Chaos and panic filled the air as students looked on. Soon, they were not talking about the dead body but the bold letters inscribed on her stomach with blood. The securities quickly made few calls and in less than two minutes, the health center’s ambulance drove there and bundled the dead body out.
As the ambulance drove away, students began to disperse in fear while Dave and Ella helped Esther to the female lodge. Surprisingly for Dave, the bleeding had stopped immediately he set eyes on the dead body. That was really something to worry about but he let it slide.
They stayed with Esther for some time before Nath arrived from visiting one of his numerous girlfriends that stayed off camp. Immediately Esther saw him, she stood up and threw herself on him and started crying again on his shoulder.
One seeing them needed no further explanation as to whether something was going on between them or not. Ella, though feeling bad, pretended not to see. When she felt she’d seen enough, she stood up and packed her books. “I’m so sorry about what has happened, Esther. Please try and pull yourself together.”
Esther appreciated her just as Dave stood up too in preparation to go. Nath excused himself to walk them to a distance.
Outside, Ella clutched her books to her br-ast and waited at a s₱0t for Dave and Nath to finish talking. Nath, however, walked up to meet her after talking with Dave.
“Please, don’t think too much about what you saw in,side there. It’s nothing, I swear,” he said, trying to sound convincing.
Ella smiled and shrugged in a way that showed she understood. After whispering something to Dave, he went back to meet Esther.
“Can I spend the night with you. Joy told me she won’t be coming back tonight and I’m just too scared to stay alone,” Ella said, staring directly into his eyes.
Dave used his left hand to adjust his glasses. All thoughts of reading had vanished his mind and before him was an option which he weighed quietly.
*You’re quiet?”
Dave found himself smiling as he held her hand and led her towards Joy’s room. “Lemme rather spend the night with you.”
Ella smiled and followed him. in,side the room, she handed him one of her big polo so he could change but he refused and rather pull off the one he wore, telling her he would sleep with only his joggers on. Ella swallowed hærd as she stared at his bare chest. He didn’t look too muscular but his skin was very smooth. On his chest were tiny hairs and she didn’t miss sight of his small but captivating n-pples.
“Can you please not swallow me with your eyes?” He joked
“Wow!” she exclaimed and moved closer. “I never knew you have some form of humor traits.”
The connection was real and pure. The passion burning and desire deep. She only ran her fingers on his chest hairs but he pulled her to himself and in a second, their l-ips locked in a passionate, breath taking k-ss.
Ella wanted to pull away. Her flesh was willing but her heart decided against it. She freed herself and wrapped her arms around his neck, this making the k-ss deeper. He k-ssed real good but while at it, the door flung open and Joy entered. Like teenagers caught in a bad act, they disengaged.
“Urhm… I’m sorry… Joy…” Ella stammered but Dave held her firm and to make matters worse, he circled her wa-ist with his hand.
“I’m sorry, Joy,” he began in his usual calm manner. “But she’s my choice.”
“How dare you?” Joy was very angry. “How dare you both?”
Ella swallowed hærd and made to speak but Dave quieted her, picked up their books with his polo and led her out of the room, then headed towards the male hostel leaving Joy in shock, disappointment and anger…
When they got to the room he and Nath shared, nothing rom-ntic could be done anymore except cuddling each other to sleep but Dave could not sleep. He stayed awake all night, thinking about his love life, the silver wristwatch and strange nose bleeding…

In the morning, the shock of the fearful event of the previous night still lingered as the students were unable to go about their daily activities freely. The Vice Chancellor had been informed and he was already in school, looking distressed and worried with his wife beside him, trying to control the situation.
He set up a panel to investigate the cause of the death and quickly, they set to work, walking rooms by rooms to question students and as well check their belongings. All students were ordered to remain in their rooms till the checking was over.
It was almost 3pm when they finally reached Dave and Nath’s room. Meanwhile, Ella had gone back to the female lodge to try settle things with Joy.
The investigators asked Dave and Nath some questions which they answered smartly, then proceeded to checking their belongings. Few minutes into the checking, the silver wristwatch was discovered in Dave’s box and just when one of the investigators was about putting it back into the box, it began to blink red light and the long, short and minute hand disappeared and the name, “DAGGER” appeared on it while Dave began to bleed again
Words alone could not describe the shock on the faces of the persons in,side the room. Just as they were about bombarding Dave with questions, a call came through one of their phones and information reaching them had it that the VC’s wife had been murdered as she went to use the rest room.
They exchanged quick glances, handed over the wristwatch to Dave before leaving the room.
As they left, Nath stared at Dave with suspicion written all over his face. He so much wanted to go close to him but the fear of the wristwatch overshadowed him
“What are you hiding from me?”
“What does it look like I’m hiding?” Dave fired, then walked towards the storage cart to pick the tissue paper which he used to wipe the blood flowing from his nose.
Still staring at him, Nath picked up his phone and began typing a text…

News of the chaos in Upland University had reached Chris Ofunne alias chief and his wife. They were discussing about it when a message entered Chief’s phone.
The message was from Nath and it read, “A strange wristwatch has been found in Dave’s possession and he’s likely in trouble. Please come quickly.”
Chief stood up quickly, almost knocking down the glass of water on the stool beside him.
“What’s wrong?” his wife asked.
“Dave seem to be in trouble, “ he said and rushed towards the stairs…
