WRITE YOURS ‼️ Chapter 24: A THIRST OF HER BLOOD. * * * Arya opened the door by the sound of the knock on the door. She was so excited to see Lily once again after three days. " Wow, it's good to be back home." Lily said, collapsing on the couch. " How was the night party?" Arya asked, sitting beside her. " It was really fantastic. I can't believe I spent the wh0le night awake and drinking." " Alcohol? " " No. Why would I drink alcohol for this tiny little brain of mine? " They laughed. " I made new friends too. " " Wow. I'm happy you did enjoy your day." " Yeah. What about you? Any weird dreams or... whatever? " She asked. " Not really. " She looked sad. " You aren't telling me something, are you?" She asked. " Something did happen to you?" " Last night. " She sighed. " What happened last night? " " I was attacked by the same guy at the carnival." She replied. " Oh my goodness. What the fu*k does that son of a bitch wants from you? " She yanked. " This is serious. Did you reported to the police? " " There is no how I can report him, he's a vampire and who knows where he lives or stays? I will have to pay extra money for the cops to find him. It's pointless. " " Did he hurt you? " " No. " Shook her head. " Though he almost did but, I don't know how it all happened but he disappeared." " Hold on, he disappeared as in... disappeared?" Arya nodded. " This is witchcraft. How on earth is that possible?" " I think something or some one stopped him from hurting me. " " What about Adrian, you have to talk to him about this." She suggested. " He knows already. " " He does?" " He said he heard what happened so, he came to check on me. He does know it is a vampire. He says he's working on my safety." She looks at Lily who was staring at her attentively. " What does that mean?" " I think he wants to take you under custody, maybe for the meantime. It depends on how long this vampire and weird dreams of a thing keeps on happening." " But it's kinda weird, you know. There is no vampire attack or news about victims dead or missing and stuffs like that. It's only happening to me and my conscience. And I don't know why." " That is some thing I can't tell. The most important thing is, Mr Adrian knows about this and will probably help handle the issue at hand." " You seem to be liking him already." Arya noticed how opened Lily was to the idea of Adrian taking her into his custody. Unlike before, she hated everything about him. Even to the extent of suspecting he was up to some thing evil which she believes might be the main reason for what is happening to her. Is it the effect of the night party, or has she actually changed so suddenly?? " Well, not like I do trust your so-called boss hundred percent, all I am concerned is for your safety that's all. But since he has decided to keep you safe for me, I am happy." She simply said. * * * The following day at the Raines Corporation, just the normal early morning routine, Arya has been working on the papers, crosschecking the files over and over again. Mr Adrian came a bit early today. About five minutes after Arya had come. He was on a phone call with one of the vampire councils, the Baron, who has decided to help him raise some fund for the investment property. And in return, he was going to give him his full support on the forth coming governorship election which is to take place in two months time. As Arya made it to the door, it opened and Adrian was standing before her still with his phone on his ear. He signaled her to drop it in his office while he trailed off to the elevator. After she had dropped it on his desk, turning, she saw something on the floor. It was reddish in colour. She tried not to look at it, maybe it was one of those crazy dimensional visions that she hates. Though she tried to over look it, but the curiosity in her over the sight of this reddish substance drew her attention the more. It was definitely not those dimensional visions she had thought, it looked like a paint stain. She felt the substance with her finger. No, it doesn't look like a paint stain either. It was blood. Mr Adrian's blood. Then she followed the same direction of the blood stains, more drops of blood trailed ahead of it. Mr Adrian is bleeding? Seems like he isn't aware of that. She thought to herself. She went to get a mop from the laundry room. She cleaned out the blood stains with it so as to avoid someone else from seeing it. Mr Adrian didn't return until it was night, the actual time work ends. Gradually, everyone left to their various homes. Arya decided to wait a little longer for him to show up but when it was ten minutes after the closing time, she decided to go home. But when she got to the elevator, she pressed on the button, it refuses to open. She clicked on it again, and the same thing happened. Someone might be in the elevator, she thought to herself. And when the button turned green, the elevator door opened. Arya gasped in shock to see Adrian. He wasn't the way he was when he left the building. He was covered in his own blood. " Mr Adrian?!" She screamed in fear, not knowing where to hold him. His body was covered with bruises and blood rolling out of it. " What happened to you?" She drops her bag to the ground, supporting him back to his office. She gently drops him on his sofa. " We should call for help." She said but he refused. " No, don't call anyone." " But you're bleeding. And you'll lose so much blood if we don't call for help." She said worriedly. " I'll be fine." He said coldly. " I'll be fine." " Are you sure?" " I will. You should go home now." He said, his voice sounding faintly. " No, I can't leave you here just like this. You might end up dying." He gro-ned, mo-ning softly. He has lost so much blood and he needs to restore them back. His body was already growing pale and white. Inside of him, the urge to feed grew rapidly. He held himself. He wouldn't want to feed on his assistant. He wouldn't want to hurt her. And he wouldn't want to remind her about his true identity. But despite how hard he held himself, he couldn't withstand the hunger and thirst for blood. Her blood. If she had left, it would have been a lot safer. But she refused to and he can't keep fighting the urge back. " Go home." He said again, but she refused. " I am not going anywhere. I will stay with you." She insisted. " Please, you have to go." " All those while I was in trouble, all those while I had sleepless nights, you never stop caring for me. Let me care for you this time." She said. Slowly, his gaze moved to her neck. And he could hear the loud sound of her heat beat. " I don't wanna hurt you." He said. " You aren't hurting me." " You don't understand. I don't wanna hurt you." " I don't know what you are talking about but... you are not hurting me. I decided to stay." " I... I'm... thirsty." He forced himself to speak. " I can get you a glass of water." She stood up to get the glass of water, but stopped when he said he wasn't thirsty for water. " What then should I get for you to drink?" She asked, concerned. " I... I..." He paused. " Talk to me, what is it you want to drink." " I need to feed. I need blood to feed." Arya's eyes widened in fear. Those were the same words the creature had said to her two nights ago. But why? Why would Mr Adrian want to feed on nothing else but her blood? " Okay. I... you can have my blood then." She volunteered. " No. I don't wanna hurt you." He refused. " I wouldn't offer my blood to you if you were dangerous. You need to stay alive." She squatted beside him. She unbuttoned the first two buttons of her shirt, shifting the collar of her shirt that he neck was exposed. " Take my blood." He pulled himself close to her. Holding her neck, he sank his canine teeth into her skin. She mo-ned. And after he had drank to his satisfaction, he pulled out. " Is that enough, or do you still want more?" " It's enough. Thank you." She nodded her head. He collapsed back on the chair, dozing off in just a second. Arya could feel the sudden weakness in her. Her eyes was becoming heavy and dizzy.
