CHAPTER 38
The door opened, revealing Leo but he stopped when he saw the scene…
Philip broke the hug and k-ssed her face round
“I love you” he said
“I love you more” she replied as tears fell from her eyes
“Honestly I’m scared, I get scared a lot sometimes, thinking what happened in the book will be our ending but I just console myself everyday with the thought that it’s just a book” she said. He wiped her tears and hugged her again
Without hearing from anyone, Leo got what’s happening immediately, he came in fully and stood beside Carolyn
“Just believe nothing will happen, that is enough, ok?, That book is not us, that book is not our fate, that book is trash, we have an happy ending in front of us ok?” He said, she nodded and stopped crying
Carolyn smiled again and Immediately they broke the hug, she hugged Philip
“Thanks for being strong even after reading it, let’s be strong together, Stella will be no match for us if we stay strong” she said
” I know, let’s stay strong” he replied and left Carolyn to hug Leo, Carolyn hugged Melanie
“It’s ok buddy, be strong like HNP said, everything will be ok” Leo said, patting his back.
” Thanks buddy”
” Melanie thanks for staying, no Stella will touch you” Carolyn said
” Ok mum, I’ll be strong like I’ve never been before, trust me” Melanie replied
Robin watched from the stairs and smiled
“Yes, let’s be strong like we’ve never been before, I love that spirit mum” he thought in his mind
He suddenly held his chest again and before his nose will start bleeding, he ran upstairs…

Next day**
“What should I do with you?, You forced me out for lunch again” Sally said during lunch with Leo at a restaurant
“Cos I love being with you” he replied
“Stop saying that” she said though she loves hearing it
” Ok, I love staying with you” he replied
She’s about to tell him to stop saying it again when he winked
She faced her plate of food and refused to look up
“It worked!” He said, holding her hand on the table
“Sally I’m sure you know why I’m doing all this” he said
“Boss suddenly returned from his business trip even when it’s not it’s not time to come back yet” Sally sighed, changing the topic
” I’m aware, something actually happened” Leo replied.
“Really?, What happened?”
” You won’t understand, but you’ll get to understand when the time comes” he replied
” When the time comes?”
He nodded

“Ok meet my friend, Marco, Marco meet my friend Valerie” Lillian said, doing the introduction and they both shake hands
They’re in a cinema house to see a movie
“Nice to meet you” Valerie said
“Same here” Marco replied as he let go of her hand
” By the way Lillian, you’re right, he’s really handsome” Valerie said
” That made me blush” Marco replied
” I know right?” Lillian replied and they laughed
” Which movie should we see?” Valerie asked, wishing Dwayne is here…
“After We Collided” Lillian replied
“Why is everyone talking about it these days as if it just came out?, I’ve watched it twice, I’m waiting for After We Fell, the part three” Valerie replied
” But I haven’t watched it” Marco said
” And I haven’t watched it either” Marco replied
“So we’re watching it, and be ready for a surprise soon” Lillian said, tuning in to the movie…
Tessa and her je.rky boyfriend’s lovestory continues and it’s overly r©mantic…
It made her start thinking of Dwayne when a kssing scene comes up
Then she suddenly felt someone sitting beside her, she looked beside her and saw him
Dwayne!, It’s like a dream and she had to blink severally
Her eyes grew big in surprise
“Grumpy Bear” she said
“Retarded” he replied, smiling and grabbing her hand
*You’re here” she said surprisingly
” Yeah, you don’t like it?” He said
” No, I don’t mean that,..I mean..I ..
“Shhhh” he hushed
She shut her l-ips and he placed his head on her shoulder
“Let’s just watch the movie” he said…
“So this is the surprise Lillian was talking about, silly her” she thought, looking at Lillian and Marco at the other side of the cinema
She tried to concentrate on the movie again but that’s impossible with him beside her
Her wh0le body started shaking with expectations
She shifted her gaze from the movie to him when another kss scene popped up
At the same time, he lifted his head from her shoulder and their eyes met
He slowly took his hands and placed it on her wa-ist, he held her wa-ist and continued looking at her in surprise
She stood and moved to sit on his laps, facing him
She dipped her hand into his hair and brushed it gently before rocking on his laps a bit
He’s on the moon with just that
She kept that passionate look on her face and he has an affectionate look on his face too as she leaned in
“I love you Dwayne” she whispered, brushing her hair back with her hand before covering the space left
“Your love is driving me insane, I don’t even know what I’m doing anymore, morning, afternoon, evening, night, I only think of you, you just won’t leave my head Dwayne, I just.. love you immensely, can you love me back ?” She said.
He took her hand off his l-ips and kssed her forehead
He’s dying to say those three words to her but…
Right now he wants more of what she just did

“With the words everyone said yesterday, I’m not scared anymore honestly” Melanie said at bedtime
She’s hugging Philip on the bed
“I know, you’re strong , I know I have a strong wife” he replied
She smiled and hugged him more
” But why is Robin behaving weird these days?”..
“I’ve been asking him but he said he’s ok , I’m worried too” Melanie replied
” He never hides things from me and I’m sure he’ll never hide things from you too, so let’s believe he’s fine, maybe he’s growing up” he replied
” Ok love” she replied
” Look up” he said
Immediately she looked up, he locked their l-ips

Dwayne can’t stop reminiscing about what happened last night
Valerie confessed to him in the most rom-ntic and affectionate way ever
He still can’t believe they rom-nced in a cinema but it still remained memorable and the best
He kept smiling big while bathing
Even after taking his bath, he continued smiling till when he started eating
He loves her more than he can imagine for sure, and she’s the one she loves most in the wh0le world but… maybe he’ll think of a way to confess too
He’s about to call her after breakfast but his phone rang, It’s his darn dad and he never wanted to pick but he did
“Son” Fido’s voice boomed
“I’m not your son, what are you calling me for this early morning?”
” I need you to come to my house now for something important” he replied
” Something important?, And ask me to start begging Darien again?, No” he replied and hung up
” Bloody old man” he replied and left the house to take a stroll but he has barely walked five steps when two of his father’s car stopped on his sides
Four guards came out of each, making eight
He was forcefully taken away in the cars
They took him to his dad’s mansion where his dad is seated in the living room with Linda and Darien who’s smiling
“So you hung up on me , really?” Fido said
“And you had to resort to kidnapping,…I’m here now, what do you have to say” he replied
” I’m a good father, it’s now you’ll know” he replied, smiling
“Your dad found you a bride” Linda replied
Dwayne smiled shortly
” Wait..are you both trying to stage a comedy show right now?” He said
” Stop pretending like you don’t know what it means, you’re getting engaged bro” Darien said
” What!”
” Yes, the girl is from a respected rich family, pretty too” Linda replied
” The last time I checked, I’m still not ready for engagement with any freaking girl and besides that, I have someone I love madly already!” He yelled
” That doesn’t count here!, I’m your father and I have the final say!” Fido stood
” Come in” Linda said and the door opened, Whitney came in, dolled up like a model
She catwalked to them
Dwayne smiled shortly
“Her?, And now everything is ruined, how do you expect me to get engaged with a girl I hate so much…do you want to know the height of my hatred for her? If she falls into a pit together with a dog, I’d rather save the dog instead of saving her cos this girl here is worse than a bch!”
” What are you talking about?” Linda said
” Do you know how many times I caught her making out with Darien?”
“You must have seen wrong, I’m still a vrgin” Whitney said
Dwayne laughed mockingly
” You’re nothing but a freaking wench so stop talking!, And even if that’s not the case, I’m not interested in this trash cos like I said….I have someone I love with all I have!” He yelled again
” Valerie?” Darien say, standing up
“If you must know yes!, She’s the girl I love and I won’t ever trade her for anyone cos she’s my life!, So stop trying to take away my only joy from me, you guys have done enough!” He yelled and started heading out
” I know you won’t agree so easily so I’m prepared” Fido muttered
Immediately Dwayne opened the door, sedating perfume was sprayed on his face and he fell down immediately, sleeping off
Fido had actually told the guards to do that
“Take him upstairs to one of the rooms, he’ll be released any day he agrees to get engaged with Whitney.” Fido said
The guards obeyed and one of them carried him on his shoulder
“And no food and water, that’ll make him give in quickly” Darien added…
Whitney winked at him and immediately Fido left for his room, Linda stuck hands with Darien…

CHAPTER 39
Walking back home from Lillian’s house, the only thing in Valerie’s mind Is Dwayne.
It’s so uncommon of him not to call her for two consecutive days, he can’t do without calling her for a wh0le day, not to talk of ‘two?’
She tried calling him again but his line is still off, she sighed worriedly again
She has even gone to his house today and it’s just locked, he’s not at home
“Then did he travel?, No he can’t possibly travel without telling me” she thought again
School is resuming on Monday and now this?
She got down from the cab and payed the cab man when they finally got to her house, she went in sadly
“Who died?” Susan said Immediately she saw her face
” No one, I’m just… Sad and worried, Dwayne’s line has been off and I don’t just know to do, he’s not at home too” she replied wryly, falling on the couch
” You don’t have to worry too much, he might be busy” Susan said
” No, at least his phone should be on, I don’t know why I’m having this feeling that everything is not right” she replied, cupping her face with her palm
Susan scooted close to her and held her hand
“Don’t worry too much, please” she said
Valerie looked at her and smiled a bit
” I’ll try” she replied

The sounds of the shoes of the guards outside the door is the only sound Dwayne has been hearing since he was locked up yesterday
He woke up last night only to find himself in the room and to him, Fido will regret this big time
And right now the only one he wishes to see is Valerie, she’s his only medicine and the only one that can make him feel better
His phone is not with him anymore, it must have been taken from him when he was sedated yesterday
He feels broken, betrayed, sad and out of the world, it feels as if life has been drained out of him as he sat helplessly in the room
“I can’t stay here, I can’t” he thought and though he has always thought tears are for the weak, he has always thought tears makes the strong weak, he won’t mind to cry right now so he let out his tears , it rolled down his cheeks and he can’t seem to be able to control it
“Val” he muttered slowly amidst the tears

At the airport**
A woman can be seen walking towards a car with a man beside him, they both look dangerous and they’re wearing all black, including black sunglasses
They got into the car and the woman sighed, removing her glasses
“Rico I can’t believe I’m back to Paris after a long time” the woman said with a knowing grin on her mischievous l-ips
“I know right?, It has been seven long years, but it’s good to be back for something, our mission must not fail” Rico replied
” Sure it mustn’t, you know I’m still the master planner… If plan A fails, then we go for B”
” And that’s?’ Rico asked
“Take what belongs to me from him and them eliminate him and his wench” the woman replied
“My S-lady, I trust you” Rico replied and peck her
She slapped his back
“This is not the time for rom-nce you son of a gun” she said
” Chill, it was just a peck” Rico stated and pressed the ignition…

“You again?” Sally said when Leo appeared at his doorstep
It’s seven pm and it’s already dark
“Sure, I plan to sleepover” Leo joked
“What!”
“Hey don’t chicken out, it was a joke” he replied
She smiled and slightly hit him
” Unserious one” she said, letting him in
“Would you like to eat?” She asked
“Sure I’d love to taste my future darling’s food” he replied with a wide smile
” Silly” she replied and went to the kitchen
She just finished cooking dinner when he showed up anyways
She dished their food and set the table, then he came over to the dinning room and settled down with her to eat.
“What’s your favorite food?” He asked as they ate
“I don’t talk while eating” she replied, stylishly rolling eyes at him
“I understand, but this is just a random conversation so just answer please? ” He said
She dropped her fork and faced him straight
” True love” she said
“That’s weird” he said
“Yeah I know, it’s even more weird that I’ve never for once tasted my best food, I love true love but I’ve never found one, I’ve had series of boyfriends, the last I checked, they were seven, but they all left after getting what they want, you know I’ve been through a lot lately and I can’t just stop craving for this thing called true love but it’s pathetic that it just won’t come my way no matter how much I crave” she replied, smiling sadly
Leo felt sad Immediately for asking a question that’s capable of swinging her mood
“I’m so sorry” he said
“It’s ok, I’m ok” she replied, smiling
“But… You won’t mind to give it a chance if you find a guy who cares a lot and is ready to feed you your best food right? ” He asked, looking at her straight in the eyes
“of course” she replied, managing to smile

Robin is sleeping with his head on his desk and Michelle can’t help but be worried
“Robin, these days you’re becoming scary” she said
“Scary?, How?” He asked, still not raising his head from the table
” I mean, the Robin I know is a chatterbox but since last week you’ve changed to a completely gently boy, it’s strange and weird” she replied
” Don’t mind me” he replied
” You’re not sick right?, What about the chest pain?, Have you gone for check up? ” She asked
” Check up?, Nothing is wrong with me” he replied
” Stop being obstinate, you’re always having chest pain and you even told me you bled from the nose thrice, then you’re saying you’re ok?, That’s crap, at least tell your parents” she replied
” Tell my parents?, And let them get worried more?, They’re already scared about the book and you’re saying I should add to their fears?, No” he replied
” You… You read the book already?” Michelle asked
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you but it’s because I don’t want to scare you” he replied
“Ok , can you tell me now? ” She asked impatiently
He sighed and narrated everything he read in the book for her
“Just like your parents, but it’s just a book right?”
” Yeah, that’s what we’re working with and gladly it’s working, if Stella shows up I’ll kick her hærd, I hate what I don’t like” he said
Michelle smiled and held his hand

“ahhhhhhh!!!!!” Lillian scre-med when Valerie appeared at her doorstep this morning
She’s typical of a deranged girl, her long hair is tangled and her face is all puffy, she has dark circles under her eyes, then her eyeballs are red, her l-ips is dried like something else
“What the hell!” Lillian scre-med again, pulling her in
” What happened to you? ” She asked slowly, arranging her hair with her fingers
“Dwayne” she replied slowly
“Your eyes” Lillian said
“It’s red cos I cried throughout last night” she replied
” Your l-ips”
” It’s like that cos I didn’t eat throughout yesterday”
“Your dark circles? ”
” I never slept”
” And your hair”
” It didn’t feel the presence of comb since yesterday” she replied
” Valerie!, You’ll go crazy at this rate what has this guy done to you!” Lillian shouted
” Love” Valerie replied slowly
” My gosh!, Valerie how can you leave the house like this, your mum didn’t see you right? ‘
“She was still sleeping” Valerie replied
“Fk!, Like for fk sake, Valerie stop doing this to yourself! ” Lillian said
” I’m trying to stop but not seeing him or hearing his voice is driving me insane, I love this guy and you’re aware he’s the first guy I’ll ever love, ion know why I’m like this either but I just know I’m going mad” she replied
” This is bad, what do we do? ” Lillian said , wiping the tears that are threatening to fall from Valerie’s eyes
She took her phone and saw she has sent handfuls of messages to Dwayne already and got no reply, how will she get one when his phone is off?
“Baby” Lillian hugged her
“Just help me find him, I miss him a lot” Valerie said.

Friday**
” Delicious as usual” Philip said during breakfast with his family
“He’s right mum, I can never get tired of your food” Robin smiled, he brightened up a little bit this morning and that’s just cool
Melanie stroked her hair while smiling
“Thanks for smiling for us this morning”
“I love you mum, love you Daddy” he replied
*We love you more” they replied at once
” By the way sweetheart, we’re going for picnic today” Philip said
” Really dad? ” Robin said happily
“Work?” Melanie said
“I took today off to be with you guys, we’re in for some fun today” he replied
” I love you dad!, And I can’t wait! ” Robin smiled, eating more
” Love you more son, your knuckles” Philip replied as they hit knuckles.
The doorbell sounded that moment
“Are you expecting someone?” Melanie asked Philip
“Absolutely no, but that must be mum or Leo” Philip replied and stood to get it
” I feel uneasy, I feel uneasy” Robin muttered, dropping his fork
Philip opened the door and his hands entered slow mo as the person’s face came to view
His eyes w¡dened as he opened the more widely but slowly..
The only disgusting face he knows, the woman who almost made him lose himself, the woman whom he hates utterly right now….
STELLA
