand her pain or have you forgotten how your Mom died too? No one is supposed to understand Luna’s pain more than you but have too much power made you into the very villan you killed to get to this position?”

“Brianna……”

“I really have no idea when you became this cold-hearted but let me tell you this, you better pray to the goddess that Luna should be alright, if anything happens to that innocent girl, you will have me to answer to” Brie said

“You should thank the goddess that you are my sister for no one talks to me like that and live to tell the tale, now if you are done, you may leave” I said
She scoffed and walked out angrily

Bella’s POV
“Did you find her?” I asked Daisy

“I’ve searched everywhere in the hospital, I couldn’t find her, what about you, any luck?” she asked

“None, I called home but she isn’t there either” I said

“Then where is she?!”

“Maybe she felt stuffy in the hospital and went out, does she have any friends or relations that she might have gone to meet? ” I asked

“Luna is a very simple girl, am the only friend she has and her Mom is her only family” she said

Where could she be?
Or could it be that…..

“What is going on Bella? Luna was definitely depressed, what has your family done to her?” Daisy asked

“I have to go Daisy, I promise Luna will be found” I said and ran off

Brie’s POV
“She’ll be fine Brie, am sure Luna is alright” Landon said but I continued pacing

“Bella is not answering my calls, I can’t just stay here, I should go look for her” I said and the door suddenly opened wide

“Where’s Jayden?” Bella asked as she walked in

“Bella” I called “Did you find Luna?”

“No I didn’t, we looked everywhere but we couldn’t find her, am beginning to think that this might have something to do with Audrey, what if Audrey took Luna to get back at Jayden?” Bella said

“No that can’t be” I said

“Its very much possible Brie, I know Audrey and she can be pretty crazy sometimes” Landon said

“So where the hell is Jayden?!” Bella asked

“Up…. upstairs” I said and Bella ran up the stairs and we followed her

“He’s not here” Bella said as we entered to meet an empty room

“He was here some minutes ago when I came to…..”

“What’s it Brianna?” Bella asked

“I guess our brother still have some shred of compassion within him, he went to find Luna”

“How sure are you? I clearly heard him yell at you when you mentioned Luna to him” Landon said

“He did yell yes and he also pretended not to care but have you guys forgotten the real Jayden? The Jayden we knew before all the betrayals and powers, I reminded him of his Mom, I guess that touched some compassion within him” I said

“Even if you are right and Jayden went to look for Luna, we still have to do something, I can’t just stay here like this, am going out to continue looking for her” Bella said and walked out

I made to leave too but Landon held me back

“Where are you going?” He asked

“You heard what Bella said, Audrey might have a hand in this so am going to her Pack’s territory to confront her”

“You can’t be serious, I won’t let you do something that dangerous” Landon said

“Well am not about to sit around here doing nothing”
I tried to leave but he grabbed my hand

“You can’t stop me Landon” I said

“It’s dangerous Brianna!! You….. you are still not strong enough and you know that”

“Well thank you for your concern but I can take care of myself” I jerked his off and walked out

I shapeshifted to my wolf form and soon I was in the River Moon Pack’s territory

“Who are you?” Some men asked pointing arrows at me and I shapeshifted back into my human form

“I request an audience with Audrey Castle” I said and they looked at each other

“And who are you?” They asked

“Brianna Ashford” I said

“Brianna” Someone called and I turned back to see Audrey

“Jayden’s sister, you must have a death wish coming here alone”

“Where’s Luna?” I asked

“Where’s who?”

“Luna, don’t feign innocence, I know you took her!” I yelled

“Oh you mean Jayden’s human mate? Is she missing?” She laughed “I guess this is my chance then, this is my chance to capture her, kill her and weaken Jayden”

“You….. you didn’t take her?” I asked

“I didn’t but that doesn’t make any difference now that I know she’s out there somewhere, all alone” she smiled

“I won’t let you hurt her” I said as I blocked her path

“Who said I’ll be going after her myself” she said and turned to her men “Gather some few more strong warriors, track this human girl down and when you find her, kill her”
She commanded and the men bowed and left

“Stop Audrey, do not hurt Luna” I said

“You absolutely are in no position to worry about Luna when you are about to get killed yourself” she said

“Not if I kill you first” I said and she laughed

“Do you think I do not know? The goddess gave you your mate early in life and you guys were bonded, but then he died in the battle that made Jayden the Alpha, so now, you are a weakling without your mate Brianna, wasn’t that why you ran away with Bella in the first place?” Audrey said

“You are right, I found my mate when I was just a teenager and we got bonded, he died yes but it’s been years Audrey, you wanna find out how weak or strong I am? Come at me and I’ll gladly show you!”

“Very well then, seems you are so eager to meet your death” she said as she made to attack….

Luna’s POV
I sat by the lakeside in the nightfall watching the moon as tears rolled down my face

Am tired of all this
I just want everything to disappear, everything
Jayden, Audrey, the rude doctor, I want everyone to disappear
Or maybe I should just disappear, that would be better, if I just disappear

“Luna” Someone called and I looked back to see Jayden

“What….. How did you know where to find me?” I asked

“You are still pathetic and weak and predictable” he said as he sat beside me by the lake
“It was obvious you’ll be here, this is where you and Leo always hang out back then and I am Leo remember?”

“I know why are you are here, I know you must be angry at me for running away from the hospital and I know what you are going to do so just get on with it, bite me, turn me to a werewolf and erase my memories, at least I’ll find some solace in forgetting everything” I said

“Am not going to turn you into a werewolf” he said

“Then are you going to kill me? Well get on with it, am not afraid of dying anymore”

“I heard about your Mom, that she doesn’t have much longer to live” he said

“So have you come to use her to threaten me again?” I asked

“No, am here to tell you how feeble and pathetic you are” he said and I nodded

“Just what I expected from a man like you”

“Your Mom is not dead yet, so why are you giving up so easily on her, she’s still breathing, you can spend all the energy you are wasting in being pathetic and hiding into finding a way for her to live” he said

“But….. ”

“The doctor said she has no chance of surviving, I know but she’s still breathing isn’t she? And I heard she can hear you now, I heard she was able to hear what you told her at the hospital, so if your mother is really dying, you still have a chance to say goodbye to her so do not waste it, not everyone gets a chance to bid their loved ones the final farewell” he said with a hint of pain in his voice

“Am…… am sorry” I said, not knowing what else to say

“Get up, go meet your Mom and stay with her, tell her everything you’ve always wanted to tell her, it’s not over until it’s over” he said and a memory flashed accross my head

” Why are you in tears Luna?” Leo ran to meet me looking concerned

“My pet dog Vee, I let it out yesterday and it hasn’t returned” I sobbed

“Then you shouldn’t be crying, we should go look for it” he said

“What if….. what if he’s dead Leo?”

“But you haven’t seen his dead body have you?” he asked and I shook my head

“That means he might still be alive and we can find him” he said

“But…..”

“Do not give up so easily Luna, it’s not over untill it’s over, so let’s go find Vee” he said as he held my hand

I stared at Jayden for a while and I managed to muster up a smile
Buried under all the hatred and ruthlessness, my innocent leo is still in there, somewhere…….
