Damian stepped away from me and I was faced with two angry looking girls. One seemed very familiar… Ah…yes, I remember now. The red vixen. I was not really a fan of hers.
Then the other girl had red curly hair and glittering been eyes. I could see the resemblance between she and dann, so I don’t need a soothsayer to confirm that she’s Danny’s sister.
Say something! My brain reminded me.
“Hey girls!” It seemed like we came in at the wrong time. Those girls looked like they might tear somebody into pieces.
They ignored me, instead they turned to regard each other hatefully.
“You’re lucky we got interrupted ape.” The redhead said maliciously to red vixen, who hissed loudly.
“I would have decorated your face with the weal of my palms.”
“Loser.”
“Cry baby. I beat your sorry ass, just admit it.”
“Listen honey, I won’t waste my time on a nostalgic teenager who is feeling homesick. Got it?”
“Yeah, and I won’t waste my time on a brainless sugar mummy!”
Geez, this girls are very mean.
“Danny, I’m leaving, since it’s obvious that you invited me here, so that your sister could insult me.”
She turned and began to walk out of the house furiously. Her heels were very high and intimidating, I wonder how she was able to walk properly in them.
Danny rushed after her. My l-ips involuntarily lifted in disdain. I guess she’s someone pretty important to him, that’s why he’s running after her.
I turned back to look at Danny’s sister. Damian was trying to hug her from behind, she smacked his arm.
“Ouch babe,,that was savage.” He said, grinning ruefully.
“Don’t touch me. Introduce our visitor.” She eyed me and I smiled at her
“Kelly meet kori, Danny’s younger sister. Kori meet Kelly. “He introduced.
“Nice meeting you.” She said frowning, indicating that she didn’t mean what she said.
“Nice to meet you too.”
“Why is she here?” Kori turned to Damian. He scratched his head.
“Erh…she’ll be signed up with BRACT RECORDS.”
“What?!” Kori and I shouted at once, then turned to regard each other.
When did I agree to be sign up with bract records? Was it yesterday when I was drunk?
“Danny don’t just sign up random people into his record.” Kori moved closer to me. I fidgeted slightly. There was something this girl possesed that I admired.
The way she carried herself with confidence, the way she held her head up high, her nose almost sticking out in the air.
“So, if danny should want to sign you up, that means you must be very good, right?” She now stood directly in front of me.
There was nowhere else for me to look at, so I lifted my face to stare into hers.
“I guess so.” I replied coolly.
“Sing.” She commanded. I frowned.
This girl was really bossy, and I don’t like bossy people.
“I only sing when I’m being nicely asked.” I smiled sweetly at her.
She scoffed, her eyes narrowed into slits.
“Ladies…” Damian intervened. He had been watching the wh0le scene with amusement. ” ..you girls really need to get along well. Kory, you should be nice to Kelly, as you’ll be seeing her more often.”
“I’m not good at being nice, and you know that.” She hissed out, still glaring at me.
Somehow I found the courage to maintain eye contact with her, she was the first person to back down. That alone sent this exhilarating feeling of triumph through me.
“You should ask her politely. And besides, you should believe me when I say that she’s really good.” He finally succeeded in sneaking up behind her and hugged her from behind.
“Hmmm…” He sniffed her hair.
I blushed slightly. Seems like this two were a couple.
“Your hair smells amazing…” He whispered into her ear.
“Do you want to get your eyes clawed out?”
“Uhm…no?”
“Good, now get those filthy hands away from me.”
I nearly laughed at the look on his face.
Danny soon came back, his handsome face twisted in a frown. His frown deepened, when he saw me. I blushed. He still manages to look handsome even when he’s angry.
“Kori, you were too harsh on April.” He grumbled, scratching his nose.
“The more reason you should ditch her.”
“That’s my business kori, and you should mind yours.”
Damian moved quickly to the kitchen. Danny turned to glare at me, I winced.
“And you…”
“It’s Kelly.” I reminded him. He waved his hands, like as though he was waving off my name.
“Whatever it is, I’m sure Damian has told you about our deal?” He put his into his pockets. I nodded, smiling lightly.
“Good, what do you have to say about it?”
Of course I’ll sign the contract. Is this not what I’ve always wanted? I also hope to record a song with danny…
“Nothing, I’ll sign it.”
“Alright, tomorrow you’ll sign the doc-ments.”
“Tomorrow yeah…” Our eyes locked briefly. I looked away, my heart hammering in my chest.
Why can’t I just remember anything?
Seems like I did something horrible to him.
“Danny, why won’t she sing for me?” Kori asked pouting.
“How do you mean?”
“She refused to sing for me… Saying I should ask nicely.”
“Kori, I’m tired of your whining. Why don’t you just ask her nicely?”
“But I don’t do nice. It’s boring.”
Damian soon appeared from the kitchen with a plate heaped with pasta.
“Hey Kelly, come over here and join me!” He called out, his mouth stuffed with pasta. I laughed.
You need to see the contents of his plate, it was very enormous
“No thank you. You go ahead and slurp it all by yourself.” I said. E shrugged.
“Okay, what about you kori?”
“I’d rather jump into a pit filled with poop than eat with you. Piggo!”
She stood up and stretched her sparse limbs. I watched every movement she made, fascinated.
She looked at me and scowled when she saw me staring.
Seriously does this girl ever smile at all? It’s either she’s scowling or smirking…😏😒
“I don’t like the way you look at me, it’s creepy.” She told me without a smile.
I remained silent, she scoffed loudly.
“You’re so dull Kelly. I don’t look like dull people, so…” She picked up her phone and left the sitting room.
I was left alone with danny who was operating his phone, and Damian who was stuffing his guts with food.
I was thinking of a way to indicate that I want to leave, but I couldn’t think up any right word.
So I cleared my throat loudly and ran my hands through my hair.
He glanced briefly at me, then turned back to his phone.
“Damian is taking you home. You wait till he’s done eating.” He didn’t even spare me a glance as he said that.
“Great.” I muttered under my breath.
Just then, my phone chose that odd moment to ring.😫😫
I felt danny glance at me. I could hear Damian trying to stiffle a laugh but he failed miserably. He cracked up in laughter and I feared that he might choke on his food.
I gritted my teeth embarrassment and dug out my phone from my pockets. My eyes w¡dened when I saw the caller ID.
It was Jenny.
I connected the call.
“Hey” I said.
“Kelly, where are you?”
“Erm…I’m at a friend’s place…” From my peripheral vision, I saw Danny smiled slightly and shake his head.
“Friend’s house? You don’t have any friend.”
That one stung me. Jenny knows that she’s the only friend I have.
“I made a new one, after you ditched me.” I said Annoyed.
“Look I’m sorry about how I behaved earlier today…I was simply…shocked…”
I didn’t say anything. I knew she was lying.
“Look, I need to see you. We need to talk, I want to apologize.”
“Okay, I’ll be home soon ”
I disconnected the call, I felt a little relieved.
Things would return to Normal again.
I glanced at my phone thoughtfully for a while, maybe I should change my ring tone… Or maybe not.
I loved that ring tone. I won’t change it, and I don’t care if people laugh at it or not.
When I looked up, danny was looking at me. I stared back at him too, searching his face for any signs of emotion. It was blank.
“Hey, make sure that before tomorrow, you must have thought up a nice cool stage name. If you must be signed into my record,your stage name must be standard, got it?” His voice was grave and serious.
I slowly nodded.
“Kelly is cool, right?” I said too, in my serious voice.
“No, something like Kay Ley….. How does that sound?”
“Lame.” I said slowly.
Damian laughed from the dining room.
“Whatever…” Danny sighed in exasperation. ” you find a cool stage name, And your training commences tomorrow. ”
I nodded again.
“Do you have any other special skills apart from singing?” He asked again.
“I can cook tasty meals.” I smiled, showing off my teeth’s.
He slapped his forehead in despair.
“I don’t mean…whatever. Can you dance?”
I shook my head slowly.
“Can you twerk?”
My eyes w¡dened.
“Uhmm…I remember now… I can dance a little…”
He rolled his eyes.
“Ugh fine! Everything will be settled tomorrow. ” he stood up and looked at me for while.
Then he turned and walked out of the sitting room.
Damian soon walked into the sitting room, rubbing his mouth.
“How do you eat all that food and you still manage to look this …fit..?” I asked in admiration.
“Oh…it’s a secret.” He winked at me and I laughed.
“So you can cook?” He asked. I nodded, smiling quite shly.
“Wow, I hope you cook for me one of this days… Let’s go..”
We walked outside,to the garage. We entered a small sports car and he ignited the engine and we drove out of the compound.
“So I’ll be in charge of your training.” My heart fell a little at those words. I had hoped that it would be danny that would coach me.
“Cool.” I said without meaning it
“You’ll start online classes next week.”
I looked at him, surprised.
“You mean I won’t go back to Riverdale?”
“Yes, unless you want to go back…’
I shook my head. I couldn’t bear to go back, not after what happened today. I’m sure the video is already circulating in their group chat by now.
” I wonder how you managed to get on kori’s good side.”
I frowned.
“What do you mean good side? She said I’m boring, she doesn’t like
Boring people, so she definitely don’t like me,.”
I don’t think I like her too, she was too bossy and very rude.
“You’re the first person that I know, that she hasn’t sassed. How did you manage to escape her lashing tongue?”
I shrugged my shoulders.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.’
” you already charmed her. I see a strong bond forming between you two.” He leaned over and patted my cheeks.
“I don’t think so.” I answered gruffly. I blushed at his touch.
“Your checks are always pink…it’s pretty…” He gave me this smile that melted my heart.
I blushed hærd, and dipped my head down a little.
“Thanks…”
This is crazy…
Kelly, your number two idol thinks your cheeks are pretty… This has got to be a dream.
“Do you have siblings?” He asked.
“Yeah, an annoying elder sister.”
“Whoa, I’d like to see her…she must really be annoying…”
His phone rang loudly, interrupting us.
While he answered the call, my mind fleeted to what jenny might want to say.
Maybe I should give her silent treatment for a week as punishment… Or maybe I’ll make her buy me lunch for a month.
I felt Damian’s gaze on me, I turned to look at him. His eyes were dark with an expression that I couldn’t place my hands on.
“What?” I asked.
“Can I k-ss you…?”
My heart stop beating….

The atmosphere thickened with this awkwardness as we stared into each other’s face.
“Watch the road!!” I cried in alarm when I saw that our car had deviated from our lane and was now cruising on the opposite lane.
He turned and quickly swerved the car back to our own lane.
I breathed out in relief for that break.
“Do you think kori would agree to k-ss me if I should tell her that?” He asked after a few moments of awkward silence.
“What?” I asked, as I turned sharply to look at him.
“I mean, how should I tell kori that I’d like to k-ss her?”
My heart dropped to my stomach.
He wants to k-ss kori…why did I think he wanted to k-ss me?
Why am I feeling this pang of envy?
I cleared my throat loudly.
“Don’t tell her anything… Just k-ss her. You know…surprise k-ss…” I blushed when I said that. Even though I was a novice in k-ssing and rom-nce stuffs.
“Hmnn, so do you like surprise k-sses?” He gave me this smile that sent butterflies twirling around in my stomach.
I looked away.
“I think s…so.” I stammered. I couldn’t bear to tell him that I had not had my first k-ss yet.
“You think so? It’s either a yes or a no, so do you like surprise k-sses?”
“I don’t know if I’ll like it…I…” I couldn’t finish the sentence, it was to embarrassing.
“Oh.” He said with so much understanding. It went a long way to ease off my awkwardness.
He asked for my home address, I told him.
While the ride lasted, we chatted about minor things. We soon reached our small, but comfy bungalow, he parked the car in front of the house.
“Your house is nice.”
“thanks.” I knew he meant it.
The door opened and Amber came outside to squint at the car.
I saw Damian’s jaw drop.
“Is that…your…sister?” He whispered.
I sighed loudly.
“Yeah.”
He quickly got out of the car. I followed suit.
“Kelly.” Amber said excitedly to me, while smiling uneasily at Damian.
“Hi pretty…what’s your name?” He asked giving my sister this flirty smile.
I covered my face with my palms. I didn’t know I had been dealing with a flirt the wh0le time.
“Amber. Who are you.”
“Damian.” He took her hands and k-ssed it. My sister giggled like a hyena, blushing slightly and looking amused.
“He’s dray god.” I added proudly.
He turned to scowl at me.
“Dray god!!” She nearly scre-med. I shushed her.
“Kelly, you promised.” He whined almost pathetically.
“Don’t worry, she won’t tell anybody.” I winked conspiratorially at my sister.
“OMG Kelly, we are getting pretty famous now!” She shrieked, still unable to contain her excitement.
“Just wait till I tell you that I’m going to be signed into BRACT RECORDS tomorrow… Opps, I already have.” I put a finger to my l-ips.
“BRACT RECORDS!! Are you crazy!! You must be joking!” She scre-med and engulfed me in a tight bear hug.
I was surprised. Amber rarely showed any emotions, this shows that she must be really excited and happy.
“Ugh…sister… Can you please..loosen your hold… I’m choking here…” I gasped out as she threatened to constrict me.
She pulled away, still smiling broadly.
“Sorry, I’m just so excited.”
Damian cleared his throat loudly.
“That was very touching… Uhm…do I get a hug too?” He winked at Amber.
“She flipped her hair coyly and bit down on her l-ips.
“Sure…if you want one.. ” she purred, flirting.
My jaws dropped when she actually hugged him. Their hug lasted longer than usual, for about ten seconds.
I cleared my throat loudly, they sprang apart.
“Amber, you’re suppose to have a boyfriend.” I reminded her, having this silly feeling in my gut that she, hugging Damian was equivalent to cheating on Derek.
“And you Damian, you’re supposed to be finding a way to tell kori you want to k-ss her.’
” yeah that’s right. ” she said breathlessly.
“But I don’t regret hugging you…” He ran his hands through his messy hair, making it look more messy, giving him this godlike stance and making him look incredibly s€×y.
“Ahem..” I cleared my throat, breaking the tension that had started to build up.
“So…mentor? You’ll be my mentor?”
“Yeah, your training starts tomorrow.”
The door flew open and Jenny came out. Her eyes w¡dened when she saw Damian.
“Hey Kelly.” She said, her eyes still glued to him.
He winked slightly at her. She smiled and looked away.
Seriously?😒 he flirts with every girl he sees?
“So girls,see you around some other time. I’ll be leaving.” He glanced at his watch
“Bye dray-gee.” My sister purred, slyly.
“Dray-Gee? I like the sound of that. I would k-ss you right now, but you already have a boyfriend.”
I coughed loudly.
“Aww.. That’s so sad. Maybe in my next world, you’ll be my first boyfriend.. ”
Whoa, I never knew my sister was this good in flirting. No wonder she never last long in any relationsh¡p.
I dragged Damian away from Amber and pushed him to his car.
“Hey easy kel.” He said laughing.
“Kel?”
“Short for Kelly… Don’t you like it?” He stretched out his hands towards my face, I stood still, his hands brushed my cheeks.
I became disoriented at his touch.
“Huh? What? …oh right… I like it…” I smiled nervously
“Good. A chauffeur will come pick you up tomorrow by 10.”
“Cool.” He got into the car, and gave me a little salute with his index finger and then drove off.
“Wow! That guy is so soo cool.” Amber said excitedly behind me, I smirked.
“Yeah, whatever.”
“Who is he?” That was when I remembered that Jenny was around. “And why is a chauffeur coming to pick you up by 10, tomorrow?”
“Come.” I took her hands and smiled, as I led her into the house.
“Let’s go talk.”

The atmosphere around us felt blissful, everyone was very happy. Even creamy was happy. He refused to get off my body, I kept rubbing my hands through his trimmed milky furs and sighed contentedly.
Amber and Jenny were talking excitedly. Jenny had apologized earlier on about her behavior, I was so excited, I forgave her.
“You wouldn’t believe that guy is dray god” Amber said conspiratorily to Jenny
“Gosh!! You mean gray god was here!!”
“But don’t tell anybody.’ I said smiling.
“Are you crazy?! What do you mean don’t tell anyon” she stood up and began to sign one of dray god’s song.
“No seriously, don’t tell anyone. You know he has this anonymous personality.” I told jenny admonishing. Her excitement lessened a bit, but that didn’t wipe off the smile on her face.
Jenny’s phone rang loudly, she connected the call.
“Hello…yes…OK mom.” She ended the call
“Sorry guys, but I’ll have to leave now. My mom’s is getting worried about me.” She picked up her little bag that she had come with.
“Alright, I’ll see you tomorrow.” We both walked outside, it was almost dark.
“Uhm Kelly?” She asked nervously.
“Yeah?”
“We’re cool now …right?”
I laughed.
“Yes Jenny. We are cool.” I hugged her. She seemed taken aback by my action. She hugged me back too.
“So…good luck…with the signing in tomorrow…”
“Thanks….”
We chatted until she boarded a cab home.
I went back home.

Immediately I entered the room, Amber’s phone rang shrilly.
She picked up the phone and peered at the screen.
I smiled and flopped down to the bed.
“Hello…” She drawled out, admiring her nails.
Her expression suddenly changed and she sat up immediately.
“What?…” Her voice quivered. “No!…you’re drunk…you’re crazy…”
I sat up quickly, looking at her worriedly.
Her eyes were filled with fear
“No…” She threw her phone away, it bounced on the wall and crashed to the floor.
“Amber…what’s wrong?” She was breathing heavily and scratched her hair quite violently.
“It’s Dominic.” She said through clenched teeth.
An unsavory feeling rose up my gut.
“Dominic? I thought you broke up with him?” I said soothingly. She already looked agitated.
“He says he wants us back together…”
I hissed loudly.
Dominic, Amber’s ex boyfriend was the most unpleasant person I had ever encountered. His hygiene was terrible,, his temper was very volatile.
Creamy snuggled up to me. It seemed to have heard Dominic’s name and became afraid.
Dominic was always cruel to the dog, he kicked, butted, and yelled at the dog whenever he came over.
“Didn’t you break up with him?”
“I did..”
“Then why…?”
“He’s drunk…he’s f-cking drunk!!”
“Relax Amber…calm your nerves…” I was already getting suspicious. Amber had refused to tell me the details of their break up, I had a feeling that they didn’t end it on good terms.
“Should I call Derek?” I asked hopefully. She shook her head vigorously.
That only confirmed my suspicion.
“okay, but does he know about Dominic?”
“No, I didn’t tell him..” She had calmed down a little.
“I think you should tell him about Dominic, he’ll understand..”
“No, I can’t tell him now..” I patted her shoulders softly. My sister was always the strong one, she never got shaken up easily. But here she was, disoriented by just one phone call. My suspicion heightened.
“But you still have to tell him.” I persisted.
“I’ll try.” She smiled. She seemed to have gotten a grip on herself now.
There was a knock on the door, and mom poked her smiling face into our room.
“Kelly, you should be sleeping now. It’s almost 11pm. You have a great day tomorrow.” She said, coming into the room. Mom had been very thrilled when I told her about the deal.
“I know mom, I’m too excited to sleep.”
“Why don’t Amber read you a bedtime story?”
Amber snorted loudly and I made a face.
Mom laughed.
“Goodnight sweeties.”
“Goodnight mom!” We chorused and stood up to give her a k-ss in her cheek.

◀NEXT DAY▶
The sun ray filtered through the blind, into the room. I gro-ned and covered my face with the pillow. I felt the bedspread being roughly yanked away from me.
“Rise and shine!!” Amber yelled directly into my ears.
“A..mber…s..top…” I said slowly, opening my eyes.
“Kelly, the chauffeur would be here to pick you up soon. You better get ready.”
I signed sighed loudly and climbed out of the bed.
I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth, before moving to the kitchen.
Mom had already made pancakes and waffles. I hastily digged into the sumptuous meal.
I had my bath and wore a milk coloured flay gown. I let down my hair after carefully brushing it.
I refused Amber’s offer to make me up. I settled for lip gloss only.
The chauffeur soon arrived.
“Bye mom, bye Amber…” Creamy ran out of the house, barking loudly. I laughed as I picked it up.
“…oh and bye creamy…” I rubbed his head. He whined sadly.
“Aww, you want to come along?” I cooed to the dog. It gave a little happy bark and I smiled. I then decided to take him with me.
“Let’s go then…” I waved to my mom and Amber and then clambered into the car.
The drive was comfortable and relaxing.
My heart started beating in anticipation when we began to near the house. I’d see Danny again…
I got out of the car, and carried creamy on my arm.
“Behave well.” I said. It barked again.
I pressed the door bell, a maid opened the door and collected my little purse for me.
I smiled and thanked her.
“Mr Williams is in the dining room.” She said with a bow. I nodded and thanked her again.
I wondered why danny would still be doing in the dining table, it was almost half past ten.
I moved with shaky feet to the dining room.
I saw danny and you can guess who.. Damian relaxing in the dining table.
Damian looked up when I came in.
“Hey… Come here.. ” he smiled. Danny also looked up. I waved shyly.
“Good morning.”
Creamy barked loudly. I shushed him.
I moved to Damian. He k-ssed my hands, I rolled my eyes. Flirt!!
“Have you gotten a cool stage name?” That was from danny.
“C’mon man, she just got here. Give her some breathing space ”
I realized that I had not even thought of Any stage name.
“Cute doggie…. You’re so cute…” He made to touch creamy head, but the dog bared out his teeth and he withdrew, laughing nervously.
“I’m not a huge fan of dogs.”
“Yeah, me too.” Danny ch¡pped in. I blinked. I never remembered talking to him. I shrugged it off.
“Sit. I need to talk to you.” Damian pulled out a chair for me, I sat down. He pulled the chair closer to himself.
“About that your surprise k-ss…” He said quietly, as though he didn’t want danny to hear.
“What about it?” I whispered back, amused.
“I tried it yesterday. ” he glared at me. I nearly laughed.
“Well?” I prompted.
“It didn’t work, kori wasn’t impressed. She was very mad at me! I can’t even talk to her…”
“Awww, sorry.” I said, stifling a laugh.
“She nearly clawed out my eyes, and the worse part….” He leaned closer to me. I saw danny look up at us. “She gave the chef a one-week leave.” He whispered the rest.
“Wow, that’s so magnanimous of her…” I found his closeness disturbing, I could barely breathe, coupled with the fact that Danny’s eyes was boring h0les tn my back.
“No you don’t get it. She’s in the kitchen right now… Making breakfast. We’ve been sitting here for like two hours now…” He sighed. ” I wonder which poison she’ll conjure up and serve to us as food. ”
He smirked and looked into my face
“This is all your fault. I should have asked her first before k-ssing her…”
“Sorry, I guess…” The door flew open and kori emerged from the kitchen.
“Sorry for the delay.. ” she placed a plate on the table. I winced when I saw the contents of the plates. The pie was burnt and looked unsavory.
“Hey Kelly, Is that your dog?” She smiled at me for the first time ever. I was surprised, And pleased to.
“Yeah.”
“Danny, Damian, what are you guys waiting for…” She snatched Danny’s phone from him.
“Go on…eat up…”
“I’m not hungry…”
“Yes you are… Eat now!!”
