“Honey.. Take care of yourself and remember I love you.” Alice said hugging Samuel tightly after he had taken his breakfast.

“I love you too baby. Don’t stress yourself my darling please. Rest and eat a lot.” Samuel said k-ssing her hair.

“Thanks sweetie.” She said as they disengaged from the hug.

“I’d get going now. When did the doctor said we should come for the implantation?” He asked.

“Huh…we…oh yeah. She said I should come in two weeks time.” She stuttered nervously.

‘Sorry. I didn’t do the In vitro fertilization again. I can’t watch my secret leak out.’ She thought inwardly sadly.

“Alright. Let me know when it would be so I will go with you.” He said.

“No problem but you don’t have to stress yourself by coming with me.” She said.

“Stress again? You are my wife. Anything I do concerning you isn’t stress. Get that!” He almost yell.

“O…okay.” She said slowly.

He sighed and walked out of the house. Alice walked him to the door before returning back in,side to attend to her ringing phone… All thanks to the silence she put her phone to.

📲We need to talk. MK Restaurant by 2pm.

Cindy was still feeling embarrassed for sleeping off in Philip’s apartment. She has been avoiding him since then.

She was on her way to work. Her mind drifted again to Alice again. She saw her car the last time she visited her friend – Ellen in her hotel.

She was tempted to ask about her from the receptionist but she restrained herself.

“It’s not my problem. But did Sam knew about this? Or is she a waitress in the hotel?” She asked herself…

She picked her phone and dialed Ellen’s number using an eye to look at the road.

📲girlfriend. It’s morning. Hope all is good?

She ended the call as she faced the road fully. Her phone ring again. She picked it cheerfully. Emmanuel was calling.

They continued talking till she got to work.

She smiled as the call ended and she walked in,side graciously.

“Good morning Doctor Cindy.” She heard.

She looked at the direction and smiled.

“you sounded like a stranger.” She joked.

“Really? I needed to train my voice then.” Samuel laughed.

“You look radiant today.” he added.

“Thank you.” Cindy smiled.

“Doctor Samuel. Good morning.” A nurse greeted.

“Morning nurse Lizzy.” Samuel said warmly.

Nurse Lizzy smiled at him but eyed Cindy malevolently which Cindy saw but kept cool.

“Can I see you for some second?” Lizzy said.

“Hope there’s no problem?” He asked.

“Not at all.” lizzy said.

“Okay…I’m all ears.” Samuel said.

“No, privately.” Lizzy said.

“Hmm…I’d see you around doctor.” Cindy said looking at Samuel.

“Alright dear. We’re taking lunch together today.” He said while Cindy just nodded walking away.

“So…I’m all ears.” Samuel turned to Lizzy who was lost in staring at him.

“Congratulations miss Dammie Scott. You got the job.” Philip said to her.

“Wow! I’m glad. I’m grateful. Thank you. Thank you a lot.” She gushed happily.

“You can start next week. all other things would be sent to your mail.” He said.

“No problem sir. Thank you sir. I promise to be a good worker to you.” She said rising to her feet and bowing.

She was about to raised her head to start going when her eyes caught a picture. Philip’s phone beeped of a new message making it come on.

His wallpaper was Cindy’s picture in a native attire wearing make up too.

“You can leave.” She heard Philip said.

“Oh…yeah. Thank you.” She said and took another look at the phone again before leaving.

“First was Cindy picture in a small frame placed on his table then his wallpaper. Could it be that she’s just acting like she love my brother whereas she’s a cheat?” Dammie thought as she was walking in the hallway that leads outside.

“But where did she always find handsome and hot guy? First was the hottie at the restaurant, now this cute dude.” She thought spitefully.

“There’s a lot for me to do.” She muttered.

She braced up and finally walked out of the company.

She drove to the hospital immediately to do some medical check ups.

LUNCH TIME.

“Doctor Cindy…let’s go.” Samuel said as soon as they were out of the theatre.

“Sorry doctor…I forgot Emmanuel asked to meet me during lunch too.” Cindy said.

“You can just eat lunch with me instead.” Lizzy butt in.

She has been watching them and was secretly praying for Cindy not to have lunch with Samuel.

“Huh?” Samuel was confused.

He has never taken lunch with nurse or doctor in the hospital except Cindy and that’s because they shared something special.

He looked at Cindy but she looked away immediately their eyes met.

Lizzy was still staring at Samuel expectantly.

“I have to go now.” Cindy said slowly.

It’s obvious she doesn’t want Lizzy to dine with Samuel.

“okay dear. Be time conscious.” Samuel said.

“I will.” Cindy replied taking a look at Lizzy again before leaving.

“Doctor! Doctor! Doctor Bassey….there’s a patient here to see you.” A nurse called from behind.

‘oh thanks gracious. Better excuse to turn this lady down.’ he thought happily inwardly.

“Sorry, I have to go now.” He said as he walked to his office.

Lizzy’s face fell.

“That bitch of a doctor called Cindy. How dare she!” Lizzy said silently with much hatred towards Cindy.

“Hope you’re enjoying the food?” Emmanuel asked.

“yes sweetheart.” Cindy said.

Her mind drifted to Samuel.
She wondered if he’s truly having lunch with the nurse -Lizzy.

“Are you okay? it seems you’re in thought.” Emmanuel pointed.

“Not really…I’m f..” Her statement was cut short by her phone ringing tone.

“Ellen..” She said in her mind.

📞Girlfriend…

📲baby. I’ve looked into it. There’s no Alice Bassey as my waitress in this hotel. But when I looked more into it…the receptionist told me she’s our regular customer alongside a guy. They both have a room specialized for them in my hotel.

Cindy’s fork dropped from her hand as she heard what her friend said. Her jaw was slightly opened.

Emmanuel wondered what could have happened.

She was lost in thought.

“Babe…talk to me, you are scaring me. What is happening?” Emmanuel asked concerned.

She faced him and tried to act fine when she heard..

“This way please.” A waitress said coming to their direction.

She looked up and saw another shocking scene.

Alice and a guy were being led by a waitress to a seat that was right beside them.

Her eyes w¡dened in total shock as she just couldn’t believe what she was seeing.

Alice and George walked to the table to sit. The waitress was asking them what their order would be.

Alice was about to sit down after looking around to be sure no one identify her in the restaurant when her eyes met with Cindy.

She just stayed still. She couldn’t sit down and couldn’t stand up uprightly either. She was just there bending as she stared intently in fear at Cindy.

“Babe…what’s up?” Emmanuel asked worriedly when he noticed the scene.

“Sit down and stop being dramatic.” George said to Alice.

Cindy and Alice were still in eyes locking. Staring at each other in different thoughts.
