Alexa’s pov 🎀

Few hours later…!

After much struggle, I finally untie myself.

I rub my ankles and hiss quietly from pain, red marks from the chain visible.

“I don’t know guys, but I’m gonna quickly look around.. there might be a way out of here!” I said.

I get up and quickly untie everyone, one after the other.

“Thank you, Luna!” They all chant.

I hushed them and gesture towards the door, silently reminding them that guards are standing outside.

They nod and keeps quiet. I look around, trying to find a window but didn’t see any.

“Luna, we’re in an underground house and there’s only one way out!” A lady told me.

I sighed… well my little hope is gone! The little boy rushes forward and wraps his arms around my legs.

He looks up at me with his big, round sad eyes.

“Luna, save us, they’re gonna kill us!” He said in a scared tone.

I carry him in my arms and raffles his hair.. I flash him a smile.

“Don’t worry, I’ll surely save you guys… I’ll get you out of here safely!”

I narrow my eyes and glare at the door.. praying for God to give an idea.

Thankfully, an idea pops into my mind and I smirks. I signal everyone to come together and they did.

“You’ve being here for quite some time now, I believe you all can guess how many guards are guiding this place?”

They nod.

“How many?” I asked.

“Twenty seven!” Someone said.

I gasp and my eyes grew bigger than my head.

“Twenty seven?!” They nod. “That’s a lot!”

I was thinking maybe five or six and I can fight them off or distract them… But twenty seven!

Just then, I hear footsteps coming towards the room.. I quickly signal everyone to return to their normal place.

And pretend like their hands are still tied up… The door snaps open and a lady in black dress walks in.

She’s carrying a tray of bread and bottle water. She drops the tray on a small table and look around.

Her eyes settles on me and she bows slightly.

“Your highness!” She said.

I frown and look at her in confusion.

“Do you know me?” I asked.

She turns back to the door and shuts it before turn back to me again.

“I’m Diane!” She said.

“Diane?”

She nods. Hmm, why does her name sound so familiar to me?

“I’m glad they captured you too…”

Humph…

“I have been thinking of how to get them out of here but it’s too hærd for me… I couldn’t do it alone!”

A lady scoffs and throws a glare at Diane.

“As if we need your help, you traitor!”

“Traitor?” I asked.

“Yes! She betrayed our pack and flee!”

Then I recall what happened at the orphanage.. don’t tell me she’s the same Diane!

But she doesn’t look like a bad person.. no, something is not right.

“It’s more complicated than you all think!” She said.

“What’s complicated?! That you stole our pack’s money?!”

Diane shakes her head and tears brims in her eyes. She looks at me while I look directly into her eyes.

I saw regret and fear in them.

“Diane, what happened? Why did you betray our pack? Why did you do this to our pack?”

That’s when she breaks down, tears flow furiously down her cheeks as she cries bitterly.

I get up and walk closer to her, I pulled her into a hug.

“Luna, are you comforting her?” Someone asked me.

“We don’t know what happened or why she did what she did” I replied.

Diane cries a few more minutes before sobering up.. she wipes her tears.

“Thank you, Luna!” She said.

“Tell me what happened”

She nods.

“I wasn’t bad and I didn’t intend to be bad someday.. it’s just, Antonio kidnapped my daughter and is using her to blackmail me… If I don’t do what he wants me to, he’ll hurt my daughter… ”

She turns to the others.

“… It wasn’t my intention to hurt anyone, I just wanted my daughter back.. safe and sound.. but I discovered something recently… ”

She trails off and sobs softly.

“What do you discover?” I asked.

“My daughter is long dead!” She cries.

“What?”

“He killed my daughter ready.. he was deceiving me!”

Oh my goodness! How come this black sheep can be Xander’s uncle?

He’s so heartless, why did he have to kill an innocent child for his own selfish gain?

“Diane, I’m so sorry.. I didn’t know.. I…”

She shakes her head and smile at the lady talking to her.

“It’s my fault for believing him, for thinking he’d spare my daughter…”

She pause and wipes her face.

“… he’s gonna kill you guys too, that’s why I’m here to help you escape but….”

Diane trails off and turns to me.

“… I want your help, Luna!”

I nod quickly.

“Tell me how you want my help!”

“I’ll bring in a guard’s uniform for you and you’ll wear it… You’ll pretend you’re a guard and lead everyone towards the exit.. there’s only one entrance and one exit.. it leads straight outside… You’ll all escape easily that way!”

I was just thinking of how to save these people and here is a perfect plan already!

I nod.

“Then what about you.. are you coming with us?” I asked.

She shakes her head.

“No, if I leave things are gonna get ugly!”

“No, you are coming with us! You can’t stay here any longer.. after all, your daughter is no longer here!”

Thinking about it briefly, she nods… She deeps her hand in her pocket and hands me a candy.

I take it with a frown.

“Richærd did some charms on it, you’ll have a male voice for twenty minutes after eating it!” She said.

“Who’s Richærd?” I asked.

“My mate, the pack’s seer!”

I nod… I guess that fake prophecy was also because Richærd was being blackmailed.

“Ok, go get the uniform for me!” I said.

She nods and walks out. Not up to 15minutes, she’s back with the uniform in her hands… black coverall and black boots.

She helps me wear them and style my hair boyishly… I pop the candy in my mouth and chew.

“Try saying something let’s see if it really worked!” Diane said.

They’re all staring at me, praying it should work I guess.

“Are you sure they’re not gonna know I’m fake?” I asked and I gasp.

Everyone smiles… I can’t believe my voice is actually deeper than Xander’s right now.

“Good! Let’s go!” Diane said and takes me outside.

Thankfully nobody is here, she locks the door and hands the key to me.

“I believe you know what to do!” She said.

I nod…

“I’ll be waiting by the exit, we’ll all leave through there!” With that she rushes off.

Just a minute after she left, two guards came.. they stare at me with a frown.

My heart starts beating fast, hoping they won’t find any flaws.

“What are you doing here alone?” One of them asked me.

I clear my throat and wave the key in front of their eyes!

“Boss, he.. he.. captives…”

“Boss what?!”. The other one roars.

I almost flinch back… Why am I short of words now?

“Can’t you speak?!”

“Oh, boss wants the prisoners transferred to the prison outside!” I said without thinking much about my words.

Way to go Alexa! Prison outside? Really?!

But surprisingly, they nod.

“Yeah, boss did said something like that!” The first guard said.

Wait, what?! My lie was actually true?! I sigh mentally.

“Take them out then, I’m tired of guiding this door after all” he said.

I didn’t waste any time, I quickly open the door and puff my chest out.

“All of you, follow me!” I said in a very deep voice.

Thankfully, they played along… they nod their heads as if they’re truly scared and rushed out.

“Do you want one of us to come with you?” The second guard asked.

“No no no! I can do this alone!” I told them.

I turn to my pack members.

“Move! Move! Move your *ss!” I command them.

They all rush after me. We pass a lot of guards along the way but none stopped us… I guess it’s because I’m dressed like them.

After so many curves and turns, we finally arrived at the exit.

“You made it, Luna!” Diane said.

I nod.

“But it’s not time to rejoice yet…” I turn to the others. “… Immediately you step out, don’t turn back, just run.. run as fast as you can back to the pack and inform the alpha about this!”

They all nod. My little friend grab my wa-ist, seeking my attention.. I look down at him.

“Luna, are you not coming with us?” He asked.

I smile at him.

“I’ll come later, you go first!” I told him.

“Promise?” He asked.

“I promise!” I assured him.

He smiles and turn back to his mother who’s waiting for him. Diane faces me.

“Take care, Luna.. don’t linger for too long!” She said.

I nod.

“Now go!” I told them.

I watch as they all rushes through the tunnel… I wait until they’re all gone out before I hurry into the tunnel too.

It’s so dark in,side, I just pray those pack members make it out in time… Though I can’t see any of them in sight as I run through the tunnel.

I finally made it out, but an elderly man suddenly appears in front of me and stares at me with a smirk.

“What a bold little girl you are!” He said maliciously.

I step back. Please heavens, don’t tell me this is Antonio!

Within seconds his hand is tightly wrap around my neck.. I tried to remove his hand but his grip is so strong.

I cough and gasp weakly as I choke.. he’s blocking my air lungs.

“You think you’re a heroin, huh?!”

I glare at him even though I can feel myself getting weak.

*Scar?*

No reply. Antonio throws me against a pool attached to the tunnel’s gate… I land on my face and cough loudly.

*Scar, do something or we’ll die by his hand!*

Antonio takes slow steps towards me and I crawls back, until my back meets the wall and there’s no escape for me.

*Sorry, Alexa, the wolfsbane is too strong.. there’s nothing I can do, it’s a miracle I can talk to you!*

Antonio stops in front of me, he squats to my level and grabs my chin… He studies my face.

I guess he’s trying to find fear in my eyes… Honestly, I’m scared of what he’s gonna do.

*The only strength I have now left, is what I’m gonna use to protect our pup… Sorry!* Scar said.

He’s hand lands on my cheek and I gro-n.

“You think you can escape without me finding out?”

I glare at him and gather spit in my mouth, without any warning I pours it on his face.

He clenched his jaw and wipes it off. He gets up and kicks me on my stomach.. I cough and gro-n painfully.

My arms wrap around my stomach…my baby! I glare at him fiercely.

“You slut, I didn’t wanna get everyone in the pack involve… But now, I’m not gonna spare anyone… I’ll kill every single person!”

I scoffs but wince when I feel pain on my abdomen.. I cling on it.

“What do you want?” I asked him.

“What do I want?” He paused and gets up. “I don’t want anything.. I just want what’s rightfully mine!” He growls.

I don’t have any strength to fight with him, I can just stall him until help arrives.

“And what’s that?”

“The throne! The crown! They’re all mine!”

I laugh lightly.

“Are you sure they’re yours? Why wasn’t it given to you in the first place if it was really yours?”

He turns to me with a very harsh glare and kicks my stomach again… h-rder than the first time.

“You’re in no place to ask me that!”

“.. then why.. why…”

I trail off and adjust myself against the wall, I’m trying so hærd not to show him how much pain I’m in.

“… Why did you kidnap me if I’m in no place to ask you questions?!”

” Because I wanted to use you as a leverage.. but not anymore! I’ll kill everyone in that pack and claims what’s supposed to be mine in the first place!”

I give him a look that calls h foolish man.

” Who do you wanna lead then if the pack members are all killed by you?”

He leans down and backhanded me, blood sprouts out of my mouth.

“Shut up! Your smart mouth is not needed now!” He growls in my face.

“You’re a beast for thinking you can actually lead the pack and be king… Xander won’t let you….”

He backhanded me again making my teeth cut my lower lip slightly.

“That boy can’t stop me, in fact, I’m waiting for him here.. to kill him!”

I laugh.

“In. Your. Dreams!”

He grabs my right leg and begin to drag me back to the place I just escape from.

“I’m gonna barbeque you until that mother-f$cking a**h0le arrives… then I’ll send both of you to hell together!” He said as he drags me along.

“Let go of me! Let go of me, you bastard!”

He ignores me and continues dragging me along.

I look at the fire with fear in my eyes, Antonio is smirking at me as his men increases the fire.

Is he really gonna barbeque me?! Oh no! I’m too young to die… Can Xander just barge in a save me?!

But I know clearly that Xander doesn’t even know I’m here.. I’m gonna die!

I just wish those pack members make it back to the pack in time and get help here!

“Bring her here!” Antonio orders his boys.

They came to me and carried me… they chained me against a pole, leaving me a few inches above the fire.

“What are you doing?! Are you really gonna barbeque me?!”

He laughs.

“I told you, your smart mouth couldn’t do you any good!”

I struggle to get away from the chains but couldn’t… I can feel the fire slowly heating under my foots.

“If that boy gets here in time, then you’ll both have a quick death… Else, I’ll so gladly watch you burn to death… That will be so much fun!”

“That’s not gonna happen!”

Well I wish it doesn’t happen, cause I’m scared.. help might arrive too late!

“He have 1hour to find you and the time starts now… Or you’ll burn to death!” He laughs evilly.

Writer’s pov 🎀

“Luna!” Fighters call as they walk deeper into the woods in search of Alexa.

“Alexa! Alexa it’s me, Will, just scre-m!” Will shouted.

“Lexa! We’re here to get you, scre-m and we’ll hear you! Lexa!” Micah scre-ms his lungs out.

But there’s no reply, just their voices echoing in the woods.

Will angrily kicks a tree and doesn’t even wince when he feels the pain.

His mind is set on finding Alexa which seems to be very hærd.. they’ve been looking for her for almost three hours now… going round and round the woods.

“Where on earth is Lexa?!” Micah growls.. he’s scared and worried of what his sister is going through right now.

He’s never being this scared or worried all his life.

Just then, their ears perks up when they heard heavy footsteps coming towards them in a massive speed.

“What’s that?” One of the fighters asked.

“How should we know?” Another replies him.

Will gently pushes Micah behind him as he stands in a protective stance.. waiting for whatever is coming.

But then, they realize it’s just a group of women and children.. the women and children stop when they saw their fellow pack members.

“Where are you all coming from?” Micah asked.

They couldn’t speak as they’re all p-nting heavily, trying to catch their breaths.

“L-luna…” A lady trails off as she catches her breath.

“Luna what?!” Will asked anxiously.

“Save Luna!” She said and pass out.

“Do you know where Alexa is?” Will and Micah asked the others.

They nod. Will points at a teenage boy among them.

“You’ll take me to Luna” he turns to Micah. “You and the fighters will take these women and children back to the pack… Inform king and prince about this!”

“Then are you gonna go alone?” Micah asked.

“Yes! We don’t have much time, go now!” He commands and pulls the teenage boy with him.

Alexa’s pov 🎀

I don’t know how long I’ve been hanging over this fire, but I guess it’s long enough that I couldn’t hold back any longer.

I burst into tears with tired sweat dripping off my face.. my legs are seriously burning me.

“Is she crying?” Antonio ask mockingly.

He gets up and walk closer to me, he wipes my tears and turn to his boys.

“Increase the fire!”

My mouth opens and I cry louder… I bite my lower lip and try to hold in my pain.. trying to stop myself from wailing.

God! Where’s Xander?! I need someone to save me now or I won’t last long!

Just as they’re about to increase the fire, I heard Will’s voice yell.

“Alexa!”
