Chapter 20&21: NIGHTMARE.

Lily woke up as early as six o’clock the following morning. She had her bath, then headed for a hot tea.
This time Arya was making breakfast. Which after, she served them their meals.
Lily drove her to work while she zoomed off to Mathias home. Just as usual, like any other time, Arya was one of the first staffs to show up in the company.
She headed straight to the elevator which led to the lobby. It feels good to be back to work.
But on the other hand, Lilly’s words haven’t stopped alarming in her mind.
« You have to be very careful with people. Not every one are what and who you think they are.»
But why would Lily suspect Mr Adrian to be evil?* She thought to herself.
She went to arranged his room. She dusted the furnitures and swept the floor. Lastly, she dressed his table.
She saw the same picture which had taken her to Adrian’s past. But she takes her eyes off, waving it off her memory.
Immediately, it disappeared and she didn’t bother about that.
After she was done, she returned back to the lobby. The receptionist had come to drop the morning files to her, while she went on to fill them.
One hour passed, Mr Adrian wasn’t in his office. She thought maybe he was on a meeting but that will be unlike him, he never attends a meeting without her.
Besides, she’s his assistant. That’s what every assistant does.
Another one hour passed, she decided to meet Nicole to know what and why Mr Adrian wasn’t in his office yet.
On getting to Nicole’s door, she paused. Who knows what Nicole’s reaction will be. Since the day she got employed into the company, she’s been noticing Nicole’s attitude towards her.
And it’s obviously clear for one to conclude that she so much hates her.
For Adrian, she has to do this. She offered a knock on the door. ” Who’s that?” Asked Nicole from the in,side.
” It’s me Arya.” She answered.
There was a delay before she permitted her in. ” Come in.” Arya opened the door and walked in. ” Miss Stark, how may I help you?” She asked.
” Is the boss alright? ” She replied with a question. ” I haven’t seen him since morning.”
” I can see you are so much concerned about the boss.” Nicole said.
” I am only curious of his health and safety, that’s all. ”
” Hmm.” She hummed. ” Don’t worry about the boss, he can take good care of himself. Well, I’ll let him know you did ask of him. ”
” Did he say he will be coming to work today?” Arya asked again, sounding more concerned.
Nicole was already growing tired of her questions, but decided to hide it with a smile. ” Of course, he is. But, it will take a little later before he shows up.” She answered, trying not to sound rude.
” Okay. Do let me know if he comes.” She said.
” Of course, I will.” Nicole nodded.
” Thanks by the way. ” She appreciated.
” Any time. ” Arya walks out of the office, shutting the door after her.
She left to the cafeteria to order for a hot coffee. It’s minutes past nine and the weather was damn too cold like it has just turned twelve midnight.
She felt her phone vibrate, she took it out from her pocket. It was Lily calling.
” Hey Lil, how was the trip?” She asked.
” I’m at Mathias place now, I never expected a lot of us will show up.”
” That’s good to hear. So when will you guys be leaving to school? ” She asked again.
” Still waiting for more to come. As soon as we are complete, we’ll be leaving. ” She answered. ” Old times are always the best time. ” She chuckled.
” So, what about you? How does it feel being back to work? ” She asked her.
” Great. Just a day and I missed here like hell.”
” How is your boss?”
” He isn’t here yet.”
” Seriously? ” Lily asked. ” Is there a problem? ”
” I don’t think so. I hope not either. But the VP said everything is alright. Probably expecting him any moment from now. ” She replied.
” Now the bride awaits her groom. Hmmm, sounds unfair to me. ”
” Lily. ”
” You know, it would be nicer if it were to be the opposite. Sounds more rom-ntic. ”
” Seriously Lily. ” She sighed.
” What? Well, keep waiting for your handsome boss while I wait for my fellow school mates. Give me a call when you get back home. Gotta go, bye. ” She hangs up.
She enters into the elevator. The door was halfway to close when Nicole held it with her hand.
The two ladies stared at each other that Arya almost forgot to press on the button. ” You wouldn’t want to keep us waiting, would you? ” Nicole said.
Arya realized herself, she pressed on the button and the elevator moved them up. There was a great silence between the two of them.
Arya wished her phone would ring again. She can’t tell why she always felt this way each time she is close to Nicole. Like there is some thing about them that doesn’t accept each other’s presence.
Arya watched Nicole leave the elevator, heading to Mr Adrian’s office. She listened to hear his voice, he was in his office.
*Has it been so long since he came? Has he looking for me that he had to call in Nicole instead?* She thought to herself.
But… but she told Nicole to let her know if the boss comes. Why would Nicole keep quiet about it despite they were in the same elevator?
Why would she be so wicked and have such huge hatred against her?
She got to her desk, the files were still the way she had kept it. She sat there, and she couldn’t even drink up her remaining coffee.
Maybe Lily was right about what she said. It seems like her too much kindness and simplicity towards the boss and everyone here is getting to the wrong direction.
She has to be careful with everyone here… even to her boss.
She waited until Nicole was done with whatever she was doing in,side, before she could submit the files.
The door opened, and both Nicole and Mr Adrian stepped out of his office.
” Miss Stark, I need you in my office.” He said.
Arya’s heart skipped a beat. She tried not to look at Nicole who was actually staring at her. She passed without saying a word.
She picked the files from the desk, heading to his office with a racing heart. She shut the door after her.
” Good morning, Miss Stark.” He greeted.
” Uhm… I’m sorry. Good morning.” She greeted back.
” It’s okay. Are those the papers? ” He asked, referring to the books in her hands.
” Yes, they are. ” She drops it on his desk.
” How was your break?” He asked again.
” It was really helpful, thanks. ” She replied.
” That’s good to hear. Hope you are getting better?” He asked, Arya nodded.
” I remembered about the guy at the cinema. I think I know how it all happened… and about the bite. All thanks to you, I wouldn’t have been a bit relieved if not of your care. Thank you. ”
” You don’t have to thank me, I’m just trying to help. And I am happy you did remember. All you’ve got to do is to tell no one else about this. ”
” Lily my roommate already knows about it. ” She said.
” Can you trust her on it? ” He asked.
Arya nodded again. ” She’s very good at keeping secrets. I trust her more than anyone. ”
Adrian smiled with a soft nod.” Then we are safe.”
She forced herself to smile. ” I’ll just get back to my office.”
” Okay.”
Later that night as Arya returned back home, she first went to the supermarket few miles from the company.
At home, she made herself cornflakes with a chilled orange juice. She turned on the television to keep herself comfortable.
Sleep clouded her eyes. She forced herself to stay awake until the movie was over. She yawned tiredly, rubbing her eyes with the back of her hands.
The sleep was too much for her to endure, she didn’t know when she slept off on the sofa.

Arya opened her eyes to see herself in her office, sitting on her desk. For the first time since she started her job, she was working on her night shift.
She was busy with her cell phone watching a netflix movie when the elevator door opened.
She didn’t realize the guest who had just walked in. All her attention were on the video playing.
She shivered and her phone almost slipped off her hands at the sound of the loud hit on her desk.
She quickly pulled out the earplugs from her ears, trying to figure out who and what the gentleman wanted.
” Excuse me, how may I help you?” She asked politely.
” I’m here for your boss. ” He said in a croaky voice, eyes staring around the lobby.
” I’m sorry but, did you meet with the receptionist?” She asked.
” I don’t fu*king care about the receptionist. I need to see the owner of this company! ” He stormed.
” I would honestly do that for you if only you calm down. Mr Adrian doesn’t entertain such attitude here. ” She informed.
” Shut the fu*k up and get your boss out of his office. ” He growled.
” I will not. ” Arya insisted, frowning at the man’s rude attitude. ” And besides, Mr Adrian is not in his office. You can return tomorrow or next. ”
” You listen to me, young lady, I’m gonna walk in there and if I get to see that your boss is around, I’ll have you roasted right before him. ” He threatened.
” Are you threatening me? ”
” I’m warning you, sweetheart. ” He walked to go into Mr Adrian’s office but Arya stood to stop him.
” I won’t let you in, Mr.” She said firmly.
” You don’t have to. ” With the back of his hand, he slapped her to the ground.
Arya stood up with a bleeding mouth, her hand on her affected cheek. But when the man tried to get hold of the door knob, the door opened.
Adrian exchanged glance with him. Then his gaze moved to Arya who was helping herself stand. She wiped off the blood stains out of her mouth, adjusting her skirt in position.
” Are you alright?” He asked and she nodded.
He returns his gaze at the angry looking man. ” First, you barged in to my company without a permission. Second, you dared to touch my assistant. And third, for yelling at her. So I’m gonna ask you, why are you here? ”
” I don’t think you of all people should be asking me that. You know why I am. Hand over the sectrum to me. ”
” What sectrum is he talking about? ” Arya asked, clouded with confusion.
