There is a look that can configure and disfigure your brain, calmed the anger in you and suddenly makes you forget your mission in life. That was the look on Amaya’s face, staring at the handsome saviour before her. Though Valentine’s blood was as hot as an oven which only killing Jessica could reduce the temperature but Amaya’s lovely gaze suddenly became a substitution to Jessica’s death. Therefore, Val’s blood pressure and temperature reluctantly dropped as he couldn’t also take his eyes off the young girl.
“Jessica is at Kezra.” Benny brought back their attention. Only then did Amaya realize that her hands were round Val’s waits. Quickly, she withdrew from him.
Val turned to Benny after shuffling his gun. “Where is Kezra?” he asked.
“That way!” Amaya pointed at the small bridge.
When the young boy surge forward to the bridge, Benny asked him, “Who are You?”
“I’m Valentine. We received your voice transmission and most of all, I’m here to fulfil my promise to Jessica. She’s going down tonight” he began to move.
Amaya and Benny looked at each other, glanced at the lake, hoping that Sunday and co would open the gate for them. Amaya turned to Val who was already on the bridge. “He’s from the real world” she said, almost like a whisper. Benny could see her smiling coz that was an evidence that the real world trusly exist.
“What do we do now?” Benny asked.
“I don’t know.” She replied. “Let’s follow him until Sunday and others come for us.” she added immediately.
Benny thought for a while, rushed to the lake, shouted Cynthia’s name severally, but there was no response. He came back to Amaya saying, “Let’s follow him.” They mounted a horse each, rode across the bridge to meet Val still trekking.
“Grab one of the horses let’s go. Kezra is a long way to go.” Benny told him.
Val looked at an abandoned horse by one of the dead clippers then shook his head. “I don’t know how to ride on a horse” he said with hands on his wa-ist.
Amaya chuckled. “You don’t?”
“Yes, I wish it was a car”
“Car? What’s that? Another animal?”
Hearing her, Val looked at her primitively, suddenly became speechlessly at her question. Of course he understood the girl’s primitiveness was as a result of her existence in the blank world.
“Ride with me, if you don’t mind” Amaya gave him an option. Val humped behind her on the horse before they gallop away. As an adult, Benny fully understood that Amaya had fallen in love with the stranger.

On the other hand, Jessica and her clippers had gathered everybody in front of the building at Kezra, inflicting fear and threatening them as clippers surrounded them all. One could see Jessica standing before them like a preacher on a pulpit saying, “Tonight, you choose between life and death! You must choose between us and that which is to come..” she was referring to Valentine because her men had briefed her. She continued. “Failure to cooperate, I will use the anger of what happened tonight and destroy all of you!!”
“You’ll do no such thing, Jessica!” a voice said from a horse that just approached from behind. Everybody turned to see Benny and Amaya with a stranger—Val. They jumped down from their horses, while clippers drew their swards then tension arose among everybody in the blank world, observing an absolute silence like the pass away of a ghost.
Val aimed his gun at Jessica. “I told you to kill me when you had the chance, Jessica!” he voice echoed at the base of the bridge of Kezra. Hence, breaking the silence.
Jessica smiled. “I’ve been waiting for you, Valentine. Let’s finish it here and now, little boy” he brought out a gun too which she had been hiding for years in case of this type of moment. People gasp at the sight of the gun. Amaya stepped behind Val, while Benny stepped forward in a way he blocked Valentine.
“Please, Lets settle this amicably. We must not shed blood tonight. For What? Nothing. Jessica, you need to surrender and..” a bullet from Jessica’s gun into his forehead interrupted him. Slowly, he fell down like an iroko tree. Amaya scre-med!
Before Val could comprehend what happened to retaliate, Cippers had surrounded him. Though he managed to shoot a few but sustained a cut as he found his way through them, running to Jessica who was nowhere to be found again.
Aggressively, workers went into a combat with the remaining clippers. Some carried a heavy stick while some used a large stone to fight. Though many were clipped but the victory was there’s after they killed the last clipper. However, as Val was in pursuit of Jessica, Amaya was with dead Benny, crying uncontrollably…….
