Heartbreak is a really terrible thing, I understand that he’s a man but lying to me about it was a good point of pain and betrayal, what am I saying? He should never have cheated
 
They were three girls in the room, one already had her share and was laying tiredly on the bed, the other was waiting impatiently for her turn and he was busy with the third. I sniffed and gathered up all my wit
 
‘Whoa! What a nice party’ I said jokingly with a fake smile, he jerked away from her
 
‘Oh f-ck! Harmony’
 
‘I can see you are busy so I’ll get going now’ I said shakily and ran out, to hell with being strong, who can stay strong in this? I hate being weak but right now my heart is shattered. I got home in tears, I was living with my aunt
 
‘Hammy what’s wrong?’ She asked worriedly
 
‘Alis have been cheating on me’ I wailed, she pulled me into her arms and let me wept there like a baby, I haven’t really introduced myself
 
My name is Harmony Tomison Adebayo, I prefer to go by Hammy Tee, age nineteen and a future economist, I got into school late because I wanted to learn other stuffs first, I don’t know if I’m intelligent but at least I don’t fail my exams
 
The next morning I dressed up for school, aunt was surprised, I’m not a girl that lets anything weigh her down. I got through the day without seeing him, phew!
 
I was about leaving when I saw him talking to Matt, his best friend, his back was turned to me so he didn’t see me but Matt did and pointed to me, omo see race, the next thing I knew I was at my aunt’s doorstep 😂😂😂
 
Did I just run six miles on heels because of him? This is crazy! I took a cab and went back to school to get my car but saw Matt, I jumped into my car and drove off rapidly, if flash say he fast, he dey lie
 
My ankles were burning and all I did was cry, I need motivation, I took out my phone and called Zino, he was very angry after I told him what happened
 
‘I warned you about that guy, it’s true that he loves you but his love isn’t enough, being with him will only cause you pain, you no gree hear word, you too dey do sabi sabi’
 
‘I didn’t call you to remind me about my stupidity, I’m too young to face heartbreak’ I sobbed, he hissed
 
‘Better go buy super glue make you gum that heart together because you no suppose to let any guy use you take do mumu, na wetin I teach you be this?’ He said angrily, I sniffed. ‘I don’t want to hear about this issue again, better find a way to stick yourself together and forget about that guy, you are Harmony, remember that’ he said coldly and cut the call, I smiled and dropped my phone

‘Harmony what happened back there was a mistake, I didn’t mean for it to happen, you know I will never do anything to hurt you’ Alis said sadly, I have successfully avoided him for two weeks but he finally cornered me
 
‘So you are trying to tell me that you accidentally screwed three girls at the same time’ I said skeptically
 
‘Er….ur….it’s not what you think it looks like’
 
‘No, it is the exact definition of something looking like what it looks like’
 
‘Hammy….’
 
‘Don’t’ I cut him off lowly. ‘You know that what I hate most is being lied to, don’t tell me it’s because you are a man, if you had talked to me about it I would have given you what you wanted’
 
‘But you were so far, I only got to see you during holidays, it wasn’t that easy’
 
‘Touché but if you had told me, I would have figured something out, I’m me remember? But no, you didn’t and you didn’t cheat on me with one particular girl but a thousand, that can’t be a mistake, you are a dog’ I said angrily
 
‘I promise I won’t do that again’ he pleaded, a tall girl came out of no where and k-ssed his cheek
 
‘Darling why did you leave me in bed alone this morning, we would have come to school together’ she whined, he looked down shamefully, I scoffed painfully
 
‘Yea, you will never’ I said sarcastically
 
‘Sweetheart who’s she?’ The girl asked jealously
 
‘Nobody’ I replied coldly and left, Matt cornered me again
 
‘Harmony can’t you just give him another chance? Alisdair is a man with needs….’
 
‘I’m sorry Matt, you tried to warn me about him before we started dating but I didn’t listen, I should have, stop trying to be the good friend by trying to get us back together, if I was your sister would you have?’ He kept mute. ‘Thought as much, look, I’m trying to get over him, please give me a break’
 
‘You sure you’ll be okay?’ He asked worriedly, I nodded. ‘Just to warn you, Alis have really broken a lot of hearts in this school and stole a lot of guys’ girls, they will all pour their frustration on you, think you can handle that?’
 
‘Do I have a choice, beside I’m Harmony, I never back away from anything without leaving a mark but now I’m too weak to fight so I’ll ignore them’ I said assuredly, he nodded
 
‘If you need any help I’m here for you, as your formal bestie’ he smiled, I smiled too and k-ssed his cheek
 
‘Thanks Matthew, bye’ I said laughingly, he winced, he hates his full name.  I went to my class feeling happy for the first time since the inciden.
 
The next day, I went to class for a test, after that I was packing up my books when three girls walked to me
 
‘Are you Harmony? Alisdair’s girlfriend?’
 
‘I don’t know who that is’ I said coldly, they scoffed
 
‘Oh it’s you alright, I remember when I went to his house your portrait was on his wall, I can never forget your face’ the brunette one said irritably
 
‘What do you want?’
 
‘To deal with you of course, you are the reason why Alis can’t love me’ she flared. ‘The reason why he dumped me after our first night’
 
‘And you are one of the reason why I’m heartbroken right now, I’m dealing with a tough breakup here, please don’t add to my pain’ I fired and grunted
 
‘Leave the girl alone, it’s obvious she don’t know how to keep her man, she doesn’t satisfy him in bed and that’s why he keeps running to us’ a stupid girl said mockingly and that was all she needed to say to get the wh0le class talking
 
As wealthy as Alisdair was, he was the school’s most promiscuous dog, a bad thing on my path. I left the class and went to the gym to be away from everyone
 
I will never cry over one idiot, never ever!
 
‘There she is’ a deep voice said angrily, oh what now! It was five hefty scaring looking guys, I wasn’t scared just confused. ‘You!’ He snorted contemptuously
 
‘Yes’ I answered calmly, I squeaked when he pulled me up by my hair
 
‘Your stupid boyfriend stole our girlfriends, used and dumped them and you are the perfect tool to get revenge with’
 
‘See me see blessing o, wetin con concern me? Na my fault?’ I asked angrily trying to free my hair
 
‘I don’t understand what you just said but we’ll deal with you’
 
‘Oscar are you sure? You can make her your babe and he’ll be jealous as hell’ the second heftier one said reasonably
 
‘No, I want to use her the way he used mine’
 
‘But she has nothing to do with this’ one tried to protest but got a smack from another
 
‘Better shut the hell up and come help me pin her down and seal her mouth’ I was calculating how to escape, thank you dear Aunty Monica for making me attend self defense classes and jitsu, may God bless your entire generation to come 😂😂😂
 
I kneed the guy very hærd and flipped him over, before the others could react, I jumped over them and took off, from now on, I’ll totally carry my electro zapper with me

Days few by and things became unbearable, sure no one tried to harass me again after I shaved a guy’s head and cement him to a wall but the insult never stopped, it only increased my hate for Alisdair
 
Zino kept encouraging me as well as Matt, Alis on the other hand avoided me like a plague, I no blame am. My dad called me one evening
 
‘Good evening dad’ I said lazily
 
‘Baby guess what?’ He said enthusiastically
 
‘You finally learnt how to ride a bike’
 
‘I can ride a bike!’ He said defensively, I chuckled
 
‘Yea sure’ I said sarcastically. ‘What’s the surprise?’
 
‘Guess’
 
‘Can I get a hint?’ I asked pleadingly
 
‘No’
 
‘Dad please just tell me’ I begged
 
‘Okay, you remember the exam you took for entry to Oxford university?’ He asked excitedly, I hummed. ‘I just saw a mail that was sent two weeks ago, you got accepted but it’s too late’
 
‘Too late? Say na who die’ I shouted cheerfully, he gro-ned. ‘Sorry, I meant I will still go, I want to be out of this God forsaken school’
 
‘Why?’
 
‘I hate it, please dad let me go, I beg you’ I pleaded desperately
 
‘Anything to make you happy dear, will you need anything else?’
 
‘Yes dad’
 
‘And what is that?’
 
‘Please give Harrison a call, I know he wrong you but he was only desperate and love blinded, dad he’s going through a lot knowing that he can never have a child, he was….’
 
‘If he had come back and talked to me first, I would have told him that the poor Annabel he impregnated unknowingly and left had a son for him and that baby is with his mother and grandmother, there’s no denying it since Garrison looks exactly like him’ dad yelled furiously, I sighed. ‘Do you know how hurt I am to know that my son left me because of a woman carrying someone else’s child when his biological child is without a father, till today I haven’t told Annabel that Harris returned and left, it will kill her’
 
‘Dad I understand you but you can’t let this go on, Harry needs to know about his son, Garry is turning seven soon and he must know his dad now, at least do it for me, pleaseeeeee’
 
‘No, not in this one Harmy, I’ll have to turn you down’
 
‘Dad please, for mom’s sake, do you want her to remain unhappy in her grave? Her spirit is troubling me, please do it for us, or don’t you love me again?’ I asked tearily
 
‘Fine but I am not going to change my will, you remain my heiress to everything’
 
‘Dad please’
 
‘Okay to most things, happy?’ He snapped, this is better than nothing plus Harry is a doctor, it won’t affect him
 
‘I love you dad’
 
‘And I love you too, I’ll make arrangement for your new school, will that be okay?’
 
‘Yes and don’t forget to call him’
 
‘I will, goodnight my love’
 
‘Dad are you really planning on dying single?’ I asked jokingly
 
‘Give me your mom again and you will be old news, night dear’ he hung up, I called Zino and told him everything then I called Harry, he was so happy, but his full joy is yet to come, finally I texted Matt and told him I’m leaving the school, he called back ten minutes later
 
‘Do me a favor and talk to Alis before you leave, he’ll die without your forgiveness’ was all he said, I called Alisdair afterwards
 
‘Harmony?’
 
‘Yes me, just called to tell you that I forgive you, I’m not mad anymore but next time if you want to cheat on your faraway girlfriend, do it with one or two girls, you really owe the wh0le school an apology, they hate you’
 
‘I know, I don’t even know how I got to this stage but thank you for your forgiveness, I will make it up to you one day, I promise’
 
‘Not me, the school’ I smiled. ‘Goodbye Alisdair’ I whispered and hung up, I haven’t forgiven him fully but with time I will
 
I just hope I did the right thing but will I ever be able to fall in love again or find someone that will love me sincerely?
