Traveling away from home and everyone that I love was heartbreaking 💔.. But it didn’t take too long to get over it when I got to Europe..
London was a great place.. The people were quite nice and the atmosphere was so lovely but the cold was a little bit too much though… After we had settled down, Charlene showed me around London, I had quite a good time with her.. She also introduced me to her European friends, despite their size and looks, I was surprised when I heard how old they were, I was older than them, they were just kids having bodies of adults.
Charlene also took me to her place of work… That’s right.. The makeup studio and it was insane and awesome, There were many makeup artists and they were all very good, I realized makeup wasn’t the only thing this guys did, they also made facial masks, real facial masks that people were in movies, I was really blown away by what I saw.
It was fun touring around London on the first week for my arrival but after that, I was preoccupied with my dance practice.. Before I went on tour with Charlene, she took me to Manchester where the competition would take place, I met with the officials and completed my registration, I showed them my pass 🎫, and they gave me a number.
After the tour, I was as busy as an ant 🐜, Day and night, I would go to a dance studio and practice and practice, until I got wasted… There wasn’t enough time for me to hang out and socialize, This competition is a very competitive one and most of my competitors were also practicing and honing their dances skills as well,…
Though I had no time to hangout, but I did make a new friend, Her name was Ming wu. Ming wu is a Chinese lady and as also among those that were going to compete in the dance competition. We met at the dance studio and got acquainted, before long we soon got along and became friends.

Unlike I and the rest of the dancers, Ming wasn’t interested in the big prize, The lady comes from a wealthy home back in China, the reason why she came to compete was to show people that the Chinese people too was capable from producing best dancers, I wondered what motivated her to make such a decision.
Ming wu was a very nice person but she has this same personality with Peter, always silent and keeping a serious face, Unlike Peter who was shy, her own quietness was because she doesn’t want to interfere in people’s business so she kept to herself. When we weren’t practising our dance moves, She and I would sit down and talk about a lot of things, there was this time when we decided to talk about guys.

Angelina ➡ So Ming.. Do you have a boyfriend?
.

Ming ➡ No.. Not really.
.

Angelina ➡ Why?
.

Ming ➡ Let me put it this way.. I’m having a hærd time to get a right guy… Most men this days are all after s-x.. It’s sickening.

Angelina ➡ Well, not all men.. My boyfriend.. Peter.. He’s different.
.

Ming ➡ Really? How long have you known each other?
.

Angelina ➡ Ever since we were kids.. I’ve been in love since the day I saw him.

Ming ➡ How sweet! So where is he now?
.

Angelina ➡ Back in Nigeria 🇳🇬.

Ming ➡ Hmm, I would like to see him.

Angelina ➡ Here let me show you his picture.

I brought out my phone and showed Ming Peter’s picture, after looking at it for a while, she handed me my phone back.

Ming ➡ He’s cute.

Angelina ➡ I know..
.

Ming ➡ Have you guys contacted each other lately?

Angelina ➡ Yes but not always.. You know how busy we are..
.

Ming ➡ Yes… You can’t afford any distractions but you should have broken up with him before you came here.

Angelina ➡ Why?? Why would I do something like that?

Ming ➡ Simple.. Long distant relationsh¡ps never work out.. There always seem to be complications, something bad always seem to happen.

I really didn’t care what Ming said.. I know she means well but her idea was just ridiculous.. And speaking of Peter, we barely contact each other because I always get tired and juiced out..
Here in London, I was given unlimited freedom unlike back at home in Nigeria, Here I could go anywhere and come back whenever I wanted, I could even spend the night somewhere and nobody would say a thing, Charlene’s parents.. ( Clarence and Martha).. were sure nice people and they were too occupied with work to keep an eye on Charlene and I… Charlene’s brother (Ernest) was also kind of a busy guy, so he wasn’t always around, so Charlene and I were left alone in the house.
The reason why I don’t like to stay at home with her is because she’s too distracting, she would sometimes invite her friends over to have a little party, sometimes, he invites her boyfriend Brad to have s-x with him.

One afternoon, I returned home back from the Dance studio to relax, I was exhausted and beat all over, as soon as I walked into the house, I saw Charlene and brad doing a doggie f-ck on the couch.

Angelina ➡ CHARLENE!?!

Charlene ➡ OMG! Angelina what’s your problem?
.

Angelina ➡ Seriously!? You guys should find a hotel…
.

Charlene ➡ Whatever go to your room.
.

I walked out on them and headed straight into my bedroom… That Charlene is such a sl-t… She shouldn’t be doing this in her parent’s house.. It’s insulting. After I got into my room and removed my clothes, I slumped onto my bed and slept off.
A while later, I was awoken by the sounds of laughter, as I opened my eyes, I saw Charlene and her friends talking, when they realized I was awake, They quickly changed their conversation.

Charlene ➡ Angelina… You’re awake.
.

Angelina ➡ What are you guys talking about?
.

Charlene ➡ Nothing… But the way… There’s a Chinese girl waiting for you downstairs…

Angelina ➡ Chinese?
.

Charlene ➡ Yes… Since when did you start hanging out with the yellow monkeys? (Laughs)
.

Angelina ➡ You’re crazy! They’re not monkeys.. You’re such a meanie.
.

Charlene ➡ Of course they are.. Can’t you see the way they jump in their movies?
.

I ignored Charlene and went down to meet Ming, I wonder how long she’s been waiting for me, as soon as I got to the living room, I saw Ming sitting on the couch watching news on the flat screen.

Angelina ➡ Ming! Sorry to have kept you waiting.
.

Ming ➡ It’s okay.. I wasn’t here very long… Your look alike and her friends kept me company.. Is she your sister?

Angelina ➡ She’s my cousin… Her name is Charlene.
.

Ming ➡ I see… I’m sorry to say this but your cousin is a b-tch. She’s so full of herself and she’s a bully.. She kept making funny remarks about my skin color.

Angelina ➡ I’m sorry she did that. Hope you’re not angry?
.

Ming ➡ No.. Anyways.. I heard her talking to her friends about your boyfriend.. She threatened that she was going to deal with him… Do they have history together?

Angelina ➡ Yeah. They loathe each other.. They’ve been quarreling with each other since we were kids.. I think their rivalry is eternal.

Ming ➡ What’s the cause of their quarrel!?

Angelina ➡ I have no idea.
.

Ming ➡ Well, you better warn your boyfriend though cause, your cousin sounded so serious.

Angelina ➡ Don’t worry… He’s in Nigeria.. There’s nothing she can do.
.

In that moment, Ernest entered into the house, he was exhausted and tired, as soon as he approached us, He fixed his eyes directly onto Ming.

Angelina ➡ Welcome back cousin.. How’s work?
…

Ernest ➡ Its.. its.. Fine..
.

Angelina ➡ Uh. This is my friend Ming wu and Ming.. This is mg cousin Ernest.
.

Ming ➡ Nice to meet you.
.

Ernest ➡ Me too.. Uh.. Do you live around here?
.

Ming ➡ No..I live in China.. But I’ll here for some weeks..
.

Ernest ➡ Okay… So would you mind if I took you out on a date, perhaps we can share some coffee ☕️, While we get more acquainted?

Ming ➡ Okay.. I’d love that.
.

I was surprised when I saw everything unfolding before my very eyes.. Ernest had already made a date with Ming, I could tell he was interested in her and so was Ming.. God! I love this kind of meeting.. Oh, how I wish Peter was here.. Ernest soon left us alone and went to his room.

Angelina ➡ What just happened?
.

Ming ➡ What?
.

Angelina ➡ You know what I mean.
.

Ming ➡ Well, he asked nicely and politely plus.. He was straight to the point, and so charming.

Angelina ➡ Ming! Well, I can’t blame you.
.

Ming ➡ Oh. I almost forgot.. There’ll be a live audience on the day of our competition, so you can invite your family.. Tickets are on sale.

Angelina ➡ Really?
.

Ming ➡ Sure.. You can even invite your boyfriend to come and watch.
.

Angelina ➡ Oh thank you God! Finally.. I’ll be able to see Peter after all.. Come esc-rt me let me purchase those tickets.

Later that day, I came back home with 5 tickets in hand, I had finally purchased them and they were quite expensive but it was worth it.. So that evening in my bedroom, I video called Peter, telling him about the good news, he was excited and said that he would show up.. I was tremendously thrilled that he was going to come watch the show.. The competition was days away and my Aunt Martha had been tabs on it.. That night she seized my phone cutting me off from all access to communicate with anyone… She had insisted that I used the remaining days to practice h-rder than ever, she gave my phone to Charlene to hold on for safe keeping until after the competition.
Since Peter was going to come, I decided to do my best and hopefully win the competition.. It would be a shame for him to come here and see me lose. Oh I can hærdly wait to see him.

Finally the day of the competition has finally arrived, The dance arena is parked with dozens of crowds, and each of the competitors prop themselves up and pray for the sweet taste of victory and the golden prize of 1.million dollars.

As soon as the sun goes down, The competition begins.. Many dancers of different countries display their dance moves to the amazement of the crowd, Each of them dances 💃 to the best of their abilities, some do it better than the others while some do something that has never been done before..
The crowd roar with jubilation as they watch the dancers do their stuff, The judges too watch with admiration and excitement in their eyes as they watch the dancers.

Angelina who’s turn is next prays to God before she goes into the arena.. As soon as her Brazilian competitor is done with his dance, She approaches the stage and faces the crowd waiting for the music to start, In that moment, her eyes hungrily search for her family members and of course Peter, whom she’s dying to see.. She later sees them amidst the crowd, she sees Peter’s parents but doesn’t see Peter who’s seat was empty.

She feels agitated at first but ensures herself that Peter is present since his parents are around.. Within seconds, the music starts and Angelina dances to the beat of music, She dances and dances doing several dances moves within minutes, The crowds amazed her dance skills cheer her on, their jubilation and ovation was much more bigger than the other competitors, Her friends and family watch on with admiration, feeling proud of her… Angelina continues dancing doing her thing until she surprises everyone by changing her dance moves, she does impossible stunts after the other astonishing the crowd even more, even her competitors couldn’t help but feel amazed by her dance moves… Time is running out and Angelina who’s aware of that decides to end her performance with a unstop twirl with one leg.. The crowds shouts out admirably as they see Angelina twirl unstop until her time is done, She finally stops and bows before the crowd and judges, who give her a thundering ovation.
After that, Angelina leaves the stage and quickly hurries to the toilet where she vomits 🤢.. After she’s done, she washes her face, and meets her family and friends backstage.

Alice ➡ Oh my Goodness Angelina.. I’m so proud of you.. You over did it..

Angelina ➡ Thanks mom.
.

Felix ➡ I’m proud of you..
.

Angelina ➡ Thanks dad.
.

Jessica ➡ Ah Angelina.. I thought you were going to break… You really over did it.
.

Angelina ➡ Thanks ma.. Uh.. Where’s Peter?
.

Upon hearing Angelina’s question, Jessica and Wright become quiet, Jessica drags her away and tells her the what happened.

Jessica ➡ I’m sorry Angelina.. He said he doesn’t want to come.
.

Angelina ➡ What?… Why?
.

Jessica ➡ I really don’t know.. He’s been acting strange the day after you sent those tickets.. I tried asking him if anything had happened between the two of you but he wouldn’t reply me.. He even traveled to Lagos for his new job as a producer without even telling us, he only wrote us a letter to let us know he was gone.. I’m sorry.

Angelina feeling heartbroken and torn apart, couldn’t believe what she just heard. Tears well up in her eyes but she quickly wipes them away..
Secretly watching from a distance, Charlene smiles to herself and whispers to herself * mission accomplished * and then excuses herself to meet Angelina.

Charlene ➡ Hey cousin.. What’s wrong?
.

Angelina ➡ Nothing..
.

Charlene ➡ Say… Where’s Peter? Oh.. Evening ma
.

Jessica ➡ (scatter brained b-tch) Evening my dear.
.

Charlene ➡ I haven’t seen Peter.. Where is he?
.

Jessica ➡ He’s in Nigeria.
.

Charlene ➡ What? He didn’t show up..
.

Jessica ➡ Unfortunately yes..
.

Angelina ignores Charlene and snatches her phone from her hands, She dials Peter’s number, but he refuses to pick, after dialing unstop, She collects Jessica’s phone and dials his number, after a while he answers the call.

Peter ➡ Hello mom..
.

Angelina ➡ Peter.. It’s me Angelina.. I was…
.

Before she could finish, Peter cuts off the call,… Shocked and confused, Angelina calls him again several times but he refuses to pick.

Unable to bear it anymore, Angelina leaves the place with tears in her eyes.. But before she could disappear, Ming s₱0ts her and asks her what’s wrong.

Ming ➡ Angelina.. What’s wrong?
.

Angelina ➡ I can’t talk right now!
.

Ming ➡ Well, better come upstage the judges are about to announce the winner.. Come on.
.

Ming drags Angelina to the stage where all the other competitors have gathered, They all stood waiting to hear the results, while each of the competitors were eagerly waiting for the result, Angelina feels sad and empty.. Even when the Judges announced her as the winner, she didn’t stir or show any excitement.. She was pushed out by Ming to collect her grand prize.
As Angelina stood holding the big check of her prize together with the judges, she begins to cry silently as tears fall from her eyes uncontrollably, The crowd cheer for her thinking she was crying tears of joy not knowing they were tears of agony, heartbeat and disappointment.
