🌻 MARIAN 🌻

The sky was beautiful that night that it looked magical and it was also the time for my date with Peter. Before Peter came, I had to struggle to find a suitable dress to wear. I wasn’t rich and my salary cannot buy one of the fancy expensive dresses in the cloth shop but eventually I did manage to find a nice dress. After I was done with the dress, I decided to observe my look as well. I had no accessories to beautify myself but as I looked a the mirror, I realized I was good just the way I am, besides Peter wouldn’t have asked me out if he didn’t like what he saw in me. So I brushed my hair neatly, applied some little powder and l¡pstick, and after all this I was finally ready.

Peter was prompt, I never expected him to come early. He came in his car which was brand new and very comfortable, as for his appearance he looked incredibly handsome in his ironed suit and cute western hat that made him look like an american.
As soon as I got into his car, we were both silent for a while before complimenting each other on our looks and while we were doing that, I noticed Peter staring at me hypnotically as If he was in a trance but in a rom-ntic way.

Marian ➡ Peter! Are you alright?

Peter ➡ I am. You look stunning.
.

Marian ➡ Thanks.
.

Peter ➡ Here I bought you something.
.

Peter reached out to the back of his car and brought out a small package and then unwrapped it. I gasped when I saw a beautiful golden necklace in his hands.

Marian ➡ My goodness.
.

Peter ➡ Beautiful isn’t it? It cost a fortune but no price is too high for you.
.

Marian ➡ Thank you but are you sure about this? We just met and you’re bringing me costly gifts. I’m sorry Peter but I can’t accept this. It’s too much.
.

Peter ➡ I insist you take this. It will break if you don’t.
.

Peter’s look changed after that as he held the necklace in his hands. I really didn’t want the necklace but I also don’t want Peter to be angry, the least I could do was accept the gift and appreciate his generous and rom-ntic gesture.
So I collected the necklace and thanked him for the gift. Peter smiled and then asked me to put it on, he helped me put on the necklace. As soon as the jewelry was strapped around my neck, Peter showed his admiration by showering me with pleasant words.

Peter ➡ My God Marian, You look absolutely beautiful, undeniably attractive and mind blowing. Seems I’m lucky to be going out with an African goddess.

Marian ➡ (blushing) Please stop.. I’m just a servant.
.

Peter ➡ With a beauty of a goddess. Shall we carry on?

Marian ➡ To where?
.

Peter ➡ Our date.
.

Marian ➡ Sure. Let’s go.

Shortly after that, Peter started his car and drove us off to our date. The road was empty as we drove through it and the drive was smooth and steady not to mention the gentle breeze that blew through our faces. Everything seemed perfect.
After some minutes later, We arrived at our destination which was the infamous racist cinema. The reason why I mentioned the word * Racist * was because this cinema only allows white people to enter. All black people have no access to this place, except those that work in,side the place . After the car was parked, Peter and i headed to the building walking side by side. In that moment, I realized of all the people that came to the cinema I was the only colored person there. All eyes soon fell on me and it didn’t take along before I was ridiculed and insulted.

White woman 1 ➡ Isn’t that Peter brown? What’s he doing with that monkey girl?

White woman 2 ➡ She must have manipulated his mind with black magic.
.

White woman 3 ➡ Please stop saying dumb things. That ape may be his concubine or Sl–t.

White woman 4 ➡ Just look at her black skin. Urrgh. She looks like a pig’s shit.
.

White woman 5 ➡ She’s even ugly. Look at her dress, so dirty.

White woman 1 ➡ You call those rags dress?

White man 1 ➡ Lay off ladies. I can’t blame the man, the black B–tch is stunning.

White man 2 ➡ I agree. She’s also blessed with refined body. I wonder how much I would pay for some minutes with her?

White woman 1 ➡ Disgraceful! You’d waste on money on that ugly African pig.

White woman 3 ➡ Of course he would, after all black women are so cheap and accessible.

Everyone laughed at that last remark, I felt so disgraced that I wanted to go away but Peter held my hands tightly and urged me to ignored them.

Peter ➡ Don’t listen to these bullies. You’re perfect.

Marian ➡ We can’t stay here. They’ll continue ridiculing me.
.

Peter ➡ Don’t bother with them. You’re here with me and we’re here to have a good time. Don’t let them get into your head, they’re trying to make you feel bad.

Marian ➡ (sighs) Okay, let’s go.
.

After that, Peter and I proceeded into the cinema but as we were trying to buy tickets, The ticket seller gave us quite a little of trouble.

Peter ➡ Two tickets please.
.

Ticket seller ➡ Two?
.

Peter ➡ Yes two?
.

Ticket seller ➡ I only see you. Where’s your partner?
.

Peter ➡ Here she is.
.

Ticket seller ➡ This negro is your esc-rt?
.

Peter ➡ Is that a problem?
.

Ticket seller ➡ Yes. She’s black.
.

Peter ➡ Watch your mouth, fool. Just do your job and sell tickets.

Peter collected the tickets 🎫 afterwards and then we proceeded into the cinema. The place was quite full but we managed to get some empty seats for the both of us.
As we sat on our seats, some European couples that were right beside us began to stare at me with hate in their eyes. They thought that I had forced my way in,side the cinema, so they decided to react.

European man ➡ Hey you… Negro girl. This isn’t the zoo. Leave this place at once.
.

European lady ➡ How did she get into this place? Do something honey. I can’t be seen sitting close to a baboon.
.

European man ➡ I’m talking to you girl! Leave this place at once.
.

Peter ➡ What’s going on?
.

European man ➡ Don’t you see this black ape next to you? Send her out immediately.
.

Peter ➡ What is wrong with you people? She’s my esc-rt, you racist fool.
.

European man ➡ (shocked) Beg your pardon??
.

European lady ➡ Your esc-rt!? My goodness.

European man ➡ Do you have any idea what you’ve done bringing this heathen to this place?

Peter ➡ Mind your business and this isn’t a church. Just a cinema.

European man ➡ I can’t stay here. Come on darling. Let’s switch seats.

As soon as European couples left, everyone looked at our direction making their own awful comments. I felt like a sheep in a pack of wolves, the insults kept coming and most of them was pointed at me. Before long, the cinema was filled with insults and noises ; instead of the people to focus on the clip that was being played, their attention was fixed on Peter and I.
I began to get scared that things might get out of hand and I wanted to leave the place for peace to reign but I couldn’t when I realized that Peter wasn’t bothered by all this. Immediately he sensed how disturbed, he calmed me down once more.

Peter ➡ Listen Marian, don’t listen to this fools.
.

Marian ➡ Are you sure it’s safe for us to stay here? The people are getting wild.
.

Peter ➡ Don’t mind them. They can’t do anything to us.
.

Marian ➡ I’m not comfortable about this. Please let’s just..
.

Peter ➡ Marian relax! As long as you’re in my company, you’re safe. You’re my esc-rt and my responsibility.
.

Marian ➡ I’m sorry Peter.. I can’t stand this.
.

In that very moment, I got out of my seat and headed to towards the door, Peter too followed me calling me to come back but I ignored him and left the cinema.
As soon as we got outside, Peter caught up to me and grabbed hold of my arm. He held me tightly in front of him, despite my struggle.

Marian ➡ Let go of me, Peter.
.

Peter ➡ Calm down Marian.
.

Marian ➡ Let me go. I have to get home. Take me home.
.

Peter ➡ Okay, okay, okay. I’ll take you home. Let’s get into the car.
.

Shortly after that, Peter and I entered his car and drove straight back home. As we drove home, we were both silent, I most especially was a little bit ashamed about what I did earlier. I looked at Peter’s face and saw a little frown on his face, I wasted no time in apologizing to him.

Marian ➡ I’m sorry for what I did. I just couldn’t stay in that place for another minute.
.

Peter ➡ It’s okay. I don’t blame you. You were being bullied and I shouldn’t have taken you there. I’m sorry too.
.

Marian ➡ So you’re not angry?
.

Peter ➡ What? No, I’m not.
.

Within minutes, Peter and I arrived at the bee farm. We stayed in his car and talked for a while before he dropped me off and drove off to his own house.

Peter ➡ I’m sorry I didn’t give you a good time. I’ll be sure to plan a better date next time.
.

Marian ➡ It’s okay. Thanks for the gift. It was lovely.
.

Peter ➡ Not as lovely ad you are.
.

Marian ➡ Thanks.. Uhm, I have to go now.
.

Peter ➡ Sure. See you next time.
.

Marian ➡ I’ll be looking forward to it. Bye.
.

Peter ➡ Bye.
.

After I got down from the car, Peter drove away to his own home and as soon as his car was out of sight, I went straight to the servant’s quarters.
Despite how the night turned out to be, I must say it was nice to have a White man admire me for who I am and the gift I got was truly lovely.
As I approached the main house, I realized it was dark and quiet. Even Elizabeth’s room that was always bright with candle lights was dark. Even the servant’s quarters was empty and silent which made me wonder where was everybody. Suddenly, I began to hear loud mo-ns coming from Luan’s quarters and what surprised me was the mo-ns which was recognizably Elizabeth’s voice.
I tiptoed to Luan’s quarters and stood on his front door listening to what was going on. I could clearly hear Elizabeth’s voice from within and it was clear to me what was going on in there. Luan was making love to Elizabeth and she was definitely enjoying every moment of it. I stayed at the door for a while and curiosity got hold of me, making me to take a peek.
As quietly as I could, I opened the door and saw what was going on ; Here in,side his bedroom, Luan was right on top of Elizabeth pounding her hærd on his mattress, her legs were hung on his shoulders and the two of them were covered in sweat. In that sudden moment, My brother looked up and our eyes met. I was surprised that I froze in shock, even Luan froze still staring at me but that didn’t take long thanks to Elizabeth’s intervention but before she could see me, I left the place and went back to my own room.
For a moment, I didn’t believe what I saw but as I went back to my room and laid on my bed, Elizabeth’s mo-ns rang in my ears. I’ve always respected Elizabeth and considered her a woman of pure quality but it turns out she’s just like every other white woman around here. How could she do this? She’s a married and probably older than my brother and as a christian she’s supposed to keep her marriage vows but it seems she’s just another Sl–t in disguise and as for Luan, It seems I’ll have to report him to Toby so that he can talk some sense into him.
Minutes later, the mo-ns died down and everywhere was quiet. It was obvious that Elizabeth and Luan were finally done. Shortly after that, I heard quick footsteps passing through my front door and as I looked out the window, I saw Elizabeth in her nightie running back to the main house. It was really pathetic seeing her behaving like that and the worst part was this was just the beginning. I just hope everything will be alright in the end.

What a night this turned out be! Never have I expected that this date would end in a bad note. I was hoping to give Marian a good time but those racist idiots spoiled everything, God! I’ve never been so angry.
Despite all that, my relationsh¡p with Marian and I was still intact and I’ve managed to leave a good impression on her. After I arrived home later that night, I went straight into my bedroom and threw myself on the bed thinking about Marian.
Of all the black women I’ve seen, She’s the most perfect and beautiful. She might be a commoner but her beauty is one of a kind not to mention her well formed body that was enough to turn any man’s head. I’m truly lucky 🤞 to have a woman such as her and I’ll do anything humanly possible to have her all to myself.
Suddenly as I was thinking about Marian, My dad walked into my room looking peeved and very angry. He slammed his hand on my door and called out my name.

Brown ➡ PETER!!!

Peter ➡ Yes Father!?
.

Brown ➡ You better have a good explanation for the question I’m about to ask you?

Peter ➡ Sure thing.

Brown ➡ Where have you been ?
.

Peter ➡ I went out on a date.
.

Brown ➡ And?
.

Peter ➡ Why are you asking me all this? I’m a man, not a kid.

Brown ➡ Is it true that you were with a black woman?
.

Peter ➡ Sure.
.

Brown ➡ How revolting!! A BLACK SMELLY WOMAN??

Peter ➡ Hold it father! I’ve heard enough from those racist pigs and their bullying. Don’t you insult Marian. She’s the sweetest and nicest woman ever.

Brown ➡ You disgrace me! Of all the women in the world, you have to fall for a negro woman? Have you lost your mind?
.

Peter ➡ Listen father. I love Marian. She’s special and different from all the other women I’ve been with. This is my life and don’t tell me who to be with cause I won’t listen to you.
.

Brown ➡ I can’t believe you!! My own son falling for a low-life negro. GOD!! If a word of this gets back home to England, we’ll be a laughing stock!

Peter ➡ I really don’t see what’s wrong with this.
.

Brown ➡ You’d better not let this relationsh¡p get too deep. I’ll be damned if I’m going to have a negro as my daughter in law.

Peter ➡ Is that so? Well, we shall see.

Brown ➡ That we shall.
