His Majesty
Chapter nine
Darkness
We roamed the forest of darkness, the sunlight was burning our skin, the light was strong.
‘We must find a body before we fade away,’ we chorused. ‘The pain is too much, must find shade.’ First darkness said.
‘We must travel to the heart of the forest of darkness, we might find any dark creature to possess,’ second darkness suggested.
‘We certainly will,’ third darkness said. We sighed and flew under trees and stones, the darkness in the forest gave us little energy. We just need a body.
Sky
I gro-ned as the sunlight hit my eyes, I couldn’t open them, I looked away and opened them. I exhaled and touched my head, it felt light, really light like no one was sharing it with me. I sat up and dropped the w-t towel on my forehead and tilted my head in confusion.
‘I thought I was dead,’ I mused. I looked around my room, how did I get on the bed? How….
‘You’re awake!’ I looked to the sky floor, Nyx was in her father’s house. How did she see me? ‘I can feel your presence,’ she said with a smirk. Can she read minds now? ‘Nope, just temporarily have access to yours. I’ll be right there…’
‘You can’t come in here without my pe….’ She disappeared and appeared on my bed with folded legs. ‘How did….what’s going on?’
‘I got permission to use my full powers,’ she said grinningly.
‘What full powers?’
‘This one,’ she stood up and zipped the zipper at the back of her dress down. I gasped, that was the moon crest her father mentioned, it wasn’t just an ordinary moon crest. The moon was burning with flames, a secret writing on it. She inherited the powers of the late queens, how come?! ‘I don’t know what it is though.’
‘It means you inherited the powers of the Queens.’
‘How come? I’m not their daughter or anything or are we cousins?’ She asked turning around.
‘Nay!’ We said simultaneously. ‘That’ll be lame.’
‘Right?’ She asked in a whisper. I could see the fear on her face, she’s not my relative. She sat down. ‘Zip it up for me?’ I absent mindedly pulled her zipper back up and cracked my knuckles nervously.
‘It’s funny, my heart isn’t heavy again,’ I said softly. ‘Are they silent for now?’
‘No, I chased them out.’
‘What!!!!!!!’ I shouted at the top of my voice. She scre-med and flew away from me. ‘You did what!!!!’
‘Chase it a….’
‘The darkness can’t be free!!!! It would go deep into the heart of the darkness and possess the any of the demon birds!!!!’ She was trembling, I know it’s not her fault but she shouldn’t have. If I died, they would have died along with me. I threw the comforter away and moved to the floor. ‘Who told you to remove them!!!! If I wanted to remove them wouldn’t I have a long time ago?!!!’
‘I’m sorry, you were dying and I just….’
‘Get out!!! Get out before I….’ She disappeared. I scre-med and smashed the vase close to me. I could only take it in once. I looked at them as they made their way through the forest, once they got to the heart, I wouldn’t be able to stop them. Too late, they passed. ‘White!!!! White if there’s anytime to come out, come out now, please,’ I pleaded.
‘You just chased away the only person that can go to the place you will get your answers,’ I turned around and scoffed.
‘What games are you playing White and Gold? Why can’t you just stop this? I know you can.’
‘Heh heh,’ he chuckled. ‘If I couldn’t stop the crystal comic, what makes you think I can stop what is happening?’
‘Just tell him White, it’s about time he knows what is going on.’ Gold sighed.
‘Yes, please tell me.’ I sat down and folded my arms.
‘As you know, from generations to generations, all guardians rule on their own without getting rom-ntically attached to any mortal or getting involve at all….’ He trailed off, I nodded. ‘The law was first broken by Alexander, one of the most powerful guardians. He was never to have gotten s€×ually involved with a mortal but he did and that caused a huge problem before Raquelia, his daughter fixed it but what had been done was final and consequences needed to be paid. To make things worse, she fell in love with and married a human….’
‘Wasn’t he made for her?’
‘No, Genevieve bent the rules and created him for her but she had no idea because if she did, she wouldn’t have been with him. From there, three other guardians broke the rules and that includes your father…’
‘Mom was given to her….’
‘To bore you who will fix the problem but if you remember correctly, she has Zanludan blood running through her veins and I’m not talking about her. Your father’s secret mistake wasn’t falling in love or getting married, his mistake was shooting down one of the spirit stars.’
‘Spirit stars? The powerful inanimate forms that represent the lives of every guardians of all realms?’ He nodded. ‘Why would he shoot one down?’
‘He was two and naive, he thought he saw a ghost and shot the unlucky star thereby cutting short the life of another guardian, he didn’t even know he hit his target. The guardian died and that was where his trouble rose. Many things had gone out of order, too much and that disorder created the dark crystal comic, to wipe off the guardians and tear each realm apart. The order of older gods, guardians and great beasts sat and discussed the issue. Raquelia couldn’t be punished for her good deeds and sincere heart was the greatest amongst all guardians ever born so she was freed and used to help lead your mother to the right way. I cannot tell you more than this but the darkness will find the beast of the crystal comic, a being of too much power, one that neither Gold nor I or the other beasts could defeat so we trapped him there. He’s more than a demon dragon, he’s the slayer of everything good. Aurora saw this coming, she knew that he was more powerful, too much for you since you would foolishly abode the darkness so she and Queen Luna passed their powers to the Ostrazian girl, her soul was the only one strong enough to contain both.’
‘That’s why they died? There didn’t have their powers,’ he nodded. ‘No wonder, I was wondering how possible it was for them to did so easily. What must I do?’
‘The isolated realm, a realm which is like limbo, no guardian, gods or beasts can step their feet in there but Nyx can. Queen Luna sort the help of her twin who gave her a powerful orb which her mother the winter witch of Raquelia’s realm once used to revive her own mother, Arabel.’
‘That orb with a couple of other things gathered from the 53 realms have given her the right to cross over.’ Gold explained.
‘What will she be doing there?’
‘There’s a being living in there, one as old as time itself, one as old as existence. It is the opposite of The Dark Dragon and the only one who can stop it but it must be awaken from it slumber.’
‘Isn’t that realm dangerous?’
‘Oh it is, very. In fact Nyx might die in there but I believe she’ll be fine. Gold has a long level of tolerance and shapeshifting ability, as long as her feet don’t touch the ground or her body don’t fly on air, she’ll be fine. She’ll go with Nyx and find this beast, she has five to seven days before the beast awakens. Your time starts now.’
‘And what are you suppose to be doing?’ I asked lowly.
‘Preparing a backup plan. For a life as powerful as his to be taken, certain sacrifice must be made,’ he looked away. I understood what he meant.
‘White…’
‘You need not worry young King, the moment anything is to go bad, Gold would pull her out and plan B shall be worked on. I hope this is not the last time we see again….’
Nyx
I looked down at the sea below the mountain in tears, I teleported there after he yelled at me, I was only trying to help. I wiped my eyes as I sobbed, it hurts so bad that he yelled at me, I was only trying to save his life.
‘I didn’t do anything wrong,’
‘I know,’ I gasped as his hands slid down my shoulders and his chin rest on my head. ‘I’m very sorry, for yelling at you.’
‘I didn’t know, I didn’t want you to die so I just did what I did to save you.’ I wailed.
‘And I was just upset, I’m very sorry I made you cry again after vowing never to, forgive me?’ He whispered. I shook my head negatively, he removed his chin from my head and rest it on my left shoulder. ‘Please my love?’
‘I’m not your love, leave me alone.’ I cried.
‘What do I do to make it up to you?’
‘Nothing, get your hands off me!’ I yelled trying to push his hands off me. He was hugging me from behind, his hands over my shoulders and imprisoning my head.
‘Please,’ he whispered and k-ssed my neck, my weak s₱0t. ‘I promise never to yell like that without thinking it through….’
‘In other words, you can yell at me after thinking it through,’ I scoffed. ‘Nice try.’
‘You know we’ll still fight one day, relationsh¡ps are like that.’
‘We’re not dating.’ I deadpanned.
‘I like to think we are because that’s the truth. You’re mine Nyx and mine alone. Do you think I’ll let you go with someone else?’ I giggled and s-ckered on my lower lip. ‘Forgive me?’
‘One condition,’ he turned me around and imprisoned my wa-ist. ‘You already know the condition?’
‘I always know,’ with that, he crashed his l-ips on mine. ‘I would have taken you to my bed but for now, you have to remain pure for what you must do.’ He said telepathically as we k-ssed.
‘What?’
‘Can you risk your life to save me, you and everyone else?’ I broke the k-ss and stare into his eyes. ‘You have to travel somewhere you might die in and bring back someone that might kill you.’
‘To stop the darkness?’
‘And save every living soul, five to seven days left and you’re leaving with the beast of Zanludan.’
‘I don’t understand,’ he touched my head, words flew into my head like a message from someone explaining everything. He removed his hands. ‘If I do it, I might die but if I don’t do it, everyone including me will certainly die.’ I said with a knowing smile.
‘Are you sure?’ He asked worriedly.
‘Either way, I might die so why not do it and save me the stress.’ What the hell, I could swear Thunderbolt and Goldelia was the one explaining.
