Perkins owns a car and it was totally dope. She’s pretty and really funny. Her attitude and that of Carol didn’t match since Carol is kind of a nerd.
 
She hates foul words and that’s one of the reasons she always quarrel with Perkins and also for always calling her Caroline instead of Carol. Perkins parked her car in school’s parking lot and we got down. NYU is really cool , students everywhere and it was kinda busy.
 
Perkins smiled at me and we halt at School’s cafeteria to eat. Perkins crunch on her burgers as we talked.
 
” What are you studying ?” Carol ask me.
 
” Economics.” I reply.
 
” Wow , I’m an English major and this is my second year in college.” Carol says and Perkins scoff.
 
” Wow , I’m the only freshman here then..” They Chuckle to my reproach and continued eating.
 
” Well I’m the awkward one here , I’m studying arts. Seriously it s-cks.”
 
” Why ? You’re acting ?” I ask.
 
” Yup , I’m an actress but not to be compared to Allison Cooper. She’s popular and kinda wealthy.” Perkins said.
 
” Of course , the Cooper’s are all wealthy.” Carol said.
 
” That’s what’s up. I love blogging actually and you Carol ?”
 
” Music.” She squeal and gigles.
 
” Wow…”
 
” I just wanna get laid. My boyfriend s-ck.” Perkins said.
 
” What happened ?” I ask.
 
” He’s a cheater. Infact we broke up actually. I just wanna try every new toys and i don’t ****in care.” Carol rolls her eyes and scoff.
 
” Carol what ?” I ask.
 
” She’s pathetic.” Carol reply
 
” I’m better than you dude. I’m not a liar , you keep on claiming to be a V-rgin and you’re not.” Perkins said slamming her palm on the table.
 
” Come on , Perkins..” I snap chuckling.
 
” I’m serious. Who dates a boy for two years and they don’t get ****ed. ****… Caroline is a ****in liar. I won’t be deceived by those crazy glasses you wear.” Perkins says and I laugh.
 
” My boyfriend and I plan till we get married.” Carol defends.
 
” What ? Till marriage ? **** me , this is 21st century. You’re really a…” I inquire.
 
 
” Look , not every girl have been touched , keep that in mind.” She says and scoff. Quite true . Emily was actually one before Mitch magic took everything.
 
” Caroline , I’m not a punk. You can’t shave my brows.” Perkins chuckle and i couldn’t help but laugh.
 
” Who’s your boyfriend ?” I ask.
 
” His name is Brad.” Perkins reply looking around school cafeteria.
 
” Ooh , I’ve seen him. He’s one of the hot guys in school’s music band.” Perkins wink at me and wave at this cute hot guy.
 
” Ayo, Brad .” She shouts.
 
” Perkins , what are you doing ?” Carol and I whisper.
 
” I’m asking him myself , if his so called nerdy girlfriend is a replica of Mary.” She said and wave at Brad again.
 
 
Who could believe Carol nerd has such hot boyfriend. Damn , his eyes are cute. He walks to our table and sits down.
 
” Hey girls…” He smile.
 
” Hi.” We reply.
 
” Perkins don’t do this.” Carol whisper.
 
” What’s up with freshman party ? You guys gonna play ?” Perkins ask.
 
” Sure thing , our bands the biggest.” Yikes , this Brad dude looks like a Playboy. Too good to be true. Two ****in years with such a guy. I can’t judge , cause my late sister was one.
 
” This is my friend and roommate , her name’s Gold.” Perkins introduce and I just smirk.
 
” Hey , I’m Brad.” He smiled back and give me a handshake.
 
” Nice to meet you.” I tell him.
 
He nods and smiles before darting his eyes to Carol.
 
” Hey babe , we’ll talk later.” He whispers and k-ssed her cheek before leaving.
 
” Perkins…” Carol says and huff.
 
” What ! I have dignity. I can’t just call Brad over to ask him why he hasn’t **** you yet. That’s stupid.” Perkins said drinking her coffee.
 
” First thing first , your boyfriend is super hot.” I said.
 
” Everyone’s saying it. Carol is just a crazy nerd. I don’t see reasons why you wear glasses , nothing is wrong with your eyes you’re just trying to cover up some bad tracks of yours by dressing like a nerd.” Perkins tutor and scoff.
 
” Gold , can you please talk to Perkins to leave me alone. I have a strict mother and father. I can’t be like you. You’re proud of always saying the word **** instead of make out , it’s terrible and not biblical.” Carol says as my eyes bulge out. What the **** ! Biblical ?
 
Welcome to New York.
 
” Guys it’s okay. No more arguements over unnecessary things.” I say.
 
” I’m not arguing , I just want Caroline…”
 
” Perkins , don’t call me Caroline , God…” She exhale and inhale and finally sigh. Yeah right , Carol, Caroline.
 
” We should head back home. I’ve got a lot of cleaning to do.” I drank the remaining coffee and stand up.
 
Perkins roll her eyes at Carol as we walk out of the cafe. Perkins drove us back to THE s₱0t. I arranged my supposed room and made it look better. Perkins was always lazy at cooking. She suggests we go down to THE s₱0t to eat something , I oblige and we went downstairs.
 
” Hey Max , dess**t please.” She said as max nods. We exchange glances and he smirks. Why will a cute guy work in a cafeteria.
 
Perkins drag me to a seat and we sat down. Carol walks in with her huge bag and sat down sitting her bag on the floor.
 
” What are we eating ?” She ask and grin.
 
” You’re paying your bills.” Perkins utter.
 
” Whatever , I’m not hungry anymore.” She mutter and scoff. I chuckle and seal my mouth.
 
Tania carried the dess**t and serve it on our table. I just don’t like her. She’s always staring at me each time she sees me and most times I have this feeling it’s because of Max. I pick up a fork and resume eating.
 
” What’s up with Max ?” I ask no one in particular.
 
” Do you like him ?” Perkins tease.
 
” No way. Look I barely have a thing for men. We just don’t mix.”
 
” Why ?” Carol ask
 
” Nothing , especially redheads.” I continue.
 
” Why ? You have a problem with people with red hair. They are always cute.” Carol protest.
 
” I don’t think so.” Perkins adds.
 
” They s-ck. But I really don’t care about your hair. I lay with who I wanna lay with. I have men issues too. I’ve dated….” Perkins stops talking and starts counting her fingers.
 
” Damn , can’t count.” She scoff and pick up her fork.
 
” They are boring , always cheating. I almost killed the last one because he was talking to Veronica and also slept with her. I hate her. She’s my worst competition but too popular. I’m always the boss I don’t get stuck with boys s*** , so I just lay with any dude I want.” Perkins said. I tilt my head and grin.
 
” That’s weird.” I manage to say.
 
” What about you ? Gold ?”
 
” Dated once , yeah he cheated too . I don’t really care. I just wanna get an internsh¡p and concentrate on blogging and writing.” I sigh to my speech and m-ssage my temple.
 
” Wow…” Carol mouthed. I roll my eyes at her and Chuckle.
 
Two girls walk into THE s₱0t. One has black hair and the curls of her is blue , the other pink hair. Weird brats. She lean on the counter and talk non-stop to Max. He gave the girl with the black hair a snack bag as she hands it over to the other girl with pink hair.
 
They turn to leave but stop in front of our table.
 
” Look who we have here , dirty a****le.” She cuss.
 
” Get your ass out of here or I will move it for you.” Perkins reply. Her looks was different , she’s totally angry.
 
” Oh my God.. I’m scared. I’ll will always be your worst nightmare. You keep on ****in broke niggas and I’m not your teammate. b**** you s-ck.” The brunette said shooting daggers at Perkins.
 
” Who do the **** do you think you are ? Just **** out . I don’t mix up with b****es like you.” Perkins reply and I was getting irritated.
 
” Ehh.. that’s enough..” I said.
 
” And who the **** are you ?” She ask glaring at me.
 
” I don’t need to introduce myself. Just take your b**** and get the hell outta here. The **** I hate your ranting…” I spits.
 
” Oh my God…50/10 , that’s terrible.” Carol mocks.
 
” What ?…” She exclaim and threaten to fight.
 
” Girls not in here…” A man said standing beside a door of an office.
 
” We shall see..” she voice out defeated and walk out.
 
” Sorry pop’s.” Veronica said to the man as he entered his office again. Max shake his head at us and continued working.
 
” Who the **** is that ?” I ask.
 
” Veronica Stone. Daughter to School’s chancellor. NYU chancellor actually.” Carol said.
 
” Really?”
 
” Yeah. She’s into writing too , like a blogger like you. She works and model for Millicent. One of New York’s best selling online blog and magazine.” Carol continues.
 
” She’s so mean. Is she the girl you said your last boyfriend slept with ?” I ask Perkins.
 
” Yeah and I hate her. We’re always fighting. There was a day she threatened me i will never get a good GPA in college because her father’s the chancellor.” Perkins says and scoff.
 
” Is she a bully or what ?”
 
” No one bullies me. The **** , I’m gonna beat her ass so bad.” Perkins utter and we laugh.

Later that night , I couldn’t sleep. I was busy trying to get used to School’s calendar. I stay up all night and the next thing I was thinking about is Emily and mom . I called Mom and we talk for a while.
 
I slouch out of my room and walk to the living room. I wanted to take a walk but it was kinda late. My head was filled with memories of Emily , the girl I saw few days ago that was lowered beneath the ground . I open my door and heard someone singing along side the streaming of a guitar. I walk out of my room and saw someone playing a guitar , he didn’t see me , cause his head and eyes were focused on the guitar. His door is half way open and he didn’t notice me.
 
” Max..”
 
” Oh my God..” he flinch and the guitar fell of his hand. I chuckle and giggle.
 
” Can I come in ?” I ask and he nods. So weird he’s shy now. I walk in and sat down.
 
” You’re up ? You should be sleeping.” He says picking up his guitar and he keep it aside.
 
” I couldn’t sleep.”
 
” Because you’re new to the environment ?” He asks.
 
” Not really. I wasn’t in the mood for sleep.” I reply and he chuckle.
 
” Sorry about that.” He says and look up to me.
 
” You sing perfectly well.” He blush and tilts his head. Why’s he shy all of a sudden.
 
” Thanks , I wasn’t expecting to see you tonight. It’s kinda late.” He says and bit his upper lip.
 
” Your voice got me , I just had to look for that someone. Never knew you could sing.” I can’t believe I’m beginning to flirt. Nice move.
 
” I Know you’re a better singer.”
 
” No way , I’m terrible.” I said and he laughs.
 
” Lemme hear it.” He insists.
 
” No , I can’t. My cousin always make fun of me , she says I’m the worst singer in the world , she’s kinda right.” Max laughs to my remark and I felt shy.
 
” You should do the singing tonight.” I said.
 
” No , you should sing , I really wanna hear that terrible voice.” I shake my head sideways and we end up arguing who’s gonna sing. Finally he won and I had to sing.
 
I know I’m not terrible at music cause I sing better. Max was really cool , we talked till almost dawn and I truly find him interesting. His eyes are so cute and his accent always got me. He walk me to my house and tease me about how beautiful I am. It’s natural I know I look good.
 
” Goodnight..” he says. I nod like a highschool girl and said good night too.
 
I entered the apartment and shut the door. Wherever this is going , it is worth it. Thank God he’s not redhead.
 
” Gold…”
 
” Jeez , Perkins..” I touched my chest and scoff at her looks.
 
” You said you didn’t like max.”
 
” No , I don’t , we just talked.” I say not even sure.
 
” Talked ? I saw the chemistry.” She whispers with grimace.
 
” **** you , I don’t wanna date anyone.”
 
” Yeah right. Max is perfect. And you need to see Jason , cute redhead. ” She tickled me and I fell on the sofa laughing. **** I don’t wanna hear it , not anymore.
 
” I need to sleep , we’ve got class in the morning.” Perkins wink and stride to her room.
 
How to grow your business while you stay at home
I heave a sigh of relief and hug my knee. I don’t need a boyfriend.
 
‘ But max is perfect and he’s not redhead.’ my subconscious whisper to me. I scoff and slump on the couch. I really don’t know what happened , but I think I smiled broadly before falling asleep.
