💜 Iris’s standpoint 💜
Looking around the huge club blaring with music and disorienting me with the multicolored lights and scre-ms, Knight pulled me deeper into the sea of people with their hands up in the air or on each other’s body doing things I better not say. His hand stayed around my wa-ist, a very protective hold that made me think of Hans and the time at the club.
How I miss him.
Knight continued to pull me until we were walking up a staircase with lot of bouncers and few girls trying to sed-ce the bouncers. I wore a beige choker mini gown with some kind of pale emerald ankle boots. The dress was so short I had to pull it down constantly and walk carefully so the dress wouldn’t fly up. Knight on the other hand went for a red raglan long sleeve T-shirt with white lines at the hem of the sleeves and body. He wore white jeans and shoes, so easy. I envy men and their easy dressing. It took him just five minutes to get ready while it took me thirty.
Knight pulled me into another hallway, a totally different hallway with lesser annoying music as someone else was singing. He walked me to one of the doors and pulled me in. My heart skipped, I preferred to be back at the lower section of the club. The place was like a br-astaurant with ecdysiasts and cage dancers everywhere. I couldn’t believe where Knight dragged me to.
‘Knight, where the f-ck is this?!’ I scre-med.
‘Relax,’
‘I can’t relax, I’m not suppose to be seen in such a place, Grandpappy will be very disappointed in me!’
‘I told him we were going out, right? He knows me, I don’t party lightly. Just ignore the unclad and scantily dressed women, you’ll be fine.’
‘And the ones in the cage swinging her genitals at everyone?’
‘Ignore,’ he pulled me to a round table filled with boys with strippers in each of their arms or giving them one pleasure or the other.
‘Who owns this filthy place?’ I whispered yelled. He glanced at me.
‘Hey guys!’
‘Knight!’ They shouted. ‘He finally arrives!’ Knight slipped his hand away from me.
‘Yo man!’ One greeted, giving him a handshake. He was black with dreadlocks and a goatee beard.
‘Knight, my man!’ He went about greeting all ten of them while I stood there like a fool, looking at all the men and women here. These poor things are condemned because of money. I almost passed out when I saw just one guy with five wh-res. Just him?!
‘Whoa!!!’ I flinched when I heard them scre-m. I look back at the boys with hands on my chest and accusing eyes.
‘We thought you wouldn’t bring her along,’ the dreadlocks guy said.
‘She’s way more beautiful in person!’
‘Congratulations Knight, you have got a hot one!’
‘Come on guys, I’ve told you she is my cousin.’
‘And I’m your seventh wife,’ one said sarcastically.
‘And me his br-ast friend,’ another added. They burst into laughter. They were sickening me, all obviously were older than Knight. No wonder he is so rotten, his friends are horrible.
‘Please sit,’ the only one who wasn’t laughing offered me a sit.
‘Thank you but…’ Knight shut me up by pushing me down to sit with him. The guy was really heavily built with over gymed muscles, I could tell through the cap sleeve shirt he wore.
‘Just relax,’ he smiled before plopping himself down to sit beside the dreadlocks. ‘Hilde, these are my niggas, Jess,’ he slapped the dreadlocks. ‘Merck,’ he pointed at the one that said he was a br-ast. ‘Timothy is the one beside you…’
What are you doing Iris? Stop shivering and act like the boss you are, this is an opportunity to resurrect your boldness. You can do this.
‘And finally, that is Lloyd,’
‘Are you done wasting your time calling the names of people that does not matter to me? I still don’t know why you pulled me here Knight, I thought I was coming to meet your friends, not your gangsters.’ I eyed Timothy who was getting too close.
‘Ouch,’ they laughed. ‘She’s a harsh one.’
‘Hildegarde be nice,’ Knight said with a frown.
‘Hildegarde be nice?’ I snorted. ‘I have been working my ass out to fit in as the next successor only for you to do this?! Do you know what will happen if a picture of me here is to be taken and then later after the reveal someone post it? What it would do to my growing image? I already have a past to handle Knight, and sitting here in a br-astaurant with unfortunate ecdysiasts and cage dancers that don’t have any other thing meaningful to do with their godsaken lives and surrounded by future criminals that calls themselves stars, is not a good image. If you want to keep killing your souls, continue, I don’t mind. Now I see why Grandpappy never considered you as worthy.’ I stood up and walked to the door, not running but walking out majestically like I owned the world.
Heart attack! Heart attack! I could have gotten raped!
‘Hildegarde!’ Knight shouted. I continued walking until I was out in the hallway. Knight ran after me and blocked my way. He had a buoyant smile on his face, eyes glinting with pride and admiration.
I laughed and punched his chest. ‘Jerk,’ I said with a laughing incredulous tone. ‘You brought me here on purpose!’
‘I did, Grandpappy told me to. A real McMillan would know what and what is good or bad for the family’s image, where she must be and where she must not. You did good Hilde, excelled like the heiress I knew you were born to be. Now if it was Violet,’ he shivered. ‘I don’t even wanna talk about what would have happened in there.’
‘If I had failed…’ I shivered and hugged myself. ‘Can we go now? I feel anything but comfortable here…’
‘You didn’t get your jealous target picture,’ he said poutingly.
‘Yeah,’ I said disappointedly.
⚡ Hans’ standpoint ⚡
Next Day
I took off my coat and threw it at Naomi, I was at my parents’ as they called me over for a talk about something important.
‘Good afternoon Master Hans,’ she greeted.
‘Good, how have you been Naomi?’
‘Good, I have been good just like you.’
‘Where are my parents?’
‘In the library,’
‘And Dahlia?’
‘Master Wellington came over with his wife and they took Little Dahlia with them.’
‘Oh,’ I said disappointedly. ‘I wanted to see her,’ I looked down at what I bought for her, a little kangaroo like I have been promising her since she was three. For some reasons, she was a fan of boxing and she worsh¡ps kangaroos because to her, they are the gods of boxing. ‘Here,’ I handed the basket to her. ‘Help her raise her,’
‘But I know nothing about raising a kangaroo!’
‘Neither do I, learn.’ I ran towards the stairs.
‘Master Hans! Master Hans!’ He shouted distraughtly. I laughed as I ran up the stairs, I knew very well that she would be the one to suffer the care because Dahlia is just five.
‘Mother!’ I shouted, barging into the library. As expected, she was sitting on dad, a laughing smile on her face, an evidence to something funny he must have said. ‘Mom!’ I hugged her from behind, placing my chin on her left shoulder and hands too. She reached for my hand and held it as she laughed.
‘Hans, my second clingy boy. Why are all my sons so clingy?’
‘Because they want to separate us,’ dad said plainly. I chuckled.
‘You are the first son,’ mom chuckled.
‘I so much love her that I’m going to rip her off your thighs and place her on mine, that sounds good huh?’
‘Touch my wife and I’ll cut your head, get your own wife.’ He pulled mom to his chest and possessively wrapped his hands around her body. I frowned and glared at him.
‘You know she is no longer just yours, right?’
‘Of course she is mine,’ he growled. ‘She was my wife before she became your mother,’
‘Well too bad, she is already my mother and no longer just yours, now can you let her go? I want to hug her.’
‘This is my house and my wife, stop dragging my wife with me,’ he snapped.
‘Boys!’ Mom laughed, pushing herself away from him. ‘How many times will I warn you both to stop fighting over me? Hans, respect your father, he is the one that planted you in me, one who raised you and the one you look like…’
‘Unfortunately,’ dad and I murmured. Mom glared at both of us.
‘You are my son and he is my husband, no one is more important than either of you, okay? Although, I will choose my husband over you, he is the one to stay with me for the rest of my life and you will end up with someone else. Do you understand me love?’
‘Yes,’ I muttered.
‘But don’t worry, now you aren’t married yet, you are more important to me than your father…’
‘Hey!’
‘Sorry Alis,’ mom pouted, cupping her cheeks. I rolled my eyes away as she k-ssed him. I really need to get myself a girlfriend.
‘Mom, can I go home now?’ I whined. I looked back at them, they weren’t k-ssing anymore.
‘Sit down Hans, we need to talk,’ dad said briskly. I cleared my throat. Mom chuckled, understanding the meaning of my throat clearing. She lazily got off dad and sat beside him instead, placing her head on his chest and hands around his wa-ist.
‘Mom,’ I whined.
‘Hans, go sit down,’ she laughed. I huffed and went to sit down opposite them. ‘There is something we need to talk about and it concerns your future,’ she looked at me underneath her lashes. ‘I just want you to know that it is all your father’s fault, not mine.’
‘Hey!’
‘But it is your fault, you agreed,’ mom chided.
‘We both did, Meghan insisted and it was her last wish.’
‘Stop calling her by her name, she gave birth to your grandmother,’ mom frowned.
‘Well soooorry,’ dad said sarcastically. ‘Now where were we?’
‘You are…you… How would I put this?’ Mom asked herself.
‘Oh for Pete’s sake! Hans you have a fiancée, you’re betrothed to someone.’
‘Betrothed? What… Mom, what is he talking about? Betrothed?!’
‘Yes, remember your great great – was it five more great – grandmother Meghan?’ I nodded eagerly. ‘Before she died, she made us promise to betroth you to the successor of Tobias McMillan,’ mom smirked at me. My violently thumping heart suddenly cooled down, a sigh of relief left my mouth.
‘Iris?’
‘Her name is Hildegarde Syris McMillan now, your future wife…’
‘Why didn’t you tell me all along?! What if it was to someone else?!’ Dad shrugged.
‘That will be your problem then,’
‘Alisdair,’ mom whisper yelled, smacking his chest.
‘Should I be feeling sorry for him? I married you, didn’t I?’
‘You loved me! And you still do and plus…plus…plus… Wait, what are we talking about again?’
‘Oh God,’ I face palmed myself. They are never serious, always trailing off.
‘Alisdair, what were we talking about again?’
‘Betrothment,’
‘Oh yes, Hans I want you to forgive us and look at it from the good side, you like Iris, right?’ I nodded.
‘Good, now get out of my house, we were busy before you came…’
‘Alis!’ Mom squealed as dad pulled her back onto his laps, making her straddle him. ‘You naughty man,’ she purred, sliding her hands over his shoulders.
‘You beautiful bride of mine, you are always so beautiful… Hans, watch me make out with my wife…’ He said before he k-sses mother. Mom more than willingly k-sses him back, mo-ning into his mo-n. I rolled my eyes and stood up.
‘Yeah, I got Dahlia a kangaroo,’ I ran out immediately I said that.
‘Hans!!!’ Mom shouted. I laughed as I ran down the stairs, they both didn’t want her to get a pet like that but pretty much knew that once she saw one, they can never get rid of it. I ran into Uncle Odyn on the way, he was back with tired Dahlia.
‘Dahlia!’ She jolted up.
‘Hans?!’ Uncle Odyn almost fell as she flew into my arms. ‘My Iron man! I’ve missed you so much,’ she sobbed. ‘Why haven’t you checked on me?’
‘I bought you a kangaroo, she’s with Naomi…’ She gasped.
‘Love you!’ She pecked me on my l-ips and started wiggling. I dropped her down right as mom ran in. ‘Mom, Hans got me a kangaroo!’
‘Yes,’ she glared at me. ‘He did, didn’t he?’ I wiggled my brows at her.
‘Good luck caring for little Bloom,’ I wiggled my brows again. Uncle Odyn laughed.
‘I love that name, Bloom the kangaroo,’ he laughed. ‘Leila needs to hear this,’
‘Don’t you dare tell her or I’ll…’ Uncle Odyn ran out of the house laughing.
‘Odyn, come back here!’ Mom ran after him but made sure to smack my head before she left. Dahlia was now tugging at dad’s hand, begging him to help her up the stairs since she couldn’t climb on her own. Dad was surprisingly smiling.
‘Bloom is the name of the kangaroo?’
‘Like it?’
‘Love it,’ he laughed. ‘I’ll keep her.’
‘Yay! Love you daddy!’
Wait, is Iris aware of our betrothment?
💜 Iris’ standpoint 💜
Finally! The girls are coming?!
I stood at the airport like a balloon ready to explode, excitement was killing me, I needed to see them. Knight didn’t come with me because I didn’t want all the attention in the world and I still need to chill before Violet sees me. Then a loud shriek broke out, one that terrified me. The shriek was mixed with fright but mostly excitement and celebration or something. I averted my eyes to the reason of the scre-ms, of course. The girls were coming and the scre-ms was mostly because of Melody and Bluey. Hadley looked amazing and totally different from Lee, like the model she is.
The girls looked stunning, if I wasn’t the successor, I would have seen myself as their shoe cleaner. Hailey, Jesus Christ! What happened to her?! She was glowing like the sun, just like her mother. They both looked like that. I pulled my hood over my head and wore my shades, just in case. They were walking in unison, a smile on their faces as they laughed. Melody was busy waving at people while Lee had a cute little bunny in her arms.
Guess who was behind them? Eden.
‘Eden!’ I shouted. Eden ran to me, I spread my hands for him. He jumped into my arms and cupped my cheeks. ‘My little Hans,’ I hugged him tight, he still smelt like Hans. I sniffed him and mo-ned, I’ve missed Hans so much.
‘Are you going to marry the monkey or hug the besties?’ Hailey asked in a singsong.
‘Best!’ I dropped Eden and jumped on Hailey. She laughed and held me tight.
‘I’ve missed you,’
‘Me too,’
‘Hug!’ Lee jumped on us, throwing us three on the ground. Melody laughed as Bluey jumped on our body and laid on us. ‘Hey! I’m dead!’
‘Bluey! Get your cat butt off me before I die of broken boneterisic!’ Hailey shouted.
‘Eh?’ Melody, Lee and I asked.
‘What is eh? My bone is breaking,’
‘Boneterisic?’ Lee asked. ‘Gosh! When will your stupidity degrade!’
‘Don’t you dare insult me you tiny little c*ckroach of rotten privilege!’
‘Wow! We are triplets! Me c*ckroach, you c*ckroach, Hans c*ckroach, we all c*ckroaches, full stop.’
‘You and who?’ Hailey scoffed.
‘Me and you and Mel and eyeball…’
‘Who is eyeball?’ I laughed. ‘Me?’
‘Of course,’
‘Does anybody realise that we are still on the ground?!’ Hailey shouted. ‘Hadley, I blame you.’
‘Of course you will blame me, do you ever blame anyone else but yourself?’
‘You caused this!’
‘Yes Lee, you did,’ Mel chuckled.
‘Shut up Melody, who called you into our argument?’ Hailey snapped. I laughed at Mel’s face.
‘Bluey, let Iris go,’ Mel ordered.
‘What about me?’ Lee whined.
‘Who is you?’
‘I’m Hadley,’ she snapped.
‘You know who I blame, father, I blame his sp**m.’
Yup, they are back.
To be continued.
Finally back together! The girls are in the town!
