ANDREA POV
“Isn’t that the young master?” She asked as Max walked into the ward
“Yes it’s me” Max said as he came to stand beside me
“How are you feeling Ma’am? We were worried about you “Max said
“Am doing good, thank you for coming to check on me and thank you for being with my daughter ” she said as she took his ɦaռɖ.
“Andrea would have done the same for me,so it’s not some thing to be grateful of” he said
“Mom I think you should rest now, you need to get your strength back”I said
“Before that I would like to ask for your permission “Max said
“Permission for what?”
“The school is having a school trip and Andrea doesn’t want to go, would you please grant her the permission to come with us” he asked ɦɛʀ,
“Mom please don’t pay attention to Max, the school trip is not important and I prefer to stay here with you”I replied quickly
“But this will be the first school trip you աɨʟʟ attend to and so you have to go”she said
“But mom, you are sick and………..”
“Have seen to it that the nurses watch over her, you can be rest assured Andrea, just say yes” Max said cutting me off
“Just go on this school trip, it will be the best for you , you will get to learn more and know more places”My mom said
“And besides the young master will be with you”she added
That is what am trying to avoid, I don’t want to be any where close to Max.
If I should go on this trip, I will be close to him and I don’t want that.
“Come with me”I pulled Max out of the room
“You shouldn’t have done that Max ”
“When you refused to come on this trip “He replied
“If I decide not to come it’s none of your business “I said
“But I want to make it my business”he replied
“Look Max I……..”I couldn’t finish my word because he hugged me.
“I want you at this school trip, I want to tell you something and i can only do it there”He whispered into my ear
“Why can’t you tell me now” I said enjoying the comfort of being in his arms
“Cause it’s not something I can say now,You have to be at the trip, you really have to”He said as he let me go.
“I will only be there because I want to know what you want to tell me, I look forward to it”i replied and he gave me a smile in return.
“Go back to your mom, I will be off now “he said as he waved me off.
I can be close to him at the trip right, there won’t be any one watching out for his mom, this will be the last time I get close to him ,after the trip, I will keep my distance, I thought sadly.
THE DAY OF THE SCHOOL
TRIP
With my bag packed, I left the maid room and head to the kitchen to take a juice with me.
I kept thinking about what Max have to say to me, he has got me feeling so curious.
I look forward to this trip so I can get to know what he has to tell me.
I had taken two bottles and was heading back when the kitchen door opened to reveal Max mom.
I bowed in greeting and she nodded gently as she went to pour herself a glass of water.
“You are going for the school trip right?”She asked and I nodded
“I doubt if Max have told you yet” she began slowly
“But he has gotten back with Rose, they haven’t told anyone yet, am the only that knows and I will prefer that you keep it a secret”She said
“Max have gotten back with Rose?”I asked
“Yes he has, I only asked him to be civil towards her but yesterday he came to me, saying the both of them are finally back together, isn’t that a great news”she asked
“Yy….yes it is” I answered softly
“Help me keep an eye on them and update on what they are doing okay,I want to know how far they have gone in their renuion and probably when Max clocks 19, they will be engaged”she said
She had no idea how her words hurt but I hid it perfectly, I didn’t let my emotion show and i won’t let it show.
“I will update you Ma’am, I will take my leave now”I said and left the kitchen in a hurry.
Is this what he wanted to tell me? That he has gotten back with Rose, well he should have told me right then and there, I would never have agreed to go on this trip.
The trip to school was like torture for me, I don’t think I will be able to with stand seeing Max and Rose together.
I stood in front of the school entrance, wondering if I should go in or not but I couldn’t get to decide because Jack came behind me and pulled my bag from my arm
“Hey!”
“You are having second thought on this trip, let me help you decide, oh! I think I have already done that and that is you will be coming with us”He said and began to walk in with my bag.
“Jack get back here”I called as I ran to him but he had made it to the others who were standing by the bus.
“You are finally here Andrea!”Beatrice said as she pulled me to her
“She was having second thoughts and so I stole her bag and having no choice she had to come” Jack said feeling proud with what he did
“You did great Jack”Brenda said giving him a high five
“I really don’t want to go”I said
“But you have to and now that you here, we won’t let you leave”Beatrice said holding me more tightly
“Isn’t that Max”Brenda said and we all turned to see Max coming with Rose.
“Are they dating for real”
“Of course they are”
“Why would they be coming in together if they are not dating” the students murmured amongst themselves
Seems like it’s the truth, I thought as I also stared at them.
Max is dating Rose again, that is the thing he has to tell me, I thought sadly
As if he sensed me watching him, he looked my way, for a brief moment I thought he was going to come to me but I must have thought wrong.
“Why don’t we get into the bus first” Jack said and before I could say a thing, he pulled me into the bus while the other students followed.

I sat in the bus starring at the scenery, I could hear the students talking and many times beatrice and Brenda have tried to get me to talk but I wasn’t in the mood to talk.
“Am ready to put my money in it, Max and Rose are dating” some students began to talk behind us
“Well I think so too, Why would they have come together and to top it all, they are even sitting together”
I found myself starring at Max and Rose who sat at the front.
“Am glad that he ended up with Rose though have often wished for him to be mine”they kept on talking
“Will you two stop talking, people are trying to have some peaceful time here”Jack said and they went silent for a while but then they began to talk about Jack and I
“Are you planning on having that peaceful time with Andrea”One of them asked loudly getting the attention of the other students
“You two are also sitting together, why don’t you admit now that you two are dating too”
“It’s nothing like that?”I replied quickly
“Stop denying it, you and Jack are both dating “they kept on persisting.
I found myself looking at Max and I saw him looking at me and just then Jack wore me his head set.
“Don’t listen to them, listen to this instead “he said to me and played a music.
It took us a while before we got to the camp and I got out of the bus along with Beatrice and Brenda only to find Max waiting for me
“Andrea we have to talk”he said softly
“I dont think we have any thing to talk about, Beatrice! Brenda! Wait for me”I said as I quickly ran towards them.
Avoiding him will ɮɛ the best thing , I thought as I got to them.

MAX POV
I stood watching her leave, what’s with the cold attitude.
“You really are some thing Max!” Geoffrey said as he stood beside me
“What do you mean?”
“How can you be dating Rose! You said you like Andrea, so what’s this?”he asked
“I do like Andrea and I mean it “I replied
“Then what’s this with Rose?”He asked
“I can’t tell you about it but all you need to know is that nothing is going on between us” I saɨɖ.
“I might believe you but she wont, I saw her avoid you just now”he said
“Do you think she believed it too?”i asked
“Why else would she be avoiding you, you might be perfect when it comes to book but when it comes to relationsh¡p you don’t know thɛ basics” Geoffrey said cooly.
“This is getting more worse”I muttered
“That is why you must tell her how you feel as soon as possible, just look at that! Jack is all over her” he said
I looked ahead and saw Jack with her, he was saying something that made her laugh.
I got so furious and jealous and if Geoffrey hadn’t been beside me, I might have gone to Jack and give him some good beating
“You need to tell her how you feel and you must do that soon” he said
“I will do it then” I replied.
“Thats it man, I will be with you all the way, I kind of like you for Andrea”he said as he gently tapped me
ANDREA POV
“This is yummy”I said as I bit into the des**t that had been served for us
We all sat around the little cafeteria that had been set out for our use.
It was quite large for the number of students that were present on the camping ground and I wouldn’t deny that even though this is not what I expect,I still love it.
This will be my first camping experience and I hope that even with Max and Rose around, I can get to have a bit of fun.
“You are right Andrea, this is very delicious”Beatrice agreed as she dig into her own des**t.
“Have you guys seen Geoffrey, i need to get my money back from that loaner”Brenda said
“I think I saw him with Max a while ago, oh! he is over there with Max and the others” the class rep replied and we all looked at the table where Max was seated with the others
I was surprised to see Max starring at me and quickly I looked away
“He is going to get it from me!!!!”Brenda said as she got up and went to Geoffrey table.
Just then Rose walked past us and went to sit beside Max.
“Wow, isnt she one lucky girl?” Beatrice said as we stared at Rose talking to Max.
“Stop talking about them and eat your des**t” Jack said and before I could stop him he took mine and began to eat it
“Hey that’s mine”I said wanting to take it from him but he ate it all and that got me feeling angry and in retaliation I hit him on his arm.
“Ooooouch!!!!!! That hurts”he yelled at me
“That’s for eating for my des**t “I said as I stood up and left the cafeteria.
My hands felt sticky and i had to wash it,I was heading to the wash room when I heard Max call
I turned to see him behind me,I would have walked off if he hadnt pulled me back
“Why are you avoiding me?”He asked
“Am not avoiding you”I replied and tried to pull my hand off but he held it tightly.
“Then why do you run away each time I try to talk to you?”he asked
“I did not run away ,am just……am”
“Max, Oh! sorry for interrupting Andrea but I have to talk to Max”Rose said
“Andrea and I………”
“It’s no problem,I was just about to leave “I said cutting Max off
“We haven’t finished talking “he said and just then Jack came to us,taking my other hand.
“She doesn’t have any thing to discuss with you, shall we Andrea? “Jack asked as he held my hand
“Andrea isn’t going any where with you!” Max replied as he pulled me back
“Just leave her alone and go and attend to your girlfriend”Jack said and immediately Max let go of me.
Feeling hurt by how he let go of me at the mention of Rose, I let Jack pull me away.
There was no one at the camping ground and that’s because they were all at the cafeteria, eating.
“Are you alright?”Jack asked
” Yes I am alright” I replied as I tried to hide the pain I was feeling
“Are you sure?”Jack asked and the tears have been holding in began to pour.
I began to cry while Jack stood watching me.
“You are not okay”he said as he hugged me tight
“I can’t take it any more Jack, it hurts so much”I said as I kept on crying in his arms
“What hurt so much?”Jack asked as he let me go to stare at me
“I like him, I really like him a lot but knowing that he doesn’t feel the same way hurts me “I said in between sobs
“You like who?”Jack asked
“Max! I like him a lot but he doesn’t feel the same way “I said as I kept on crying
“What am I going to do Jack, what should I do to stop my heart from being hurt?”I asked Jack who stood watching me in Silence
“First you should calm down, stop crying”he said as he wiped away my tears.
“I can’t take it Jack, I just can’t”I said as new tears began to pour again.
MAX POV
“What do you have to say ?”I asked as I stared at Rose still feeling angry with what happened a while earlier
“Nothing precisely, I was just looking for you to give you this?”she said as she stretched a package to me
“What’s that ?”I asked
“It’s some thing I got while coming to the camp”She said and i sighed.
“Look! Rose, if it were up to me, I won’t be talking to you, neither would I want to be close to you but have got no option, i need to protect some one, that is why I agreed to be civil towards you, don’t think that they can ever be any thing between us”I said
“I know okay, I know that you only agreed to be civil towards me but some how am Hoping that you will have a change of heart and decide to see me in another light but I guessed wrong?”she said softly
“You guessed wrong Rose, I don’t love you, neither do I even want to talk to you but due to both our parents who wants us to be civil at least, am willing to be civil towards you and I hope that you do same too Rose”I said as I walk off .
The only way I had to keep Andrea and her mom Safe is by being civil towards Rose.
If I knew that it would cause a misunderstanding like this, I would never have agreed to it .
I have to find Andrea and tell her of my feelings, I thought as I began to walk through the path she just went by with Jack when Geoffrey came to me
“Tell me! Have you told her yet?”Geoffrey asked
“I didn’t get the chance to”I replied feeling angry
“Until when will we do this! Do you want Jack to take her from you?”He asked
“Never,I won’t ever allow it”I said
“Then please Max move up with it, do it fast or else you will lose the girl you love for good”Geoffrey said and just then I thought of some thing
“Can you help me with some thing Geoffrey?”I asked.
ANDREA POV
“It’s game night tonight guys”the MC began as we all gathered around camping podium
“So who is in for a bit of game”The MC asked us all and we all yelled in agreement
I was feeling a bit embarrassed about what happened earlier, I had cried and told Jack of my true feelings some thing have never done with Brenda or Beatrice.
I stared at Jack who sat some paces beside me and I sighed softly, I looked up only to see Max talking to Geoffrey.
Seems like he doesnt have any thing to be worried about, after all am the one who liked him first, some thing I should have never done.
Feeling suffocated a bit ,I stood up only for the MC to point at me
“Would you please come up front, thanks for offering your self” he said and having no choice,I went to him
“Wow! Isn’t she beautiful, I bet guys are all over her?” The Mc said making me feel nervous
“Yes”the other students chorused
“Now that we have a pretty girl, we only need two hand some students for the game, who is in?” he asked while starring at the crowd.
“Am in!” both Max and Jack said together and while they both stood up starring at each other, I felt like dying, why did the two students have to be them and just what kind of game is this, what have I gotten myself into.
