DANIEL POV

I layed on my bed scrolling through Mary profile.

A lot of dancing video of her self and pictures were all there.

I found my self going through each and every one of them.

Some of them I find it cute and some I find it to be cute too.

I had gotten her angry this morning and I hope that I will find a way to correct my mistake.

I wouldn’t deny that I had let my anger take over but I had to know if she had some thing to do with James and her reaction helped clearify it, she doesn’t have any thing to do with him.i thought feeling happy and excited.

I was still checking out the card when I heard my mom yelling from her room.

“It has started again?”I muttered to my self.

I stood up and head towards their room,if some one doesn’t interfere, they wouldn’t quit it.

“You still love her! You can’t deny it “My mom yelled and that made me stop.

“Stop bugging me and just leave me alone”My father yelled in return

Just a while ago they had both left together to dine out and now they are back yelling off each other head.

“Admit it Max! When you saw her today you regret not choosing her, you regret choosing me and your son over the love of your life, admit it Max and stop being a cowa……….”

“Yes okay! Yes I regret it, is that what you want to hear! I regret having married you,I regret leaving her back then, I regret going to the states, I regret it all Rose!” My father yelled and it was quiet for a while.

“You bastard! How can you say this to me! After giving you my love, after staying with you for years,this is how you repay me?”My mom yelled again

“I never asked for your love rose and you knew what the score was when you married me, I made it clear to you that my heart belongs to some one else and that it will never ever belong to you”He said

“I hate you! I hate you ! I hate you so much “I heard my mom yelling and quickly I went into their room only to see my mom hitting him

Quickly I went to her and pulled her from him “I hate you Max! I hate you so much!”She yelled at him

“It’s enough mom”I said holding her

“Just leave! You have done enough as it is, go away!”I yelled at my dad who hesitated at first and then he walked out of the room

It took a while before my mom stopped crying.

“Is this a new lover of his?” I asked

“No, she has been his first love “she replied

“And is it because of her that he has been acting this way towards us ?”I asked

” Yes Daniel, I met her again today, that lady is so shameless,she is willing to keep on seeing your father, have tried to keep them apart but she keeps on coming back, am so worried, what can I do Daniel, I love your father even though he doesn’t love me”she said crying and i hugged her tight.

“It’s his problem if he doesn’t love us, you don’t have to force your self on him “I said softly

“Don’t you think it’s time that you got a divorce mom”I said softly

“I don’t believe in divorce and I don’t think I want a divorce”she said softly

“But mom! will you keep on going through this for the rest of your life?”I asked

“If I have to,I will, I love him Daniel, I love him that I can’t dare to leave him” she said and i nodded slowly.

After a while she dozed off, I put the sheets over her and left the room, gently closing the door.

I turned only to see my dad by the door m, seems like he was waiting for us to finish our bonding session

“She is still in a bad mood dad, I hope you dont cause more tears tonight, she has cried enough”I said

“Do you think that I will really cheat on your mom”he asked when I was Bout to leave

“First time that you ask me that? Why?”I asked softly

“Is your conscience bothering that you want to rid some of it away dad? Fine then rid it away, tell me how many lover you have now or no tell me the name of the woman that have stolen your love from mother and I “he said

“I only stayed back to talk to you but it seems like you are not in a good mood , so I will just take my leave”he said and walked off.

I woke up the next day feeling a bit tired and still angry about last night!

If I had been born in a happy home, would my child hood have been a happy child hood,I thought as I got dressed for school.

I got down stairs and saw my dad at the break fast table having his break fast.

It’s quite odd, I hærdly see him in the morning, I thought as I went to the break fast table.

“Morning!”I said stiffly

“Morning, have your break fast, we will be leaving for your school today!”he said .

“Why?”I asked

“I just want to take you to school today!” He said

“You have never been interested in what I did, so why are you now meddling ?”I asked

“Don’t be rude Daniel, I haven’t been doing things with you doesn’t mean that I am not interested, am just too busy with work ” he said

“If you were really interested, you would have made a time father,your work wouldn’t be more important than us”I said softly

“You won’t under stand Daniel, so it’s best that you finish your break fast and we leave for school”he said softly

“Am not hungry, let’s just go”I said and went out of the house.

Together we left for school and as soon as the car stopped, I got out and was about to leave when he called me back.

Knowing that other students were starring at me, I went back to him.

“I have a class now, so what ever you are going to say have to be quick!”I said

“I would like us to spend some time together today!”he said

“I have some school project to do with a friend “I lied

“After that?”he asked

“I will have to do my assignment”I said

“Isn’t there a way for you to create a chance for me? What about tomorrow?”he asked

“Why are you trying hærd to get my attention?why don’t you do what you have always been doing father? Just leave me alone”I said feeling very angry and then I walked off unknown to me Mary was watching every thing.

MARY POV

“Hello Mary”Miranda greeted as soon as I walked into the class room

“Morning,hope am not late for any class?”I asked her

“You are just on time”she replied as she brought out her phone

“Have you heard?”she asked

“I hope it’s not about me and James! Cause have told you guys that nothing is going on between us “I said as I brought out my book

“Oh it’s not about James and you, it’s about Daniel, look at this picture, it’s trending on the school page now”she said showing me a picture of Daniel and a man at the school gate.

“We have all been wondering where he got his hand some look and it’s from his father, just look at the two of them, if I weren’t young,I would have gone after his father”Miranda said

“This man is his dad?”I asked

“Of course, can’t you tell from the hotness of the two of them”she said

I stared at the picture and i wasn’t seeing the the hotness from the two men but instead I saw the anger emanating between them.

He had looked angry when he was talking to his dad. did some thing happen between them ? I thought.

Just then he walked into the class room and every one who was talking kept shut to stare at him

He stared at me and for a while our eye locked together but then he looked away.

“Isn’t he so hand some?”Miranda muttered beside me

He is hand some and but some thing else is bothering him and I can tell that it hurts him, I thought to myself.

MARY POV

Wanting to be on my own,I went to up to the school roof.

I sat there munching on a snack that I had bought and I was thinking about Daniel.

I find myself thinking about Daniel all the time and why I don’t even know.

I stood up and saw the students walking about and I also saw James, he was looking for some one while a lot of girls were gazing at him

Who is he looking for ? I thought as I munch on my snack.

Just then I felt a pain on my stomach,it was sharp and intense, this is the second time I will be feeling the pain and this time it hurt more

It hurt so much that I could hærdly walk and no one is around to help me

I dialled Miranda number but she wasn’t picking.

Having no choice I dialled James number and still there was no answer.

I was still trying to call James when I got an unknown call.

I answered it only to hear Daniel voice,thank God there is some one to call after all .

“Huh have been looking for you and I………”

“Please…….come to the roof top…..am in so much pain!” I said clutching my stomach.

DANIEL POV

As soon as I got the call from Mary, I began to head to the roof top.

Every one was starring at me but I didn’t care, all I was thinking of was Mary.

She had said it hurts, what is she suffering from? I thought as I climb the stairs that led to the roof and went in search of her.

I saw her crouched by the floor beside the railing and I ran to her.

“Mary? Mary ? Are you okay?”I asked and she shaked her head

“It hurts Daniel, it hurts!”she said and with out waiting for further ado.

I carried her into my arms and head to the school infirmary with her.

Other students kept starring at us but they were the least of my worries, Mary is more important right now, I thought.

A while later I sat on a chair beside her bed starring at her sleep.

Even when sleeping, she looks gorgeous, I thought as I held her hand

“You are still here? I told you that she will be fine, it’s just some indigestion , why don’t you head to class” the doctor said

“I know Miss but I don’t want to leave her yet, I don’t want to!”I said softly and she gave me a disapproving look

“Please doc! Let me just stay with her,if am at any other class, I won’t be able to focus, I will be worried about her,please”I begged using cute face for once.

“Fine then! You can stay , you must really love her a lot right? She is one lucky girl” the doctor said leaving the room.

I thought about what the doctor said, am I really in love with her ?

The only thing I feel towards Mary is like, I only like her but would I be doing all this if only I like her.

A guy wouldn’t go this far if they weren’t in love .There is a limit if you like some one but if you love some one……….I better not think about it.

I only like Mary, I thought as I held her warm hand

“Mary!” I heard James call but before I could do a thing to protect us both, he walked into the room.

He stared at me and then at Mary who was laying on the bed.

Ignoring me, he called out Mary name but I stopped him from doing further by getting up

“She is asleep now! Do not bother her ?”I said

“And who are you to tell me that?”He asked

“I have every right, now leave here James, you are being a nuisance”I said

“What? Me a nuisance? “he asked starring at me

“Who do you think is being a nuisance most? You are ! You are nothing to her but you keep on sticking to her like a glue, just stay away from her”he yelled at me

“Me sticking to her like a glue helped her today, where were you when she needed you, she had called but you never picked, If I hadn’t call her, she wouldn’t be here! so tell me if you aren’t being a nuisance?”I said

“Just because you were by her side when she needed you doesn’t mean that you have a right over her”he yelled angrily

“I do have a right? I certainly do have a right now more than ever “I said and was rewarded with him pulling me by my shirt.

“What’s going on In here?”the doctor asked as she walked into the room.

“Nothing !”I replied as I pulled free from James clutch.

“I told you that she needs a lot of rest and you arent giving her that, so I suggest that you two leave!”She said

“But I ………”James began only to be cut off by a look from her.

We both left the infirmary and I began to head towards the other end when he stopped me

“Haven’t you had enough, isn’t it time that you stay away from Mary,can’t you see that am getting along with her?”he asked

“And am also doing the same and as have said , let’s see who will get to be with her, so less talking and more action”I said and walk off.

A while later I was sent on an errand by the math teacher when I saw her leaving the school.

“Why is she leaving?”I said and quickly I did what he said and went back to class to take my bag.

I got out side only to see her getting into a bus and quickly I went in,walking towards her and sitting beside her.

MARY POV

I sat in the bus waiting for other passenger like myself to get in and just then I saw Daniel getting into the bus and what’s worse, he came to sit beside me

I was still feeling embarrassed by what happen, I wanted some one else to be there but he was the only one there and that got me feeling embarrassed and grateful altogether .

It was quiet for a while and I turned only to see him starring at me

“How are you feeling now?”he asked having a beautiful smile on his face

“Am…am good……better”i said starring away

Why does Daniel make me feel this way, am not some one who is easily shy but each time am around him, am always feeling that way, I can’t wait for the bus to get to my destination.

“I got down from the bus and though I was still feeling a bit sick, I walked on.

I didn’t want him to see that am still not feeling okay .

I turned to see if he was leaving with the bus but I was shocked to find him behind me.

“Aren’t you going home?”I asked

“Of course I am, this is the route to my home”he said as he walked past me

“But I thought the next stop will lead to your home?”I asked

“You got it wrong, my house is just around the corner”he replied softly

He began to head towards a route but then he stopped looking confused for a while.

I couldn’t stop myself from smiling,this is not the route to his house, he is following me,I thought as I walked past him

All through the time that I walk home, he was following me and some how that felt reassuring and protecting.

I got home only to see that no one was home.

Grand ma is always home at a time like this, where could she be now! I thought as I brought out my phone to call her but it prove to be fruitless as well

I called my mom too but still the same, would I have to wait out side for them,I thought as I held my stomach which was acting up again

I turned to see Daniel there starring at me , why won’t he just leave? I thought as I tried calling my mom and grand mother number again.

“Your parents are not at home right?”he asked as he came to me

“They are on their way, you dont have to……….”

“Come with me!”he said pulling me towards a taxi

“Where are we going to?”I asked

“Just come with me”He said as he pushed me into the taxi and with him sitted, the taxi drive off.
