Green Eyed Devils
Chapter 28
XERIS
STILL ON DAY 6
Lyra was indeed a very fast learner, she was already getting a hang of the skating thing even though she won’t let go of my arms. She was laughing, her ears blocked with her headphone. She’s too cute. I sighed, things weren’t going well with me, I don’t appreciate liking someone, especially a weak girl.
It wasn’t easy keeping my hands off her but the fact that she was naive and innocent was annoying and the main reason I was staying away from her. I hate naive and weak girls but she wasn’t given me any other choice than to love her.
‘Xeris, you’re not focusing,’ she laughed. ‘I’m skating!’
‘Yeah,’ I murmured. ‘Good.’ She drifted to a stop and frowned.
‘Are you okay?’
‘Yeah, what’s up?’
‘You’re not,’ she said as a matter of fact. ‘What’s wrong? You can talk to me.’
‘I’m fine, really.’ I assured her. She hummed and stared at me suspiciously. I wiggled my brows at her, she rolled her eyes blushingly.
‘I’m getting tired, should we take a break or call it a day?’
‘Call it a day, I have other things to do.’ I let go of her hands, she stared at me worriedly. ‘I’m fine, I promise.’
‘Can I come with you? I’m bored.’
‘You can’t come Lyra, trust me.’
‘I can manage, I promise to be quiet and not act like I’m there, pleaseeeeee?’
‘Lyra, it’s not a place you can go, I’m telling you for your own good.’ She pleaded.
‘You can get killed!’
‘Xeris please, I want o see what you’re doing.’
‘I don’t want to carry y….’
‘Please, I’m begging. I want to.’ I sighed, it was hærd saying no to her.
‘Fine,’
‘Yes!!!! Thank you! Thank you!’ She squealed and hugged me. She’s going to swallow that thank you back.
# LYRA
I walked out of the dressing room dragging the dress Xeris gave me to wear down uncomfortably. I wear short things a lot but the dress was too short, any slight bend and my ass would show. He was sitting on his bed, dressed like some assassin with a kimono jacket and golden mask. His hands were gloved with a material I had never seen in my entire life and he had a forearm brackets on with a red X on it. He looked like those powerful anime princes.
‘I don’t like this dress, it’s too short and my chest….’ I dragged the top up and gro-ned. ‘Can’t you see how exposed my chest is? Look at my legs….’
‘You’re wearing black net hose babe, stop complaining,’ he said calmly. He was typing through a hologram screen which was cool by the way. ‘If you want to fit in, you have to look the part.’
‘By dressing like a slut?’
‘You asked to come Lyra, don’t make me change my mind.’ The dress was a black leather jumpsuit short with chiffon like hands and a zigzag neckline. I wore another type of strange gloves and really high heels and I wore black wig. It was bed getting that on but since I had experience with my red, it was easy.
‘What else do I need?’ He jerked his head to the black feather mask on the bed and the stylish black feather hat too. I sighed and went to the bed, I wore the hat and the mask. ‘Whoa,’ I breathe, things were writing itself in the tinted black glass on the mask. I could see them clearly.
‘If anything wrong should happen, I’ll give you instruction through the mask. Don’t leave my side unless I say so, is that clear?’
‘Aye commander!’ I said playfully. He smiled but the smile disappeared immediately.
‘Let’s go.’ The screen vanished into his bracket like forearm watch. He took the gray car key with a skull as it holder and walked out. I ran with close short steps behind him so I won’t fall. He was walking too fast. We got to the elevator, he tapped the wall trice and drew an “X” with his forefinger. The part he tapped glowed and slid down to reveal a set of button less keypads. He typed in a code and glanced at me.
“Name identification?” A female computer voice asked.
‘None of your f-cking assh-le shitty business.’
“Gold X, identified.” I chuckled, no one will ever guess that name. “Confirmation source?” He removed a pin from his hair braided hair and poked his arm. Small blood ran out, a green light scanned it. ‘Gold X confirmed. Where would you like me to take you Mr X?”
‘Garage, get my car ready.’
“What car?”
‘Blender.’
“Processing,” I looked at him and giggled. ‘Identify unrecognized female form.” He looked at me with his l-ips in a straight line.
‘Feather.’
‘Feather?’ I asked chucklingly.
‘Yeah, my fiancée.’
“Should I add her to the security access? For emergency?”
‘Later.’ The elevator reached it destination. It dinged opened, he walked out while I tagged along. ‘Lights.’ The place lit up with electric blue and white lights.
‘Whoa!’ I exclaimed. The set of cars I saw made my jaw dropped. ‘Are you selling cars?’ Models I had never seen before.
‘Welcome to my car world.’
‘And I thought your gold car was crazy…..oh my God!!!!’ I shrieked when I saw a pretty ruby car with white and black carefully added to it in a way I can’t imagine. It was damn beautiful. I ran to the car and hugged it. ‘The love of my life, where have you been all my life.’
‘That’s my second favourite, I made it myself.’
‘Where’s your first?’ I asked smooching the car. He snapped his fingers, a white light shone from the highest part of the place. ‘Heaven, why can’t I marry a car!’ I cried. The car was gold and red in a very nice hue, a sort of mix that made it look like….like….what’s beautiful?
‘Lyra, marry my cars later. We’re running late.’ I winked at the car.
‘Call me,’ I whispered and jogged to him, my eyes never leaving the red and white beauty. He led me to a a wall. ‘Where’s the car?’
‘It’s right here,’ he beeped the car open. I gasped. ‘It’s not called Blender for nothing.’ I felt the car, I don’t understand the colour, it was like glass in a way that you can never guess it’s there. I grinned. ‘Don’t you dare say you love this car too, I can’t share you with inanimate objects.’
I chuckled. I can get use to this.

Xeris’ hands were in the pockets of his kimono jacket, my hands clinging to his bicep as he led me into the scary club that was underground. My heart was beating very fast but he said to hide my fear and that’s what I did, hide. Everyone cleared the way immediately they saw him, almost all looked like they were going to enter the ground.
‘What exactly are you?’ He shrugged.
‘A d*ck with bad shit. Haven’t you heard of mob bosses?’
‘You’re one?’
‘Nope, I hate that shit. I don’t harass people, outsiders don’t even know about us…’
‘Us?’
‘Yes, us. Let’s just say our ancestors had other ways of making money.’
‘You’re like an assassin?’
‘No, I’m not an errand boy. Just my own kind of personal shit. It’s better if you don’t know much.’
‘Do you kill?’
‘When the victim angers me to the brim.’
‘Good innocent people?’
‘Do you think any goody two shoes can anger me?’ I nodded my head agreeably. ‘I’m not fully a bad person love, just have a lot a generational things following me. You understand, right?’
‘Yeah, as long as you don’t die or turn me to you.’
‘You must learn how to defend yourself whether you like it or not.’ We got to a table with a lot of scary lookin demons, their eyes glinted with fear for a minute before most of them stared at me and lust took over.
Don’t be scared, be bold for Xeris.
‘It will do you all good if you focus on what really matters and not me, I don’t do old fools.’ I said with an eye roll even though they couldn’t see my eyes. From the corner of my eyes, I caught him smiling proudly. I felt so good about myself.
‘Crawler, you’re here early, I was expecting you to be late.’
‘I come at my convenient time.’
‘Why don’t you sit? I’m the sure lassie beside you don’t like standing.’
‘I’ll stand, now where’s my stuff?’
‘Calm down and drink a little….’
‘Hmmm,’ he stroke his chin. ‘I wonder how you’ll look with a bullet on your head….’
‘Please don’t get rash,’ he pleaded. The man was bulky with wiry hair and scars on his face. ‘Here,’ he brought out a briefcase. ‘Complete.’ Xeris glanced at me. He tapped his watch and a message popped into my screen.
“Look away.”
I roamed my eyes around the shitty club nervously. Smoking people, men screwing gurls publicly. Strippers, alcohol, everything was not my thing. I smiled and chuckled ironically. Who would have thought Ruby Mask and X-Alpha would be in such a place. I clicked my tongue, I could notice some strange movements, ominous ones.
I heard a popping sound, I turned and almost fainted. The once bulky man’s body had exploded to pieces.
‘Fool, you think fooling me is wise,’ Xeris hissed, the others were shivering with fear. ‘And you…’ He pointed the weird gun at another man and shot before he could plead. I scre-med as the man exploded with a bubbling pop sound. ‘F-ck,’ Xeris looked at me and then around, he cursed under his breath. A message popped in my screen.
“Head left, to the green door. Walk straight, don’t look back.”
“Now!”
I turned and walked away boldly even though I was scared, I witnessed such a horrible thing. He warned me anyways. I walked into the green door feeling my throat closing up and head swelling. I was already sweating.
I didn’t need anyone to tell me what was going on in there, the gunshots said it all.
Two guys walking towards me and laughing stopped and checked me out.
‘Hello, what’s a pretty girl like you doing here?’ I wanted to run, I was so scared. ‘Who’s shooting?’
Someone ran from behind me.
‘Grab that girl!!!!’ I scre-med and backed the wall in fear. ‘Get her!!!!’ I quickly ran past the guy, they chased me and luckily, they didn’t shoot. At the end, I saw a blue door with a masked girl wearing white standing there with c*cked h¡ps.
‘F-ck, White blaze.’ She smirked.
‘Going somewhere boys?’ They brought out their guns. ‘Duck!’ I fell down flat, she shit them even before they has the chance to. Thankfully, they didn’t pop like air filled watermelons. ‘Lyra, you okay?’
‘Xerra?’
‘Why did the hell did he bring you here!!!’ She yelled. She grabbed my wrist and pulled me out. I followed her shakily. ‘Are you okay?’
‘No,’ I sobbed. We were still under the ground. ‘Xeris….’
‘Will be fine,’ she beeped a white car open. ‘No wonder he called me here on emergency, I was wondering since when did he start needing help.’ I got into the car and sighed.
Never in my life will I follow if he says don’t follow.
I bend my head out of the window and threw up before she drove off.
Crying was the only thing I did next.
