“You came early. Didn’t you slept in your house?” Cindy asked on their way to work in Samuel’s car.

They’ve taken their breakfast and has left the house not quite long.

“I slept at home now. Where else would I sleep if not in my house?” Samuel replied.

“But…it’s so early.” Cindy said looking at him.

“Or..” She started but was cut short by Samuel.

“Don’t even go there. Do not ask me about her.” Samuel interrupted.

“How do you know what I wanna say?” Cindy wondered aloud.

“Have you forgotten we use the same heart?” Samuel asked chuckling.

“Never.” Cindy laughed.

“On a serious note…tell me what happened….what made you leave your house this early?” She added.

“We gotta talk Cindy.” Samuel answered ignoring her question.

“Okay…go on.” She said.

“Tonight. After work.” Samuel said not looking at her.

Cindy looked at him wondering.

“What are we talking about?” She asked.

“Till then.” He answered as he steered the steering to the right to avoid a poth0le.

“Oh…are you sure all is well?” She asked worriedly.

“Yes. Very well and it’d b more well if you make it well.”

“How?” Cindy asked.

“Till tonight.” He smiled.

Cindy was relieved seeing him smiled at least.

Samuel faced the road while Cindy took out her phone from her handbag.

She saw a new text message from an unknown contact.

She read it anyways..

💬Cindy, let’s meet today during your lunch period at Sunshine Restaurant. Please, don’t let my husband know you are meeting with me.

She read it over and over again looking at Samuel who wasn’t aware of anything going on with her.

She quickly put her phone back in her bag clearing throat softly.

Samuel glanced at her and concentrated back on driving.

George was busy thinking about how to talk to Cindy or even how to get her when Dammie entered his house.

“Hi baby.”

“Welcome”

“Why aren’t you smiling? Did someone die?” She asked taking her seat beside him.

“Nothing. I’m fine. Have you wash that thing away?” He asked staring at her tummy.

“I’m just going to the hospital. Where’s the money? I didn’t see any alert now.” she said throwing into her mouth a bubble gum.

George gave her no response as he just took his phone from the sofa beside him and started to operate it.

Soon, Dammie’s phone buzzed of a new message.

She smiled satisfactorily as she checked her phone taking it out of her bag.

“You are sweet.” She said pecking his cheek.

“You look stunning..” George said taking in his lower lip.

“thank you. But I gotta go before you held me up for a naughty activity.” Dammie said rising to her full height.

George stood up too and grabbed her from behind.

“No George…you can’t..” word stuck her throat as George has lifted up her short gown and ins**ted his member into her v’gina since he was just in a boxer before.

“Gosh…you’re sweet.” He mo-ned into her ear in between the thr-st.

Dammie had no choice as she just mo-ned out loudly making him go deeper.

“Miss Dammie, but ain’t you scare of your health? The abortion you’re having is becoming more ramp-nt.” The doctor said to Dammie as she was seated in his office.

“Don’t make it feel or sound as if this is the first time you’re aborting my pregnancy for me. Your tip is high this time around.” Dammie said looking away.

“Oh..good. Yeah…you are welcome. Let’s get into work. Here in my office as usual or…”

“Here. I have to protect my dignity.” Dammie interrupted.

“Okay. Come and lay here.” The doctor gestured to the bed on a side in his office.

Dammie stood up and laid on the bed with her back while the doctor walked to the door and locked it.

LUNCH TIME

“Doctor Samuel, I wanna go somewhere so we won’t be taking lunch together.” Cindy told him.

“I’m free, you can take lunch with me.” Lizzy interrupted.

Cindy stared at her for a while before taking her leave but Samuel held her hand from behind.

“What?” Cindy asked facing him but not turning around.

“Don’t stay long.” He managed to say.

Cindy nodded and he let go of her hand. She left with the thought of what Alice wanna discuss with her in her head.

“Let’s take lunch together.” Lizzy repeated.

“Sorry…I’m not really hungry.” Samuel said putting his hands in his lab coat pockets.

“Why? Is it because I’m the one and I Doctor Cindy?” She asked.

“No. I’m not just hungry.” He replied walking passed her.

“Do you like her?” She suddenly asked.

Samuel halted and turned to look at her smiling.

“A wh0le lot.” Samuel answered wh0leheartedly.

“But…but she said you’re married.” She stuttered feeling hurt.

“Of course. Happily married.” He said and walked away leaving Lizzy dumbfounded.

“You’ll love me no matter what it takes. Try me and let’s see how it goes.” Lizzy boasted.

She swiftly turned around and bumped into Dammie.

“So…sorry miss.” She apologized but Dammie has fell to the ground.

“Miss….miss…wake up miss…” Lizzy squared beside her shaking her vigorously with much effort but she has went unconscious.

Some nurses around went to brought a stretcher and they lifted Dammie and rushed her to the emergency ward.

Lizzy went to called Doctor Samuel and another doctor since Cindy wasn’t around.

The doctors rushed to the ward and started attending to her unconscious state.

Sunshine Restaurant🏩

“Cindy…sorry I asked to meet you this afternoon. I just can’t wait anymore.” Alice said as soon as Cindy settled down.

She had been waiting for her and Cindy didn’t take long too. She had asked Cindy what she would love to take but she declined urging her to go straight to the point.

“Mrs Bassey, I would love it if we go straight into the reason why you asked to see me because I have little time to spend before going back to work.” Cindy said checking her silver tainted wristwatch.

Alice mustered all the courage in her before she could utter a word.

“I know you’d be wondering about the reason why you saw me twice in a restaurant and a hotel…” She started.

“Mrs Bassey, if it’s about that, sorry but I have no interest ’cause you own your life and you’re bound and free to live it the way it pleases you. I have no business with where I’ve saw you or not. Anyone can see anybody anywhere.”. Cindy stated.

“No Cindy. Let’s be true to ourselves. The reaction on your face at the both times shows you’re shocked to see me in such a place especially since it wasn’t with my husband.” Alice said as she looked at Cindy.

She continued since Cindy uttered nothing.

“The guy and I are just in a deal that would soon end. I don’t want you to get it wrong so you won’t tell my husband such , that’s why I’m taking my time to explain. Nothing special other than a deal. My husband knew about too…but I don’t expect you to ask him since you’re matured enough to know couples privacy is to remain in private. Samuel knew about the deal and as well as the guy, he knew. Just dont get the wrong idea that I’m having an extra marital affairs or anything.” Alice said staring into Cindy’s face as if to compelled her.

Cindy folded her hand around her body as she rested her back well on the chair she sat on staring into Alice’s eyes too as if to tell her she’s lying.

“hum…well mrs Bassey, like I said I dont have a dot of interest in what you just said. Either you’re in a deal or not is really non of my business. The reason why you are telling me is what I really do not understand…. It’s not as if I’m part of your family.” Cindy said.

“The reason I’m telling you is for you to keep shut by not telling or asking my husband anything about what you saw or know. It’s our private matter…besides, you’re close to my husband you can ask him anything, that’s also another reason of asking to meet you so you wouldn’t go astray. This is nothing but a harmless warning.” Alice said looking at Cindy.

Cindy stared back at her for some minutes before smiling making Alice wondered why she was smiling not like they’re acting a comedy or something.

She stood up taking her handbag and car key.

“Nice taking with you, Mrs Bassey.” Cindy said and smiled sweetly at Alice.

Alice couldn’t say or do anything she just stared at her as she walked out of the restaurant making her doubt her if she’d ever keep her mouth shut..

“Don’t play with fire…Cindy. heed to my warning.” Alice said silently.

Dammie flustered her eyes opened after 3hours.

Lizzy was in the ward attending to another patient when she opened her eyes. She has just been transfered from the emergency ward to the general ward where recovering patients stays.

Lizzy on sighting her moved closer to her bed holding her hand to check her pulse.

“Sorry, I bumped into you. I didn’t know you were coming.” She said.

Dammie just nodded slowly. She looked around her as if looking for something.

“Your bag…it’s here.” Lizzy said as she took her bag from the bedside and gave it to her.

“Thanks.” She muttered.

She took out her phone and saw a lot of missed calls especially from George.

She tossed it aside thinking of something better.

Suddenly she remembered that she’s in the hospital where Cindy worked.

“Gosh! I don’t want her to caught me again…what do I do. She always knew whenever I came for an abortion. Today must be an exception.” Dammie thought to herself thinking if the way out.

He mum must not hear about this, not even her brother is she’s a dead meat.

“Hmm, nurse…please what’s the name of the doctor attending to me?” She asked.

Lizzy was about to answer her when the door to the ward opened revealing Samuel and Cindy walking in with a file in their hand each.

She froze on sighting them. Cindy was not surprise again since it’s not her first or second time there for the same purpose .

They walked to her and examined her body as well as the drip attached to her hand.

They wrote down some things at interval.

“Hmm…Miss Dammie Scott…as a result of the abortion you just did as well as the fact that you fell…you lost too much of blood. Luckily we found a blood for you in our blood bank here and as been used for you.” Cindy said with a knowing smile.

“You need to spend two days here for us to be sure the bleeding has stopped. We’d also put you on medication. Nurse Lizzy here would be assigned for you for the two days you’d spend here. Kindly rest very well.” Samuel added.

“Here are your medications.” Lizzy said.

Dammie still haven’t recovered from the shock as she just stared at the two of them – Cindy and Samuel with different thoughts running through her head.

“Cindy, what are you up to?” Dammie thought evilly.
