After Cindy has left for church, Emmanuel called Jenny for a discussion in the room.

“What happened? ‘ she asked.

” I want you to start working. ” He said.

Jenny laughed like he was cracking some jokes.

” What and how do you mean? Ain’t you capable of taking care of me anymore? Just say so, loads of men are out there waiting for me to be theirs. ” Jenny said sarcastically

” I’m gonna give you the capital to start… Not on your own. ” He said.

” And I said I’m not interested. Will you force me? ” She shouted.

” But you need to do something. Cindy there is a successful doctor… She doesn’t need me to survive. In fact, I can count the time she ask me of anything that’s even if she has ever ask me of anything. I only buy her gifts she’s never pressured me for anything so I want you to be like her.,” He said.

” And I said I’m not in. Is it by force,? This is who I am, you can’t change me into someone else. That’s Cindy not Jenny. We are two different person.” She said eying him.

” Do you think she’s just anybody? Cindy as you’re looking merely at her, she’s super rich… She have houses, cars and all. Don’t you like that? ”

” I like that but I will get that through you. Must I work when you’re rich? Of course your money is mine too. ”

” Don’t mixed things up. Anything can happen. Who rely on wealthy people this days? ” He said

” Are you saying you’re dying anytime soon? ” She asked.

” I didn’t say that., Did I? ”

” Go and die if you want to. Men still exist. Billionaires are still in this world so back off! Die peacefully. ” She said and leave Emmanuel dumbfounded..

Emmanuel ruffled his head in frustration wondering why she’s like this.

CHURCH

“Now, it’s time for testimony. Testimony time!” A pastor shouted.

“The Lord has done it again.” The church echoed.

“The first person on the list is the James family.’ he said and everyone clapped happily.

Mrs James walked out of the congregation majestically. She was dressing so well and looking so much beautiful. Cindy wondered where she was seated what her mum wanna testify about.

Lawyer James was seated too…expecting what would happened. . Meanwhile, Samuel was seated in the congregation too in case of any need

“Praise the Lord.” Mrs Veronica started as she was given the microphone.

The church echoed a resounding “hallelujah”

Without smiling, Mrs Veronica started testifying.

“I appreciate the name of my God who doesn’t allow the work of devil to prevail over my life and that of my family especially my daughter. The culprit behind that’s been happening to her is now known. I praise His name because He is the …..” She continue while Philip and his family couldn’t take it anymore ….

They wondered how the James get to know and Cindy was the one that’s more confused.

Mrs Veronica didn’t mention any names but it’s very obvious she’s talking about the secret that’s been expose over Cindy’s pregnancy and who’s behind it.

After the service….

The James got into their car and Cindy went to her parents car to ask them of what’s confusing her.

“Let’s get home first, so that she won’t make a scene here.” Lawyer James said and that increased Cindy’s curiosity in knowing what’s going on. ’cause she don’t wanna believe what her mind is telling her.

Samuel made himself unknown and was following Cindy’s car.

When they get home, Cindy asked the same question.

” Philip…that silly son of our pastor is the one that got you pregnant.” Mrs Veronica said tearfully.

She acted really brave when she was testifying back in the church, but now she broke into hot tears as Lawyer James petted her.

Cindy couldn’t believe her ears. It seems as if, the world has come to an end.

She scre-med almost bringing down the wh0le building and ran out, straight to her car. Seconds later, she was driving crazily down the road.

She was shedding tears as she’s crying like a baby. Her mind was in confusion. She located her phone with her right hand and dialled Samuel’s number.

Samuel picked at the first ring…

📲Slow down …you are driving way too fast

He yelled as he also increase his speed trying to catch up with her.

📞Samuel…my pregnancy..

She sobbed

📲I know. Just stop the car right away.

📞No…let me end it all. I cant believe this is…..God!

She scre-med loudly and the phone dropped from her hand and then black out as the car was stopped abruptly.

Luckily, Samuel’s car is the one behind her car, another car would have brushed hers.

Samuel hurriedly came down and ran to her car. A woman Cindy almost ran over was even shocked that the driver is the one that blacked out

“Sorry ma’am. Are you okay?” He asked hurriedly.

“Yes…” The woman answered.

As soon as Cindy saw the woman trying to cross the road, she became scared ’cause she’s so close to the woman and she’s never run over anybody in her life, she applied the brake quickly and blacked out because of how sudden the car stopped.

Samuel carried her to his car with the help of the woman and took her to his house.

“My daughter, I hope she’s not trying to do anything stupid.” Mrs Veronica wailed.

“Don’t worry about her. Samuel is around her.” Lawyer James answered hugging his wife and petting her to stop the tears .

“How did those people knew about this?” Mrs Monica wondered aloud.

“You caused this..you should allow me to apologize then, now this.” Philip said.

Peter and Joy were just watching them. They’ve warned them in the first place anyways. Now it has happened.

“Right now at this juncture, we have to go and apologize to them.” Pastor Walter said.

“What?” Mrs Monica said.

“Yes mum, that’s the only way out. ” Philip said.

“What about the church?”

“No one will know. We’ll beg them secretly and let it end there.”

“I can’t believe your first fruit is in that lady’s womb.” Mrs Monica said.

Everyone was in state of confusion.

“Mum, we’re hungry. Should we go and eat?” Peter asked.

“You are very stupid for saying that. Don’t you see the mess we are in?” Mrs Monica said.

” Joy, let’s go and eat.” Peter said and they both left them.

” Sincerely, those two are not my biological siblings. They behave like witches.” Philip said.

” So, when should we go and beg them?” Philip asked.

Alice and George were seated together for the first time after the hospital scene..

“Now, you’ve confirmed with your mouth the pregnancy is yours, how do you wanna go about it?” She asked.

“I don’t love her anymore. I will only take the child from her and we’d nurture it together.” He said.

Although, the idea pleased Alice but she felt very bad for Dammie.

“What will be her gain?” She knew not when she asked

“I..I don’t know. We’ll cross that bridge when we get there. For now, that’s my decision. Please…” George said

“It’s fine.” Alice said

“Thank you.” George said and hugged her, surprisingly, she hugged him back.

After the hug, George made to k-ss her and amazingly, she k-ssed him too but not too long.

“Sorry…” She said and left.

Half an hour later, Cindy opened her eyes and looked around her. She found out she’s in a room…she sat up on the king sized bed she’s sleeping on and then saw Samuel seated on a couch in the room staring at her.

She looked down and tried to recalled what has happened….tears gathered in her eyes as her eyes went to her tummy and thought of the owner.

She bursted out crying like never before. Samuel just sat there watching her cry. After crying to her satisfaction, she stood to leave.

“And what are you up to?” Samuel finally asked.

“Samuel, I’m sorry okay? For not..”

He interrupted her.

“Forget about that. Let’s talk about this.”..he said

“How did you found out?” She asked.

Samuel left the couch and came to sit with her on the bed.

“What are you gonna do?” He asked obviously hurt. His voice said it all.

“Nothing. Absolutely nothing but if I lay my eyes on that son of the hell, I’d pieces him.” She cried.

Samuel shifted closer to her and made her rest on him and he pet her not to cry anymore.

“If your husband get to know…what…’

She interrupted him.

” He’s the least of my problem right now. All we shared together was just wedding, k-sses and hugs. He haven’t gain any access to my body and I can proudly say, he doesn’t know anything about my body or any part of it. So, he’s not a part of my life anymore. The worst he can do now is to divorce me which I’m equally ready.” Cindy said.

” Cindy…you shouldn’t be saying this, you know?” Samuel said.

Cindy avoided that and changed the topic.

” Tell me, how did you found out?” She asked almost at the edge of crying again

” Fred and Ellen.” Sam answered.

” How? Tell me more.” She said.

Samuel took his time to explained everything to her.

“……so, we decided to let your parents know first ’cause we knew not how you’re going to handle it.” He ended.

” Mummy was shocked to the bone when we told her. No one expect such from Philip.” He added.

” So, I’m carrying his son? That alone is giving me creeps! I can’t believe I’m carrying a monster child in me!” She cried and held on to Samuel the more making him feel somehow.

Recently, their closeness is kinda affecting him, he don’t want to do anything that would made him lose their friendsh¡p, that’s why he’s avoiding any close contact.

“Sam…” Cindy called staring right into his eyes

He stared back at her without saying a word.

“I wanna have a drink.” She said like a baby

“No. You can’t take any drink in this your condition. You’re carrying human being, you know?” He answered.

“Get me an alcoholic drink or I do something stupid.” She said.

“What’s the something stupid you wanna do? Stop being dramatic. You can’t have any drink in my house…not when I’m here.” He said.

“Let me clear my mind or I do something stupid I said!” She yelled.

” And I said you’re not having any drink in my house! The fact that you’re going through stuffs doesn’t mean you should drink and harm the innocent soul in your tummy!” He yelled back.

Cindy stared at his face as if she’s seeing him for the first time and her eyes stopped right at his l-ips…and without thinking twice, she gently, slowly placed her l-ips on his taking him surprised.

Samuel was shocked as that was the last thing he expected from her. She was busy taking in his l-ips as he was just too shock to embrace the moment.

He made to stopped her but she wasn’t ready to stop. After some minutes, she stopped and looked into his eyes

“k-ss me back.” She said sed-ctively.
