Landon’s POV

We got back home and we met Bella pacing around the living room

“I’ve been trying to reach you guys but…..what happened to her?!!” She quickly rushed to meet us and we helped Brie sit on the couch

“What happened to you?” Bella asked again

“Got into a fight with Audrey and things got messy” Brie said

“What?! Audrey dared to touch you?!” Bella yelled

“Am fine Bella, nothing happened” Brie said

“But….”

“Nothing happened to me, I only fractured my ankle, and am already healing so there’s no need to worry, just help me to my room please” Brie said

“Landon can take you to your room, I need to go find that bitch and teach her a lesson” Bella said

“Landon will not help me up, you will!!” Brie yelled and Bella gave me a surprised look

“Did something happen between you two?” Bella asked

“My ankle isn’t fully healed so just help me up please Isabella” Brie said and Bella nodded

She helped her up and they slowly climbed up the stairs to Brie’s room

I sat on the couch and sighed
I shouldn’t have told her anything about my evil past
What was I expecting?
Am a monster and she hates me now

Jayden’s POV
“Mom was right” Luna said as she hugged me tighter “My guardian angel found me”

We remained like that for a moment then she suddenly seemed to realize what she just did and she quickly let go of me and jolted back

“Am….. am sorry” she said

“You ran away from the hospital and I found you, then we got attacked and I saved your life then you hid yourself away and I still found you, I get that all this series of events can make someone as weak as you loose your reasoning for a moment and am only letting you off because this is the first time, next time you get all touchy with me , you won’t go unpunished” I warned and she slowly nodded

“It’s very dark and we don’t know how many of those guys are out there, I think it’s best we stay here tonight, we’ll go home in the morning” I said and she nodded again

We sat in front of the cottage and things was silent for a while till Luna broke the silence, as usual

“You were looking for your Mom back then when you were still Leo, did you ever find her?”

“She found me” I replied

“I guess that was why I didn’t see you again when I came back looking for you” she said

“Did your mother ever tell you what happened? Why you suddenly lost your memories and all?” She asked and I sighed

“Can you ever be silent?” I asked

“Am scared, I need to continue to speak to distract myself from the nightmare I just experienced”

“Nightmare? What kind of nightmare did you experience when all you did was run and hide?!”

“I got an arrow shot at my face!” she said

“And I caught the arrow and saved you, then I removed a heart, ripped off an arm and snapped two necks to save you, don’t you think you should be a little bit grateful?”

“You are right, you saved my life, thank you” she said

“I do not need a thank you, what I need is silence for the rest of the night” I said

“But….. but none of this is my fault, if you hadn’t forced me to marry you, I’ll still be an ordinary human and werewolves with bows and arrows won’t be hunting me so I think it’s also your fault, being related to you puts me in danger so it’s your responsibility to always keep me safe”

“You seem to be getting smarter by the day” I said

“Well am learning from you, and am a fast learner” she said

“Well listen here fast learner, if you keep disturbing my peace, I won’t hesitate to knock you out and make you go unconscious”

“Come on Jayden, I told you am still scared, I need to keep on talking for the anxiety to go away” Luna said

“You are still scared, even when am right here?”

“Yes Jayden, you know why? You are the scariest of all the creatures out there” she said and I chuckled

“Well I agree with you but this very scary creature sitting beside is you is your husband remember?”

“Yes, through a forced marriage remember?” she said

“Right, make no mistake, I never wanted this marriage too, we were both forced into it” I said

“If so then I see no reason why can’t make a good team, destiny and fate forced this marriage upon us, since we can’t change it shouldn’t we at least try to live happily forgetting our differences and respecting each other?” she asked

“I asked you if you still want to be my friend on the wedding night, but you clearly refused that by suddenly fainting” I reminded

“Because that was the worst way and worst moment to asking someone to be your friend, I had just seen you rip a person’s heart out, your whole body was dripping off blood the blood of your victim, who wouldn’t faint on seeing you that way”

“Well that’s who are I am, if you are going to spend your whole life as my mate then you better get used to it” I said

“You know what? Let’s start over, let’s be friends Jayden, I think we’ll make a great team” she said

“I think you are right, I don’t think there’s any point in being hostile towards each other, we are a couple after all” I said

“Exactly” she nodded

“And we were both forced into this, so it’s better we just do what couples do and enjoy ourselves” I said as I slowly moved closer to her

“What…. what are you doing?” she stuttered

“Doing what couples love the most, you agreed we should act like a real couple” I said as I held her face and moved my lips closer to hers

“What…. that’s not….. stop!!” She yelled and I stopped

“If you aren’t comfortable with us acting like a real couple then I suggest you stop rambling about us trying to be a team” I said she nodded quickly

“I won’t say a thing anymore” she said

Time seemed to pass slowly as we sat in front of the cottage in silence
Then I felt a head on my shoulder
Luna
She had already drifted off to sleep

“Even in sleep, you cause me discomfort” I said as I shifted her head off my shoulder and her head bumped hard to the edge of the wall

“Ouch!!” She yelped as she jerked up from sleep

“What happened?” She asked looking at me

“Don’t ask me, ask the wall you just hited your head on” I said and she gave me a suspicious

“It’s never safe, being a alone with you” She muttered

Luna’s POV
Finally, morning came after what seemed like eternity

“Yes! Finally! Let’s go home!” I exclaimed as I stood up

“You seem very happy to see the morning” Jayden said as he stood up

“After all that happened yesterday, this morning sun is like a blessing”

“I agree with you, spending a long time alone with you yesterday almost made it the worst night I’ve ever had” he said as he walked away

“That feeling is very much mutual” I yelled as I ran after him

We walked for some time and we still couldn’t find any cab

“If only you had brought your phone, you’ll have called Landon to pick us up, now we are stranded with no phone, no cab” I said “Thought you were perfect and always one step ahead of everything, how could you forget to bring your phone?”

“You are right, I should’ve remembered to get my phone when Brianna kept screaming on my ears that you might be in trouble and I had to save you” Jayden said

“So you forgot your phone because you were worried about me?”

“Not worried about you but worried about myself, if anything happens to you it will weaken me cause we are bonded now, your weakness makes me vulnerable” he said and I felt a stab of guilt

I think I might understand why he’s so hostile towards me, he used to be this invincible Alpha and now he has a weak point because he’s bonded to a human with no powers
I am his weak point
I make him weak
No wonder he hates me

We finally found a payphone and Jayden phoned Landon to come pick us up

We walked into the Mansion and Brie and Bella ran to hug me

“Why did you run away from the hospital like that” Bella said

“We were so worried about you” Brie said

“Am so sorry guys, running away like that was very foolish of me and I apologise”

“You have to promise me you won’t do such a thing again” Brie said

“Yeah, even if you get tired of us then go to Daisy’s, do not run away such that no one knows where you are” Bella said and I nodded

“Okay, I promise” I said and they hugged me again

“Thank you for going to look for her Jay” Brie said

“Do not thank me, am beginning to regret it every passing moment” Jayden said as he walked up the stairs

“Don’t pay any attention to what he says, you know he’s always grumpy” Bella said

“Yeah I know, excuse me for a moment” I said and left the twins

I climbed up the stairs to Jayden’s room

“Is there any problem?” He asked as I stood by the door not saying a word

“No I… I just….. Can I spend the day with my Mom at the hospital today?” I asked

“As long as you don’t go running off again” he said and I nodded

“Anything else?” He asked as I stood still by the door

“Thank you for saving me last night, I know am just a weak human and someone like me being bonded to you makes you vulnerable but I promise not to do anything that can put you in danger from now on” I said and he nodded

“Okay” He said and walked off to the bathroom

Bella’s POV
I laid in my room bored and staring into the emptiness

Jay went to the office
Luna went to the hospital
Andre and John are out training with the wolves
Landon and Brianna are just being gloomy and not talking to each other
Wonder what happened between them last night

“If only Kilan had agreed to meet up today, then I won’t be so bored”

My phone sudden rang and I picked it up

“Hello, who am I speaking with?”

“I finished my surgery early, you still want to meet up?” he asked

“Kilan?” I asked unsure

“Have you forgotten your words already? You said you’ll show me how it feels to be happy, so meet me at the hospital’s parking lot, don’t keep me waiting” he said and ended the call

I jumped from the bed and dashed into the bathroom
I can’t believe he really agreed to meet up

Luna’s POV
I got to the hospital and I apologized to Daisy for the ruckus I had caused yesterday

“It’s okay, just don’t take off like that again, know that am always here for you okay? And you can tell me whatever is bothering you” Daisy said and I nodded

I went to meet Mom and I sat beside her bed

“How are you Mom? I heard you can hear me now and that would have been a really good news if only it didn’t mean you’ll be dying soon” I tried to fight back the tears

“Am sorry I wasn’t always a good daughter to you, I was always stubborn and disobedient and I never listened to you, if only you’ll just wake up, I promise to listen and do whatever you tell me to”

“Remember back then in the woods, when a wolf had bitten Leo and you found us? You thought me a trick then, to count to seven for seven times, I did that for the first time yesterday Mom and it worked, it really did” I said and I suddenly heard the door open

“Jayden?” I called surprised as he walked in
“I thought you were going to the office?”

“I was, then I remembered I had a promise to keep, you ready to see your Mom awake?” he asked

“Like right….. right now?” I asked and he nodded

“Like I said I’ll draw her pain into my body, she’ll be awake but it might not last too long, might just be for a few minutes so whatever you want to say to her, say it fast” he said and I nodded

“You ready?”

“Yeah” I replied

He grasped Mom’s hand tightly and closed his eyes
Then lots of black veins began forming from Mom’s hand to Jayden’s

“Is this supposed to be happening?” I asked and Jayden groaned painfully

“Jayden are you okay?” I tapped him but his eyes remained close

“Jayden, Jayden what’s wrong? Jay….”

“Luna” Mom called weakly and I turned to see her eyes opened

“Mom?”

“My daughter” she cried

“Mom!” I ran to hug her on the bed

“Am so sorry for leaving you all alone” she said

“I’ve missed you Mom, so much” I said then I heard Jayden cough, his nose was bleeding

“We do not have much time” Mom said “I knew you were destined for extraordinary things, that’s why I named you Luna when you were born because your were born with the destiny of being mated to an Alpha” she said

“You…… you knew?” I stuttered

“There are many things I must tell you but I do not have the time, your dear Alpha is already loosing his strength”

“Mom….. ”

“You must be careful dearest, The Sisters will come after you just like they came after me”

“The Sisters?”

“You are powerful Luna, more than you can ever imagine and that’s what makes you a target, you must train yourself and be strong, you must not end up like me” she said

“Mom what are you…..” she suddenly placed her hand on my face

“I love you Luna, never forget that” She said as her hand dropped from my face and her eyes slowly closed

“Mom!” I screamed as I shook her vigorously

Then I heard a thud as Jayden fell on the floor, unconscious…..
