Philip came downstairs immediately
“Here, the files” he said, handing them over to Kat
Robin went straight to the dinning room
Kat took the files and carried her bag
“I’ll be on my way sir” she said with a bow and started walking out
“Hey, don’t forget to vomit it when you get home” Robin said from the dinning
Kat looked back at him and frowned
He returned the frown before Kat finally left
Philip joined him in the dinning room and the maids came with the food
Serving started
“What were you telling her to vomit?’ Philip asked
“You don’t have to know daddy, it’s a secret” Robin replied and winked
“Have you written your assignments?” Philip asked
” Trust me Mr Albert” Robin replied
Philip smiled widely
“Of course, let’s eat” he said
They started eating but immediately Robin tasted the food, he spit it all out
“Water!, Water!, Water!!!” He scre-med, his eyes is like he’ll pass out anytime soon
Philip quickly passed him water and he gulped it down but he didn’t stop shouting and scratching his body at the same time…
All the twelve maids assembled, watching Robin who’s still busy scratching his body
“Did you guys add carrots in his rice?” Philip asked, holding Robin
A maid stepped forward, trembling
“It was a mistake sir, we cooked his own separately and didn’t add carrots but maybe yours got mistakenly mixed with his own during serving, I served it sir” she said shakily
” And how could you make such a filthy mistake when you know my son is allergic to carrots!, You know his body reacts by itching anytime he takes it but….oh God!” Philip yelled, running upstairs with Robin in his arms…
Robin is already crying, still scratching his body badly
The visible parts of his body is all red as a result
Philip got the pill from his drawer and put it in Robin’s mouth
He got water from the water dispenser in his dressing room
Robin took the drug with it
He calmed down afterwards and all his body redness dissappeared
“I’m sorry boy” Philip said, holding his cheeks and wiping the trace of tears on his face
” It’s not your fault dad, I just need you to fire the maid who served my food” he replied
” Done” Philip replied and pecked him before going back downstairs with him
The maid is not there anymore
“She left already sir” one of the remaining eleven maids said
” Good thing she knows what to do” Robin replied
The dinning is cleared already
” Now listen all of you, if anyone makes this kind of mistake again, it might land you in jail cos to me, it’s an attempt to kill my son….yes I love carrots…but I already told you my son is allergic to it so know how to handle the meals to avoid mix up, do I make myself clear?” Philip said sternly
” Absolutely sir” they replied
“So boy, what should we eat in place of that?” He asked
“Chicken fried steak, but not here, let’s eat out” he said
Philip carried him
” You know you should really stop carrying me in your arms, I’m not a kid anymore” he said with a pout
” Of course you’re not a kid, but you’re a child’ Philip said
“Dad!” Robin said with a frown
“Ok sorry Mr Robin, can we go now?” He said
“Sure Mr Philip Albert” Robin replied and k-ssed his cheek as they entered his limo
“My private restaurant” he told the driver
The driver started the drive…

Next day, Unique school of nutritionists***
Melanie ran into the class breathlessly, she cried throughout last night so she never slept till the early hours of this morning, making her wake up late
Chef Sally, one of their teachers is already in class, teaching
Should we call it a class or kitchen?
It’s a kitchen, nutritionists are people who learn or know about healthy nutrition and best recipes to cook a healthy nutritious food
So they deal with how to cook different varieties in the kitchen
That’s what the school is all about
Melanie continued breathing hærd as the wh0le students turned their attention to her
“You’re unusually late Melanie” Chef Sally said
“I’m sorry ma’am, I..I.. I’m sorry” she said, not wanting to say she woke late
” It’s ok, it’s uncommon of you so just go change and come have your sit” Chef Sally said
She went to the locker room and changed to her apron and cap
She came back and scanned for where there are fewer guys and found one, she sat on an empty seat beside a girl
The girl stood immediately and left for another seat
That’s what they do most here, avoiding her like a plaque
“Even better” she thought and concentrated on what Chef Sally is teaching…
It’s actually an healthy recipe on how to make fruit salad in a different way
“Can I really listen to this?” She asked herself
So far carrots will be among the fruits that’ll be used, it’ll be dangerous for her to stay but she stayed and listened
Chef Sally Started slicing and dicing the fruits one after the other
“Oh!, Get me carrots from the freezer Melanie” Chef Sally said
Melanie’s heart skipped beats
” No, no don’t do it” her heart scre-med
*If I tell Chef Sally that I’m not gonna bring it, it’ll sound like I’m rude, I’ll do it” she thought
” Melanie are you here?” Chef Sally said
“Oh I’m sorry!, I’ll go get it” she replied and stood
She walked slowly to the freezer and held the handle..
She closed her eyes and opened the freezer
She opened her eyes and her eyes caught what she came for
Carrots
She boldly took a bowl of carrots and shut the freezer door before starting to walk back to the class
She had barely taken three steps when it felt as if something hit her head, the flashback of that night came back…
FLASHBACK, Six years ago**
“It’s past nine already, where are you going?” Susan asked sixteen years old Melanie who’s wearing her slippers
“I haven’t eaten carrots all today, isn’t it weird?, you know how much I love it, if I don’t take it before going to bed, I’ll dream about it till daybreak” Melanie replied
” You can wait till tomorrow right?” Her dad (Zayn) said
” No dad, I’ll be right back, I need carrots, just down the street” Melanie replied and left the house
She successfully bought a lot of carrots and is walking back home, skipping down the road when she suddenly started hearing movements behind her
She looked back and found no one
She took a bite of a carrot
“What was that?” She said, eating the carrot in her mouth loudly
She waved it off and continued walking but she was suddenly grabbed from behind and her face was covered, the carrots fell from her hand
She was dragged away to a deep corner where her vrgnity was taken by cruel rappe …
“No please!, I’m too young for this!!, No!!, Don’t do this to me I beg you!!!” She kept scre-ming
END OF FLASHBACK***
“No!!!!!!!!!, Don’t do this to me please!!!!, No!!!, Don’t do it!!!, I beg you please!!!” Melanie scre-med, throwing the carrots with her away
Taking the other students and Chef Sally by surprise
She grabbed the turning stick and started hitting it on the freezer, imagining it as the rappist
“Melanie!” Chef Sally scre-med but she won’t stop
She kept hitting the freezer with the stick
The other students converged in a corner
“Melanie stop!!!” Chef Sally scre-med again
“No!, He ruined my life!!, He ruined it!!, He made me become a devastated pitiful lady!!!, I’m gonna kill him!!” She kept shouting, hitting the freezer more
Her brows is filled with sweat now
Some security men rushed in and tried to go control her
“No!, She’ll get more violent if guys steps in, we need girls or women here” Chef Sally said
The securities stepped backwards
Chef Sally boldly stepped forward and held her hand
Dmn!, She’s strong!
“Leave me alone and let me kill him!” Melanie shouted with tears in her eyes…
“Who are you gonna kill!!!, That’s a freezer for crying out loud!!!” Chef Sally yelled, bringing her back to her senses
Melanie looked at the freezer, she’s seeing freezer now though it’s a total mess as a result of how she hit it repeatedly with the stick
She looked at the stick in her hand her wh0le body shaked at what she has done
“Calm down Melanie,… come with me” Chef Sally said
” The rest of you should wait for me, and call the cleaners to take this freezer out” she said before guiding Melanie out
She took her to the school clinic
“I’m not sick” Melanie said when they got to the front of the clinic
” Melanie…
“I’m not sick!, I’m just miserable!, I’m just ruined!!, I’m just devastated and…and… and…
She broke down in tears again
Chef Sally hugged her
“Let it all out, cry all you want, you’ll feel better” she said
” Oh my life!” Melanie said, letting out more tears on her shoulder…

Melanie got back home later in the evening, she has calmed down now, Chef Sally really helped a lot
Saying soothing words to her really helped, she had branched at the hospital to see her dad
No one is home when she got home
She dropped her bag on the bed
“Melanie is that you!” Valerie’s voice sounded from the thin balcony
“Oh!, You’re home?” Melanie said, going out to meet her
Valerie hugged her and when she saw her face, no one needs to tell her she cried cos any day she cries, her eyeballs will be red throughout
But no matter how bad her situation, no matter how red her eyes is, she’s still pretty…
“You cried” Valerie said
“You always find out don’t you?” Melanie replied with a sad smile
“What happened?, Did someone gossip about you again?” Valerie asked
Melanie smiled shortly
” If it had been gossip, I’d have taught the person some lessons…but it’s not” she replied
” Then……….. carrots?” Valerie said
Melanie nodded
” Oh dear, what do we do?” Valerie said, hugging her
“It’s ok, it’s my wretched life, I’ll manage, you don’t have to worry about me” Melanie replied on her shoulder
” Mum is a cleaner at a company, dad is in a vegetative state since six years ago, you’re living with a stigma, hærd to forget…
And I…am an high School dropout, our family is not close to doing well” Valerie said sadly
Melanie broke the hug
” That brings the question, don’t you want to go back to highschool?, You’re supposed to be in your final year” She said
Valerie’s face lightened up
” Yes!, Yes I want to!” She said and suddenly stopped smiling
” But no money, isn’t that why I dropped out?” She said sadly
Melanie held her hands
” It’s ok, just tell me any school you have in mind” Melanie said
“Oh!, Lighthouse highschool, the prestigious school is offering scholarsh¡ps now…if you take the scholarsh¡p exams and get in the school, the school will be the one to pay your school fees but the student will be the one to buy the uniform, textbooks and the other equipments, we’re still struggling to get money for dad’s machine stabilization, let’s just forget it” Valerie said
” Take the scholarsh¡p form and go for the exams” Melanie said
” Melanie…
“I said it right?, If you get in, so far your school fees will be payed by the school, I’m ready to buy you all what you need” Melanie said
” But sis…
“Shhhh .. just trust me and take the scholarsh¡p form tommorow, read hærd for the exam and sit for it, you’ll surely get in, I have a brilliant sis” Melanie replied with a smile
” Thanks Sis, for always being there for me, you didn’t even allow me to work part time” Valerie said
” You don’t dare work part time, just focus on your education, that’s all I want from you ok?” Melanie said
” Sure sis, I love you” Valerie said and hugged her
Susan has been watching them unnoticed….
She wiped the tears that fell from her eyes
“She’s going through a lot and yet she’s strong and… doing everything to keep this family stable…. how do I support you my daughter…I’m just a poor cleaner” she thought silently…
” Mum you’re back from work” Valerie said immediately she saw her
” Yes daughters, let’s eat, I bought us dinner” she replied, sitting down in front of the small table, serving as dinning table
“Welcome mum” Melanie said , managing to be radiant
“Love you daughter” Susan replied, pouring the food in one plate
On the norms, if only Susan is to eat it, she won’t even be satisfied
“Let’s eat out, this won’t be enough” Melanie said..
Valerie and Susan looked at her
“It ok, bills on me, let’s go eat out at a restaurant” she said again with a big smile this time around…
