Green Eyed Devils

Chapter 29
LYRA
I had Xerra drive me to the hospital so I would sleep beside Lyle. When we were kids, whenever I got scared, I would go into his bedroom and slipped under his duvet, hugging his back with trembling body. He would turn, k-ss my forehead and cuddled me until I was less afraid. He was already sleeping, I slipped into the bed and hugged him from behind. As expected, he instinctively turned and wrapped his arm around my body and k-ssed my head.
‘Don’t be scared, you’ll be fine.’ He assured me sleepily. I nodded and buried my face in his chest, I was definitely going to be okay.
# Morning
DAY 7
I was back at home preparing breakfast with Phoebe so we could take it to dad who was at the hospital with grandma and dad Xino. Phoebe was singing beautifully as she danced around horribly. She might have a beautiful voice but she s-cks at dancing.
‘Miss Lyra, come in please,’ a voice said from the intercom. ‘Miss Ocean.’ I jogged to the big blue button above the light@@ switch and pressed it.
‘Morning Major, how may I help you?’
‘Mr Xeris Xander c….’
‘He came!’ I squealed, the happiness that he was still alive bubbling in my heart.
‘Yes ma’am but he’s gone. He dropped a package for you.’
‘Where is it?’
‘Outside ma’am,’ I nodded and pressed the button back. I sighed. ‘Excuse me Phebe.’ I walked out sadly, I really wanted to see him and confirm he didn’t have any slight injury. I was worried sick. I got outside lazily only to meet what I never expected. My phone buzzed, I brought it out and checked the video he sent.
♪ Hey babe, it’s me, your one and only boyfriend. Sorry about yesterday, I’m sorry about everything that occur so I gave you this as peace offerings. Hope you love it? I’m going to check on you later, I’ve got stuff to do, oh and PS, you look beautiful this morning.’ He didn’t even see me but who cares, what really mattered was what he gave to me.
‘My new boyfriend!!!!’ I ran to the red car and hug it while shrieking and jumping. He gave me the red and white car. I touched the driver’s door and it opened beeped.
‘Identification please.’ I giggled and cleared my throat.
‘Lyra Ocean.’
‘Wrong identification, please identify yourself.’
‘Huh?’ I rubbed my arm and bit my lip. ‘Feather?’
‘Feather, identify hidden name.’ I gro-ned and brought out my phone, a message popped up.
♪ Sorry, I forgot to put complete the change over process. Put the phone close to the car door,’ I did as he said. ‘Computer, identity voice command. Shift car ownersh¡p to Feather and identify by voice and full body scan.’
‘Ownersh¡p switch, complete. Have a wonderful ride Feather X.’
‘Feather what?’ I frowned. The door bent and folded up to nowhere, like it disappeared. ‘Cool!’ I got in, the keys were in the ignition. I looked behind when I heard a cute bark. ‘Oh me God!’ I jumped out and tried to open the back door.
‘Would you like me to open the back for you?’
‘Yes!’ She opened the door. I quickly grabbed the cute little puppy and squealed. ‘So adorable!’ I always wanted a puppy but mom said never to keep one, that they could distract me. ‘Phoebe!!!! Xeris bought me a puppy!!!!’ I scre-med ruining into the house. The puppy was strawberry blonde with cream nose, ears, tail and legs. ‘Phoebe look! Puppy!’
‘Who got this for you?’
‘Xeris,’ I said poutingly. ‘Am I not allowed to keep?’
‘Why won’t you keep it? It’s cute. What are you going to name it?’
‘I can really keep her?’ I asked expectedly. She chuckled and ruffled my hair. I was acting like a kid. ‘Can I name her?’ She shrugged.
‘Sure, what will you name her?’
‘Her strawberry blonde coat is so smooth and yummy and her cream part looks like vanilla cream ice cream. I can’t name her strawberry, she’s not pink and strawberry blonde won’t make any sense…..eeek! I have so many names I wrote down years ago…..’
‘You should name her something that would suit her, something that would be best describe her, what about Creamy?’
‘Creamy?’ I asked twinklingly.
‘Her strawberry blonde and cream fur really makes me think of cream, ice cream.’
‘I love the name! Creamy it is.’ I hugged and rained k-sses on her body. She barked cutely while wagging her tail. I laughed and ran away scre-ming about my puppy.
# XERON
I rang the doorbell to Bethilda’s apartment nervously, she lived in an expensive block of flat with her mother and older sisters, It was easy finding her. The door opened, a half unclad girl coming to view. I gulped and looked away, I was there to beg, not get sed-ced.
‘And you are?’ She asked rudely, chewing her bubblegum nosily. I forced my eyes to look at her and smiled.
‘I’m here to see Bethilda, is she home?’ She eyed me with disgust. Hmm. I removed my hood and combed my wig with my fingers. She gasped.
‘Oh my….hi, Xe….oh my God!’ She wiped her eyes, shut the door and reopened it. ‘You’re real? No, in crazy…’ She shut the door again. I wore my hood back and shoved my hands into my pockets. ‘Mom!!!! I’m seeing things again!!!’ I heard her shout from in,side. I sighed and rest on the wall beside the door and s-cked my index finger.
The door opened again.
‘Where’s he!!!’ Another girl scre-med. I stood up and waved at her. ‘Oh my….aaaaaaaah!’ She jumped on me. ‘How….why?!’
‘Can I see Hilda? I’m here for her.’ I said uncomfortably.
‘Why do you need that one? I’m right here.’ She said flirtatiously. I smiled when I heard the beautiful devil scoff, I turned around and saw her standing there with arms folded. She just returned from evening workout I suppose.
‘If I remember correctly, l-sbians don’t do boys or are you bis€×ual now?’ She asked scoffingly. The other girl chuckled and smiled at her.
‘Hi sis, how was your evening workout?’ Hilda smiled and gave her a thumbs up. ‘I made you dinner, wanna try it?’
‘What is that?’
‘It’s a surprise, is this the guy you told me about? Like the him? You didn’t tell me it was X-Omega from Element X.’ I cleared my throat.
‘Can you all excuse me? I need to talk to MY BOYFRIEND,’ she said eyeing the other weird looking girl. ‘Out.’ The two of them went in,side.
‘Hey….’
‘Did you have to come here?’ She asked coldly leaning on the wall opposite her house door.
‘I just wanted to talk to you about us.’
‘Us? What about us? Are we a us?’
‘Look, I’m sorry about what I said, I didn’t mean it at all. I’m known for being foolish.’
‘What did you say,’ she smirked. ‘I don’t remember. What are we even talking about?’ She asked innocently.
‘What I said that morning, I’m sorry. I wanted to come see you yesterday but I had to find out where you lived first. Hilda,’ I walked closer to her until we were an inch away from each other. ‘I really like you Betty, like really really like like you and I hope we can work on our relationsh¡p together and see where it would take us.’
‘And what names you think I feel anything for you?’ She asked acidly. ‘It was just s€×, nothing else so don’t feel any special.’ A pang of pain rose from my chest, that hurt a lot.
‘You mean you don’t like me? At all?’ I whimpered. ‘Why? What did I do?….’ I felt like crying. She burst into laughter and knocked my head.
‘You’re so cute, you should have seen your face. It was like….’ She made a weird expression with her face. ‘That was it.’
‘So you do like me?’ I asked expectedly.
‘If I didn’t like you, will I do this?’ She encircled her hands on my neck and closed the gap between our l-ips. I mo-ned into her mouth, she was a bad ass k-sser, just the way I liked it. I k-ssed her back, fighting the urge to rip off her outfit.
‘What is going on here?!!!’ Someone scre-med, I pulled away from her and looked at the two women glaring at me. ‘Natalee, who is this guy and why are you making out with him?!!! Didn’t we warn you about dating men!!!!’ The one with chestnut hair scre-med. Betty slouched on the wall and smirked.
‘He’s my boyfriend, what is it to you?’ She asked nonchalantly.
‘We’ve told you, no men in this house!!!’ The blonde one shouted.
‘You’re not the boss of me moms….’ Moms? ‘I do whatever I want.:
‘I won’t have you bring this filthy boys into my apartment!!!!’ They shouted. She waved them off dismissively.
‘What else would you do? You both disowned me at nine and made me fend for myself, became something I never planned to be and you think you can dictate my life?’ She asked scoffingly. ‘I still live under your roof doesn’t mean you rule me…’
‘Do you two have to be pussies every time?’ The half unclad girl that opened the door asked, she came out. ‘Just because you’re l-sbians doesn’t mean we have to be too. You almost ruined my life convincing me that men are evil but it’s a good thing I listened to her and found James. You can go on and control Victoiré but not me anymore. You’re embarrassing her in front of an important person, Hilda get him away please.’
‘The two of you must leave our house!!!!’
‘Already under process, we’re moving out tomorrow.’ Betty scoffed, took my wrist and pulled out.
‘Wow, I wasn’t expecting that.’
‘Sorry about that, I was adopted. The blonde one is Saraline, my mom mom and the chestnut one is a transgender and the dad mom.’
‘She’s trans?’
‘She still get to be a woman and yet married a woman. Why not just be the guy she is but she’s just stupid. Everything is messed up.’ She said sadly.
‘So you’re moving out?’
‘Yeah, Viona and I already got an apartment, it’ll be a great start for us.’
‘Xeris said something about you being Red Bullet?’ I asked questioningly, she smirked. ‘You know you’re the best, right?’
‘I know.’ She chirped.
# XERIS
I threw the file on dad’s study table, he was reading a book. He raised his head and arched a brow at me.
‘Everything about the missing stuffs, listed and accounted for. The evidence have been cleared with no traces and the gist was leaked out by Palomar Sanderson, the bastard tried to play secret agent on you for his own gain. Should I pay him a visit?’
‘No, let him be.’
‘But he almost got you stained….’
‘Xeris, some issues are best left temporarily unsolved.’
‘But…’
‘I’ll handle him myself or give him to your angry mother,’ I nodded and turned to leave. ‘How’s things with Lyra?’
‘Why do you care.’ I snorted. He shut his book and dropped it gently.
‘Xeris, did I offend you once? Like when you were little?’ I shrugged. ‘Then why do you hate me?’
‘I don’t, I just don’t love you.’ He rolled his eyes.
‘I never expected to have a son that would hate me….’
‘And I never expected to be anything other than a normal poprock star but here I am, living like a damn criminal.’ I blunted out, I blinked in shock, I never really knew the reason why I disliked him.
‘Xeris, you love what you do, don’t blame me for it like I blamed my own father. Unlike you, I hated it but sometimes, one have to be dirty to protect the ones they love. If we don’t do it, anyone will end our lives without thinking and the foolish law won’t be able to save our skin. I learnt that the hærd way when I almost lost your mother and lost your older possibly brother or sister to Dino’s madness.’ My eyes w¡dened.
‘I had another before us?’
‘Yes, your mother was pregnant with a child before you three but circ-mstances created by Dino caused her to lose it and almost her life with it. She would never have bore neither you, your sisters or brother again if not for a miracle. Why do you think she went through severe pain during Xerra’s pregnancy? Why do you think she gets unexpected episodes and bleed sometimes? What he did to her can’t be explained but I don’t want you to experience that with Lyra, of would you prefer if an enemy of The Xander just pops up and try to kill her?’ I shook my head negatively. ‘There. I made sure each of you knew how to defend yourselves for a reason Xeris. I’ll advice you pass this lesson to Lyra as well, she’ll need it.’ I nodded and walked out.
She certainly will.
