Chapter 34

Ivy

“Micheal got a new best friend” Ronald said blankly rubbing his arm on which I slapped.

My jaw dropped to ground and I punched him hærd in stomach.

“Why are you beating me?” Ronald yelled in pain.

“Because I know who that bestfriend is!!”

” Who?”

“Offcourse me!” I said proudly and this time Ronald seriously wanted to pull his hair out on my confidence but controlled his nerves.

“Apart from you, He made another best friend apart from you” He said .

“THAT CAN’T BE POSSIBLE” I shouted.

“What are you both doing?”

I and Ronald were talking when we heard someone say from behind.

“Plotting your death!!” I said and turned only to gasp.

Ronald took change and ran in,side.

I too tried to walk pass him but let me rephrase i tried to pass by him when Frederick held my wrist and pulled me back.

My back collided with his rock chest.

My facial hair of my neck raised up getting alert when his hot breath started fanning the exposed part of my back below my neck.

“Well I heard that someone was too eager to sit on my lap” He said drawing irregular shapes on my neck and shoulder.

I shivered under his touch.

“No..no!!” I muttured.

He turned me around facing him and my hands went on his chest.

“Really?” He raised his brow grazing my jaw line.

“Yea..yeah!!” I said lowering my head.

“Does my touch make you nervous??”He smirked.

Yes.

“No” I said trying to be confident but all my confident went in vain when he started leaning on my face.

His l-ips were so close to my cheeks.

I closed my eyes tightly waiting for it but it never came.

I opened my eyes only to see an amused Frederick.

I somehow felt disappointed.

“What were you thinking?” He smirked.

“Nothing. Leave my arm.” I said with annoyance.

“I never held your arm” he said shaking head in no along with
surrendering his hands in air.

My mouth hung opened.

I quickly retreated my hands from his chest and went in,side making faces.

Micheal was messaging someone when I punched him directly on his head making him fall from the sofa whincing.

“Who is this wild here?”

Micheal whined rubbing his neck .

“It is me. How could you do this mike? How?” I said punching him nonstop.

“But first tell me what I have done?” Hr said trying to stop me as I was continuously kicking and punching him.

“How could you make a new best friend apart from me? You said that I will always be your only best friend” I said with a teary eyes.

“Who told you?” Mike said out of shock and his gaze directly landed on Ronald who was hiding his face behind the cushion.

“Leave that. Just tell me is ot true or Not? Did you make a new best friend?” I punched him again.

“I didn’t know that you can be this fierce” Ronald said wide eyeded looking at me as I was beating micheal like a punching bag.

“She is doing what she had seen before!” Aaron winked at him.

Just then Frederick came in and his jaw was touching ground looking at the WWE happening in front of him.

“Oooooo” Ronald hooted when he remembered that I went gym with Aaron.

“Well ivy, he didn’t only befriended with her this morning….he also proposed her!” Ronald said whistling.

Micheal was about to chime on his breath hearing this.

I gave them a strange look.

“Want to know how he proposed her?” Ronald asked and I nodded.

“Damn Ivy, It’s hilarious but I will still tell you.”He said

” Coffee in one hand and pasta in the other hand. Marry me God sake.” Ronald said and we all burst into laughter except Fredrick who controlled his laugh looking at the vulnerable situation of Micheal.

I gave micheal an ‘are you serious?’ look.

“Mike?/Seriously? Were you proposing to her or begging? Who the hell proposes like this?” I said raising my eyebrow and ronald and ronald gave HiFive to each other laughing like lunatics.

” How do you know??” Michael asked Ronald.

“Cause the the lady whom you were chatting with is none other than me!!!” Ronald grinned.

I exchanged looks with Aaron and we burst into laughter.

“Save yourself Now!!” Michael yelled and ran behind Ronald.

The wh0le house was watching their cat and rat show.

“Geez, Now I have to walk all the way long to the kitchen to drink water” I gro-ned looking at the empty water bottle and lazily stood up.

It was raining heavily outside with thunderstorm.

I went directly to the kitchen and after drinking and filling my bottle, I went to my room.

Again and again light was shining in the sky giving the night horrific look.

I was about to open the door of my room when I heard a sound of something falling.

I froze on my steps.

After thinking for quite some time, I walked towards Frederick’s room from where the sound came.

His room door was slightly opened.

Chapter 35

IVY

I peeked at the wall clock which was in front of me and found it indicating 2 in the morning.

I looked here and here but couldn’t find anyone.

Strange!!

I was about to turn back when again a shattering sound came startling me.

I turned around and opened the door slightly trying not to make any noise and entered in,side.

The room was looking like a complete mess.

All the things were scattered here and there.

Just then I noticed Fredrick sitting on the floor beside his bed.

Again a flash roared outside and I saw his hand shivering.

This continued until I sat beside him on the floor and intertwining my hand with his shivering one.

He looked at me shocked.

“What are you doing here?” He shouted.

Seems he didn’t want anyone to see his miseries.

“I am here with you. Don’t worry.’ I said politely looking at our intertwined fingers.

“I don’t need you. Just get out” he shouted again pointing at door.

I stood up and after giving him a last glance I went towards the door.

He heard the door locking and thought that I left but his notion faded away when after locking the door I again sat beside him.

“I am not leaving you here alone. ” I said and he glared at me.

“I said, I don’t need you…”

“Shut up! Just shut up! Why do you have to be this egoistic every time? Everyone has their own fears. What is wrong in it if you are afraid of thunderstorms and flashes?” I shouted interrupting him

FREDRICK

I was afraid that she will make joke of me but instead I saw concern in her eyes.

I felt quite and didn’t say anything.

I looked at her who again intertwined our fingers.

She smiled politely and I averted my gaze.

Again a flash roared and I shut my eyes closed.

I felt a slight squeeze on my hand and found her looking at me with assuring smile.

I leaned back putting my head on bed edge.

Moments passed with us sitting like this when I felt something moving behind my head.

I opened my eyes quickly and saw her who quickly cupped my face and made me lay on her lap.

My head almost fell on her lap.

“What the hell you are trying to do?” I glared at her trying to get up but she made me lay again with my head on her lap by pushing me back with her hands on my chest.

“Lay down. I will make you feel peaceful by car-ssing your hair. ” she said.

“No I don’t want..”

“Please” she pleaded and I laid back cursing.

She started car-ssing my hair and m-ssaging my head.

A flash roared outside and I shut my eyes tightly.

She kept m-ssaging my head, Moments passed in silence.

Rain and flashes had stopped long ago and I even forgot about them.

“I am not afraid of thunderstorms! It just.. it’s just that they remind me of something I don’t want to”

The silence in the room broke by my voice.

She looked at me and our eyes met.

“Want to share? I am not forcing you. It is totally go to you but I will suggest you to share it. To get your frustration out and believe me it will ease you” She smiled.

I scanned her face closely and clearly with my sharp scrutinizing gaze but didn’t see not even a sign of betrayal and plan of mocking me.

I sighed .

“It was the same haunting night when they brought him dead to our doorsteps!!” I said.

She looked at me in utter horror getting alert what else she was about to hear.

“Whom?” She whispered.

“My dad” I said looking here and there.

Shivers ran down to my spine.

Chapter 36

IVY

Unknowingly I placed my hand on his hand which was kept on his chest.

His eyes snapped at me.

I nodded in assurance.

He took a deep breath and took my hand in his both hands.

“My dad was a fruit seller. There was a leader of land mafia who wanted to build a building on the place where many poor people used to sell their produts and fruits in their little shelter less shops. It was called poor market that is why no one gave a damn about that market when that builder ordered his men to destroy those shops. But those people who used to feed their families by their little earnings were grieved to death. One day one of them raised his voice about not undergoing that torture and some of other fruit sellers and other workers supported him while others pulled these steps back in fear of that land mafia.
One day they all protested and in return the people of that land mafia shooted those poor sellers dead mercilessly.” He said playing with my finger tips.

A whimper left my mouth which caught his attention.

I stretched his hand and wiped my tears.

” You know what? The one who started the protest was none other than my dad, Anderson grande. It was raining badly when I and my mother was crying and soaking beside his body which was drenched in blood.” He took a painful sigh.

” You must have loved your dad too much?” I asked in teary voice.

“Loved?? I used to worsh¡p him. He was my hero whose super powers were only for me and mother. He was poor among all people but for me he was the king and the richest man of the world because he never refused to give me the things I asked for. You know what he used to say to me before sleeping every night?” He said turning completely towards me with his head still on my lap.

” You tell me” I shoke my head.

“He used to say that, Frederick, no matter what never let evil get empowered in you. If you ever feel lonely then look at your yourself in mirror and there you will find your strength. Don’t step back in fear of losing. If you think you will be defeated then you are! Now!! At that same instance!! If you think you won’t be able to keep up the battle then you are already beaten. Don’t beg for people to join you and make a gang but start working alone silently and let your success show them the meaning of one man army. Those days when I left the hope of living anymore I saw dad in my dream. He repeated the same lines and further said that you are defeating yourself. After that I started a new life with a determination of stopping all these evil.” He stopped and saw that my hair strands was rolled on his fingers.

Unknowingly while speaking he started twirling my hair strands on his fingers.

“I am sorry for your loss!!” I whispered lowly.

He nodded.

“That night I felt like it was the end of world. I felt that I won’t be able to smile again and look at life again. I was broken beyond repair. I felt like i wont be able to take my next breath but look here I am strong and unbeatable.” He sighed.

“All that situations passed like a beautiful sad song leaving you with many lessons and this will pass too!! Time is no one’s property. It was in favour of evil while ago and it will soon be in your favour. All matters is that whom time chooses to favour.”

After that we talked for sometime and didn’t know when sleep consumed us in its embrace.

I opened my eyes feeling my legs getting numb and saw Fredrick sleeping on my lap while gripping my hand near his face.

I smiled at the sight trying to control the pain on my lap due to sitting like this for hours.

Unknowingly a whimper left my mouth and Fredrick eyes opener with jolt and he sat up.

I quickly straighten my legs.

“Ahh… um.. let me see!!” He said gripping my ankle.

“Ouch! Easy please.” I shouted when he tried to twist my ankle.

He nodded and twist my ankle and a scre-m left my mouth.

“Aaahh!” Islapped his arm and he glared at me.

“Its fine now” fredrick said and I felt the pain disappearing.

“Wow. How you did this?” I asked excited moving my legs up and down.

“That’s none of your bussiness” he said standing up.

I pouted at his rudeness and stood up too.

I was about to leave when he called me.

” Yes?”

“Nothing” He said averting his gaze.

I shrugged and again turned but again he called me.

” Yes Frederick?” I said annoyingly.

“Um.. Nothing!! Go!!” He said moving his hand in hair.

“You are welcome” I said and he looked at me shocked.

I winked at him smilingly and went out leaving Fredrick with opened mouth.

FREDRICK

I came back home from work and was going to gym when I heard voices coming from launch.

I went in just to see a crowd.

“What is happening here??” I asked.

Micheal and Ronald turned towards me.

” Your wife happening”Michael said.

ronald and Michael stood aside revealing Ivy who was crying while rubbing her eyes like a child.

“What happened to her?” I asked with amusement.

Gosh!!

She was looking like cartoon.

“Ivy has tooth ache!!” Ronald said.

“So you must have taken her to dentist.” I said casually.

“Nope. we are begging her to come with me to the dentist but she is adamant. Like husband like wife!! Stubborn like cats!!”
Micheal said rolling his eyes and earned a punch from me on his back.

“What is this behaviour Ivy?” I stepped closer to her.

“What do you mean?/I won’t Go. I have told them numerous times that I am afraid of needles. JUST LET ME LIVE IN PEACE” she shouted in annoyance while I took one step back at her outburst.
