Joshua the security officer episode 2

JOSHUA -THE SECURITY OFFICER
Episode 2
Shilla dialed Andrew’s number and assured him that they would surely meet.
She went back to her laptop after talking to her friend Andrew, It was a great relief to her.
Doctor Arnold joined Shilla in her office after the man and his wife had left.
Shilla concentrated on what she was doing on the laptop.
“is there hope for that little girl?” Doctor Arnold asked.
Shilla wasn’t surprised at the question because looking at the state of the child’s system, it wasn’t well on Gifts side, one could easily throw his or her hands in the air in despair and give up on the little girl.
” Arnold, things are bad and it will take a miracle for Gift to survive the surgery, we have to put everything in God’s hands , but above all we treat and God heals” Shilla replied to Doctor Arnold.
” Arnold, do you know that actually told the girl’s parent she had forty percent chance of survival after the surgery but it was never true. It was worse than that. I really wated to give them hope, and also told them a prayer would be of a help to save Gift’s life” Shilla added.
” Arnold what touched my heart is a couple being marriage for ten years, being patient for all those years, God answers their probably only one question and then at last happiness turns to tears, and probably lifetime tears in case God takes Gift’s life” Shilla added as tears went down to her chest like never before.
Shilla couldn’t control her emotions, as she put herself in Gift’s parent’s shoes.
” Shilla, don’t worry, let’s put everything in God’s hands, let’s treat, God will heal” Doctor Arnold consoled.
“I must confess that this is the most critical case I have come across since I became a professional doctor. Most of the surgeries I have done on other patients were different. They either had fifty or sixty percent chance of survival but this one seems to be different” Shilla said as tears continued rolling.
” The actual chance of the girl to survive after the surgery is as low as twenty percent, am afraid Gift loosing her life, a beautiful daughter of a doctor and a security officer, this is serious God” Shilla said looking at Doctor Arnold who had made himself comfortable in the opposite swivel chair in the office.
“you should have told her parent the truth” Doctor Arnold reasoned.
“oh no! Arnold, this is too much, how would they feel? You didn’t expect me to slam their faces with the truth. Do you? I’m really feeling their pain” Shilla replied.
” Doctor Arnold, this is not time to look at the negative side of the situation. Let’s work as a team and do our possible best to make this surgery a success. We can!” Shilla said with charisma given her full attention to her assistant as she believed and trusted in God.
“Amen…Doctor Shilla my senior, I believe in you, Am sure we can!” Doctor Arnold said but deep within himself, he wasn’t sure the surgery was going to be successful.
“Mr Man, enough of the office talk. Today is Thursday. What are you guys up to, this weekend. I mean you and your wife?” Shilla inquired with a smile.
“Well, I have s₱0tted a very beautiful Safari lodge at Mabira Forest. My wife and I will have a one day vacation at the place. It’s going to be fun” Doctor Arnold disclosed.
“By the way, what’s up with you also this weekend. Going to be all alone in the house?” Doctor Arnold Asked….as he laughed off.
” You join me and my wife, we go have fun at Mabira” Doctor Arnold added.
” Hahaaahaa Arnold.. hell no! You want mama …Policarp to break my small head” Shilla replied as she laughed off too.
” Wait Arnold, guess what?….I am going to Auto Spa Munyonyo to meet an engineer this weekend” Shilla said smilingly.
“Who knows, he could be my Prince Charming who will lead me to the alter” Shilla said with a broad smile across her cheeks.
Doctor Arnold shook his head and said ” hmmm world full of drama ” though he was smiling. Shilla got the red signal.
“please mr man, don’t come and preach me about love and profession, I know what i want in life” Shilla said on a lighter note trying to put Doctor Arnold off.
Doctor Arnold, was a little disturbed by Shilla’s serious warning.
“Shilla! I keep telling you love has nothing to do with profession. Just accept love as it presents itself to you. It’s good to marry someone who is into something big but the question is, will that person make you happy or miserable? Will they give you respect, will they love you back? Just clear your mind off that mentality you are holding on to and the real man will come along and not a professional man. Marriage is a life time affair. Choose wisely” Doctor Arnold advised as he said nice weekend my senior.
“oh gosh! There he goes again with his sermon. I hear you sir but I know what I want in life” Shilla said with a giggle.
“Shilla will never change her mind to love just ordinary person, I need a respected profession” Shilla thought to herself.
“But wait Doctor Arnold, back to business now” Shilla said.
“on a more serious note, the little girl must be prepared for the theatre on Monday. We have to do what we can to save Gift’s life” Shilla said to her assistant Arnold.
“Hmmmm. Okay, we will do what we can” Arnold confirmed
Shilla realised Doctor Arnold had little or no faith that the surgery would be successful but she kept silent on the matter. He had every right to doubt the survival of the child because of the state in which she was.
She was actually seventy percent dead already but Shilla didn’t want to give up on her so easily. She was determined to try whatever it takes to help Gift back to life.
Her passion for children made her chose to be a paediatrician. Anytime a child lost her life in the hospital, Dr. Shilla would go to her office, lock herself up and shed tears .
Shilla did it behind closed doors because it was unprofessional to add emotions to the profession. This is something not accepted in a doctor’s life.
Dr Shilla went round the wards to check up on the patients in the hospital after talking to doctor Arnold, The last patient she visited was the child that was brought to the hospital earlier that day.
Shilla stood at the entrance of the ward and stared at the little girl Gift who was lying on the bed with so many cables connected to her body as his mother either dosed or prayed.
Gift looked peaceful on the bed but Shilla knew she wasn’t that much peaceful. She was going through hell.
Dr Shilla went back to her office and continued with what she was doing before Doctor Arnold interrupted her in the office.
Doctor Shilla was a young, beautiful and bold. She always got what she wanted. From childhood, she desired to become a doctor.
Her father wasn’t sure about his daughter being a doctor. What he actually saw in her was a journalist.
Everybody around Shilla knew her as a parrot. Shilla could talk morning till evening without getting tired.
When she was about to enter her high School, her father advised her to choose a general art program.
But Shilla having a mental picture of where she wanted to be, chose science and to her father’s surprise, she came out of high school with flying colors.
Shilla was the best student selected by government in Soroti District.
At the age of twenty nine years, Apolot Shilla had her PhD and has been one of the best female paediatrician in the country so far.
Immediately Shilla drove out of the hospital on Friday after work, she hit Andrew’s line.
Andrew advised her not to worry because she had given her number to the engineer and would surely call to meet her.
Shilla was thrilled and tickled with happiness.
Shilla drove home, took a shower and put on a dinner dress which looked beautiful on her slender and tall body, showing all the curved booty.
She stared at herself in the mirror for several times.
Wow God thanks for the previous gift of nature, Shilla was very conscious of her beauty. Shilla over felt herself.
Just as she was admiring herself, she heard a gentle knock on her door ko kookoong.
” Yes please… Patrick” as Shilla moved to the door knowing very very well it was no other person than her gate man.
” My boss there is a gentleman standing outside who would want to see you” her gate man said.
Oooh that’s fine,
Shilla asked the gate man a few questions about who that person could be.
She was expecting a call from the gentleman Andrew his friend spoke about and so she wasn’t in the mood to entertain any visitor.
” Patrick how does he look like?” Shilla asked.
” Aaah Madam.. this guy is an African not a white, he looks like a munyankole, he’s on a brown coat, black shoe and he’s not lame….sorry I didn’t mind to check him very well” the gate man stammered.
” Patrick, you think that’s him, that description is enough…. God why!” Shilla wondered.
The description of the visitor by the gate man surprised Shilla.
The gate man’s description was too shallow, and
Shilla knew not any gentleman with that description.
More so she never had any appointment with anyone at her home, she wasn’t expecting any visitor that Friday evening.
” Patrick, allow him into the house.” Shilla said as she was curious to know who the person was.
Two minutes later, Patrick entered in the house with the visitor.
“go back to your post” Shilla ordered the gate man.
The gentleman was not bad looking
The gentleman was five point five feet tall, around Seventy something kilogram in weight, dark in complexion, a chocolate guy, he had a very handsome look.
His hair was decently trimmed. He had a cool brown coat on.
” You are welcome sir, which drink may i offer you?” Shilla inquired.
” You are welcome gentleman but I don’t know you anywhere and I’m not expecting anyone this evening too. Can you please tell me who you are because you actually got me when am I was almost leaving to catch up with a friend?” Dr Shilla said displaying a surprised look.
” Ooh thanks madam….. Am called Mr….. (part of text missing)………………….
