Episode 18

EMMA P.O.V

“Did you wanna beat me?” I asked immediately she stood up from the chair.

“How dare you slapped me? What have I done to deserve this slap from you?” She asked fuming in anger.

“That slap is to reset your brain, because you aren’t the Brittany I grow up with, the Brittany I grow up with will never hide something from me, no matter what, so answer my question, why did you lie to me?” I asked and she cleaned her tears with the back of her hand.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t love him, I just wanna feel how big he’s” Brittany replied.

“Why did you use my phone to sent him a message?” I asked and placed my hand on my w–st.

“Can we just forget about this please?” she said.

“No you need to answer my dawn question” I replied looking her in the eyes.

“I did it because I know he won’t come if I used my number” she replied.

“This isn’t the Brittany I grow up with, I’m gonna ask you this for the last time!” I said and she nod her head.

“Did you love Rowen?” I asked and she nod her head negatively immediately.

“Good, I don’t want to see you near him again, since you’ve agreed you don’t love him, and I don’t want the nonsense you did yesterday to repeat itself,” I said.

“Alright” she replied staring at her feet.

She has made it hærd for me to trust her.

Yes I know I’m a bad, friend, but I can never betray my friends, I always go for what I want without lieing.

One of the things I hate in this life is lies.

I never knew Brittany is a liar.

“Emma I’m very sorry,” Brittany said and Nadia walked in,side the house with her bag in her hand.

“No problem, are you ready?” I asked her.

“Sure I’m” Brittany replied. “This bag is dawn heavy where did you get all these things from?” Nadia asked.

“Rowen brought them” I replied.

“Oh my goodness! Don’t tell me he used all his salary to get you this?” Brittany asked and Nadia roll her eyes at her.

“I don’t know” I replied.

“Nadia drops the bag in the house fast, we are going for a meeting,” I said.

“Alright, Miss Maxwell,” she said and ran off. “I’m done can we go now,” Nadia said.

“I’m nervous, I wish they can give me the chance because I’ve been dying to partner with from him,” I said.

“Don’t worry, they will” Nadia replied, I look towards Brittany’s direction and found out she’s lost again.

“Britt!” I called and she jerked up immediately. “Are you okay?” I asked.

“Sure I just wanna know if you’ve forgiven me,” she said and I burst into laughter.

“Common, I don’t keep grudges, I’ve forgiven you” I replied and she smiled at me.

“Let me help you with your bag,” she said and I gave my bag to her.

“I’m glad you’re back to your senses” Nadia said and Brittany playfully glare at her.

“Let’s go, before we get late for the interview,” Brittany said.

“That’s right!” I said and we all rushed out.

“Your phone is ringing,” Brittany said and brought out my phone from my bag.

“Thanks, baby,” I said and collected the phone from her.

Mike, why’s he calling me? I click on the answer button and take it closer to my ear.

“Hey!” I said. “Emma, hope you’re good,” he said, I can guess he’s smiling right now.

“go straight to the point, why did you call?” I asked.

“I called to inform you that I’ve disclosed your location to your parents,” He said.

“what the f–k, Mike why will you do that?” I yelled.

“I only did my job” he replied and laugh hærd. “Mike, did you know you’re an f00l?” I asked.

“Whatever!” He replied.

“I’ll so deal with you,” I said.

“Give me what I want and I’ll clear you from this mess,” he said.

“You only know I’m in Paris but you don’t know my location there, Paris is a very big place, you can’t find me,” I said.

“Don’t dare me!” He said and I end the call immediately.

I’m very sure he can’t find me.

“Who was that?” Brittany asked.

“Mike!” I replied. “The private investigator?” She asked.

“Yes,” I replied her. “That f00l,” she said with gritted teeth.

“He told my parents my location,” I said. “Goodness!, Let’s move out,” she said.

“Nope if I get this partnersh¡p it will go a long way for me, I’ll be the number one richest woman,” I said.

Thinking about Rowen, I don’t even think I can leave him, not after having a taste of him.

Nadia waved her hand on my face and I left out a nervous smile.

“What are you thinking about?” She asked. “Nothing special” I replied and Brittany clear her throat.

We get in,side the car and I drove off immediately. I wished myself good luck.

AUTHORESS P.O.V

Rowen walked in,side the restaurant with a smile on his face.

“Why are you just coming?” Bryan asked and Rowen stop on his track.

“I went to meet somewhere special, can I go in now?” Rowen ask.

“You’re bitting more than you can chew Rowen,” Bryan said.

“Sack me! I’m very sure other restaurants are waiting for you to sack me, so they can employ me, and did you know how many offers I get every day? The pay is even more than yours, just get out of my way” Rowen said and pushed him away.

“He’s becoming prouder these days, I hope it’s not what I’m thinking,” Bryan said.

Rowen met Austin on his way, and Austin pretended as if he didn’t see him.

“Where did he get headphones from?” Rowen asks himself before walking to the kitchen.

“He will come around,” Rowen said.

Austin walked to the kitchen and came to pickup up a cup

“Austin!” Rowen called. Austin pretended as If he didn’t hear him, he picked up the cup he came to pick and made to walked away before Rowen stopped him.

“Can’t you greet?” Rowen asks with a smile. “Get out!” Austin said and brought out a gum from his pocket.

“What has come over you?” Rowen ask.

“Get out!” Austin said.

“I’m sorry!” Rowen said.

“Sorry for what?” Austin asked with a smirk.

“I don’t know, but I felt like I offended you,” Rowen said.

“Yes you did, you left me all to myself yesterday and you didn’t even come back early, a whole me, have you forgotten you left your wife in the house?” Austin asked.

“Who’s my wife?” Rowen ask.

“Me of course, am I not s-×y enough?” Austin asked turning around.

“You’re cràzy, get out,” Rowen said with a smile. “Wait I discovered something,” Austin said with a smirk.

“What’s that?” Rowen asks immediately.

EMMA P.O.V

I watched as big business walked out of Mr. Stanley’s office angrily, I don’t need a soothsayer to tell me that he doesn’t accept to work with them, their face says it all.

“you’re the last person on his list!” Nadia said. “Yes I hope he considers me,” I said and Brittany rubbed the back of my hand.

“I know you’re nervous, believe me, you’ll get the job,” Brittany said with a smile.

“Thanks best part” I replied and she smiled at me.

“Are you Miss Maxwell?” A lady ask and I raise my head immediately before standing up.

“yes I’m Miss Maxwell” I replied with a smile. “The director wanna see you,” she said with a polite smile.

“Where’s his office?” I asked.

“The first door by your left, good luck to you ma,” she said with a smile and I waved at Brittany and Nadia before walking away.

“Good morning Mr. Stanley” I greet with a smile.

“How are you beautiful Miss Maxwell?” He asked with a smile.

“I’m not fine, I’ll be fine when you partner with me” I replied and he smiled out showing off his teeth.

“I’ll partner with you on one condition,” he said. “What’s the condition?” I replied eagerly.

“Calm down Miss Maxwell,” he said and I nod my head.

“Be my contract wife for two months!” He said and I left my mouth open in shock.

“you’re what?” I asked surprised.

Episode 19

EMMA P.O.V

“Mr. Stanley, I hope you’re okay?” I asked surprised.

“Miss Maxwell I’m very okay, let me explain to you for a better understanding, my parents want me to get married,” he said looking at my face.

How’s that my own f–king business.

“Then get married, I’m very sure you have a girlfriend, get married to her and leave me out of this” I replied him.

“To be sincere with I’m not mentally ready to get married, and they vowed to give the company to my younger brother if I don’t, I need your help, I don’t have a girlfriend, because I don’t have time for such, no intimacy” he replied.

“Why don’t you look for someone else, must it be me?” I asked.

“My parents know you as a responsible and a very hærdworking woman, if I take you home to them, they’ll be very happy and hand over the properties to me,” He said.

“Did your parents know me?” I asked.

“Who won’t know the hærdworking and beautiful Emma Maxwell, they do and they always wish I and my brother end up with someone like you,” He said, this is very hærd for me.

“You can do it please, according to my findings, I found out you’re single and not searching, so you can do this for me please” he pledges sbd I breathe out.

“I don’t know what to say Mr. Stanley” I replied. “Just save me and my brother’s future, my brother isn’t interested in managing the company, he’s a model and he has been begging me to get a wife, he was the one that brought this idea,” He said.

“Mr. Stanley, I need to deeply think about this, but I have a question,” I said.

“Go ahead and ask please, I’m listening” he replied.

“What if I didn’t come here for the partnersh¡p?” I asked.

“I’ll find you, yes I’ve been planning to meet you” Mr. Stanley replied.

“Alright, can I leave now?” I asked.

“Sure you can, but please I need a positive answer” He replied and I smile at him.

“Alright Mr. Stanley,” I said.

“Alright, the partnersh¡p is available anytime you’re ready,” Mr. Stanley said, I nod my head. “Wait, I’ve another question,” I said.

“You’re free tomorrow ask as many questions as you like” he replied.

“Good, those women that went out sad, did you also tell them to be your contract wife?” I asked because I don’t get why all of them walked out sad.

“No I simply turned down their offers” he replied smiling.

“Can I know the reason why you turned down their offers?” I asked.

“Because I saw your name in the list and secondly, those people are scams, I did my findings and discovered they aren’t genuine, thou if you give me a no for an answer I’ll still partner with you because you worth it, but I need your help, I badly need it,” he said.

“Alright I’ll get back to you tomorrow,” I said. “Alright, here’s my card, call me when you’re ready,” he said and I collected the card from him.

“How’s it?” Nadia and Brittany asked immediately I stepped my foot in,side the reception.

“Not bad, I’ll explain to you once we get to the house,” I said.

“Your facial expression isn’t giving me what I want, it’s hærd to know if he allows you to partner with him or not,” Nadia said with a frown.

“Don’t worry babe I’ll tell you when we get to the house” I replied her.

“I wish he gives you the chance,” Brittany said. “He did, but with a condition” I replied.

“Oh my goodness! I don’t care whatever the condition is, you must accept to do it” Nadia shouted happily.

“Are you okay?” Brittany asked angrily.

“I’m okay” Nadia replied with an eye roll.

“What if the condition is hærd?” Brittany asked. “It can never be hærd” Nadia replied.

AUTHORESS P.O.V

“I discovered that you’re inlove,” Austin said and Rowen chuckle.

“Don’t you want me to fall in love?” Rowen ask. “I want to always see you happy, but I want you to love with your head,” Austin said.

“you’re right” Rowen replied.

“I know” Austin replied with a smirk.

“Hope you’ve told her about your feelings?” Austin’s asked.

“No I haven’t opened up to her, Emma is a hærd nut to crack” Rowen replied with a smile.

“Really? I thought she’s cheap?” Austin asked. “She’s not cheap, she doesn’t believe in love” Rowen replied.

“Something must have made her not to believe in love just like you, but keep pressuring her, I believe she will soon be yours,” Austin said.

“The best relationsh¡p advice comes from single people like you, you should try putting the effort you put in giving people relationsh¡p advice in,side your relationsh¡p, I’m very sure it will work out,” Rowen said with a smirk.

“We are on the same boat bro, you’re single and I’m single, that made us two single souls,” Austin’s said.

“I’ll soon be in a relationsh¡p, and I’m not a relationsh¡p coach like you” Rowen replied.

“Whatever, make use of my advice and if you need any advice I’m always here for you,” Austin’s said with a smile.

“I don’t need your advice Mr” Rowen replied with a smile.

“I need to be seeing this smile on your face every day,” Austin said.

“You’re going cràzy,” Rowen said.

“Yes for you baby,” Austin said chewing his bubble gum loud.

“Hey, you aren’t in the hotel” Rowen yelled.

“Oh have you forgotten that’s how you chew gums?” Austin’s asked.

“That’s a lie, a big fat lie” Rowen replied.

“I know you won’t believe” Austin replied. “Where did you get the headphone on your neck from?” Rowen ask.

“I brought it when I missed you yesternight” Austin replied and Rowen pitifully shake his head.

Bryan opened his mouth in shock unable to close it back from his hiding place.

“So Rowen is in love with Miss Maxwell? He even went to her place yesterday? No wonder he came late to work, This isn’t happening, Steve will be broken If I tell him about it, I don’t have a choice I need to tell him” Bryan said and Rowen come out of the kitchen.

“Mr. Manager, what are you doing here? Did this place look like your office to you?” Rowen ask and Bryan hissed out loud.

“I’ll forgive you for today, but I’ll remove your front teeth the next time you hissed at me, got that into your empty skull,” Rowen said and walked out.

Austin muttered sorry to Bryan before running after Rowen.

“This guy is just too full of hiself,” Bryan said and walked to his office.

He picked up his phone and dialed steve’s number and he picked up at the first ring.

“Hey bro!” Steve said from the other end of the call.

“Can I see you later today?” Bryan asked.

“Sure bro, hope no problem?” He asked. “There’s no problem, I just wanna tell you something” Bryan replied.

“Alright bro, choose the time,” Steve said.

“I’ll call you when I close from work” Bryan said.

“Alright, I can’t wait to know what you wanna talk about” Steve said.

“it’s about Miss Maxwell,” Bryan said.

“Emma, what happened to her?” Steve asked immediately.

“Nothing, relax man!” Bryan said.

“Are you sure there’s nothing?” Steve asked. “Trust me” Bryan replied.

“Why did you hàte Mr. Bryan so much?” Austin’s asked.

“You know the reason why so stop asking me unnecessary questions” Rowen replied.

“Just forgive him, you’re making life uncomfortable for him in this place,” Austin said

. “I just don’t like seeing his ugly face, he should stay away from me” Rowen replied.

EMMA P.O.V

“What are you going to do about it now?” Nadia asked.

“I don’t know, I need to think deeply” Emma replied.

“There’s nothing to think about, this is the opportunity you’re looking for, you are single and you can do it, and it’s not as if you guys will get married, even if you guys will get married, there’s divorce so you can divorce him anytime you get tired of the game,” Nadia said.

“It’s easier said than done, what if I fall in love with him along the line?” I asked.

“There’s nothing bad in it, and I’m very sure you can’t fall inlove with him, this isn’t movie or novel, where people fall in love with their contract partner, you can do it Emma” Nadia replied.

Brittany has been keeping quiet since I told them About the offer.

“Brittany what did you have to say?” I asked.
