Jason step out of the room and dialed his accomplise’s number.
Almost immediately his accomplise picked up.
“Hey, how is it going? Have you killed him?” Jason asked.
“No, things didn’t go as planned and I was almost expose” he pause. “What about you, have you killed her?”
“No”
“Why?!. You have to kill her, with her alive our plans will be ruined”
“No. I won’t kill her, killing Eva was never part of the plan” Jason said.
“Yeah, it wasn’t part of the plan, but now it is. Or don’t you want to get your revenge on Fred?”
“Yes I want to get my revenge but I’m not gonna do that by killing Eva. She’s not my enemy, Fred is”
His accomplise laughed sarcastically.
“Oh, do you think she still consider you her friend? After you try to rape her and threatened to kill her, do you think she’ll still consider her friend?”
“I didn’t want to rape her, you suggested I get her pregnant so that she could leave Fred and come to me”
“Get her pregnant in a hospital?”
Jason swallows and clenched his jaw angrily.
“But it doesn’t mean I’ll kill her, she’s my first love after all, do you think I can kill her and leave myself to live in guilt all my life? Killing Eva wasn’t part of the plan and it never will be”
“Well, she already believe you want to kill her, so why not just do it”
“I was only threatening her because I want her to leave Fred”
“Well, it’s too late to regret. Just go in there and do the needful and besides that building will burn down soon, so wether you kill her or not, you all will still die. I just wanted to give you a chance to get your revenge before your death, but since you don’t want it, I won’t force you”
“If killing Eva is the only way I can get my revenge, then I don’t want to work with you anymore. And it’s not too late, I’ll go in there and explain everything to Eva, I’ll let her know who the real enemy is”
“Jason! Don’t even think of exposing me or you’ll be making a big mistake!”
“You left me no choice. I’ll get my revenge on Fred, but I won’t do that by hurting Eva” then Jason angrily hangs up.
*I’ll save you eva, and I’ll make you love me* he thought to himself.

Meanwhile, while Jason was making his call outside, Aubrey and Eva are planning a way to escape.
“Bree, what are we going to do now?” Eva asked Aubrey.
“We can’t escape, Jason will surely catch us if we try”
“So what are we gonna do. We can’t sit here and wait for our doom”
“Yes, you are right” Aubrey sighs, her eyes move around as if she’s looking for something, then her gaze lands on it and she grins widely. “Eva?”
“Yeah?”
Aubrey gestures to the plate of fruits laying on top the small table in front of the bed.
Eva tilts her head and stares at her in confusion.
“Check it, you’ll see a knife, bring it to me”
Eva nods and rushes to the table, she sees a small knife, she picks it and rushes back to Aubrey.
She frowns as she stares at the knife.
“What do you want to do with it?” She asks Aubrey.
“Since it has come to this, we’re gonna kill him”
Eva’s eyes grows wide and she gasp loudly.
“Kill him?”
“Yes, it’s our only chance of survival”
“No, it’s not”
“It is. If we don’t kill him, he’s gonna kill us”
“We can find another way to escape”
“Which other way?”
“I don’t know, but we can think of something else”
“I can’t think of something else, this is the only way I know. Now here’s the plan, you’ll distract Jason by keeping him talking. I sneak behind him and stab him with this knife, then we’ll make a run for it”
Eva cringe.
“But Bree…..I can’t do it, he was still my friend after all. We can talk to him and make him understand”
“Make him understand what? Do you think Jason will listen to you?”
“but…..”
Just then they heard footsteps coming towards the room.
“No buts eva, this is the only way” she said.
The door open and Jason walks in.

He takes slow predatory steps towards me, he narrows his eyes down at me as I step back.
My back meets the wall and he stands in front of me.
I take a peek at Bree, she nods and gives me an encouraging thumbs up.
“Eva, I once told you that if you leave Fred and come with me I’ll forget all my resentment. Though I fell in love with another girl and Fred killed her, but I have never stop thinking about you”
I see Aubrey coming up behind him sneakily, I shake my head and close my eyes in fear.
I can’t watch this, I’ll be a murderer after this…
Though I didn’t stab him, but this memory will haunt me forever.
I don’t know if I’m too soft hearted.
“Eva, open your eyes I’m not gonna hurt you” he pries my eyes open. “Just come wi… ”
That was when Aubrey stabs him on his neck, the point between his neck and shoulder.
Blood sprees out and splash on my face since I’m standing right in front of him.
He looks at me with wide eyes, as if he couldn’t believe what just happened.
He quickly pulls out the knife but he can’t do anything about the blood, blood keeps pouring out in large gulps.
He smiles at me and tuck a strand of hair behind my ear.
“I’m not gonna blame you, I think I deserve this” he falls on his knees. “Leave, you two should leave before it’s too late”
I fall on my knees too and holds his hands in mine.
I feel tears running down my face, even though Jason was a bad guy he doesn’t deserve this.
“Jason, I’m sorry. I’m so, sorry, honestly”
He nods.
“I’m sorry too, but I’m not your real enemy” then I hear a gunshot from nowhere and Jason push forward and fall on me.
He grunts in pain and blood drops from his mouth.
“Jason, I’m sorry” I raised my head and see Fred and Grayson, Grayson is pointing his gun at Jason with an evil glint in his eyes. Fred rushes towards me.
“Jason, I’m so sorry”
“Don’t be, but… I’m.. not the real.. enemy”
I frown.
I see his eyes starts closing as he coughs out more blood.
“What do you mean?”
He pulls my ear down and leans forward as if he wants to whisper something in my ear.
“The real… Enemy is… he is… Closer to you more…” He doesn’t finish his words and starts coughing non-stop.
“Jason, talk to me. Who is it?” I shake him.
But before he could speak I hear another gunshot and his body goes limp in my arms.
Fred comes to my side and pulls me away from him.
“Jason!!”
“Come on, let’s go”
“Jason, who is it? Talk to me” I scre-m.
Grayson shoots him again as if to be sure he’s dead.
“Stop shooting!!” I yelled at him.
He smirks and ignores me, I narrow my eyes.
Grayson is behaving strange. He turns to Fred.
“Boss, the building is gonna burn soon, let’s leave immediately”
I frown. How did he know that?.
“Eva come on, let’s leave” Fred told me.
“But Jason’s body”
“There’s no time for that, let’s go”
We hear a loud blast, like an explosive? Or bomb? I can’t tell, but the sound left my ear ringing.
Fred swoops me in his arms and starts running towards the main door.
As soon as we made it outside, we haven’t even made it to a safe distance, before another blast was heard.
Fred jumps with me still in his arms and we lands at a distance, I can say we land in a safe distance.
I turn and see the building on fire.
In tears I watch the fire getting bigger and bigger, I turn and see Grayson smirking as he watches the fire with delight.
His reaction left me with many unanswered questions.
What was Jason trying to tell me?
Why is Grayson behaving strangely?
Who is Fred’s enemy and who is his friend?
How did my life come to this? Is this the end of all our troubles?
With all these questions, I come to a conclusion.
I’m too soft…. I will make myself stronger and fight for myself…. I’m tired of being weak.
I watch as the building turned ashes with Jason’s body in,side.

Is this the end? I don’t think so, at least we have to know who Fred’s real enemy is and what is his motive…..
