Kristen opened the door slowly and was surprised to see Nicholas about going out,,it’s Jenna’s birthday and she could remember them planning together few weeks ago to spend the day together.
” Where are you going?” Kristen asked
” I have an important stuff to do” Nicholas replied
” Important stuff? Nick,,it’s Jenna’s birthday. Is that stuff more important to you than your child??”
” She’s not,,,,,gosh,,,I don’t want to say the word okay?? ” Nicholas replied
” You know you’re being unfair now right? For damn sake,you can’t continue doing this to that innocent girl. You’ve changed to her and the kid noticed it,now she’s even scared to look into your eyes,why Nick,come on,you need to pull yourself together and let’s sort things out,please,,”
Nicholas ignored her and moved to the door,,
” I’m going to leave,,,if you leave this house right now,,you won’t meet me when you get back ,,,I mean it,,I will leave” Kristen said hoping he’s going to stop
Nicholas didn’t stop,he walked out of the room
” Nicholas!!” Kristen called out watching him going down the stairs.
She rolled her eyes and walked to Jenna’s room,,she was awake already with a sad face.
” Oh Jenna,,you’re awake. Morning,,happy birthday to the most beautiful Angel in world,,,” Kristen stopped when she noticed Jenna’s expression didn’t change
” Jenna,,what’s happening? Why is your face like that? You should be happy,it’s your birthday” Kristen said calmly
” Daddy,,wouldn’t wish me a happy birthday,” Jenna spoke up at the point of tears
” Where did you hear that? Of course he will,,he will be back with a lot of surprise trust me,,,,”
” You don’t have to lie to me nanny,,I heard everything you talked about. He said he have an important stuff to do,,,,,daddy doesn’t love me anymore. He doesn’t,,,” She finally broke down
Kristen sighed and hugged her
” Don’t say that Jenna,,daddy loves you. He just have alot of things on his mind recently,,He love you,,”
” No,,,I know him,,,he never missed my birthday,,by now,,he would have changed my wardrobe,he would have bought me different shoes and things,he always spend all day with me no matter how busy he is,,,,,,,”
Kristen hugged her more tightly fighting back her tears,
” I’m sorry Jenna,,I don’t know what to say. You’re such a smart kid,,but the truth is,,,daddy loves you,always remember that okay?? And now,,,he really need your prayers,,will you like to pray for him??” Kristen asked
Jenna nodded instantly
They both fell on their knees and faced the bed,,
” Jenna,go on ” Kristen said
” Dear Lord,,,please,I want daddy to become happy so he can love me again and talk to me,,Amen ” .
” Amen ” Kristen also added even though she was in tears inwardly
” That was amazing Jenna,,” Kristen said and k-ssed her cheek,but Jenna broke into tears
” Jenna come on,,,you can’t cry like this on your birthday. Please,,do you want me to cry too??”
Jenna keep on crying on her shoulder,,
” Jenna,,I have a surprise for you. If only you stop crying”
” I don’t want it,,,,I want my daddy ” Jenna shook her head
” We need to start preparing you Jenna,,your friends will be here soon. You need to dress up,,I got you the most beautiful dress you’ve ever seen,trust me Jenna,” Kristen said and her face brighten a little
” Can I see now?”
” No,,your bath first” Kristen smiled and they both went into the bathroom.

” Happy Birthday Jenna!!!!!!!!” The kids all exclaimed immediately Jenna showed up and her face brightened happily seeing her friends
The kids all rushed to give her a hug
” Hey kids,,you can’t press her that way,let her breathe” The teacher stopped them
” Wow Jenna,your house is really big” A boy said running round the living room
” It’s not bigger than mine ” Aly spoke up
” That’s not true,,Jenna’s house is bigger,I’ve seen your house countless times” Alex spoke up and Aly rolled her eyes
” You should just give up Aly” Joel said and scoff
” Its okay kids,,don’t fight. We are here to celebrate Jenna’s birthday” The teacher said
” Jenna where is your mom?? ” A girl asked
” I am hungry,,I didn’t eat specially for this” Another boy said and they all laughed including the teacher
Just then Kristen showed up also dressed elegantly,,,,
” It’s Jenna’s mom!!!!!” The kids shouted and ran to her
” Thank you all for coming to Jenna’s birthday,,and trust me it’s gonna be all fun,,,”
” We want to eat your food !!!!” The kids chorused
” Of course you will,,you should be patient” Kristen smiled
” Can’t wait!!”
They all proceeded to where the party will be taking place,,a heart warming music playing. Even the maids are not left out,they were all dressing nicely.
Iris also looked good even with the simple outfit she was putting on,,
” Kids,,come on have fun!!” The disc jockey announced happily and the kids scre-med happily as they all play around.
It was all decorated in a kiddy manner,everywhere was filled up with lot of playful things kids enjoy doing.
Everyone was having fun all together,,
” Hey Jenna,,I love your dress it’s pretty” Joel said
” Thanks Joel,,” Jenna smiled
” Jenny is really missing a lot right now,,,she was crying when mom I left home.” Joel said
His sister who is Jenna’s best friend is sick and just recovering,
” Jenna!! You are pretty,,I love your dress. ” Alex joined them
” I told her that already” Joel said
” You didn’t tell me I’m pretty” Jenna teased
” Oh that’s true ” Joel chuckled
” Wow,,your hair too ” Alex said and touched her hair
” Don’t spoil the hairstyle,,,,I am sure her mom did a lot of work before doing that” Joel stopped him
” You should allow Jenna talk,,it’s her not you ” Alex snapped
” It’s candle blowing time!!!!!” A voice shouted
” Yeah!!!!!!”
Jenna stood up happily and walked to the front

” At the spelling of her name,,,she’s going to blows out the candle,,let’s go”
” J!!!!!! E!!!! N!!! N!!!!! A!!!!”
At that she blows out the candle light and they all clapped
” Come here baby” Kristen ooened her arms wide and hugged Jenna.
🎤 Now Jenna,,you have to cut a piece of the cake and give the person you like most. Let’s see you do that
The kids all clapped and became silent as they watch Jenna cutting the cake gently with her tiny hands.
Joel and Alex on the other hand are arguing already,,
” She’s going to give me ” Alex said
” I am sure it’s me” Joel replied
” Watch ”
After cutting the cake,,Jenna walked directly to Kristen
” Wow!!!!!” The kids all said
Kristen smiled and opened her mouth for Jenna,,,,
🎤 That was awesome,,let’s clap for Jenna
” Good thing,,,I don’t want her to give you” Alex said to Joel
” Same here,it’s better that way ” Joel scoffed
Aly who sat down beside them shook her head as she heard their arguments,
🎤 It’s time to give the celebrant our gifts,,,,,
” Kids,,let’s do it one after the other please” The teacher said
They all gave her their gifts and hugging her in the process,,,..including the maids.
When it was Alex’s turn,,after handing over the gift,,he k-ssed her cheek
” Wow,,!” The kids all scre-med
Kristen let out a chuckle seeing Jenna’s red cheeks
“That’s crazy ” Kristen muttered
Joel on the other hand joined the line again after seeing Alex k-ssed Jenna’s cheek
When he got to her,,
” But Joel,,you’ve given her your gift” Kristen spoke up
” I want to k-ss her too ” Joel said and Kristen raised her brow
” Really??”
Joel nodded and k-ssed her cheek before going back to sit down
” Copy cat ” Alex rolled his eyes
After the gift,,,,they all eat and began to have fun.

They were at the middle of having fun when Iris phone rang out from where she sat down watching the kids playing around.
She was almost shocked to see Max calling her
” What does he want?” She ignored the call
But it keeps on ringing out and then she picked the call
” Iris,,,”
” What do you want Max?”
” I’m at your gate,,come out please I want to see your face ”
” Gate?? How the hell did you know where I stay?” She asked
” I will tell you if you come out,please”
” Just leave,,I don’t want to see anyone ” Iris repkied
” Iris please,,”
She hanged up and roughed her hair
As much as she wanted to ignore him,,he keep on coming all over her head.
She sighed and stood up,,,she couldn’t find Kristen so she left.
She got outside and opened the gate,,,he was there. He smiled the moment Iris came out
” Thank goodness you came ,,,,” He said
” What do you want? I need to go back in before my sister discover my absence” Iris said
” I missed you alot,,” He spoke up after some seconds
” I was in school yesterday ”
” But you didn’t talk to me,,,”
” Because we have nothing to talk about okay?? I need to go back in,,,I don’t want her to look for me ” Iris said
Max hold her hand stopping her
” Iris I like you,,,,” He said she Iris’s eyes went wide
” What??”
” I like you Iris,,I know it’s kind of silly. But I really like you so much,,I tried to neglect the feelings but it keep on growing. I need to tell you,,,,I want you to be my girlfriend,,don’t say no please. I know you may probably hate me now,because of my brother. But trust me,I am not like him,,we are two different people,,,,,let’s just focus on ourselves and leave our family out of this,,,,”
Iris was quiet and speechless,,,she really wanted to hate him but still she finds it so hærd to do.
” Max,,,,,,,” she called in a silent voice as he moved closer to her and held her cheeks.
She felt so helpless in his hand,,even though she wanted to push him away.
She couldn’t,,she stood still watching as he learned closer to her face almost k-ssing her,,
” Iris??” Kristen’s voice stopped them and Max moved back
Kristen’s eyes w¡dened up immediately she saw them but was more shocked when she saw Max,,,
” What is happening here??” She asked angrily
” It’s nothing Kristen,,,”
” Who is he??” Kristen faced Iris
” I’m,,,,,”
” He’s nobody ” Iris cut Max off and he was shocked
” Go in Iris,,since you said he’s nobody” Kristen said
Iris went back in
” You have such guts to come here ? Doing that here? You’re not different from your brother,,,stay away from My sister,,do you get that?? Now leave,,”
” But miss ,I love your sister alot. Trust me,,I am different from my brother,,I really like Iris ” Max said
” Do you want me to call the cops?? Get lost ”
” I promise,,I will do anything for you to accept me. I love her so much and I’m not giving up” Max said before going into the car and then drove off
Kristen scoffed snd then went in,,she met Iris pacing in the living room.
” What was all that about Iris,,how could you bring a boy here?? ”
” That’s not true,,I didn’t bring him. He came by himself,,,I’m not going to see him again. I’ve made up my mind ” Iris said
” You attend the same school,I wonder how you won’t see him” Kristina scoffed
Iris sighed and was quiet
” Go to your room and start packing your stuffs,,we are leaving the mansion after the party” Kristen said and walked away

As Kristen laid on the bed staring at the ceiling,she sighed and took her phone again,,she was tempted to call Nicholas but then she dropped it again.
‘He’s so cold’ She thought
He didn’t even tried looking for her or calling her,,
‘It was you who asked him not to look for you girl’ her mind whispered and she scoffed
” Even at that?” She mumbled and bite her l-ips
She had moved to the other mansion with Iris and Jenna hoping Nicholas will become himself again when he feels their absence,,
She was still thinking when the door opened and her mother came in,,She was able to convince her to stay with them even though it took them few days to convince her.
” Kristen,,I’ve been calling you. It’s time for dinner,,come on ” Mrs Craig said
” I will join you mom,,what about Jenna? Is she okay?” Kristen asked
” She’s fine,,,but are you sure you don’t want to call your boyfriend?? I hate this mood of yours,two wrongs can’t nake a right,,one of you have to,,,”
” Then that should be him not me” Kristen snapped
” You’re just punishing yourself Kristen,I can see it in your eyes. ”
” Fine mom,,,I miss him. I do,,but I won’t talk to him until he act like a man he claims to be. For damn sake,,”
” No curse words here,,no,,”
Kristen was about talking when she suddenly sat up from the bed and rushed into the bathroom leaving Mrs Craig confused until she heard her throwing up in the restroom.
Minutes later Kristen came back
” What was that??” Mrs Craig asked
” It’s nothing,,I think I am a little bit sick,,been throwing up for days and sleeping too. I will just get some drugs tomorrow” Kristen replied and fell back on the bed.
Mrs Craig wasn’t satisfied with her reply,
” Are you sure it’s just a sickness and nothing else?” She asked
” Don’t worry about me mom,,I will be fine. I just need to sleep,” Kristen said
” But you haven’t even eaten yet”
” I Don’t have an appetite,,,” She replied and closed her eyes
Mrs Craig shook her head and then exit the room,,,
” Granny!! Where is nanny?” Jenna asked loudly
” She’s taking a rest,,come on,let’s eat ”
” But I want to eat with her” Jenna pouted
” Not today okay? You can eat with me too ” Mrs Craig replied
They both walked to the dinning table,,,she noticed Jenna’s mood and touched her hair which she removed almost immediately.
” Jenna,,,you’re running temperature badly. Why didn’t you tell me??” Mrs Craig asked
” I don’t know” Jenna muttered
” Okay,,how are you feeling??” She asjed
” My head hurts,,,,,” Jenna replied
” Okay,,Eat up. I will give you some pills after that ” Mrs Craig said and patted her back

NEXT DAY****
There was silence on the table as the two friends had a drink together silently,,Tim keep on staring at Nicholas who have been quiet.
His face was so dull,Tim finally sighed and spoke up.
“I don’t think you can do this anymore dude,,just go to her. You look like you’re going to die anytime soon” Tim said
“I feel so down,I don’t know what to think about. I miss her alot” Nicholas said
“You miss her,then go to her. Stop proving hærd dude,,you can’t live without her” Tim scoffed and took a sip from his glass
“Or you don’t want to go to her because of Jenna?? If you don’t want her,,then try looking for her biological parents and give her back. Though I doubt if that kid will ever leave you,,,are you even sure she’s not your child? You two look alike and she’s got your silly attitudes” Tim teased and Nicholas rolled his eyes
” But I still can’t believe Kristen really left,,how the hell did she do that?”
Nicholas chuckled

FLASHBACK
Nicholas got back from the office and entered the mansion,,he noticed it was somehow silent. As he was thinking about it,Shane called him .
” I’m sorry sir,but there’s a note for you” He said
” From who??”
” Mam Kristen” Shane replied and Nicholas took the wrapped up paper from him.
“DON’T LOOK FOR ME TILL YOU GET YOUR SENSE BACK”
Nicholas scoffed and threw it off almost angrily and went upstairs.
Maybe he had thought she was joking earlier in the morning

” Wow,,that’s crazy ” Tim said
Nicholas sighed not knowing what exactly to think of,,but the truth is he really miss them. He wouldn’t admit that he missed Jenna but in his mind,he knew he missed her.
They were still talking when Nicholas’s phone rang out,,he checked the caller and couldn’t believe he had took the phone immediately expecting Kristen
Tim noticed his mood
” who is it??” He asked
” It’s Shane ”
Tim laughed
” Forget it dude,,she’s not gonna call you. Just let down your ego and go to her before you die young” Tim teased
Nicholas called Shane back
” Boss ” Shane called
” Talk Shane”
” There’s a problem boss,,,Mam Kristen just called me. I think Jenna is seriously sick,,,” Shane didn’t finish his statement when Nicholas got up instantly
” What happened to Jenna??” Nicholas asked
” Boss,,,”
” Answer me!” He yelled at Shane
” She’s sick,,and have been admitted to a hospital. I will send you the address right away ” Shane said amd hanged up
” What happened to Jenna??” Tim also stood up
Nicholas was quiet as he stared at his phone,,he waited for Shane’s message before facing Tim.
” I will see you later Tim,,Jenna is sick. I need to see her ” Nicholas said and without waiting,he rushed out
” Thought he said he doesn’t care about the kid any longer” Tim shook his head watching him leave.

Nicholas locked the car up in rush and ran into the hospital,,the nurses seems shocked to see him
” Mr Bill!!”
” What room is Jenna Bill??” Nicholas asked ignoring their scre-ms
” Oh,,that kid is your,,,”
” Don’t waste my time,take me to her ” Nicholas snapped
One of them immediately directed him to the ward,,he nodded and ran in.
Kristen was sitting down on the chair when he entered,,she was surprised,she never expected him to be that fast.
He didn’t even notice her presence as he rushed to Jenna whose eyes were closed on the bed.
He took her tiny hand into his
” Jenna,,,are you okay?? Please talk to me,,,open your eyes,,I’m here,,,daddy is here ”
Kristen raised her brow as she watched Nicholas in tears,,
” Just wake up,,,I promise never to leave you on your own again,,I love you,,,,please open your eyes,,” Nicholas added
Jenna opened her eyes and was shocked to see him
” Daddy??” She called and Nicholas looked up immediately
” Jenna,,are you okay?” He asked
” Of course daddy,,I’m fine. I was having just a mere headache” Jenna smiled and Nicholas was speechless as he sat down tiredly
Shane lied to him,,,
He buried his face into his palm with a loud sigh
” Are you okay daddy??” Jenna asked
Nicholas nodded not knowing what to say,,,he was emotional for nothing. He wiped his tears and touched Jenna’s hair
” Are you okay now??” He asked
” Yes,,,are we leaving already?. I’m glad you’re back,,I missed you alot daddy” Jenna said
Nicholas sighed and nodded
” That was amazing Mr Bill!!” The voice took him by shock and he looked up only to find Iris and Shane clapping.
” What’s this??” He asked in almost a whisper
” For real,,I never believe you could run that way. I was praying inwardly so you won’t fall ” Shane teased and Nicholas chuckled
” It was really fast,,,” Iris added
” You shouldn’t have done that Shane ,,I thought it was really serious” Nicholas said
“Sorry boss,,,you don’t have to cry. Jenna is fine,,just a mere fever ” Shane smiled
” I’m okay daddy” Jenna said and hugged him
Shane and Iris walked out of the ward leaving Nicholas with Jenna and Kristen who have remained mute all through.
Nicholas faced her,,,
” I guess you will be going with him Jenna,,I need to take my leave too. ” Kristen said and pecked Jenna’s cheek
” Are you leaving me nanny? You promised never to leave,,let’s go back home together” Jenna cried
” Just go now Jenna,,,” Kristen said wiping Jenna’s tears
” Please daddy,tell Nanny to come with us ” Jenna said
Nicholas sighed,,,,,
“Kristen,,,,,”
“Don’t call my name,,,even if I have to come with you. It’s for Jenna,not you” She snapped
