(Bradford Hospital)
As Mrs Bill pace round the hospital,her heart was beating fast and she keep on praying. She couldn’t rest,,
Andrew’s Mother,Felicia was present too,,Sarah was in her house when suddenly she scre-med out and went into labor. The two old women had to rush her to the hospital here,,,
” Where is Nicholas? Have you even informed him at all??” Andrew’s mother asked curiously
” I have,,He’s on his way ” Mrs Bill responded still pacing
” You need to calm down,,she will be fine ” Felicia said
” I can’t calm down,,it’s almost two hours since we got here ” Mrs Bill snapped
Just then,the doctor appeared and she ran to him.
” Doctor please tell me what’s going on,,we’ve been waiting for hours ” Mrs Bill said almost in tears
” Can I see you in my office??” The doctor asked
” No,,Doctor,,talk to me here please”
The doctor sighed,,
” I’m sorry Mrs Bill,,,we really tried our best,,,but,,,,,,”
” But what!!!” Mrs Bill scre-med and grabbed the doctor
” We lost her ” The doctor announced and she fell down flat
” What about the baby??” Felicia was the one who asked
” I’m sorry ,,,we lost them both” The doctor replied and Felicia gasped
” No!!!!!!!!!!!” Mrs Bill scre-med out in pain
” What will I tell Nicholas?? My son is going to die if he hear this,,,how can none of them survive this?? How??? ” Mrs Bill cried out
” This is not the time to cry now,,,”
” What else can I do?? They are gone” Mrs Bill sniffed standing up from the floor
” I have an idea,,,only if you can do it” Felicia said and then whispered into Mrs Bill’s ear
” Are you sure this is going to work out?? I just don’t want My son to die of depression,what if he later find out??”
” Are you going to tell him? Of course not ” Felicia said
” Okay,,,I will do anything for my son. ”
The two women walked into another ward,,,as Felicia said ,they met the lady crying her eyes out.
She had just given birth to a set of twins,,,her husband will never forgive her if he gets to know she gave birth to twins.
They are young couples,,poor to be precised. They only decided to let the child grow because people were talking about the wife being a barren already.
The husband wasn’t ready to be a father,,he claimed that he have to work and become rich before he can think of having kids.
But unfortunately for them,their first try resulted into a set of Twins.

The lady was surprised to see them,they are strange.
” Who are you two?” She asked trying to wipe her tears
” We need your help,,,,and trust us. If you can do it,,,we are gonna give you a huge amount of money. We are rich ” Felicia spoke up and the woman moved from the bed
” What can I do for you?” She asked
” The doctor told us what happened,,,,we were told you are not happy about the twins,,” Mrs Bill said and Felicia tapped her
” Am not,,,my husband and I planned to have one baby at a time. We won’t be able to take care of them if they are two ” The woman replied
Mrs Bill broke into tears And expkained their predicament to her,,
” So,,what can I do for you??” She asked
” We want you to sell one of your twins for us,,,” Felicia said
” I am willing to do that without argument,,,,but you have to pay me ” The woman saud
” Just mention how much you want,,it’s done ”
” 200$,,will you be able to pay that??” The woman asked
Mrs Bill and Felicia faced each other in shock
How can she sell off a baby for just 200$?? They must be so poor,,,
” I will give you 2000$” Mrs Bill said and the woman gasped
” 2000$??? Please are you going to take the two?”
” No,,just one ”
” Take the girl,,,I will take care of my son with this money. Trust me ” The lady said in tears

Nicholas drove in roughly into the hospital,,he got down and ran in.
He was directed into the ward by one of the nurses,,
” Where is Sarah??” That was what he asked immediately he got in
Mrs Bill sighed
” Tell me!!” He yelled.
” Son,,,,,,”
He ignored her and moved to the bed where Sarah’s lifeless body was laid. They are only waiting for him to see her for the last time,,
Nicholas removed the white cloth from her face and his eyes w¡dened,,
” Is she sleeping??” He asked trying not to believe what he was thinking
The nurses and doctor present kept quiet while Mrs Bill was trying to control her tears,,
” Tell me,,she’s sleeping right? I guess she must be so stressed that she’s sleeping this much” Nicholas added and took her hand
” Honey,,,I’m here. Open your eyes,,,” Nicholas said but it was followed by total silence
The doctor moved closer to him and tapped his back
” Mr Bill,,you have to take heart. I’m sorry ”
Nicholas looked at him angrily with a red eyes
” What are you talking about?? Tell me what’s going on ”
” Son,,,Sarah is gone ” Mrs Bill said in tears
” What do you mean by gone??”
” She’s dead!!” Mrs Bill scre-med and broke into another round of tears
Nicholas blinked his tears out trying hærd to breathe,,,,
Sarah is really gone,,he could feel it. She was so cold in his hand,,,,she’s dead. The poor girl is gone,,,,,
The poor girl who he loved more than any other thing in the world is gone,,the poor girl who had no parents,,he was the only family she had. And he promised to build a large family with her,,,but everything is gone.
” Sarah!!!!!!!!!!!!” Nicholas scre-med out as tears rushed down his eyes
” Please don’t do this to.me,,,you can’t leave me,,,,,,Sarah,,,arghh!!!” Nicholas cried and fell on the floor
The doctor immediately gave the nurses a sign,,they carried her dead body away while Nicholas cried his eyes out.
” What,,,what about the baby??” He asked the doctor.
The doctor faced Mrs Bill and she gave him a go ahead
” She’s safe sir,,,it’s a girl” He smiled
” A girl???” Nicholas asked
Mrs Bill immediately carried the baby and dropped it on Nicholas hand,,,he let out a sad smile.
” She’s pretty,,,,,like Sarah ” He said in tears
” But why did she Have to leave us,,,,why is life so unfair?? You promised to be the best mother in the world,,why did you fail your promise,,why??” Nicholas keep on crying
END OF FLASHBACK ✍️
Kimberly was in tears as Mrs Bill completed her story,,,
” That was heartbreaking,,,but still mother,,,it’s unfair. How will brother take the news now,,,,it’s six years already,,,,,,,”
As they were talking,,the door opened revealing Nicholas and Kristen.
Nicholas eyes were red,,obviously he had been crying.
The two got up instantly ,
” Tell me,,,everything you said,,,,it’s all lies right??’ Nicholas asked
” Son,,,,,,,,,” Mrs Bill tried moving to him
” Don’t come closer,,,,” He stopped her
” You,,,,made me a complete fool,,,,,for six years,,,,what type of mother are you??” Nicholas said trying all he could to control his tears
” Son,,,I was only worried about you. I did everything because of you,,,try to understand,,,”
” ,,,,,understand what?? That I’ve been taking care of someone else’s child for six years?!!! Thinking she’s mine,,,how could you,,,,how,,,,,”
” Son please listen,,,,,”
” Don’t call me that,,,,” Nicholas snapped and walked out.
Kristen who was in tears already shook her head and then followed Nicholas.

Silence took over the car as they drove back home,,Kristen on the other hand tried her best to say something but she couldn’t,scared of making him more mad. His face right now is not inviting,,,
But she was getting impatient as Nicholas keep on driving in a higher speed each seconds,she had to speak up.
” You are going to get us killed,,what the hell??” She half yelled but he ignored her ,she rolled her eyes,she was expecting him to ignore her anyway.
” Seriously,,,you need to calm down. I know you are hurt about everything,,but I’m sure she did that because she love you. And besides,,,,,,” She was cut off when the car stopped and Nicholas got down from car,that was when she realized they are already.
“Like seriously? He ignored what i was saying” she sighed and also got down from the car following Nicholas.
He ignored everyone who greeted him as they entered the mansion,,
‘This dude is something else’ Kristen thought
” Daddy!!!”
That’s Jenna rushing down the stairs,,But she was taken by surprise with the way Nicholas ignored her completely and went upstairs.
Kristen stood still instantly seeing the shock on Jenna’s face
‘Does he really have to do that?’ She thought
” What happened to daddy??” Jenna asked sadly almost in tears
Kristen moved closer to her
” You don’t have to worry about him,,daddy is a little bit tired,,so he need some rest for now okay?” Kristen tried to convince her but Jenna shook her head
” No nanny,,,I know him. He will never ignore me no matter how tired he is,,he will never ignore me. He didn’t even take a glance at me,,,” Jenna said
‘Oh Christ,,what should I tell her?’
” Jenna,,,you need to understand right now. He’s really stressed,,that’s why. I am sure he’s gonna come to you when he’s okay” Kristen smiled and touched her cheek
” I’m going to him,,maybe I can make him feel better,,,’ Jenna smiled
” No,,you can’t. Trust me this once,it’s not a good idea if you go to him for now. Don’t worry,he will come to you,,,but not now ” Kristen said
” I trust you,,but am worried about him. He look sad ” Jenna sighed
” Don’t worry about him,,,please” Kristen said
Jenna nodded
They both went upstairs,,
” Have you seen Iris?” Kristen asked
” She’s in her room ” Jenna replied
“Okay,,can you go to her? I need to take care of something” Kristen said to Jenna and she nodded.
Kristen sighed watching Jenna as she walked away,,she then turned back and went to Nicholas.
She moved straight to him,,
” Nicholas,,,seriously that was absolutely wrong. That kid have nothing to do with all these,,why did you have to shun her that way? Right now she’s sad and worried about you,I had to convince her,,,,”
” Do I look like I care?? I don’t” Nicholas replied taking another long sip from the alcoholic wine in his hand.
Kristen scoffed and grabbed the bottle from him,,
” You think this is the solution to what is happening ? You need to wake up,,”
” Kristen,I want to be alone. Please” Nicholas said gently
Kristen dropped the bottle on the table and held his cheeks
” I know exactly what you’re passing through right now,,I know you’re hurt. But,,it doesn’t change anything anymore,,even if you drink and get drunk. You’re definitely going to remember everything in the morning,,you should just accept it this way. Jenna,,,is your child,,,”
” No,,she’s not. She’s not in anyway related to me,,my blood is not running in her body. How is she mine?? She’s not ” Nicholas shook his head and a tear dropped from his eyes but he looked away and wiped it off.
” You can’t deny her anymore Nick,,are you going to tell her right now that you’re not her dad? You can’t do that,,she’s just a kid. She’s not at fault here,,” Kristen said trying to convince him
” You think I will ever forget this,,,each time I see her from now,,,am definitely going to remember that she’s someone else’s child,,,that kid,,is not even a drop of my blood,just a drop. She’s not” Nicholas said
” You can’t let her go now,,,,”
” Says who??”
Kristen gasped and moved back
” Are you kidding me?? Where will you take her to??” She asked
” Who else? She have parents right?” Nicholas scoffed and took the bottle again
” I don’t think you’re in your right sense ,,,six years!! Six f**king years,you’ve acted like her father,her mother,her everything,you loved her like your child,you gave her everything,are you just going to throw everything away like that?? ”
” I don’t mind throwing those six years away,,it doesn’t change any damn from what I have”
” I know it doesn’t,,but Nick,what about your love for her?? What about her love for you? Are you going to really let her go? Even if you’re pretending right now,,I know you do love her”
” I want to be alone Kristen,,just leave me alone please. ” Nicholas said
” You really want me to leave?” She asked
” You’re even making me mad more,,” Nicholas replied
” Fine then,,,I will leave. I just hope you get yourself back very soon. Goodnight” Kristen said and picked his cheek before leaving the room
As soon as she left,,Nicholas couldn’t control his tears any longer. He sat down on the floor crying his eyes out,,
To him,it would have been better if they had told him the bad news at once,six years ago. By now,his heartbreak would have healed up.
But finding out the truth now,,only added salt to his wound. He had forgotten about Sarah all thanks to Kristen,he wanted to make a happy family with Kristen and Jenna,but everything is shattered now.
His heartbreak is back,,in a wh0le double portion of it. He couldn’t even think of anything else,,he was a fool for a long time without noticing.
Andrew was right,,He’s a fool,,

” Is daddy okay now??” Jenna asked Kristen as they both slept together
” Hmm” Kristen replied
She was restless thinking about Nicholas,,
‘Is he okay now? What if he still went ahead to drink?? What do I do right now??’ Her mind was filled with his thoughts until the two fell asleep.

NEXT MORNING ✍️

” Jenna,,that’s enough let’s leave ” Kristen said
Jenna have been knocking on Nicholas’s door for minutes but there was no response
” But I want to see him,,I want to see if he’s fine now ” Jenna pouted
Kristen sighed and brush her hair to the back right her hand,,
Just then the door opened and Nicholas came out,,he looked at Kristen and then Jenna,his mood not bright.
” Daddy,,,,,”
” I’m not in the mood to talk Jenna ” He snapped and went downstairs
Kristen’s eyes followed him angrily,,,
Jenna turned to Kristen and then broke into tears,
