*FRIDAY- JANUARY 13th*
– *Diary entry –11*

Dear Diary,

Thank God it’s Friday!!!!!
I didn’t know I would make it through the week with Elijah being my lecturer but here we are, I have survived though me and him haven’t talked outside class and I still haven’t accepted his request on facebook.
The best part of this week has been Angela, lord I didn’t know it felt this wonderful to have someone to talk to apart from Koko, me and her have gotten so close the past few days.
I found myself drawn to her after we shared our personal life experiences, I told her about Viola, about Koko and my aunties.
It actually felt good to talk to her.
And right now I am really grateful for this wh0le new experience of friendsh¡p.
So I woke up slightly late today, I overslept!! I quickly took a shower because I didn’t want to be late I knew Angela would be hooting at the gate soon.
Angela comes from a rich family so she has her own cars though she is not very bright academically, her parents spoil her a lot, you see from the way she dresses, the money she usually has and just the way she carries herself.
I had just finished getting dressed when my phone rang I hurried to answer it knowing it was Angela.
‘Hello.’
‘I am outside.’
‘I will be there in a bit.’
‘Don’t take forever.’
‘Dah!’
I placed my phone down and finished up with my hair and makeup. When I was satisfied with my looks, I slung my bag over my shoulder and walked out of my room.
‘Morning Koko,’ I k-ssed her forehead, she was in the kitchen sipping a cup of coffee.
‘Morning my darling,’ she smiled.
‘I am off now.’
‘Aren’t you going to have your breakfast?’
‘My friend is waiting outside I will eat something at school.’
‘Do you still have money for lunch?’
‘Yes Koko, I have more than enough.’
‘Take care of yourself my princess.’
‘Alright,’ I said before rushing out.
Angela’s car was parked right in front of our gate I opened the door and slid into the passenger seat.
‘Morning.’
‘Morning, I overslept.’
‘Who kept you up late?’
I rolled my eyes, ‘Dah.’
She laughed before she started the car.
When we arrived at school thirty minutes later, we went straight to attend our first class. Time seemed to pass by so fast and before we knew it we were attending our last class, guess whose class it was. Phew! Elijah!!!
I composed myself and got ready for him to walk into the classroom. It’s frustrating to have him this close and yet fail to even touch him.
‘Earth to Zen,’ Angela clicked her fingers in my face
I managed a smile, ‘what?’
‘Day dreaming again when are you going to tell me about this mysterious guy who’s been hunting your thoughts?’
‘There is no mysterious guy.’
‘Keep lying to yourself.’
‘Good afternoon everyone, ‘she heard his deep familiar voice. She looked up and met his gaze, he smiled at her but she quickly looked away.
‘You are sure you haven’t met outside school,’ Angela asked
‘Not this question again.’
‘Fine.’
‘I hope we are all ready for our presentations,’ he said before he sat down.
Sarah stood up instantly and started presenting her group’s findings. From the way she was speaking, she was trying so hærd to get Elijah’s attention.
Bored, I pulled out my phone from my bag and it chose that exact minute to vibrate. I had a text from an unknown number.
‘Why have you been avoiding me?’
I looked at my phone in confusion, ‘who is this?’
‘Taka a guess.’
‘I am not good at guesses.’
‘I sent you a request on Monday and you haven’t yet accepted it.’
It finally hit me when I read his last text. Elijah! I looked up at him, his eyes locked with mine and my heart rate picked up.
He winked at me and I quickly looked back at my phone.
‘Where on earth did you get my number?’
‘I have my ways.’
‘Why are you texting me though?’
‘Why do you have to pretend as if we haven’t met before?’
‘We met once Mr. Nuez it’s not like we are friends.’
‘Mr. Nuez? You are making me old.’
I decided not to respond, I placed my phone back in my bag then it vibrated again after two minutes.
‘Can I see you after class?’
‘Why?’
‘I just want to talk nothing much.’
She could feel his eyes on her as she responded to his text.
‘Okay and please stop texting me already.
‘Fine doll.’
She smiled awkwardly trying not to give away anything to the class.
‘Someone is blushing,’ Angela whispered in her ears.
‘Shut up,’ she blushed some more.
‘So the mysterious guy just texted.’
Zen laughed, ‘Please don’t destruct me i am trying to pay attention here.’
Each group finally managed to present and Elijah graded them accordingly, eventually the class came to an end and everyone started walking out.
‘Sir I have a few question to ask,’ that was Sarah again
‘What is it now Sarah?’
‘I think I need extra coaching,’ she pouted
I shook my head in irritation.
‘Are you coming or not?’ Angela asked
‘Yes,’ I packed my things and walked towards the door ignoring Elijah and Sarah.
‘What’s for the weekend?’ Angela asked as we walked towards her car.
‘No plans, I just want to study for the test we have on Tuesday.’
‘Bookworm.’
‘Some of us weren’t born with a silver spoon in our mouths we have to study to get ahead.’
‘Oh please.’
‘Yes please.’
‘So I have two tickets for a concert tomorrow and i was thinking we could out and just have some fun.’
‘Well I don’t know if Koko will be okay with me going out at night.’
‘Live a little.’
‘I will have to ask, I will confirm later at night.’
‘Sure.’
SATURDAY- JANUARY 14th*
– *Diary entry –12*

Dear Diary,

09: 00 –lying in my bed shaking my head to the sound of slowly by Meddy.
Picking up my phone, I dialed Angie’s line and she picked up immediately.
‘Hello,’ she responded still in a sleepy tone of voice.
‘Don’t tell me you are still sleeping.’
She yawned loudly, ‘Girl you woke me up and I was having such a nice dream.’
‘God, why are you still sleeping?’
‘And why are you up so early?’
‘Girl it’s 9 hours, I woke up at 6 I have already done my chores and prepared breakfast.’
‘You will make such a goodwife I should recommend you to my brother,’ she laughed
‘So Koko says I can go for that concert as long as I don’t sleep out.’
‘Yes,’ she scre-med so loud i had to hold the phone away from my ear for a while.
‘You are gonna spoil my ears Angie,’ I said
‘Dah! So get ready I am picking you up soon.’
‘I thought you said the concert starts at 20.’
‘Yes it starts at 20 but I want us to go shopping.’
‘Okay.’
‘Later girl,’ she hung up.
I put my phone back on the bed and stood up I stripped off my clothes and went straight to the bathroom. It was a bit chilly so I didn’t spend a lot of time in the bathroom.
When I stepped out, Koko was sitting on my bed.
‘Koko, how long have you been sitting here?’
‘Long enough, I didn’t want to disturb you.’
‘You need something.’ I asked as I dried myself
‘No, I am going for bible study and I wanted to give you this,’ she handed me some money
‘What’s this for Koko?’ I asked
‘Spoil yourself, get yourself a pair of new shoes, buy some clothes or do your hair.’
‘Koko, you gave me money just a few days ago, you can use this to spoil yourself too.’
She laughed, ‘my mama spoilt me a lot when I was young this is your time to be spoilt.’
‘You do so much for me Koko, how can I ever repay me.’
‘You want to repay me, be happy live life to the fullest and don’t allow another person’s opinion to dictate how you live.’
‘I hear you.’
‘I am glad you have a friend now, I hope she is genuine.’
‘I hope so,’ I smiled.
‘Alright my darling let me get going,’ she k-ssed my forehead.
I stood watched as she walked out, shutting the door closed behind her, ‘God bless Koko for me.’
So I quickly got dressed and before I knew it, Angie was hooting at the gate.
I slang my small bag over my shoulder and walked out of the bedroom to the living room. Sherister was lying on the couch watching TV while pressing her phone.
‘Morning,’ I politely said as I walked towards the door.
She shook her head and clicked her tongue, ‘Keep your good morning for the men you are sleeping with.’
I almost responded but I choose not to stoop to her level, I simply opened the door and walked out.
Angie was parked next to our gate and she was playing loud music, I opened the passenger door and got into the car.
‘Morning to you too,’ she said as she started the car
‘Why are we playing such a loud music though,’ I rolled my eyes
‘You are such a boring girl.’
‘Men like boring girls,’ I laughed
‘Oh so Mr. Mysterious likes your boring ass.’
‘Maybe,’ I laughed
‘You need to tell me about this mysterious guy of yours.’
‘There is no mysterious guy you are being paranoid,’ I laughed
‘And yet you are blushing.’
‘Such a bore,’ I hit her playfully.
A few minutes later, we were at the mall, Angie likes shopping I swear I am not going with her to the mall ever again, we went from shop to shop and we bought a lot of stuff, she said it was her treat so she paid for everything we bought.
After we finished with the shopping, we went for lunch then we went to the saloon and did our hair.
We left the saloon around 15 she drove me home and promised to pick up later for the concert.
‘You are back?’ Koko smiled when I walked in.
‘Yes.’
‘You look amazing,’ she pointed at my hair.
‘Thanks Koko. I got you something,’ I said handing her a small box.
‘I told you to go and spoil yourself not to get me gifts,’ she said as she opened the box.
‘Awwww,’ she exclaimed ‘I love this Zen.’ I had bought her a watch.
‘You are welcome Koko, I know it’s not much but I thought of you when I saw it.’
‘It’s the thought that counts,’ she smiled
‘Are you home alone?’ I asked
‘Yes, I didn’t find anyone when I got back from church.’
‘Have you eaten, should I prepare you something to eat?’
‘Don’t strain yourself, I not hungry.’
‘Okay.’ I went straight to my room.
I placed my plastics on the bed and pulled out my phone from my bag when it vibrated.
‘Hey,’ it was a text from Elijah.
I frowned, ‘What is it?’ I replied
‘Is that a way of answering a friend?’
‘You and I are not friends, you are my lecturer.’
‘You are so stubborn Zendaya.’
‘What do you want sir?’
‘Here we go again with the sir thingy.’
‘I am just being respectful here.’
‘Okay I seriously need to see you so we can talk, are you free tonight?’
‘No.’
‘Where are you going?’
‘That is none of your business.’
‘Zendaya.’
‘If you insist, I am going out with my boyfriend,’ I responded.
‘Okay.’
‘Yes,’ i texted back, he didn’t respond after this, not that I was complaining,
I actually wanted him off my back, Elijah smells trouble and I hate trouble.
I placed my phone on the table and decided to take a short nap it’s going to be a long night I have never been to musical concert before so I am kinda excited about tonight.
