I quickly carried Caden and we ran up to the room.

We laid on the bed and got under the blanket.

I was shaking so bad and Caden couldn’t help but stare at me under the duvet.

He’s back? That monster is back? No , it can’t be.

“What’s gonna happen” Caden asked mad I hugged him tighter.

My l-ips shivered as I tried letting out some words.

“Nothing “ I told Caden and shut my eyes tight.

“Just close your eyes and sleep “ I told Caden and he did as I told him.

He can’t get in here, I locked all the doors and windows so there’s now way he can enter in here.

My heart was pounding, my eyes were still shut right but I couldn’t sleep.

Why would he even think of coming back? What does he want now?

I flinched when my alarm went off.

I sat up and switched off the alarm.

I went to the window and looked out……..still scared of what happened last night.

I went downstairs and looked out through the window whether I’d see anything suspicious.

I pulled the curtains aside and went to the kitchen to make Caden breakfast 🥞.

I was done with the breakfast so I went to wake Caden up.

I took him in,side the shower and bathed him.

I dressed him up, arranged his books in his backpack and took him downstairs for breakfast.

I fed him and he went to school in the bus.

I went back upstairs and freshened up.

I dressed up and went downstairs to have some breakfast.

My eyes were baggy with dark circles cause I didn’t sleep last night.

The thought of my dad coming back kinda stroke some nerves in me.

He can’t come back now, he’s evil.

Right now, I’m so scared and I don’t know what to do.

I lost my appetite so I took back the food I had dished to the kitchen and got ready to go to the resto.

I grabbed my hand bag and went to catch a bus.

I arrived at the resto and I was kinda surprised that Bryan was already there before me.

He’s being super early today? Wow.

I went in and went over to the credenza where he was.

There were already customers which surprised me more.

I looked at Bryan with a confused expression and he seemed confused over my look.

“How are you so early?” I asked him.

“Hello??? You mean why you’re so late? “ he fired back and I raised an eyebrow.

“Check your time “ he said and pointed at my wrist watch.

I was still confused so I dropped my bag on the credenza and raised up my wrist to look at the time.

My jaw dropped with no sound coming out and I kept my eyes fixed on the watch for quite a while.

I thought I woke up early so how the hell am I so late?

Caden didn’t miss his school bus so how?

I guess I spent so much time in the shower and on the dinning table, thinking.

I looked up, hoping to see Bryan but he was no more there but serving customers.

When did he even pass me? God! What’s happening to me?

I sighed and took a seat in the kitchen.

This thing about my dad is really stressing me out.

I can’t stop thinking about it, I don’t even know if Caden really saw him for real or he’s just mistaking him for someone else.

“Amy?!” My name rang in my ear so loud I flinched .

“Is everything ok with you?” Bryan asked.

“Uhm yeah…..yeah” I replied.

“No, something is wrong “ he said and I sighed.

I got up and put on my apron to start my job.

“We are here for work so let’s get to that and make our customers happy “ I told him with a smile.

He went to take orders as usual and I started making their orders.

Half way through cooking, my phone rang and I immediately took it out to check who the caller was.

It was Luca so I just sighed and dropped my phone on the credenza.

I continued what I was doing but my phone wouldn’t stop ringing which was frustrating.

I angrily answered the call and replied with a “yes?”into the phone.

“Be here in a minute “ Luca said over the phone and hanged up.

The nerve! Seriously?!

Ugh 🤦‍♀️ .

I took off my apron, told Bryan where I was headed before leaving in a cab.

I arrived there and went up to his office.

He was looking out through the glasses in his office in a way that his back was all I could see.

“I’m here “ I told him.

I really don’t know what he wants but he better be fast with it cause I don’t feel comfortable being here.

He turned and he had a soft expression on his face when he saw me.

“Why do you have dark circles around your eyes? You didn’t sleep last night?” He asked and I sighed.

“Is this why I was called?” I fired back and he said nothing.

“Pardon me if I’m being rude but you just summoned me in middle of my business “ I told him.

“I understand “ he said and walked around his table over to me.

“Ok so, why are you avoiding me?” He blurted out.

“Am I?” I asked though I knew very well that avoiding him is what I’ve been doing.

“Oh please stop this, just tell me what I did wrong “ he said in a low tone as if begging.

“I really don’t know what you’re talking about but I got work to do so if you don’t mind, I’ll take my leave now “ I told him and turned to leave but he held my wrist.

Now he has the right to touch me?

“ Amy, I don’t know what I did but whatever it is that I’ve done, I apologize for it “ he said and my eyes started getting w-t.

He’s sorry now? How could he even call me a hoe? Why would he do that?

My tears became uncontrollable in front of him so I just let it go, I busted out in tears.

“Oh Amy” he called in a soft voice and tried hugging me but I pushed him away.

“Don’t you dare touch me!” I yelled at him.

“Why?” He asked.

Seriously? He’s asking me this? What I even hate more is when you make a mistake and keep asking what you did wrong. Didn’t it occur in that dumb brain of his what he did that could have hurt someone?

“You’re so stupid for asking me that! You called me a hoe! How could you call me that? Even that stupid Riley of yours can never be decent as I am and you dared call me a hoe huh?” I yelled at him amidst tears.

“No Amy, I ….“

“You what?!” I cut him short.

“What did you say the last time? That I hoe around with my cook? Is that why you said? Well, yeah! Those were your exact words but let me tell your Mr Devon, I’m not your hoes, I’m not your friends that hoe around you and just because you have me a resto and money doesn’t give you the f-cking right to question my dignity “ I told him.

He tried talking all this while but I didn’t give him the space to. What more does he wanna say? Call me a stripper?

“Amy please listen to me” he pleaded but I stopped him with my right palm raised up at him.

“I don’t wanna hear it ok, I just don’t want you to call me anymore. I appreciate you for the help but please, don’t act like some god or something “ I snapped at him.

He wanted to talk but my phone rang.

I sniffed mad wiped my tears as I looked at my phone to know the caller.

I took deep breaths before answering the call from the hospital.

“Amy, your dad is here and in Cody’s ward” The doctor’s voice sounded over the phone and with those words being said, I felt paralyzed for a moment that I didn’t know when my phone fell off my hand.

“Are you alright? “ Luca asked and that brought me back to reality.

My dad is at the hospital and that too, im Cody’s ward?

He better not do anything to my baby cause I’ll kill him this time.

I ran out of the company, ignoring Luca’s call.

I boarded a taxi to the hospital and when I arrived there, I ran to Cody’s ward.

“Oh oh! Here she is” my dad welcomed me with those words with a smile on his l-ips.

I was p-nting softly as I stood frozen to my s₱0t.

I can’t believe after all these years, he’s right in front of me.

He sat beside Cody, his hand on Cody’s hair.

“What are you doing here ?” I asked him with a stern expression.

“Oh chill little princess, I’m just here to check up on my son ayy” he said and laughed.

That evil laughter of his, enough to make the wires in my head spark.

“Get away from him” I warned him and he laughed more.

The doctor was just silent, watching the show.

“Oh c’mon, you’re my child too so stop giving me that look” he blurted out.

“How the hell did you even know Cody is here?” I asked him.

“I know everything, everything Amy” he said in a creepy tone and that for real made me scared.

“Leave now or I’ll have the security throw you out “ I told him.

“You sure you wanna do that?” He said and brought out a little dagger.

I gasped as he played with it, smiling at me.

He’s very dangerous and any wrong move from me can have me regretting it for the rest of my life.

“Now that’s more like it, you should always keep calm in front of me” he said.

“Ok now, I have to go” he said and got up.

“Oh wait” he said, squatted and k-ssed Cody on the forehead.

Those dirty evil l-ips of his.

“Bye Amy darling “ he said and exited the ward.

I heaved a sigh of relief and went over to Cody.

Oh God, I was so scared I almost broke down.

Cody needs a tighter security, I can’t risk it.

“I’m really scared for you Amy” the doc said and a tear slid down my left cheek.

The door to Cody’s ward opened and Luca walked in.

I wiped my eyes rapidly and k-ssed my Cody on the forehead.

What does Luca want now?

“Amy” he called and I threw him a deadly glare.

“Uhm, you forgot your phone” he said and stretched it out to me.

My phone had fallen from my hand when I heard my sc-mbag of a dad was at the hospital.

“Thanks” I said and took the phone from him.

I really have to go get Caden now and tell Bryan that he should continue to handle the resto alone.

I can’t, I just can’t risk it now.

I don’t know but we have to move out to a new place and I have to transfer Cody to a new hospital.

I have to go make arrangements but I’m so scared to leave Cody all alone.

Even the security guards can’t stop my dad from entering cause I knew he’d hold them at gun point…… I know how evil he is.

“Doc can I talk to you in private” I asked him cause Luca was still there.

He already gave me my phone so I don’t know why the hell he isn’t leaving.

The doc and I excused ourselves and I told him to get two cops to come guard Cody for today which he agreed on.

The cops arrived and I bade Cody goodbye.

As I left, I heard Luca asking the doctor who was the man he bumped into while he was coming in.

He started describing the man and it was none other than my dad.

I sighed and left the hospital.

Next week is Cody and Caden’s birthday and I’m so frustrated right now.

How Caden celebrate his birthday when his brother is still in coma?

First, we have to find a new house and move out from here.

We’ll be back someday cause it’s our house but for now, we have to leave.

I have to get Cody to a new hospital so my dad won’t have access to him.

I went to meet Bryan and when I told him everything, he said he knows a vacant house that is for rent.

Told him to give me all the details which he did and he also gave me landlady’s number.

I called the lady and after much discussion on the phone, I decided to take the house.

It wasn’t so expensive which is good for me.

I haven’t even seen the house yet but Bryan said it’s big and I don’t really care about that, I just wanna move out so we’d be safe.

We have to be careful about all these cause if my dad says he knows everything about us, then he does.

I paid the landlady through bank transfer and I went home to meet Caden.

He had just gotten back from school so I made him something to eat.

I bathed him and wore him some nice clothes.

I told him we were moving out and that kinda made him sad.

He sat on the stairs, so quiet as he watched me pack up.

“Baby” I called and went to sit beside him.

“We are gonna be back okay? This is our house but consider this as an holiday, like we are going to spend time somewhere else” I told him.

I hugged him and k-ssed his cheek.

“Now come help me pack up” I told him and he smiled and joined me.

Bryan is gonna close early from the resto and come help us pack as well.

Half way through packing, my phone rang and it was from the doctor.

“Yes? Is he back?” I asked the doctor.

“No, Cody is awake” the doctor blurted out and it sound so loud in my ears.

My Cody is awake?
