I tapped my hand on the arm of the wooden chair with a smirk as I watched mom and dad converse in the TV. Mom was begging dad to reconsider, due to the fact that I had silently been watching him prepare for my “wedding” which was unlike me. The best punishment is saved for the last you know.
‘Devon, you of all people should know your own daughter, you know how crazy she is and yet you are doing something this expensive to her?!’
‘There is nothing Cookie can do this time, I already have her pranks neutralized. Guards and cameras are watching her every move, she can’t do anything about this, I assure you.’
‘You know, when you said marriage, I actually thought you were marrying her off to one of his sons, not he himself!’ Mom yelled upsettingly. ‘Why are you so selfish! So self-centered and greedy! Selling your almost 21 years old daughter to an old man, older than my own father!’
‘You forgot to say I’m selling off your hΓ¦rd headed psychopathically stupid daughter with the a malfunctioning brain to a man that will make us richer than we are. Our level will be ungraded. If eventually he does die, she will be part of those to gain his wealth.’
Mom laughed incredulously. ‘And you really believe that an old man with six wives, ten sons, most your age and daughters far more older than your own will sit back and allow what belongs to them be willed to a kid, right?’ She chuckled skeptically. ‘You think you are smart but you don’t have any single common sense, nothing at all.’
‘Are you talking to me?’ He asked angrily. ‘How dare you insult me!!!’
‘I will not let you treat my daughter with such disrespect! I get that she’s a little bit nutty, changes personalities unpredictably but that doesn’t mean you have the right to sell her off like that!’
‘I gained that right the moment you wore my ring and bore my last name! Until now, I’m not asking you who her father really is because I have already assumed that position so I have rights over her!!!!’ Wait, what?
‘You can’t marry her off!!!’ She scre-med in tears. ‘Leave her alone! If she was your biological daughter, you wouldn’t be treating her this way!!!’
‘Haven’t I tried for that bastard!!!’
‘It is you who is a bastard you son of a harlot!’ She scre-med and fell on the floor because of the slap dad gave her. My eyes were red as my hands were clenched into fists. I breathe in and out heavily, not his daughter, no wonder.
Mom sobbed quietly as he stared down at her, trying to hold his anger. ‘Now if you don’t want me to call your children and tell them that their useless mother broke our martial vows and came home with another man’s child, you will behave yourself and encourage your daughter towards the idea of this marriage. I have planned for this a lot and this is the little way you both can repay me. Is that clear?’ Mom only cried. ‘Is that clear?!’
She scre-med as he grabbed her hair, yanking it viciously. ‘Yes, yes.’
‘Good,’ he pushed her head roughly, causing it to bash against the floor. I inhaled and turned off the TV were I do my spy work. I m-ssaged my temple smirkingly, he laid his hands on my mother, is alright; very alright. I picked up my phone and stared at it. Change of plans.
I stood up, adjusted my angry face to a sweet smile and walked out of my room. I skipped towards mom and dad’s, the stupid guards kept their eyes on me. I knocked on the door musically and swayed myself back and forth as I waited for him. He opened the door slowly and stuck his head out. ‘Hi dad,’ I said soberly, feigning innocence and repentance.
‘What do you want?’
‘You see,’ I rolled my pigtail around my palms shyly. ‘I thought about what Leone said and Indeed it was true. You and mom, everyone have been offering me the best and I’ve been acting so immature and….and….incorrigible. You have done so much for me, shown me so much love and care and I really want to repay you. I will marry this man and get out of your hair for good.’
‘Is this a joke?’
I shook my head poutingly. ‘I’m serious,’
‘Did you guys checked her to make sure she isn’t wearing a bomb or carrying a gun?’ He asked with a little panic as he stepped back into his room. I wanted to laugh but I knew better.
‘I’m doing this for mom,’ I cut in sharply. ‘I’m tired of making her cry, I want to change for her sake.’
He walked out of the room and touched my forehead. ‘You’re not hot, maybe typhoid or you hit your head somewhere. Somebody call me the family doctor immediately….’
‘Dad, I’m fine, I promise.’
‘You are not.’ He deadpanned.
‘So me deciding to peacefully marry my grandfather to make MY mother happy is unbelievable?’ I asked with a lopsided sweet smirk. He opened his mouth to speak but shut it and stroke his chin.
‘Well, I can believe that since your mother is involved but what else do you set to gain?’
‘My new husband will sponsor my college fee, duh. Plus, mom will stop being worried and Leone won’t have to always bore me through his tranquilizing sermons. I will have peace of mind as well. I will be queen somewhere outside your zone.’
He nodded with a smile, believing my words. ‘I agree, you indeed will do such. Prove yourself and get ready for the engagement party tomorrow night, no clever pranks.’
‘I wouldn’t dare,’ I promised. I really won’t dare, for now.
NEXT DAY
I smiled at everyone who greeted me at the engagement ball, I didn’t do anything particularly crazy. Just wore a simple red gown with green heels and freaky heavy makeup. My hair was up in a messy bun, my hair which I dyed blonde. Dad didn’t exactly understand why but I have my reasons for covering my face with makeup, changing my hair and wearing a dark tan skin cloth. There is no way I will be recognised anywhere as the young gurl who wanted to marry her grandfather.
‘I’m surprise you haven’t done anything yet,’ I smiled at the person and waved my hand which held my glass of wine. It was my younger brother, Roy. ‘You are usually very unpredictable and mischievous, why haven’t you pulled a fast one on our old man?’
‘Hmm,’ I said with a shrug, sipping from my glass. ‘Maybe because I have indeed changed.’
‘I don’t believe you, that’s too good to be true.’ He said incredulously, everyone have been saying that. Am I that mischievous?
‘Well little brother,’ I took another sip. ‘Like you said, I’m unpredictable and this,’ I dropped the wineglass between his fingers. ‘Is one of my unpredictable actions.’
‘H….’
‘If you’ll excuse me,’ I smirked, pulling my dress down to reveal my cle-vage. ‘I have a fiancΓ© to sed-ce, ta!’ I cat walked out of his presence and sighed, can’t believe I’m about to do this.
I walked to the stupid old man laughing with some men his age. I wrapped my hands around his shoulders coquettishly and k-ssed his cheek. ‘Cookie?’
‘Yeah, me. I miss you.’ The other men looked at me with both amusement, disgust and doubt.
‘You do? Well of course,’ he said covering up his state of shock. ‘What would you have me do?’
‘Come with me, please?’
‘Why?’ He asked like I was taking him to get murdered. I moved my l-ips to his ear and k-ssed it, letting my hands slid into his suit sed-ctively.
‘Please baby?’
‘Ahem, alright.’ Somebody remind me to boil myself until all the germs in me get wash off. I let him go so he would turn around before taking his hand and walking ahead of him and intentionally swaying my ass. The man is too ugly, just as ugly as his sons and daughters. Back to reality, I led him to a quiet room and pushed him on the bed. I crawled into the bed sed-ctive and regretfully k-ssed him. Ew! An entire toothpaste won’t be enough to brush off his filthy saliva. My…..he can’t even k-ss.
I felt like crying with the way he was squeezing my b-obs, so disgusting. I broke the k-ss and ran my finger along his baldhead while keeping my sweet sed-ctive smile. ‘I’m sorry if I was rude to you that day, I was stunned. I honestly wasn’t expecting you but now I have taken my time to think about it, it’s better I marry you and gain freedom from my father. I will be a good wife, satisfy you just the way you like if you promise to sponsor my college fee.’
‘Anything for you,’ he said under his breath. I smiled and battered my lashes.
‘And,’ I pouted. ‘There’s this thing I wanna buy but dad won’t give me money, will you? I want to look extra nice that day.’
‘Of course, anything for you. Just forward your account details to me and it is settled.’
‘Awwwn, thank you my darling,’ I purred and k-ssed him again. I grind against him, making him mo-n as he held my hair. Stupid old man, I got off him when I could take it no more and smiled sweetly. ‘To be continued on our wedding night,’ I said with a wink and quickly got off the bed. ‘Bye boo boo.’ I blew him a k-ss and walked out of the room.
Oh my God! I’m gonna be sick!
I ran to another room, locked the door and made use of the bathroom. I threw up every single thing in my stomach, I k-ssed old l-ips! I finished throwing up and rinsed my mouth with water.
Back up plan, set.
THE D-DAY
Two weeks, that was how long our wedding preparation took, it was funny how everyone already believed that Cookie Aileen Carlisle will just sit back and wait to get wedded to a skeleton. I’m disappointed in them all. As for the gullible old fool, I manipulated his brain, k-ssed and touched him now and then to get what I want. Don’t think too fast, I didn’t have s€× with him, I’m better than that but I will shamefully admit to giving him a blowjob twice to convince him more of my seriousness. I had my entire mouth flushed after both times and I did throw up a lot. If it wasn’t for the fact that I love my single life, I would have indeed married and drain all his money.
It was the wedding day, time for the show that will not only ruin dad’s reputation, but his too. Mom won’t suffer much, hopefully. ‘Aren’t you done yet Cookie?!’ Someone shouted from the door. I smiled and c*cked my hΒ‘ps with one hand folded under my br-ast and a lΒ‘pstick in my other hand.
‘I’m just good, very good. Be out in three minutes.’
‘Alright, be fast.’
‘I surely will,’ I slurred and grinned at the lady chewing her cloth. She was a correct definitely of an obedient mad woman, one I used to always visit and take care of. She listens to everything I say, no matter how stupid it is because she thinks I’m her twin. She’s f-cking 49, blondie with dark tan skin and the same height. She didn’t have my junks but the wedding ball gown I made her wear would do the job of hiding that. ‘Now remember Carolyn, immediately you walk out of here, you are me, Cookie Aileen Carlisle. Is that okay?’
‘If I be you and you be me, rightsie?’
‘Swaysies,’ I grinned.
‘Who be better you wins game, correcto?’
‘Si,’
‘And I do what you say I do, no shenanagan, mwo?’
‘Shenanigan, lo.’ I smiled, that’s just how she speaks.
‘If I win, you buy twin sister puppy and cake?’
‘I buy twin sister big big big house,’
‘Yeeeeek!’ She squeaked clapping her hands. ‘I be you well, mistake, no.’
‘I trust you,’ I smiled keeping the lΒ‘pstick. I look a lot like her whenever I go blonde and tan, they won’t notice with the extra touch up I added. Her voice was slightly deeper than mine but with the practice I have given her, she can pull it off. ‘Stand up and go,’ she nodded, putting on a smoulder face. I wore her veil properly and opened the door. She walked out imitating my steps. I shut the door and laughed. ‘Happy wedding day.’
‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑
I stared at my TV grinningly, the church was displaying on my screen. I was watching the wedding with excitement, Carolyn was doing great. She spoke less like instructed, said the vows nonchalantly although gigglingly sometimes. The pastor declared them husband and wife, dad was smiling proudly. He removed her veil, she bent her head down slightly so no one would see her face clearly before he k-ssed her. Everybody clapped and cheered, awesome.
‘This is funny,’ I said to myself. She covered her veil back after the k-ss and did a crazy dance, not part of the plan but okay. She stayed away like I instructed, even as they took the pictures, she hid her face. Everyone was too excited to notice. Mom didn’t take any picture, just went straight to her car and drove off to everyone’s notice. I switched the camera to the reception ground and waited for them to go there for stage two.
I received a call from the telephone in my room, I picked it up with a giggle. ‘Good morning Mrs. Joseph.’
‘Good afternoon,’ I corrected with an old woman’s voice. ‘How are you?’
‘I’m fine, your ticket is ready ma.’
‘Alright, drop it at the sβ‚±0t and remember, we never met.’
‘Of course,’ I hung up. That was a backup plan. Few minutes later, mom walked into my room, bursted.
‘I had a feeling you were here,’
‘Mother, my darling,’ I said humorously.
‘Who is that? What do you think you are doing?!’
‘Teaching both men a lesson,’
‘Your father will kill you!’
‘He is not my father, I know that already mom.’
She gasped. ‘Who….’
‘I know he will come after me with a gun so I already have a backup plan,’ I pointed to my luggage. ‘I’m leaving,’
‘You can’t leave, what about me?’ She sobbed.
‘I’m not asking you why you cheated on dad, am I?’ She looked at her feet already in tears. ‘You lying to me is bad enough, I don’t want to hate you. I will contact you once I settle in, don’t tell anyone or I won’t ever forgive you.’
‘Cookie,’
‘My original plan was to send a dog wearing a dress to the wedding but I changed my mind, all of them there…’ I looked at the TV. ‘Are trapped in a reception with locked bathroom and poisoned food. The doors will shut automatically after they are all in.’ I said laughingly, poop festival.
‘Don’t do it, please.’
‘Already done.’
‘You don’t have any money, where would you go?!’
I shrugged. ‘Sugar daddy is a word,’ I said with a wink. I walked to her and gave her a long hug. ‘I love you mom, you know that, right?’
‘I know, I love you too. Please be careful and remember to ring me, okay?’
‘Cross my butt,’ I whispered. She laughed and pushed me off.
‘You better start going before they get you,’
‘Awwwn, I’ll miss the show.’ I pouted, she laughed again.
‘I’m going to be there in person. Don’t worry, I won’t eat anything and I will make sure the new bride is well taken care of.’ She winked at me playfully. I smiled and hugged her again.
I was leaving New York with a new name, new face and going off to Italy. Luckily, this a new step to liberty.
To be continued.
Book two out, what do you think?
