Chapter 57 (Answers)

GOLDEN HIGH SCHOOL*

“So that was what happened.” Asha came to a conclusion. She just told Otto about the abduction of Tara yesterday and he’s perplexed.

“Wow, so Leo actually saved your daughter.” He said, unable to believe his ears.

“Yes he did, he was truly a God sent.”

“Yes he was.” Otto said with a smile and there was silence.

After a few minutes Asha broke the silence. She stared intently at him and he narrowed his eyes at her, trying to ask her what was wrong.

“So tell me, who was your date to the prom?” she asked.

Otto laughed nervously as he itched the back of his neck.

“It was Allison.” he said and Asha slapped his arm, while he winced playfully.

“I knew it!,” She said as she laughed hærd. “You guys are perfect for each other…so tell me what happened.” she said with a wink.

“Nothing serious really happened, we just danced and spent a few minutes with each other then we all left for our various homes.” he explained with a shrug.

Asha gasped inwardly and expressed her shocked expression outwardly by putting a hand on her mouth.

“What?” Otto asked.

“You guys didn’t even k-ss?” She asked and immediately Otto’s ear turned red, he was blushing so hærd and Asha could tell. He bit his bottom l-ips hærd to prevent him from smiling.

“Look who’s blushing.” Asha pointed at him while laughing.

“Just stop, it’s embarrassing.” he said as he also laughed.

QUIN’S ELEMENTARY SCHOOL*

Asha quickly alighted from the taxi and paid the driver off.

She clutched tightly on her handbag like it’s soon going to get snatched by a thief. She took a deep breath before going into the school.

There were things she needed to find out about, she needed some answers to her unending questions.

She had to leave early, while Tara and Josh were still asleep, so she would return home quickly.

“Asha,” Vivian called and she stopped right on her track. She smiled when she saw Vivian coming towards her.

“Good morning Vivian.” Asha greeted with a smile and Vivian smiled back.

Vivian itched the back of her head nervously and Asha could tell she wanted to say something.

“Is there something wrong?” Asha asked as she narrowed her eyes at her.

“Nothing is wrong, I just wanted to ask. When is Tara going to resume school?” She asked and Asha let out a smile and held her shoulders firmly.

“Tara will resume soon ok?You don’t need to worry.”

“Thank you Asha, I understand. So what are you doing here?” She asked, looking around.

“I came by to see someone, do you perhaps know where the Janitress is right now?”

“You mean that old lady who’s a cleaner?” Vivian asked reluctantly.

Asha rolled her eyes and shook her head sideways. “Of course, but she isn’t that old, work and stress made her that way.” She said,

Vivian shrugged, “Whatever, You are right though…” She trailed on her words as she stared at her wrist watch. “I need to get back to class now, catch up with you later.” She said and ran off.

“Wait!” Asha yelled and she stopped right on her track. “Where can I find her?” Asha asked.

“Just go to the janitor’s room, you will find her there!” Vivian yelled and ran off.

“Thanks V,” she said, even though Vivian couldn’t hear her.

After a while of walking round the school, Asha found the Janitor’s room, written Janitor boldly on it. Without wasting another minute outside, she pushed the door open and behold she saw the woman arranging some stuff in,side the room.

The woman was so engrossed with what she was doing that she didn’t notice Asha standing behind her.

“Good morning ma.” Asha greeted and that was when she stopped doing whatever she was doing and turned to Asha.

“Good morning dear, how may I help you?” The woman asked with a smile.

Asha went dumbstruck as she only found herself staring at the woman. The resemblance was there and she couldn’t help but continue staring.

‘The resemblance is there but I was too ignorant to notice it. Who would Josh react to if I told him?’ she asked herself inwardly.

“Dear, are you ok?” The question brought Asha back to reality.

Asha stared at the woman and smiled, “I am fine but there is something I need to discuss with you ma.”

“What is it dear and why do I feel like I know you?” The woman asked instead.

“Of course you know me, but we haven’t really talked to each other. I am the mother of that little girl whom you often spend time with and am also the girl that you touched her necklace one.” Asha explained and she smiled.

“Oh, now I remember. Your daughter is really sweet and sometimes acts mature, didn’t you come with her?” The woman asked innocently, a sad expression on her face.

Asha shook her head side to side, “She is with her dad.” She replied and the woman let out a oh.

“Can we talk for a few minutes?” Asha asked politely, while the woman furrowed her brows.

~

“What was it you wanted to talk about dear?” The woman asked with a smile.

“It seems she loves smiling a lot, just like me.” Asha said inwardly and smiled.

“I need answers to questions that I’ve been battling with.”

“What kind of questions dear, and how am I the one who knows the answers to them?” The woman asked as she batted her long lashes.

“It’s about your past.”

The woman pursed her l-ips and looked Asha directly in the eyes.

“Why do you want to know about my past?” she asked and Asha swallowed hærd.

“I just want to confirm something.” Asha replied, praying inwardly that the woman tells her what she needs to know.

The woman stood up from where she was seated. “I am sorry but I don’t think I can help you. Have a good day ahead.” She said,

She took a step forward but the words of Asha stopped her right on her track and she turned to Asha’s direction.

“What did you just say?” She asked in a trembling voice.

“I said that Josh is alive. You son whom you think is dead, is alive and I know where he is right now.” Asha said.

After a few minutes, the woman took her seat and Asha felt happy but didn’t show it.

“I don’t believe you, Josh is dead because I looked for him everywhere but he was nowhere to be found. What proof do you have to make me believe you?” The woman asked as she rubbed her palms together.

“Do you know what he looks like right now?”

“No, the last time I saw him was twenty years ago but I know my son when I see him.” she replied.

Asha brought out her phone from her bag and passed the phone to the woman.

The woman looked at the picture on the screen then, she covered her mouth and her eyes dilated.

“That’s your son right?” Asha asked and she nodded her head.

“That is what he looks like right now.” Asha said again but heard no reply from the woman as she was speechless.

“I can’t believe this…Josh is alive…I thought I lost him.” The woman stuttered as she wept bitterly.

Asha stood up and walked over to the woman as she consoled her.

“It’s ok, everything will be fine now. Josh also misses you.” She muttered as she rubbed her shoulder lightly.

Chapter 58 (Special time together)
*
ASHA’S RESIDENCE*

Asha entered the house and a gasp escaped her mouth when she saw the terrible sight in front of her. Her entire house was filled with smoke and it makes it hærd for someone to see clearly.

She walked to the kitchen and met Josh trying to get rid of the fire that was coming out of the microwave.

He blew on it and the flame got high, then he moved backwards. Tara was standing at a corner watching the wh0le scene.

Asha shook her head at the awful sight in front of her and immediately, she dashed into the bathroom and came back with a bucket of water and a detergent alongside with a rag.

“Josh movie,” Asha yelled and Josh parted ways for her.

She poured a large amount of detergent in the bucket of water and then she carried the rag and dipped it into the water before bringing it out and placed it on the fire.

She let out a breath of relief when the fire finally quenched, then she started to clean the kitchen.

After she was done cleaning the kitchen, Tara ran to her and hugged her with a smile on her face.

“Mommy you saved the day, while uncle Josh was being lazy.” Tara chuckled and Josh itched the back of his head.

“I wasn’t being lazy…” He trailed on his words when he got the hærd glare from Asha.

Asha glared hærd at him and walked to the sitting room before collapsing on a couch with her eyes closed.

“Asha, baby” Josh called and she hmmm, still with her eyes closed.

He knelt down and eyed Tara, giving her a signal to come help him. Tara quickly left her mother’s side and joined Josh on the floor.

“Mommy we are sorry, it wasn’t uncle Josh’s fault, he was just trying to make something for me to eat but it turns out that he’s bad at making meals.” Tara explained as she tugged the bottom of her mother’s p-nts.

Asha suddenly opened her eyes to take a peep at Josh and she laughed when she saw him staring at Tara with his mouth opened.

“Baby you never told me Tara can talk like an adult.” Josh whined.

“Uncle Josh, I am not an adult but a child of four” Tara smiled as she showed him her fingers, numbered four.

“But you behave like an adult sometimes and it shouldn’t be like that. You are just four like you claimed.” He said as he pouted his l-ips.

“I am not claiming to be four, I am four…mommy tells him I am four.” Tara whined almost at the verge of shedding tears.

“It’s ok, both of you should stand up.” Asha said, stopping them before they continue arguing.

Josh stood up and Tara nudged him on his wa-ist. He looked at her and found her giving him the ‘We are not done yet’ look and he shivered. This girl was totally like him and he suddenly regretted having such a character.

Asha looked at them both and smiled, maybe it was actually the right time to tell Tara the truth.

“Baby” She called Tara and Tara averted her gaze from Josh to Asha.

“You remember the time you told me you wanted to see your daddy?” She asked and Asha nodded her head, staring at her mother keenly.

Josh squinted his eyes at her Asha but she avoided his gaze, as her gaze was fully on Josh.

“Uncle Josh isn’t your uncle but your daddy ok?, So don’t address him as uncle Josh but daddy from now, do you understand?”

“Wait!, So my daddy has been living with us and you didn’t tell me?, why didn’t you tell me?” She asked innocently as she bit her bottom l-ips hærd, preventing herself from crying.

“Baby the thing is….” Asha couldn’t complete her sentence as Josh squatted down to Tara’s level and turned her to his direction.

“I told mommy not to tell you because I wanted to surprise you… You’ve always wanted to see me, so don’t you like the surprise?”

She pursed her l-ips and later let out a smile, then she hugged him tightly.

“I love the surprise daddy, but promise me you won’t leave us again because mommy told me that you went on a vacation, so promise me you won’t leave again.” She said in a teary voice.

“I promise, I won’t leave you and mommy again.”

“Pinky promise?” She asked and he brought out his pinky finger and wrapped it around hers.

“Pinky promises sweetheart.” He said and pecked her on the forehead before she hugged him tightly again.

“I love you daddy.”

“I love you too sweetheart.” He replied.

Asha stared at them both and he mouthed a “Thank you” to her.

“You are welcome but you will pay for the damaged Microwave.” She mouthed back and he chuckled lightly.

SHOPPING MALL*

Camdan flipped the pages of the magazine and when he heard the sound of heels, he dropped the magazine and stared at the beauty in front of him.

Later that day, he had promised to take her out and here they are in the boutique.

“How do I look?” Nicole asked and without saying a word, he stood up and walked towards her and encircled his hands around her wa-ist.

“What will you say if I tell you that you look beautiful, not not beautiful but gorgeously beautiful hmmm?” He asked and she played with her fingers.

“I would just say ‘thank you’ ” she smiled and he pinched her cheek lightly.

“Baby you have to pay for my compliment, it’s not free.” Camdan said, looking at her l-ips. The way she bit or lick it every time gives him a huge turn up but he was trying his possible best to control himself from dragging her into the dressing room to f*** her mercilessly.

“So what price do I have to pay?” She asked and he pecked her l-ips.

“How about we go three rounds tonight?” he asked reluctantly.

Nicole’s eyes w¡dened immediately she heard that. Did she just hear him say three rounds? Two rounds was the highest she has ever done with her ex.

“What is it?, Is there something wrong?” he asked again and she shook her head slowly.

“I can’t go three rounds Cam, I can only go for two.” She pouted her l-ips.

“Well, that’s because you’ve never tried it, don’t worry I will go easy on it. I won’t eat you too much even though you are one sweet candy.” he said with a chuckle.

She hit his chest and hid her face on it and he let out a throaty chuckle.

“Is somebody shy? baby don’t tell me you are shy. Baby look at me.” he said but she shook her head sideways and he let out a loud laughter.

THE NEXT DAY*

“Baby what are we doing here?” Josh asked Asha as they stood in front of her restaurant.

“This is my work place, what do you expect?” She said and he remained quiet but broke the silence after a while.

“I thought you resigned from being a waitress, why are we here?”

Asha scoffed, “I wasn’t born with a silver spoon so I still work here, just because I haven’t been to work for over a week now, doesn’t mean I don’t work here anymore.” she said.

Josh looked at the restaurant and gasped loudly.

“Baby don’t tell me, you want me to work for you again? It was horrible the last time, please don’t do it to me again.” He whined and Asha laughed loudly but quickly sobered up.

“Don’t worry, we are just here to see someone ok?”

“What someone?” he asked but Asha placed a quick k-ss on his l-ips and he pouted.

“You ask too many questions Josh, Just follow me.” She dragged him along with her into the restaurant.

She smiled when she laid her eyes on Josh’s mom, who was sitting at the end of the restaurant.

They both walked over to where his mom was seated but Josh was facing Asha.

“Ok, you are about to see the shock of your life now so don’t freak out ok?”

“What shock?” he asked, then he followed Asha’s gaze and suddenly he turned into someone whose feet were glued to the floor.

“Mom?!” He called.
