The crystal clear blue sky paved way for a bright and beautiful new day/week. Ella, waking up with so much inner happiness, performed her chores energetically. The feeling you get when you’re in love with someone who loves you twice as much is said to be very special and as such, Ella felt special and extremely lucky to have someone as amazing as Dave in her life. With no idea of how long they’d last, she was determined to be her best in all ramifications. Though she spent most of her days trying to plumb the mysteries behind the University’s Saga and Mr. James’ wild obsession, she mostly resolved to believing that somehow, they’d scale through all odds.
Soon, the business of eating being concluded and everyone fully prepared, the family of three set out for a busy business day.

Crickets sound could be heard and fearfully dark tension filled the air. The chirping of birds and hooting of an owl could be heard as well but at a distance. The forest was thick and dark, thus making it difficult for one in,side to detect when the weather changed from day to night or vice versa. The tall trees stood giantly at specific s₱0ts, some of which had forms of a human body seemed to be moving.
At a corner, fire from a coal pot provided dim light to the dark forest. Behind the coal pot stood a figure with two heads, one which smoke puffed out and the other a human skull. His multi-coloured outfit was covered with life snakes curling all over him. Despite the scary scenario painted, the environment looked calm.
Then the strange figure, all of a sudden, turned and with sturdy steps moved towards a coffin like box. As he looked into the box, he raised his swordy staff high in the air an lowered it into the box. “Your days of fortification are over, arise and take charge. I hunger and thirst for flesh and blood. Arise!!! And destroy that which is destined to be destroyed. Arise! Arise!! Arise!!!,” he thundered and staggered backwards. In a split of seconds, it began to drizzle and strange voices echoed around.
A figure in complete human form sat up in,side the box with it’s head bowed as evil laughter ensued slowly, and overpowered the echoed voices.

The environs of Upland University, a great citadel of learning, was flooded with students. Ella could be seen walking across a lawn towards a lecture hall.
“Hello” a voice greeted from behind. Turning to utter a reply, she realised it’s Joy and in disappointment, ignored and tried to quicken her pace. “C’mon, Ella, how long will you ignore me? Can’t we just let the past be?”
Ella was in no way ready for drama, so she still ignored and added more energy to her legs. The lecture hall was a stone throw now.
“You what, I’m sorry. You and Dave can be together, I have zero issues.”
On hearing that, She stopped and made a turn. “Please, let’s bury the hatchet and build our friendsh¡p. I apologize for earlier,” Joy said pleadingly, looking sobber.
Ella refused being moved by her innocent and sorry look as memories of the last encounter flashed her mind. The ways of the devil are deceitful and one couldn’t just joke with words of the mouth. To avoid being rude, she said, “It’s fine. We have no issues” and before Joy could say a word, she was already in,side the lecture hall.

The office of the Vice Chancellor didn’t just have the ambience of a typical Nigerian Vice Chancellor’s office. It was tastefully furnished and decorated with beautiful paintings of nature and serenity.
Head bent, trying to sort out few paper works, the VC took no notice of the figure in front of him till his desk was tapped twice. Looking up, the shock on his face was enough to cause a temporary heart attack. “Da… gg… er…” He stammered.
Dagger smiled ruefully, revealing a dirty, discoloured set of teeth. “How did you get in here? Secu…”
Dagger confidently pulled a sit and comforted himself in it. Legs crossed and back resting on the arm, “If I were you, I’d stay calm and be obedient.” In a manner of one who could pose himself like the king of a Jungle, he pulled out a cigarette from his pocket. “I’m back…” he said and lit the cigarette. “… To continue from where I stopped,” he concluded and inhaled the smoke, then puff it directly into the VC’s face who used his palms to wave away the offensive odour.
“This time, I won’t just kill…” He paused, sat er-ct and leaned in on the desk, “I’ll wipe everywhere clean!”

Dave and Nath sat in different positions in Nath’s hostel room, each busy with his phone. They had no lectures that morning hence the decision to get some rest in the hostel.
“Guy!” Nath called, breaking the silence while Dave looked up from the mattress he sat on. “It seems you’re so much in love with that Ella of a girl?”
Dave couldn’t suppress the smile that formed on his l-ips. Ella was a rare kind of girl. A beautiful soul that held the key to his happiness. “I do.”
Nath smiled but quickly replaced it with a bitter frown. “She’s in grave danger.”
Dave threw a shocking expression at him, “What’s that supposed to mean?”
Nath took a deep breath but just when he was about saying something, a silver image appeared on the floor in the middle of the room. As the blurry image cleared, both parties present shouted in unison, “The Silver Wristwatch!!!”
