Episode 13.
Patrick drove Lily to a quiet place where she sluggishly came out of the car and the driver took off.
“So why are we here? She asked.
“I just want a quiet place so we can talk, he said and sat under a shade while Lily looked at him for a while.
“What exactly are we talking about? She asked.
“Aren’t you going to sit down? He asked.
“To listen to your lies? Don’t worry just start talking, Lily snapped and folded her hands while he stood up.
“Can you please sit down, am begging you, he said and was about to hold her hand but she walked away and sat down on her own. He breathed in and sat down with her, “how are you Lily? He asked.
“As you can see I’m fine, she replied.
“Yes, I saw that when I returned, he said.
“I see, so how is she? I mean the lady you eloped with, Lily said.
“Lady I eloped with? Patrick asked surprised.
“Ah please don’t give me that look, too bad I didn’t get to meet her, Lily said.
“What exactly are you talking about? Patrick asked.
“You don’t know what am talking about huh? Or you don’t know the lady you smooched at the club and eloped with, what exactly do you not know? Lily shouted.
“You’re saying strange things Lily, I can’t remember doing that, Patrick said and a tear dropped from her eyes.
“I need to go now, Lily said and attempted to get up but he held her back.
‘I want to understand what happened between us and how the smooching of lady came to be, Patrick said.
“Let go of me, why not start with explaining what made you elope without me knowing, I want to understand that too, Lily said and Patrick bowed his head saying nothing.
“What? You can’t explain right? Then we have nothing to talk about, Lily said and got up.
“Lily wait, He said getting up too.
“You shouldn’t have returned in the first place, just stay clear from me, Lily said and left while Patrick sat weakly thinking hærd.
She couldn’t go the mall anymore but went home instead. Winifred noticed her mood and saw she was just at the edge of crying, “what happened? Winifred asks getting up from where she laid and held her, just as she thought Lily just cried freely on her shoulders.
“Is it about Joseph again? Winifred confusedly asked.
“I met Patrick, she replied.
“And? Winifred curiously asked.
“He couldn’t tell me anything reasonable, he was even lying to my face. Did he showed himself to me to punish me? Why did he come back in the first place? I hate him! Lily shouted.
“Its ok please calm down. What were you expecting to hear from him? Winifred asked.
“Why he hurt me that badly and left without dropping a word to me. Does he know how I feel when i saw him today after waiting for months wishing he’ll return but he never did. Why now? Lily asked.
“Its alright, you have emotionally stressed yourself enough today. First it was Joseph, now its Patrick, you need to rest so you’ll have the strength to face the next, Winifred said with a smirk.
“Thanks for the mockery, Lily said.
“At least it makes you feel better, Winifred said smiling.
“Just get out, Lily said and sniffed cleaning her tears.
“Calm down okay, you’ll break down girlfriend. Take it easy, I’ll get you your food, Winifred said patting Lily’s hair and left to the kitchen……
Winifred phone beeped and it was a message from Oliver, “I’ll be traveling and I don’t know when I’ll return. Please don’t wait for me and take good care of yourself… Oliver”
Winifred couldn’t believe her eyes as she felt her heart pounding abnormally.
“What’s wrong, Lily noticed her despair.
“Ermm can you imagine, the subscription I just did is finished, just like that! Winifred said and Lily hissed covering her face on the pillow.
“Fine thank you, Winifred said with a frown and left the house.
She quickly called up Oliver and after 2 rings he picked up.
“What do you mean? She asked trying hærd to calm herself.
“Sorry Winifred but i have to go. A lot have been damaged already and I don’t want my life or that of Cindy to be included. I’ll be starting afresh else where, do same with yours. Get to know Joseph better, he is the monster that loves you dearly………. “Stop this! Just stop okay! What the hell are you talking about? Why are you doing this to me? Winifred asked with tears streaming out freely.
“This has to be done, I’m so sorry Winifred and its been nice knowing you, Oliver said and dropped the call before she could say anything.
“Oh my God, this can’t be happening. No! Winifred shouted holding her head in pain as she felt her heart ripping off in pieces.
Lily call came on her phone severally and Winifred had no choice than to go home where she sat to call Oliver.
She walked in like a demented soul and Lily only gasped looking at her with her mouth open, “did the service provider beat you up? Lily asked when Winifred just fell on the bed saying nothing to her.
“Winifred talk to me please, how much is the subscription I’ll get it replaced immediately, Lily said shaking her but tears was all that responded to her.
“Everything that has been replaced has always been snatched from me, just let it be this way, I’ll still survive this anyway, Winifred said and broke down crying.
“Oh no, I sincerely don’t understand what you’re saying, but whatever you’re going through now, I’m here for you okay. Please stop its okay, Lily said hugging her on bed trying hærd to fight her own tears from falling.
After the encounter of Joseph, Oliver took Cindy to his parents place who resided far away town.
“Who is she? His mom asked and he carefully told her everything.
“Please don’t leave me, Cindy said in tears when he was about leaving.
“Honey I won’t, they will take good care of you like they did to me. I’m going back to find a more better place, when am done I’ll pick you up I promise, Oliver said.
“I can help you look for the place, please don’t leave me, Cindy cried.
“I’ll be visiting you okay, but you need to stay here. hotel isn’t a place for kids, and I’ll get a more beautiful place for us okay, Oliver said and pecked her putting her in the hand of his mother.
“Uncle please! Cindy shouted in tears but he only waved and drove off.
“Sorry Cindy, I can’t let any harm come your way again until this Joseph guy will be gone for good, Oliver said while driving and his phone beeped, he checked and saw a message from Winifred;
“I have no right to be angry, I’m just hurt I’ve lost a good friend again. I appreciate all you’ve done though I wasn’t given a chance to express it, but am grateful. Take care….. Winifred”
He read and sighed in despair, “am so sorry but I have to do this for you. I need to do everything possible to make Joseph relax and comfortable, and that will happen when i make you believe that am gone too. We have to make it a secret now to make things fast, until we succeed, then we’ll meet again Winifred, he said in his heart and arrived at Alfred house.
“My guy is single again, Alfred said shaking hands with him when he came out from the car.
“I just made the two important ladies in my life cry, I feel so angry right now, Oliver frustratedly said.
‘I know, but you have to do it. Guess what? Alfred said as they got in.
“What? Oliver asked.
“The private investigator finally gave us what we’ve been looking for, which is the address of that dude. Mhen the place is f-cking fine! Did he do all of that for Winifred? Alfred asked and Oliver sighed.
“No doubt he sincerely loves that girl, but that doesn’t give him the right to make her suffer. And i won’t love her to end up with that dude too, that guy is crazy and can hurt her in the slightest provocation, Oliver said.
“OK, so what next? Because the investigator said, security is tighttttttttttt, and guess who Joseph is? Alfred asked.
“Who? Oliver asked and Alfred whispered into his ears which got Oliver shocked.
“What!! Winifred isn’t safe then! Oliver shouted taking his car keys but Alfred held him.
“What do you think you are doing? He asked.
“Take the ladies away from him, Oliver said and Alfred scoffed.
“Smart guy, like he’s not gonna find them huh?
Look, we are investigating more, chill okay he won’t hurt them, at least not yet, Alfred said beating oliver on the chest.
“Gosh, I think i need champagne to cool me down now, Oliver said taking the bottle gulping it at once breathing hærd……….
