The scene the investigators met at the Vice Chancellor’s office was awful. On the floor of the office was the body of the VC’s wife who had been murdered in cold blood and on her stomach was the same “DCO” inscription.

The VC, despite being a man let his tears flow freely. How was he to take care of their three children alone? He cried like a baby.

When he was told of the silver wristwatch, he asked that Dave be brought to his office. He was going to get to the bottom of the wh0le matter.

Chief arrived Upland University with his wife just as Dave was led into the VC’s office with Nath following behind. Dave, on sighting the dead body of the VC’s wife immediately stopped bleeding to the amazement of all present.

Meanwhile, news of the silver wristwatch wasn’t hidden as it had already reached the ears of every student on campus.

“What? Where did you get this wristwatch?” the VC asked Dave immediately he set his eyes on the wristwatch but Dave remained mute. Dagger wore that same wristwatch the last time he visited him

Chief as well recognized the wristwatch and quickly cast his mind back to the rescue mission. Knowing Dave to be stubborn, he knew he must have taken the wristwatch from Daggers possession and the explanation given by the investigators removed every doubt.

“My love?” Mrs. Ofunne moved forward and rubbed his back. “Please tell us how you got the wristwatch. Do you know anything about the name DAGGER that appeared on it earlier?”

Dave didn’t budge, rather he kept his head straight, staring at the calendar on the wall while the dead body was taken out by some men who wore face mask and hand gloves. His glasses resting perfectly on his eyes.

“Boy,” The VC sniffed. His voice had become hoarse due to the tears he shed for his wife. “You’re wasting my time. How did you get this wristwatch?”

Dave stood his ground, not willing to say a word. The anger in his heart couldn’t be compared to any other. However, he made up his mind that if disturbed further, he would expose all secret.

“Dave!” Chief said calmly, his patience obviously running thin. “Tell us about this wristwatch in your possession. Who knows, it might lead to a new knowledge.”

“Please, no one should stress me, I’m too tired to speak,” Dave replied rudely, adjusted his glasses and put his hands in his pocket.

The VC didn’t know when his hand flew to his face and the aftermath which was a gasp from all and a dangerous and deadly stare from Dave made all hell to break loose.

“What do you all want me to say, huh?” Dave shouted. “That I discovered this silver wristwatch when I went on a mission to save Upland University from being destroyed by evil planners? He was very angry now and so completely ignored Nath who begged him with warning signals to keep quiet.

“Okay, now you know how I got it,” he adjusted his glasses and ranted on. “I’m sure it will also interest you to know that I tend to bleed each time someone is murdered and immediately stop bleeding when I set eyes on the person murdered…” he paused and then as an afterthought, added, “Now you know the truth, arrest me, kill me!”

Everywhere became dead with silence as each person allowed Dave’s confession sink deeply. Chief knew immediately that he was in trouble…

Ella’s mom sat on the sitting room floor playing ludo with Manny who was excited he’s winning.

“You’re old momma and you can’t win this game. I am the god of…” a knock at the door interrupted him and he quickly went to check. Opening the door, he was surprised to see Mr. James, his lecturer, standing before him.

“org-nism?” Mr. James smiled.

“Good afternoon sir,” he greeted with surprise written all over his face.

“Did you tell your sister about me. I’m here to see her,” Mr. James said, swinging his hand in a way that made his car key jingle.

“Manny, who’s there?” Mom asked but Manny didn’t answer, rather opened the door wide and ushered him in…

Meanwhile, Joy and Ella were having a very heated argument that attracted other members of the lodge. It happened that Joy flared up when Ella tried talking sense into her.

“How can you want to enjoy both father and son? At least, be sensible for once,” Ella was saying.

Joy laughed and clapped her hands in the process. “See lemme tell you, I’m very deadly o. Ask about me, I can kill if provoked. Do not push me to hurt you,” she said and pointed a finger at Ella.

Ella felt threatened but slapped away the finger and stood her ground. “You’ll not do more than a dead rat, do you understand? You can’t do nothing!”

Joy laughed again but this time in an evil way, then went to sit on her reading chair. She nodded her head at intervals while tapping her left feet on the tiled floor. “I go wound person o. Person wey no wan comot for my lane, I go wound am,” She kept saying in pidgin English while Ella muttered intangible words, walked to the wardrobe and brought out her small bag, then started throwing her clothes in,side…

Back at the VC’s office where silence had overshadowed, Dave spoke up again. “Please don’t stay quiet. Arrest and have me killed,” he shouted.

Just then, the silver wristwatch blinked read again and DAGGER appeared on the surface while Dave began bleeding again.

Another shouts of cry could soon be heard as students fled their rooms, running towards the VC’s office. Another student had been murdered at the male lodge.

“This boy is either an invisible murderer or an accomplice,” one of the investigators said, pointing accusing fingers at Dave.

“Don’t you dare blame my son for anything,” Mrs. Ofunne stepped forward and wrapped her arms round Dave’s shoulder, then used her handkerchief to wipe the blood from his nose. “He’s innocent.”

“Innocent you say?” another investigator snapped. “Which normal person would bleed when another is murdered?”
