By 10:30am the next morning, Gloria their mom was already preparing to leave for their new school to receive enquirements. She wanted to register her kids and pay for all necessary fees too.
***. ***. ***. ***. ***. ****. ***.
“Are you participating in the school’s beauty contest this year?” Rainbow asked as they both walked through the school’s hallway to the computer lab.
“I don’t think so, am not ready for all those stress of making beauty debates. And am just tired of the wh0le school noticing me” Ronnie replied
” Oh please, if I were half as beautiful as you are. I’d be finding my way to Miss Nosa’s office right now to get listed for the beauty contest. ” Rainbow added smirking at her best friend. She’s just taking this beauty contest for granted
They got to the Computer Laboratory and met Mrs. Linch with some other students installing new computer softwares and equipments.
“I’m so glad you girls are here, Ronnie please help Drew ins**t the modem cables into it’s port. And Rainbow you can come help me separate these tangled cables for now” said Mrs. Linch

“Freddie! Freddie!! Freddie!!” Gina’s tiny voice echoed through the house as she ran to the living room. Freddie sighed and walked out of his room “What’s it this time Gina?”
“There’s a playhouse at our back yard, it’s old but beautiful too. Please come and check it out with me” she dragged Freddie all the way to the back of their new house.
It was a well structured playhouse, and Gina had always wanted one. Seemed the people who moved out had a child about Gina’s age. Gina was about to enter the playhouse when Freddie dragged her back “No Gina, it’s too dusty. When Mom comes back she’ll sort it out and you can play all you want”
” Ohk” squeaked Gina
Just immediately they walked back into the house,they heard their mom’s voice.
“Am home. Gina??”
“Mom!!!” Gina exclaimed running to embrace her mom.
” Welcome mom” Freddie curtseyed
“How are you darling?” Gloria asked k-ssing her daughter’s temples
” Am fine mom” Gina replied somehow excited
“Freddie? Where’s Marie?”
” She should be in the room” Freddie answered
” Can’t she hear that am back?” Gloria said bluntly “Anyways am sure you guys are hungry so I’ll quickly make oats for everyone” Gloria said plainly
” Mom I found a playhouse at the back yard, it’s really beautiful. I love it” Gina said grinning abit
” A playhouse?”
” Yes mom,come and see it. It’s at the back of the house” Gina squeaked dragging her mom to see what she was talking about.
They got to the back yard and Gloria starred at the playhouse recommending how well-structured it looked.
“It’s beautiful but rusty, I’ll get some men to help you clean that up”
” Thanks Mom”

After their little lunch, Gloria was telling her kids how the enquirements and registration went. Freddie would be attending WELLSON BORDER HIGH, Marie – WELLSON BORDER JUNIOR HIGH and Gina- BORDERTOWN ELEMENTARY
“Is the school gonna be like Pitchy Elementary?” Gina asked
“No darling, it would be alot better than Pitchy Elementary” Gloria replied smiling at her last child
“Ok I hope I have friends just like Kate and Bridget too”
“So you guys would be starting on Monday” Gloria added
” Can’t we just start tomorrow I’m sick of this house” Marie complained
” No Marie, you’ll be starting on Monday. And this house is way more beautiful than the one in Milly town. Or don’t you like how well decorated your new room looks? ” Their mom replied, asking
” I and Gina’s room you mean? ” Marie said plainly
“Oh I see the problem here, you’re just angry that you have to share a room with Gina….”

” Ronnie how was school today? ”
“As usual” Ronnie replied collecting the glass of lemonade from her mom.
” So have you been listed for this year’s beauty contest” Mrs. Shimmers asked. Ronnie looked at her mom and tilted her head sideways gulping the wh0le lemonade juice.
“Why?”
“Cause I don’t feel like” Ronnie replied dropping the glass back on the table.
“You’re such a nerd, about last year you were so engrossed with winning the beauty contest, what’s wrong now? ” Mrs. Shimmers asked confused
” Nothing mom, I just don’t want to contest this year” Ronnie said and began walking upstairs to her room
“Now am not surprised why some of your friends call you a weirdo. God help you”
Ronnie rolled her eyes ignoring her mom and still climbing the stairs up to her room.

Ronnie had lived the past seventeen years of her life without a man to call Dad
Her mom never allows her to bring up topic of her Dad. She says it’s a pain killing story.
The only feature she possessed from her mom was her very long hair, the rest was probably from her dad whom she had never seen. She and her mom were a little opposites of each other. Ronnie had green sparkling eyes while her Mom’s were brown .
She was slender and tall while her mom was churby and averagely heighted. She had glowing skin but her mom’s were different. They were so different from being Mother and daughter.
But intellectually, Ronnie took from her mom. She was one of the top 10 straight A+ grade students in Wellson Border High. Apart from being intelligent, Ronnie was also indeed very beautiful. She had skin like Snow White and hair like Rapunzel………..

MONDAY 15TH FEBRUARY, 2016
WELLSON BORDER HIGH
“Uhm…… Hi please where is the Principal’s office?” Freddie asked stopping a fat-blonde girl.
“The first office by your right” She replied
” Okay thanks”
He knocked and was sure he heard a ‘come-in’ before entering. He walked in and was impressed with what he saw, the office was well-furnished and unlike he imagined.
“Freddie Corvette?” The almost bald man asked.
” Yes sir” he replied in hesitation
” Good, glad you came. I’ve already scribbled down your schedule just for this week. By the time your records are ready, you’ll get a full session schedule. So here you go” he said handing Freddie a slip.
” Thank you sir”
” You may go, I’ll send a student when I need you. And to find your way to classes don’t hesitate to ask any student for directions” The Principal added.
” Alright sir. Thanks” Freddie replied and left his office.
With the directions of few students, Freddie got to Maths class. The teacher was already in, immediately he sighted him he made a sign for him to walk in.
“So class before I move on, I’ll like to introduce your new classmate” The Maths teacher began. “Tell the class your name”
“My name’s Freddie Corvette” Freddie replied. The wh0le class was silent making it feel awkward for Freddie
“You may go find a seat” The teacher said finally breaking the seconds silence
Freddie walked to the only empty seat in the class, which was at the back. Some guys were at the back too, all putting on black jackets and smirking at him. He had no choice and sat in their midst, some girls were looking back and gawking at him. The wh0le scene seemed awkward to Freddie, he didn’t know why he suddenly began to feel nervous.

Freddie stood outside the class, he didn’t know where to go now, then a tall slim girl walked up to him.
“Hi am Ronnie, Principal Mallum ordered me to take you to the Vice-Chansellor’s office” she said. Freddie starred at her in awe, he didn’t know angels exists in human form.
“I…… Em… Ohk” he finally said after starring and stammering, then followed her behind.
She didn’t look like some one who smiled often.
She had a very long black hair, which ran across her shoulders. Her eyes were sparkling green and her skin was like that if an angel’s.
They both got to the Vice-Chansellor’s office and Ronnie waited outside the office for him. After discussing with the Vice-Chansellor and collecting his own copy of the school’s map, he got to find out that Ronnie would be like his assistant for the few weeks in order to get used to the school.
‘So I’d be seeing and talking with an angel for the next weeks’ he thought.
“Hey am done”he said after coming out of the office approaching her.
“Oh ok then, where would you like me to take you to now? ” She asked
“I don’t know, just take me where my schedule appoints” he replied handing her the slip the V.C gave him.
She took it and nodded. They were on their way and passing through the hallway.
“Erm…… so….a proper conversation would be fine” Freddie stated
” You’re Freddie Corvette, I know” she replied eyes fixed on where she was going and walking like she was alone.
“Ok what about you?” He asked
“Ronnie. Ronnie Shimmers”
‘Awkward name for an angel like you ‘ he thought
“I know what you’re thinking” she said and turned her full eyes darting on him
” You think my name’s awkward right?” She added.
Freddie’s mouth was partially agap, how did she now he was thinking such?……….
