Dwayne stopped for a moment and started staring at her , as if he’s searching her face for an answer
“Dwayne… You love me right?” She asked again with a lot of hope in her voice
Dwayne smiled and planted a short kss on her l-ips before hugging her
“Time Will tell Val” he said
She hugged him back, thinking about the possible meaning for what he just said

“I’m missing you already” Melanie said as she esc-rted Philip out of the house the next morning with Robin in her arms
“You won’t be able to tell how badly I’m missing you both already” Philip replied
He kssed silent Robin on the nose
” You’ve been silent these days, is it because of my trip?” Philip asked
” No dad, I just… Miss you already” he replied slowly
” Even at that, your silence is giving me the creeps” he replied
” Not to worry dad, I’m good, just come back early and safely” he replied and managed to smile…
” Alright boy” he replied and peck him again before kssing Melanie on the l-ips
” I love you” he said
“Love you more, we’ll miss you” she said, hugging him
“I’ll miss you guys more” he replied…
He got in his car after much hugging and kssing, the car drove off smoothly
“Robin, mummy is not in support of your moody face, please” Melanie said
” I know but I…. I’m just not happy these days” he said
“Why?, The book again?”
“No mum, trust me it’s not it but…. I just naturally don’t feel happy” he replied
” Oh dear, I don’t like that” she replied
He held her cheeks with his small cute hands and stared at her face
“I love you momma” he said
“How cute, love you more dear, what should I cook for you?”
” I want just spaghetti” he replied
” It’ll be done in a jiffy, let’s go make it together, you’ll watch me in the kitchen right? ” She said
He nodded and rested his head on her shoulder as she took him in…

“He told me time will tell” Valerie said, throwing crunchy tacos in her mouth
She’s at Lillian’s house
“Time Will tell?, And what’s that supposed to mean?” Lillian said
” Honestly I’m confused too” she replied
“Time Will tell…. Maybe it means you’ll know if he loves you when the time comes… But he should at least stop confusing you, he’s too c-mbersome to understand* Lillian said
” I know right?” Valerie replied
“By the way… I met a guy” Lillian said
” My gosh!, Who’s he?, Show me his picture, is he handsome like Dwayne?, Is he tall like him?, How far have you guys gone? ” Valerie asked all at once
” Are you trying to murder me with questions?, For crying out loud I can’t even digest all what you just said” Lillian said
” Ok, one at once” Valerie replied with the remaining calmness in her
” His name is Marco, we met at the grocery store yesterday when I was shopping for groceries, he complimented my beauty and even shopped with me, we ended up exchanging contacts before going our separate ways, but surprisingly he called last night and we talked at length as if we’ve known each other for over a century, then at the end of everything, he asked me to go out with him tommorow, I said no problem” Lillian explained
” Whoa! ”
” And for the handsome part, trust me he’s just handsome, he’s same height as Dwayne and he’s also a final year highschool student like us, so I’m good” she replied
” You’re so lucky!, Finally my stern friend is falling in love” Valerie said
“Silly you” Lillian smiled…

” I’m not expecting anyone” Sally thought as the doorbell rang, she came back from work not long ago and went upstairs to change, she’s coming down when it sounded
She went to the door and opened it slowly, Leo came to view with a big smile on his face
“I thought I told you not to come to my house uninvited” she said
” I can’t help it, I just want to see your face” he replied
” How stubborn” she said and shut the door
” Ok Sally I’m sorry, I won’t do this again but just this once, ok? ” He said from outside
She stood behind the door, smiling and licking her lower lip in happiness
She’s happy to see him too but she planned to play hærd a little
She finally opened the door and he entered gladly
“Nice living room” he said, looking around
“I know* she replied, hiding her smiling face…
He sat on one of the couches and rested on his back
“I’m so tired” he breathed hærd
“So apart from playing keyboard for MV, what else do you do?” She asked, sitting beside him but she made sure there’s enough space between…
“I work with J-BLISS music industry to promote upcoming keyboardists and I’m an upcoming producer too” he replied
” Oh, I see…so when is MV releasing another album?”
” Probably next month, it’ll be a music video and he’ll be featuring Justin Bieber” he replied
” Whoa!, He wants to collaborate this time”
” Sure, slight change in style” he replied
” I can’t wait!” She exclaimed
He drew closer to her on the couch but she drew back immediately
He came closer again and before she knew it, he lay on the couch and place his head on her laps
“Leo!” She said
“Yes?” He replied, closing his eyes
She looked at his closed eyes and quickly took her eyes off him, he’s handsome
“Your head on my laps is not allowed” she said
“I know, but I love trespassing, though I know it’ll still belong to me one day” he replied
” What are you referring to?”
” You don’t have to worry, just give me ten minutes to sleep like this… please” he inhaled
She calmed down and smiled

Valerie rushed from the living room to her room when her phone rang that night, it’s Dwayne
She picked as quickly as possible
“Hey!” She said, breathing heavily
“Did you run miles?” He giggled
“No I….I’m tired” she lied
“Wait…what made you so tired to the point of breathing heavily like you’re doing right now?” He asked
” Nothing”
” How weird…by the way I miss you” he said , making her palpitate again
She smiled, holding unto her chest
“You’re not saying anything” he said
“I…miss you…more” she replied
She can hear him smiling
” I Love….
“Huh?” She said impatiently
“I wanted to say I love noodles” he lied
“I know, even a blind man will know you love noodles…lest I forget…and bread!” She said
They both laughed loud
They talked at length for half of the night before hanging up
“He misses me….but, does he love me?” She thought

“Dad!’ Robin almost scre-med when his face came to view on the laptop
It’s actually a video call early this morning though they did it last night too but Robin is just missing him badly
“My boy” Philip replied, smiling handsomely
“Dad I miss you”
“Miss you more boy, .. sweetheart” he waved
Melanie blew ksses
” That’s my morning kss” she said
Phil licked his l-ips
” I felt it, but I wish I can get it raw” he replied
“I wish too” Melanie replied
Robin covered his ears
” I’m still too young” he replied
“No, you’re an adult” Melanie said and they all ended up laughing
“Time for conference, Melanie I told you ..I’m gaining a lot from it, and I know by the time I’ll be back, AR group of companies will change for better” he said
” I can’t wait…much love baby” Melanie said
” I love love you sweetheart, love love you Robin” he replied
The call disconnected and Robin hugged Melanie
“I have only you to hug, so get used to countless hugs and ksses” he said
Melanie smiled and kssed his hair

A week later**
The conference is going on smoothly and a lot is still to be gained despite the fact that a lot has been gained already
Philip just finished dressing up to go for today’s conference when a call came on his phone from the head of police
He picked anxiously
“Today is miss Kat Merritt’s release, we need you to come sign some papers”
” Oh, that’s right…but I’m not available right now, release her, I can come sign the papers immediately I’m around” he replied
” Ok sir”
He hung up and left the room
He walked gallantly to the conference room where a lot of CEO are waiting for today’s lecturer already…
He took his seat after saying hi to some
Then he saw the CEO sitting beside him reading a book, a look at it, no one needs to tell him it’s Mystery Of The Dark Room, the book Melanie has refused to allow him to read
His curiousity started again and for once in his life, he decided to feed it
“Mr Frank, is it volume one or two?” He asked
“One, I have the two here” he replied, pointing at it on the table
” I’d love to read it” he said
“Sure” Mr Frank replied, giving it to him
He inhaled hærd and opened the first page
“Mystery Of The Dark Room volume 2”
“Written by Snowdrop”
He opened to the first page and closed his eyes
He opened it again and started feeding his curiousity
Prince Hades entered the emotionless cave to look for his second love that’ll stay with him forever and make him regain inspiration for singing
He met series of h©rrific ghosts, spirits, v@mpires and zombies and suffered a lot in his search
But his search was fruitful when he found a pretty woman at the far end of the cave, crying cos she was rapped by a bea$t…she has different bruises all-over her
Without minding, Prince Hades took her out of the cave and married her, he got back his inspiration and started singing again
He did a lot just to make her forget the trauma of how she was raped by a beast and when she later got over it, they lived happily and remained the best couple in Birdflower town
It’ll have been everlasting if it lasted but it didn’t..cos the first love came back to claim prince Hades
And when she saw it’s difficult to have him back, she resorted to getting even with both of them
She killed both of them gruesomely..
She decapitated The second love and made her head roll on the ground, then she set fire on prince Hades himself and made him burn till death
Having accomplished her mission, she planned to escape but was caught and hanged
But she has already spoilt a lot..
Till now, Birdflower town is still in sadness.
Philip can’t believe his eyes
This is his freaking life story!
No wonder she was telling him not to read it, no wonder she was telling him it’s not worth reading, so this is it
He stood from his seat and the book fell from his hands
He ran out of the room despite the hollering from the others
He ran out of the suite and drove himself for the first time
He drove as fast as he can…
“Melanie…” He kept muttering..

“Mummy Carolyn” Melanie said Immediately she came in
” Daughter” Carolyn replied, hugging her for long before letting her go
“Where’s my grandson?”
“He’s upstairs, sleeping” she replied
” But it’s just 5pm, he won’t be able to sleep at night”
“He will, if I’m beside him, he’ll sleep” she replied as they both sat
“You’re just too blessed…..but Melanie”
” Yes mum?”
” You read the book right?, I’m sure you know the book I’m talking about” she said
Melanie nodded slowly
” I knew it, but you’re not scared right?”
“I get scared sometimes, but not all the time” she replied slowly
” Mel, it’s just a book, if you think that way, things will be better, right?”
” I really want to think that way but I’m still scared sometimes though” she replied
Carolyn held her hands
” I’m sure you read the book before you both got married, and you still got married to him”
” Yeah, I love him so much and that love is helping in wiping some of the fears” she replied
” Melanie just be strong ok?, Even if Stella comes back like the first love came back in the book, she won’t be able to do anything to hurt you, just believe that” Carolyn said
Melanie is about to reply when the door pushed open widely….
Philip rushed in
Melanie’s eyes covered her face
They still talked this morning and he never said he was coming
Plus this look on his face, a look that’s difficult to get..
She stood and Carolyn stood too
Philip came straight to her and kssed her
Carolyn smiled as she watched
Melanie can’t even close her eyes cos she can’t understand the sudden moves
“Did he come home just to kss me?” She asked herself as he broke the kss and hugged her immediately
“I love you very much Melanie… thanks for staying even after reading the book, thanks for loving me, and I’m promising that even if Stella comes back … I’ll protect you, I love you a lot Melanie” he said , tightening his grip on her
” The…the book” Carolyn said shockingly.
“You..you read it?” Melanie stammered shockingly too
Then the door opened, revealing….
