Mrs Monica almost fell down but Pastor Walter was quick to held her.

“God…why? My only son. Despite how I serve thee…is this how you’d reward me?” Mrs Monica lamented.

Mrs Veronica sat with her to pacify her while lawyer James and pastor Walter walked some distance away from the women to have some talk.

After having lots of fun, Fred insisted on dropping Ellen home.

She had asked him about her car that she brought…
And he had told her to tell anyone outta her workers to bring it home for her.

“Thanks for the ride.” She appreciated.

“It’s my utmost pleasure dear.” Fred said.

Ellen smiled and turn to leave..

“Good night.” She said.

“Sleep well.” He answered in smiles.

Lizzy was still in thought about what she discussed with Doctor John.

As much as she wants to help him save his mother, her mind couldn’t leave Ann.

“Where would I put her? Who’s gonna look after her for me?” She questioned.

She was still tossing around in bed when her phone rang.

It was an unknown number when she checked it but she picked it anyways.

Lizzy’s head did some calculations before w¡dening her eyes after she got to know who the caller was.

📲to remind you that we’re visiting mum tomorrow. Dress well and act well too.

📞what do you mean? Not as if I’ve said yes,

She said and end the call. And almost Immediately, she got a message on her phone.

📩Sleep well, fiancee.

She scre-med and threw the phone away.

“Gosh…I’m going crazy” she said pulling the duvet over her head.

Evening

“Doctor…how’s he?” Mrs Veronica asked.

They haven’t leave the hospital.

“He’ll soon wake up.” The doc reply.

“Can we go to see him?” Lawyer James asked.

“Sure. Just make no noise.” The doc said and left.

They all entered his ward and sat down watching him. Mrs Monica held his hand and said some prayers.

After some minutes of staying beside him….he moved his fingers .

Everyone watched with great interest.

“Philip…” Mrs Monica called softly.

Philip was moving his head sideward and when he finally opened his eyes, he mentioned ‘Cindy’ making the James wonder why he called their daughter’s name.

“Cindy…” he called again.

“mum, Cindy.’ He said looking into his mum’s eyes.

Mrs Monica don’t know what to say as she just did some signs for him to stop.

“Philip….are you okay?” Mrs Veronica asked.

“I will go and call the doctor.” Pastor Walter said stepping out of the Ward.

Philip keep shut seeing mrs Veronica and her husband.

He had no idea they’re present.

“How’re you.”Lawyer James asked.

“Fine.” He muttered.

“You’re calling Cindy…hope all is well?” Mrs Veronica said.

“Yeah. You know she’s a doctor so he thought she’s the one treating him. That’s why.” mrs Monica answered.

Mrs Veronica kept quiet knowing fully well that’s not the right answer.

The doctor entered minutes later to attend to him.

THE NEXT DAY

“good morning Alice. I’m off to the company that called me for an interview.” George said.

He was standing in front of her door.

“Bye.” Alice said faintly.

He breathed out and left the house.

Alice came out of her room minutes later dressed modestly.

“Favor me today Lord.” she said straightening her skirt.

She’s also been hunting for job for some days now.

She walked out of the house after locking it only to find Dammie outside.

She decided to ignore her but Dammie stopped her from walking away by blocking her way

“What is it?”

“I don’t need to tell you who I am to George. So, it’s better you leave him for me. He’s mine and mine alone.”

“Who told you I’m dragging him with you?”

“I don’t know. Just vacate his house already. don’t you have other place to Live?”

“It’s too early in the morning please. Find something important to do.” Alice said

*it’s not your fault . don’t worry, I know how to treat people like you.” Dammie said.

Alice smiled and made to leave but Dammie held her and face her.

“I’m giving you just two weeks to vacate his life and house or else….You’ll hate yourself.” Dammie said and yanked her hand away almost making her fell.

She hissed and left.

Alice eyes were watery but she wiped the formed tears away with her palm and walked away.

“Good morning baby. I’m off to work. Take care.” Emmanuel said.

Cindy gave him no reply as she just watched him talk.

“When are we leaving this place?’ She asked.

“Today. When I’m back from work.” He answered.

“good.” She said and walked in to the bathroom.

“Love you.’ He said and left.

“gosh…I am not expecting this from Emmanuel.” Cindy said.

“This one he is acting this way…will this marriage last? Just two days and this is happening already” she sobbed.

Her mind raced to Samuel and her hope rise again. She smiled and turned on the shower.

“morning boss. Your schedules for today has been sent to your Email. I’d go to bring your coffee.” Jenny said.

“Stop.” Emmanuel said.

She turned around and faced him.

“Sir?”

Emmanuel stood up from his seat and walked to her.

“If I fire you…am I at fault?’ He asked.

“Sir…sorry sir.” She apologized.

“Sorry? Will sorry solve what you’ve caused?” he asked.

“No sir. But sorry.” She said.

“Really?”

She gave no answer.

Emmanuel chuckled and lean In to her, their l-ips almost touching.

“Let’s give it a try.” He said.

“What?” She asked.

“What you want and always ask for.” He answered.

“Huh?” Her eyes w¡dened.

Emmanuel smiled and returned to his seat leaving Jenny to daydream.

Cindy killed the engine and removed her car key.

She sat still in the car resting her back very well on the seat back rest .

She closed her eyes not knowing what to do.

Minutes later, she heard a knock on the car door by her side.

She opened her eyes and looked sideward to the direction.

She had no idea when a smile appeared on her face.

She whined down the glass.

“Is the other door not locked?” He asked.

“Yeah.” She answered nodding her head positively.

He walked to the other side of the car and entered.

“Good morning.” She greeted.

“I missed you.” He answered.

“I missed you more.” She said.

“I thought you wouldn’t come to work this week.”

“Why? Is it because I’m married?” She asked.

“Yeah.”

“It doesn’t mean anything.” She said.

He smiled..

“How do you know I’m here.” She asked.

“Simple. I just got to work. So…as I am parking, I saw your car.” He said.

“You’re still the same sweet Sam I know.” She said.

“Of course. I can’t change.” He said.

“Really?”

“Are you doubting me?” He asked.

“Not really. Just that people change.” she said

“What do you mean by that? Did someone changed to you recently?’ He asked.

Cindy quickly got a hold of herself.

“Not at all. It’s nothing.” She said.

“Okay. Let’s go start today’s work./” he said.

“Sure.” She said and they both got down from the car.
