Chapter 16

When he finally brou-ght her down. Tracy turned to hvg him ti-ghtly….

“Thank you so much dear beast…you are the best…I love you…” She said, k!ss!nghim on the forehead.

‘Tracy!”

Tracy looked up only to see her mother smiling and running towards them…

“Mum!” She cried for joy and ran towards Harmony who was finding her way throu-gh the crowd….

“I saw you up dear, you looked so beautiful…you are beautiful. I am so proud of you…”

“Mum did you see Ichabod! He was so good….”

“Yes darling I saw him, I saw you too . I am so proud of you.” Harmony said, showering her daughter with k!sses before standing up to see Ichabod but then he was gone.

“He was just here… where did he go?” Tracy asked her mum, a little bit disappointed that her beast was gone. Harmony couldn’t un-derstand as well.

“Come on darling, maybe he needed to re-move his costume.” She said, taking her daughter by the hand and leading her towards the car but little Tracy kept looking back, surprised that her beast was gone in a flash…

Odin was behind a tree that was very far away from everyone else. Even though it was still within the school premises, it was situated in the shadows, far away from the surrounding lights.

. No one would see him here.

He winced in pain as he realized he was changing back to Ichab…the bones of his b©dy contrasted, s£nding Ichabod an agonizing pain as he regained his composure. He checked his hand and realized his nails were gone and so were his fangs. What happened to Odin? This was so strange. He could have changed right there in front of Harmony and Tracy, thankfully Odin was fast enough to s-en-se that something had happened.

His phone rang all of a sudden and he realized it was Harmony. He sighed. It was still like an hour and some minutes before 12, there was still time.

Sorry Odin. I don’t know what happened! He said before walking back to where he had come from, he could s-en-se Odin gro-an ing and he knew that he was seriously pissed. Something had happened to him and Ichabod had no idea what it was.

He stood by the door, watching as Harmony k!$$£d her sleeping daughter goodnight. Tracy sle-pt off while still in her costume and holding the wand. She was really excited and exhausted. She sle-pt off before they finally got home.

“Okay, shall we?” She said quietly before they both walked out of the room while closing the door softly.

“So, you saved the day Ichabod. What do I owe you?” She asked while they walked down the corridor.

Ichabod smiled with a shrug. “I made a little girl happy. What is there to owe?”

“That little girl is not your responsibility and how you did it? I still find it unbelievable. Where did you get that costume from?” She asked, st©pping to look at him with a mischievous smile. “Did you know that Michael was never going to show up or what?”

Ichabod shrugged, “no, I didn’t know he wasn’t going to show up and….” He chuckled and st©pped when he saw the ‘really?’ look on Harmony’s face. ‘Ok, the guy is like…what that word…a douchebag…is”

Harmony bur-st into laughter. “Are you serious?”

“Yea, you know what I’m talking about.”

She smiled, walked to the bar and poured the both of them a drink. “Yea, I do.” She replied, p@ssing him his cup. They both sat on a stool. “She kept talking about how Ichabod’s beast is the best beast ever.” She said, laughing aloud but Ichabod only chuckled.

“Thought you were supposed to talk with your net-something guy. What happened?”

She chuckled. “Netflix…well, yea, I couldn’t concentrate.

. I couldn’t st©p thinking what would happen if you didn’t find her. So I had to come. But imagine my surprise when I saw you lifted her up and the wh0le people cheered…I was….” She sighed with a smile and took more of her drink. “I have never seen her that happy.” She said quietly, looking at him. Then she raised her cup. “To the best beast ever!” She announced.

Ichabod smiled and raised his, “To …Odin.”

Harmony looked surprised, “Odin? Your costume has a name?”

He nodded. “Yea he does.”

“Well then to Odin.” She replied tou-ching her cup to his before they both gulped down their drink.

Ichabod was enjoying this moment. They were sitting so close together at the bar with their knees almost tou-ching.

“You know, no one has ever done what you did for us tonight Ichabod.” She said after a while, looking straight at him. “Thank you.” She said, smiling and looking into his ocean blue eyes.

Ichabod managed a smile, they were looking at each other and he could see the way she was looking at him…he knew that look. Denis had that hungry look on her face on the night of her wedding…then he felt…wow, was that her hand on his l@ps? His heart was racing so fast and his palm was sweaty….he could see her p@rtedl-ips, he knew what this meant. He drew closer to her, so close that he could feel her breath over his face… he could perceive the delicious smell of the alcoholic wine in the scent of her breath, both their hearts were beating simultaneously as if they were both p@rt of a puzzle piece…she closed her eyes…just as he p@rted his ownl-ips….he could feel his fangs coming out…no no…his nails twitched and he knew what was happening…it was 12 midnight!

Harmony felt a sudden movement and opened her eyes, to her dismay, she was the only one in the room, and Ichabod had disappeared. She flu-shed in embarr@ssment and adjusted on her seat. She had been so stupid. What happened to her?

“Damn it!”

She stood up immediately and rushed to her be-droom, closing the door behind her . She flung on her be-d, b!tt!g herl-ips.

“Girl why did you do that?”

How in the hell was she going to fix this? What exactly happened to her? Just like that, she had made herself look so stupid. What would Ichabod think of her? That she wanted to take advantage of him? But, she sighed and sat right. The moment was so perfect, she had never felt so close to anyone like that, not even Michael. What Ichabod did for her and her child was special to her but still, she shouldn’t have made an attempt to k!sshim. Even though she didn’t actually k!sshim, it was like k!ss!nghim and him pu-lling away.

Oh boy! That was a b!ow!

Her phone on the stool beside her rang and she picked it up, It was Vi.

“Hey girl! What’s up? You wouldn’t believe I just got home. I talked to the Netflix guy and I was able to make a new arrangement for us

. So how’s my baby doing?”

“She’s fine.” Harmony replied in a low voice.

“Wait, did Michael show up? How was it?”

“No, he didn’t show up. Ichabod saved the day. He acted Michael’s p@rt and everything was beautiful.”

“Oh! Wow! Ichabod is really an angel, right? You gonna tell me everything tomorrow.”

“Something happened Vi.”

“Something happened? Oh my God! Did Michael do something stupid again?”

“No no.” Harmony replied nervously.

“Okay, so what happened?”

She sighed. “Oh, God! It was really bad.” She replied.

“Okay, now you scared me. Who was it?”

Harmony took a sharp breath. “It was Ichabod.”

Vivian bur-st into laughter, “oh my god! I knew you hired him for a reason! So you actually took a bite off the white man’s banana right?” She giggled.

Harmony g@sped. “Jesus! No! Damn! You are so nas-ty, Vi!”

Vivian sounded a little disappointed. “Oh! Well, that’s a b!ow. I was looking forward to that. He really is a cute guy. You know there is this thing he does with his eyes anytime he is smiling and…”

“I swear to God if you don’t shut up….” Harmony threatened.

“Oh, sorry, well, spill it then!”

Harmony took in a de-ep breath and shut her eyes as she confessed. “I attempted to k!sshim.”

Vi g@sped, “oh my God…you k!$$£d him! Go, girl!”

“No, I attempted to k!sshim. Can you just listen to me for a second?”

“I’m sorry come on. Wait, attempt, I don’t un-derstand.”

“I don’t either. We were having this time and it was so sweet and I just got caught up and…” she sighed, holding a hand to her forehead. “I just leaned in closer to him and….

. I could have k!$$£d him if not that..”

“Oh my God! Did you catch a foul breath?”

“No damn it! I swear if you say one more thing, I will come right there and strangle you to death.”

“Okay sorry, I’m sorry, just st©p all this suspense and tell me!”

“He disappeared.”

There was a silence as she said that.

“Hello Vivian…”

“Wait, he just vanished?”

“Yea, he ran away.”

“Oh my God..baby he’s a vir-gin.”

“Seriously Vivian….”

“No, I mean it but, oh dear, poor you! You must be going out of your mind right now….”

“Yea, I am, what do I do? I don’t know how to face him again. I am so ashamed Vivian.”

Vivian sighed. “Ichabod is really cool, he’s cute and S-xy as hell. You only attempted to k!sshim and he ran, what if you had pu-ll-ed down his P@nts? I would have done that you know.”

“You are not helping a friend.”

“Okay sorry. Let’s see what happens tomorrow.”

“So what do I do when I see him?”

“Act like nothing happened.”

“But it’s gonna be so awkward.”

“Yea, you made it so, now deal with it unless you fire him.”

“That will be mean.”

“Yea, so, just act like nothing happened.”

“Okay thanks, see you tomorrow.”

“Catch ya.”

Harmony threw the phone on the be-d and sighed. She really shouldn’t have tried to k!sshim.
