Chapter 12
Lyra
I dragged my feet to class, it was hell for me to get out of the house, let alone face my worse enemy. I looked shattered, my hair sweeping the floor behind me because I didn’t bother packing or even brushing it. Life s-cks.
‘Hey sister in-law!!!!’ I almost slouched to my knees and dramatically scre-med “noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!” but I didn’t even have the strength to go on my knees. He flung his arm around me, pulling my body close to his to choke every space between us. ‘How ya doing sis?’
‘Xeron, can you die? I’m too tired to deal with you, I’ve cried enough already.’
‘But I’m happy, you’re going to marry my duckweed brother, isn’t that exciting!’ He squealed, good thing the hall was empty.
‘Whoo, so exciting I can’t contain my joy.’ I said unenthusiastically and sarcastically.
‘You know, he’s a very nice man.’
‘Boy, he’s a very cruel boy.’
‘I won’t argue, he’s going to be your problem from now on. I’m honestly glad you’re the one they chose for him because if it was up to him, he would die jumping from one bed to another.’ We were heading to class together, his arm wrapped around my shoulders comfortingly, in his own way, he was stylishly comforting me for getting stuck with his useless double.
‘Haven’t you ever heard of the word kettle?’
‘Pfffft,’ he puffed out dismissively. ‘I already made falling in love and get married on my to-do list when I get to 39. I still have a lot to achieve….hey! I just achieved the “casual physical contact with Lyra” to-do list, checked. I still have a lot to do.’ We walked into class, Xena sat on the teacher’s table lecturing the class while Xeris tapped away on his phone. ‘Hey Xena, I’m late, I know, I ran into s…’ I nudged his rib. ‘Ow! Sorry, mouth shut.’
‘Good morning Xena,’ I said smilingly while waving at Bethilda who was focused on what she was drawing. ‘How was your night?’
‘It was fine, go to your sit.’
‘Sure thing Prof.’ I said playfully, she laughed and focused on what she was doing. I glanced at Xeris, his gaze was intense and dark but not directed at me, the stupid hand suffocating me.
‘Let’s sit together,’ Xeron squealed and pulled me to where he normally sits with Xeris. We sat down and he entwined our fingers and placed it on the desk for all to see. The class was starting to murmur.
‘Xeron,’ Xeris called calmly but there was something dark and sinister about his tone.
‘Yes my lovely older triplet brother?’ Xeron replied twinklingly.
‘What are you doing?’
‘Daring you, why?’ He asked innocently. Xeris laughed humorlessly, almost like a psychopathic idiot.
‘I can see you want to get your fingers chopped,’ he glared at me. ‘What are you doing with him?’
‘Do you see me having a choice? Your brother is crazy!’ I exclaimed pushing his face away. He was trying to k-ss me.
‘Xeron what is wrong with you! Lyra, go sit with Bethilda, s….’
‘Teacher look at what I drew!’ Hilda squealed waving her book. She ran to Xena and showed her while jumping and squealing. Xena burst into laughter and fell on the floor. ‘Isn’t it beautiful?’ Hilda laughed. Xena held her stomach laughing seriously, Xeris stretched over the table and looked at the book. He soon joined them, laughing his ass out.
‘Let me see!’ Xeron ran to the front and took the book, his smile slowly bent to a frown. He growled like a lion and glared at Hilda, she wiggled her brows at him. ‘This is an insult!’
‘Yeah right,’ Xeris slurred and snatched the book, he flung it over to me. I chuckled in anticipation, my laugh already building up before I even set my eyes on it. I straightened the book and looked at the drawing.
It was a drawing of Xeron’s head twerking while singing “hey, I’m Xeron’s head, oh yeah I sing and twerk. Wow I’m Xeron’s head, I love to dance and sweat, look at me!” I flipped the page, in the other one he was flying a kite and laughing, by him I meant his head. “I’m Xeron’s head, I don’t have any brain but only vegetables! I ran away from my body because my c*ck is too small ”
I laughed and closed the book.
‘Oh Hilde, that’s a good one.’ I hit the table laughing with them.
‘Class dismiss, laughing gas activated.’ Xena said laughingly.
Within five minutes, the curious student trooped out of the class leaving us alone in the class. We laughed until our stomach almost burst before stopping, he was there looking like a soaked puppy.
‘What did I ever do to you Bethilda, I’ve never offended you before.’ He sobbed.
‘No but I used your magnificent baldhead to make my friend feel better, you can thank me later.’
‘You’re evil,’ he cried and ran out swinging his hands dramatically in tears. She laughed and ran after him too, swinging her hands too mockingly.
‘Come back baby,’ she shouted. ‘Don’t run like that.’
‘Those two will end up falling in love, am I right?’ Xena asked laughingly and stood up from the floor. ‘So, what about you two?’
‘Me and him, blech!’
‘What is that suppose to mean? Are you trying to say I’m not good enough for you?’ Xeris huffed dramatically with hands akimbo and h¡ps c*cked like a girl.
‘Yes, you’re totally bad for me.’ He gasped and cupped his mouth. ‘Stop being so dramatic.’
‘Xena, did you hear that? She said in bad for her but I’m the best.’
‘And why do you think you’re good?’
‘Because I know I’m good and I can prove it,’ he said confidently. ‘Wanna make a bet?’
‘No.’
‘You haven’t even heard it yet.’
‘I don’t care.’
‘Chicken,’ he sang ‘chicken.’ He mocked making clucking sounds.
‘Xeris that’s so childish,’ I gro-ned. ‘Stop it.’
‘Chicken.’ He continued clucking like a chicken.
‘Fine! What bet?’ I huffed.
‘Ten days as my girlfriend to prove that I can get you in my bed…..’
‘Xeris!’
‘Shut up, this is between my fiancée and I….so what do you say wifey?’ I scoffed remembering what dad said.
‘Does it have to be a s€× bet? I’m not doing that.’
‘It’s either that or nothing.’
‘Xeris, have some dignity for once in your life and be considerate.’ He looked at me thoughtfully and sighed.
‘Fine, I get to win your heart, have s€× with and marry you in the future.’ Xena gave him a look. ‘Don’t look at me like that, it’s mom’s idea. If I win, you accept the engagement but if I don’t, you get to reject it and I’ll help make that happen….’
‘You don’t even want to marry me….’
‘I don’t really care who I marry, as long as she’s smart, hot, beautiful and good in bed, then I’m good.’
‘This is ridiculous!’ I exclaimed.
‘Do I have to sing the chicken song again?’
‘Fine, in addition, you’ll post a video of you running around in your birthday suit and singing a booty song.’ I said smirkingly.
‘Babe, girls will dig that.’ He said smirking back. ‘Fair enough for me.’
‘So it’s a deal?’
‘I thought I was the one making the bet?’ I rolled my eyes and stretched out my hand. Before I could stop him, he spat on his hand and clasped it against mine. ‘See ya s-cker!’ He ran away laughing.
‘Xeris!!!!!!!!!!’
# XERIS
I walked my parents’ room with a tray of food, mom hadn’t eaten for two days. I tapped her gently.
‘Hey, mommy, I brought you dinner.’
I’m not hungry,’ she said yawningly. ‘Take it away.:
‘Mom, please eat.’
‘Your father haven’t eaten.’
‘And he will be sad if you don’t eat.’ She sat up and itched the back of my ear, a weird habit she loves doing for Xeron and I, though Xeron was his chin.
‘X-love,’ i smiled at her nickname. ‘Because your father is strong doesn’t mean you can joke with his life, what you and your brother did was bad.’
‘Bursted.’ I smirked.
‘Xeris,’ she drawled.
‘Okay, I’m sorry not sorry. it’s not my fault I hate your husband.’
‘If I wasn’t so exhausted already, I would have taught you a lesson but I’ll save it for later. Now, what’s bugging you?’
‘Why do you think anything is up with me?’ I smiled.
‘For one, you’re quiet and calm. Two, I’m Mixzi and God punished me with three crazy mad dog children, only one out of four is good. Xerra don’t even bother me much like you do.’
‘Not connected to the topic but okay. I got jealous today when Xeron touched Lyra, I feel weird about it.’ She smiled and k-ssed my forehead.
‘Go to bed Xeris, you’ll know soon enough. Now drop the tray and get out, husband poisoner.’ I laughed and stood up from my kneeing position.
‘I hate your husband mom, change him.’
‘F-ck you.’
‘Tell that to your husband.’ I walked out of the room with a smile.
Why do I hate him?
I don’t even know.
