A black GX350 of LEXUS vehicle drove into the hospital premises and parked in the parking lot, the door opened and the pastor hopped down. He slammed the door and hastily advanced toward the main building.
He entered in,side and found Joy sitting in the visitor’s space. All soaked up in tears and sweating with her eyes closed weakly.
Looking at her Paley face, he knew she must’ve had a very exhausting cry.
He skipped talking to her to avoid getting her crying again and went in search of the doctor.
“Good day doctor.” He greeted as he entered a room that was shown to him by a nurse.
The doctor was Busy observing Steve’s unmoving body with his arms placed akimbo.
“Welcome sir, who are you to him?” The doctor asked.
“I’m his pastor, please is he alright?” The pastor asked observing Steve closely.
“Erhm, actually, what he needs now is prayer, the fatality is very serious, only God can deliver him from this situation.” the doctor explained sadly.
“God will surely deliver him, that’s my assurance, but please doctor, I need you to employ your best in this matter, y’know God works through men.” the pastor pleaded.
“One thing I’m assuring you is that I will give my best, but there’s absolutely nothing my best can do in this matter without God’s intervention.” the doctor admitted.
The pastor was very impressed after hearing that from him.
“You’re also a minister?” he asked.
“Not really, but I do esteem Godly activities. “The doctor answered and smiled slightly.
“What’s the name of your church?” The pastor asked.
“Well, I currently do not have a specific church that I attend. I mostly visit different churches for prayer. You know there’s a saying that eating one meal every day makes even the tasty delicious meal lose savory in the eater’s tongue. “The doctor quoted.
“Hmmm, you have a point there but you should have a specific place of worsh¡p. ”
” Why do you say so? ”
“You know, Going from one church to the other for prayer is not really an issue, but being able to locate the legit ones is the ma issue, just as it is written in the scripture: there are so many wolves in sheep’s clothing these days.”
” Hmmm, I think you have a point there. “The doctor commended.
They were still conversing when Steve suddenly breathed heavily and they all became terrified. The doctor quickly used the stethoscope on him. His face saddened immediately after checking the heartbeat with the stethoscope.
“Talk to me, what’s happening?” The pastor asked worriedly.
“Actually, pastor, the only remedy right now is prayer, he’s no longer breathing. ”
” Jesus Christ!

Right in,side the hospital, room 5 precisely; Steve could be seen walking around the room being guarded by his beautiful wife.
“I would like to try walking by myself,” Steve announced.
“It’s good, but, don’t you think it’s too early?” Joy asked with concern.
“It’s still early? I have spent not less than a month here and you’re still saying it’s too early. Please, my love, allow me to give it a try.” Steve requested pleadingly.
Joy was still not comfortable with the Idea, she heaved and said,
“It’s not like I don’t want you to, just that I don’t think I would be able to take it if anything happens to you again.”
“Don’t worry my love, even the doctor is in support of this, he told me to be trying to walk by myself from time to time till I’m fully fit.”
“Alright then, go ahead. ”
Joy slowly Freed her arm from Steve’s shoulder and stood by the corner.
Immediately she left him to stand on his own, he tightened his eyes and gnashed in pain.
“Argh!” He s¢ræmed as he raised a leg to walk. The pain he felt was so severe that his legs shook vigorously.
When he tried to take the second step, he couldn’t hold it anymore. He lost balance as his legs couldn’t Carry the weight of his body again. He was just going to crash on the tiled floor but thank goodness, a virtuous woman was there. She was swift enough to catch him halfway to the floor. Even though his weight was trying to prevent her from the rescue mission, she stood still and applied all her strength.
They struggled till Steve finally settled on the edge of the bed and broke down in tears.
“What’s the problem? Are you hurt, are the wounds aching you? Let me call the doctor. ”
Joy stood up and was going to call the doctor but Steve held her by the wrist.
”
Don’t worry, I’m ok. ”
“No you’re not ok, if you’re ok, why then are you crying? “.
With a quavering voice, Steve answered, “I’m just wondering what I ever did to deserve a gold like you, I haven’t regretted a single day of making you my wife, thank you very much for coming into my life. ”
His words made joy emotional and tears immediately welled up in her eyes.
“I don’t even know what to say but one thing I’m always sure of is that you’re more than silver and gold to me, diamonds and even rubies can never be matched what you are to me.
You picked me up from the darkest dungeon where pains, anguishes, and sorrows ruled my day and made me the happiest person on earth, I can’t even thank you enough.”
They hugged tightly and sobbed on each other’s shoulders.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
A knock came on the door making them quickly disengage from each other, joy used a kerchief to wipe off tears from Steve’s face and hers too before getting up to open the door.
As she opened the door, the pastor stood at the entrance. “Good evening sir.” Joy greeted and feigned a smile shifting for him to enter. ”
” How are you doing? The pastor asked.
“I’m fine sir.” Joy answered, closed back the door, and bolted it.
“What a nice surprise! Good evening sir” Steve exclaimed and greeted with a borrowed smile.
“How are you feeling today bro Steve?” The pastor asked.
“Getting better, I just can’t wait to leave this place” Steve replied with a sad tone.
“Don’t worry, the doctor said you’d be good to go before a month from now. “The pastor encouraged.
” Oh my goodness, you mean I’m going to spend another month which is approximately 2 months in this hospital? “Steve queried worriedly.
“You know you sustained lots of injuries that will take some time for it to completely heal. “The pastor reminded.
“I know but my problem is the safety of my household, as Musa my gateman has been terminated, who knows what will be the fate of my wife, the children, and my mother-in-law too? “Steve pointed out in fear.
“what happens to the earth shelter in your house which was even what saved your mother-in-law and children from the assassins that day? “The pastor asked.
” I’m just no longer comfortable with them staying there, those people can be very dangerous, they might dig out the secret hideout in my house and that would be the end of everything.”Steve elucidated worriedly.
” Alright then, they’ll be staying with me till you’re discharged from the hospital.”
“Thank you very much, sir, I really appreciate it.”

Steve was walking down this lonely hallway. There was this weird breeze that kept fluttering his shirt.
He wanted to get out of the place as quickly as possible through the exit that was upfront but a figure stepped in with a gun in his hand.
He looked closely and discovered it was Chris, fear took grip of his heart, and he slowly walked backward as Chris also approached him in slow motion.
His back hit the wall and that was when he realized there was no other exit save the one behind Chris.
His leg shook vigorously as the rate of his fear jumped from primary to high institutional level.
“What do you want?” He asked and his voice echoed multiple times.
Chris didn’t say a word, he just kept advancing till he was very close to Steve.
He raised the gun and aimed directly at Steve.
“You made away with my twins and think you are going Scot-free.”
” Please, don’t k*ll me, I’m ready to give them back to you. “Steve pleaded shakingly.
” It’s too late,
I’M SORRY BUT THIS IS THE ONLY REMEDY ”
Chris cocked the gun and pulled the trigger, the bullet was just going to pierce into Steve’s chest when he jumped out of the bed.
“Jesus Jesus .” He held his heart and breathed uncontrollably.
“My love, what’s the problem?” Joy rushed into the room.
“I’m returning the twins to Chris with immediate effect and that’s my final decision,” Steve announced with a strong voice.
“Which Chris? The one that is already dead or are you going to return them to his grave?”
Steve was terrified when joy said that.
” Chris! Dead? How did you know? He queried confusedly.
Well, the news is currently being broadcasted which is what I was coming to tell you, let’s go quickly before the broadcast ends.

The ex-governor Christian Chukwu who was impeached for lack of good governance last week has committed suicide, the reason for his action remains unknown as he spoke to no one before doing it, though many witnesses testified that he might have been depressed after being impeached.
News gathered that he also murdered his friend who was simply identified as Jackson for not being a good friend.
The late governor’s wife was also learned to be 2 months pregnant after 4 years of their union without a child.

*Steve didn’t suffer much loss from his burnt warehouse as he received 95% compensation from the insurance company. He lived happily with his household as nothing else disturbed his peace again to date.
*After 9 months, Veronica, the late Chris’ wife delivered two babies and they happened to be a boy and a girl.
She named the boy Patience and the second, she named Endurance.
