NORMANI POV.

It had been two days and Sin wasn’t back home yet, he left the day after Luna came for some work outside but hadn’t been back, nor had Luca. Sin, no matter how busy he was, he always came back
home to me, even if he had to stay out Iate to take care of a business, he always came back. I tried calling Luca and Sin but it just went straight to their voicemail. I was really getting worried, Samantha kept telling me that Sin was capable of taking care of himself and he was probably busy.

But that stopped the ball of nerves in my throat as fear gripped my heart at the thought of something bad happening to
him.I checked the time on the alarm clock beside the bed to see it was 9:30pm in the night but I couldn’t go to sleep due to anxiety and worry. I picked up my phone to call Sin and Luca again just to go to their voicemail like it had been doing for the past two days.

I didn’t know how long I sat on the bed,
staring into nothingness, hoping for him
to come back home. I didn’t realize when I fell asleep waiting for him until I woke up, I turned on my phone to check the time to see it was 2:00am in the morning.

I yawned and turned around when I heard someone thathiss in pain and there he was, standing close to the bathroom door. His hand held his chest, his shirt soaked in blood. He looked like he was in pain, so much pain. That was when I realized that he had been shot!.

I hurriedly jumped out of the bed and rushed to him as I held back the tears that
threatened to fall from my eyes. It hurt to see him in pain , especially so much pain, that was how much I loved him. I tried really hærd to hold the tears but couldnt and a sob escaped my l-ips, I used my hand to cover my mouth, trying to get myself under control. I took a deep breath.

“Nikolai” I called out to him but he didnt answer. I took a step closer to where he stood and he took a step back, hiding in the dark.

“Nikolai, I just want to help. I.. I can’t stand seeing you hurt, please. I don’t know what I would do if you end up dying, I don’t want to lose you too. ” I swallowed hærd as I remembered the painful scene of my parents’ death. When I was called into the principal’s office during class, I thought I had done something wrong because I had never been to the principal office before or even given detention. But when I got him, I knew it was about something else with the look she had on her face. It was a look of pity and my world came shuttering down when I was informed about their death. A car accident, a drunken driver had hit them and they had died on impact.

It was as if I was reliving the feeling I had seeing Him like this, hurt. Fear ran through me, and I tried to shake it off. I looked at Sin and let out a series of hiccups.

” I’m scared, Nikolai. “that caught his attention and he stepped forward from the
dark. I let out a gasp at how bloody his shirt was, he was barely able to stand.

I quickly walked towards him, holding unto him to support his weight. I took him in,side the bathroom, I closed the toilet seat and helped him sit on it. He let out a series of curse In Italian while I searched through the cabinet for a first aid kit. I was able to see one, I kept it on the floor beside him. Then walked out of the room and ran downstairs to get a bottle of alcohol before running back upstairs and back in,side the bathroom.

I washed my arms then I took out a cotton holding it with a tong and soaked it
with alcohol

” Just so you know, this is going to hurt.” I said as I was about the cotton on his red, fresh wounds.

“Amore, you need to pour the alcohol o
n my wound” He said.

I looked at him, my eyes asking if he was sure because that would hurt him more. He gave me a nod telling me to go
ahead. I took a deep breath, picked the
bottle up from the ground and poured it
on his wound.

He threw his head back and hissed in pain ” Fanculo” He gritted his teeth, then
relaxed.

“I’m so sorry, I told you it would hurt. ” I
waited for a moment. I took the tweezer and looked at him. He looked so peaceful, staring at me but I kept all my focus and concentration removing the bullet from his stomach. Thankfully it looked like it didn’t hit any vital org-ns.

After successfully removing the bullet, I
took the needle and thread, carefully stitching him up. I picked up the bandage,
dipping it in,side the water and rolled it round his toned abs. I finished and looked at it to see that it was okay. I let out a sigh. I washed the blood off my hands and disposed of his shirt. I gathered all the medical equipment, put them back in the kit and placed it back in the cabinet.

I moved towards him to check on the bandage to see if everything was okay but
shivered when I felt his hand between my knee, going up to my inner th-gh. Was this man really right in the head? Who in there right mind think of s€× at this particular moment.

Only him Mani, my subconscious laughed at me as I tightened my legs to prevent his hand from exploring further up.
Shaking my head. ” No Nikolai, you are
hurt and you need rest.”

“yes amore.”

I shook my head with tears in my eyes,
how can he be nonchalant about this. He could have died today. Everything came rushing back in and I couldn’t controI myself. I let out a loud sob, crying like l was a baby standing in front of him as he sat on the toilet seat. I covered my m
outh to stop the sob from being heard but it was no use. I looked at the ceiling, crying my eyes out.

I felt Sin’s hand clap against mine and he pulled me closer to him. His head rested on my tummy listening to me cry, his hands wrapped around my wa-ist. My chest went up and down with hiccups and cries.

“sshh, amore. I’m sorry I scared you. Non piangere di nuovo bambina, ti prego
perdonami ( Do not cry again baby girl please forgive me)” he hugged me tightly. I placed my hand on his head, stroking his
hair.

” Mi dispiace bambina, non posso sopp
ortare di vederti piangere (I’m sorry baby girl, I can’t bear to see you cry) I promise to
be careful and not get hurt. ” he said, his tone, sounded broken but sincere.

” promise.” l asked looking down at him
while he raised his head on my tummy to look up at me.

“I promise amore.” He said, k-ssing my
tummy before resting his head on it again, I stroked his head, bending to k-ss his head. I used my other hand to clean up my tears.

I helped him up from the seat and we walked back into the room. I gently placed him on the bed, heading to the door when I heard a knock.

I opened it to see Luca standing at the other side with a man not older than forty. He had a briefcase in his hand and a stethoscope on his neck. I stepped away to let them in and the doctor walked over to him.

“How did he get hurt. “I asked Luca, who was standing beside me.

“We had to go to one of his clubs at the
outskirts of the city and we were ambushed unexpectedly. We had no idea how to find our location.”

I wanted to ask more questions but was cut off by the doctor’s voice.

“who treated his wounds. ” the man asked. I stepped forward wondering if I made any mistakes.

“Is there something wrong?” I asked skeptically.

“no, everything is ok. You did a marvelous job with the stitches. I’m just going to give you pain relief Medicine to give to him once he wakes up.” The man opened the briefcase he was with and brought out a bottle of pills handing them to me.

“Thank you. ”

“I didn’t really do anything, you handled
it all well. ” he sent a smile my way and
walked out of the room.

I decided to check up on him myself, if it’s just a little glance to see if he was alright that was enough for me. I went downstairs towards his office and gave a light knock on the door. Many thoughts swirled around my head.

I didn’t know when the door was opened
and jumped in shock when I heard a deep voice say come in., sticking my head In first. I saw the numbers of men that were there, some I was familiar with and some I had no idea who they were.

I was about to close the door, not having the confidence to step in,side the room when Sin’s raspy voice killed the silence.

“Come here. bambina”.

I pushed the door,entering in,side. I swallowed hærd as I walked towards him, I was able to make out Mateo and Jason face amidst the numbers of men here. Mateo had a smile on his face while Jason had a glare on his which was directed to me.

I guess some things never change. At the back of Sin, stood Luca since he was his right hand man, making him second in command. He was smiling at me and the doctor stood at the other side of Sin with his briefcase.

My legs carried me nervously despite the hærd state but I refused to show how affected I was with the presence of the
scary looking men, I raised my head up and shoulders high, walking towards Sin.

I reached his table and stood a distance
apart from him. I rubbed my sweaty palms on my gown, which look elikesd shorter than ever. Was this dress always this short? I pondered.

“Closer bambina”. He practically ordered, pointing to where he was sitting. I took in a deep breath and went closer to
where he was. Luca had a teasing smirk
on his face as he watched me.

When I got closer to him, he pulled me
down on his lap and I tried to get up because I didn’t want to open up his
stitches. He put his hand on my wa-ist, holding me down tightly. Making sure I wasn’t able to escape from his hold.

“you should let me go or you would end
up opening your stitches. ” I say to him. He shook his head, refusing to let me go.

” I’m okay amore.”

“You scared me real bad.” I whispered

“I know.” That was all he said. I wrapped my hand around his neck and we stayed like this in each other’s embrace.
