CHAPTER TEN
 
Shannon’s POV
 
“Morning,we are baking a cake today ” Alex announced as he entered the room.
 
“Why? ” I asked covering Emily who was still sleeping with a blanket.
 
“It’s gonna be a great day ‘cos Ivy is coming and she loves cake” Alex smiled..
 
I could see he was totally in love.
Well, Love isn’t for everyone.
 
“Then let’s do this” I said giving Alex an high-five.

Jasmine’s POV
 
I watched Shannon as he brought out the cake from the oven, brought out the cake equipment too and began to decorate the cake.
 
He’s so handsome and talented..
 
I continued to stare at him instead of learning how to bake a cake 😅
 
“Jasmine” Alex suddenly called behind me.
 
“Oh my God, you scared me” I slapped his shoulder and turned to go
 
“You’ve been staring at Shannon for a while now”
 
“Wh..what? Me? ” I rolled my eyes at him.
 
“I caught you doing so”
 
“I… I. i was learning pastry” There came the lie.
 
“No, you were drooling…” Alex said.
 
“Wh…What?? ” I stammered..
 
“Oh come Alex” Shannon noticed our presence. “It’s almost done” He said.
 
“Really? ” Alex exclaimed taking one more glance at me before entering the kitchen.

Shannon’s POV
 
“She loves pink and white” Alex said and brought out a spatula.
 
“Alright”
 
“Jasmine was staring at you a while ago” Alex told me.
 
“Really? I didn’t know” I said receieving the spatula and giving the cake a beautiful design.
 
“What if my sister likes you? ” Alex said.
 
“What?? ” Design goes wrong! and I spilled a pink colour mistakenly on a white.
 
“I think so, I caught her drooling over you a while ago”
 
I chuckled and said “You said it yourself too, Jasmine can’t like me”
 
“I know I said so but I’m not her, I mean we aren’t sharing the same body nor heart besides girls can be trickish at times” Alex said.
 
“Done! “I announced raising the pink and white cake making him change subject.
 
“Whao!!”

“Hello Jennie” I said into the phone.
 
“Jas. would you call me back later in the evening,I’m very busy..there are so many deliveries”
 
“Oh, I wanted to come over..you know, kill boredom with you.Dad and mom travelled, Alex is with his girlfriend and I’m as bored as nothing…I hate saturdays!” I told her.
 
“I’m so sorry Jasmine…try to watch a movie or go to a cinema” She said.
 
“It’s would look awkward you know, most people go to cinema in pairs, I mean with their lovers,I’m bored even watching a movie makes me more bored” I complained.
 
“What about the handsome guy that lives with you,Mmm what’s his name again? ”
 
“Shannon”
 
“Go to him”
 
“Noo”
 
“An introduction won’t hurt at least.. You see what you’re missing, I know you’ve been rude to him from the very start now it’s hærd for you to get along with him”
 
Uh? She could easily tell.
 
“Jennie get your butt here now or we’ll lose many customers” I heard her mother’s voice underneath.
 
“Bye, talk to you later ” She said before disconnecting the call.

I’ve been rude to him right from the day he came to our house.. It’s hærd now to get along with him.
 
I sighed..
 
Then walked to my wardrobe,pick one of my favourite crop top and a black jean.
 
No doubt, if a guy sees me now,he’s definitely going to take a second look or even a third one…I applied light make over and I loosen the hair I’ve been packing for days.. .. I sighed again before leaving my room.

“Looks like I’m interrupting something” I said to Alex and Ivy… They were k-ssing!
 
They separated quickly and I gave a small laugh.
 
“Hi” I said to Ivy..
 
I’ve never done that, I’ve always been giving her headache.
 
“Your sister… ”
 
“Yeah,she has kinda changed” I heard Alex telling her.
 
* I got to the front of Shannon’s door, I made a silent prayer before knocking on the door and Emily opened it.
 
“Sis Jasmine! ” She hollered making Shannon look up to me.
 
“Hi Emily you’ve been indoor all day” I said.
 
“Yup,I’ve been playing a game on Kuya’s phone” She said showing me a cell-phone..
 
“Hi Jasmine, what do you want? ”
 
“Hi” I managed to say. “Can I come in? ”
 
“You are already in” He said.
 
“Oh” I smiled at my foolishness.
 
He barely looked at me though.
 
“Are you busy? ” I asked.
 
“What you’ve got to say would determine whether I am” Shannon said.
 
“Well, I was thinking.. Mmmn,Alex the one you speak to everyday is with his girlfriend, I have never been so bored my entire life, I.. ” I stammered, not completing a sentence before starting another.
 
“Would you stop beating around the bush Jasmine? ” He asked.
 
I cleared my throat and tried to build up courage..
 
“Err, can we be friends? ” I finally asked. Emily turned to me..
 
“Really?? ” He gave me a mocking face.
