if someone had told me that I’ll come to the sport’s field to cheer Viktor, I’ll have beaten the life out of such person.
But here I am! Watching him play
I started noticing things that I didn’t notice before about him.
The way he outshines all the other players, he is an extremely talented footballer, he is incredibly fast and he plays with skill and precision, he dribbles
the players that were trying to hijack the ball from him, he turns them into fools and they end up knocking thier heads together.
Even though I don’t really like football, Viktor is fun to watch.
He kicks the ball into the net and I don’t know when I stood up and join the crew of girls cheering him. Swinging my hands in a wild frenzy
” goal ball!!!!!
My eyes falls on Keith and there was something about his gaze that made me feel bad for cheering Viktor
Why did that piercing cobalt brown eyes make me drop my hand!
Because he is the goal keeper and Viktor just succeeded in scoring a goal from him! That’s why.
Gosh! What kind of a person am I, Keith is my friend and I’m cheering Viktor!!
I’ve noticed that Keith doesn’t really play, he is a kind of person that prefers to hide in the background, I think that was what attracted me to him at first
I had felt the need to figure him out, to know the kind of person underneath that cold exterior
But now..
Immediately the match ended, the players dispersed, Keith was trying to leave the field and I saw him and Viktor talking, I can’t even hear what they said but the next thing I knew, Keith punches Viktor in the face
” it’s you that should stay away from her! You bloody bastard!!!”
He grabs Viktor’s shirt and Viktor punches him in the stomach
” you’re just jealous buddy, you’re jealous!! She’s never going to date someone like you!!! ”
My mind was trying to explode from the sheer insanity of everything, Keith and Viktor are fighting because of the same girl.
All the emotions I have been trying to supress came rushing back, I don’t know what hurts the most, watching Viktor fighting about a girl?
Watching Keith fighting about a girl?
Or watching the two of them fighting about the same girl.
How could I have been thinking that Viktor cares about me, cameras started flashing, I know it will probably make the headlines at school tomorrow, I don’t care!! No! That’s an outright lie, I care too much that I can’t dare to watch them for more than a second.
I storm out of the field, how could I have fooled myself that the hottest guy in school will suddenly pick an interest in me, what’s so special about me, I’m not as pretty and curvy as other girls in school, my parents aren’t rich..
How can I be such a fool!!
Those two should kill themselves over a girl, I don’t freaking care
But why do I feel this overwhelming pain in my heart, why do I feel like crying

I step out of the school gate, and my eyes settles on Sasha.
It’s payback time
Her face becomes pale when she sees me and she drops the hoe in fright
” please don’t hurt me, I’m sorry Erica!! I really am, please if it’s money you need, I’ll give you, pleeeaseee don’t hurt me ”
She pleaded breathlessly
That’s when I noticed how pathetic she really is, if she didn’t say she is going to give me money, maybe I would have had a little pity on her
” you think I’m so poor that you can stop me with money!!!!!”
” oh God! Noooooooo! I didn’t say that!!!! ”
” so you’re telling me that I am deaf!!!!!”
I was surprised when her shoulders slumped wearing and she started sobbing silently
She raised up her teary eyes and I notice the wound on her face, her sunken cheekbones
Erica don’t be fooled!!
It may be another make up effect!
Her body shook visibly and her words came out in a harsh gro-n
” he likes you…. Even after everything I did.. He still likes you…. ”
” who!!”
I was compelled to ask
” didn’t you know! Keith Merrick! He likes you!!! ”
She said and started tearing up again
I don’t know how long I stood with my mouth hanging open
Keith Merrick likes me!!!!!!
I huffed in denial!!
Of course it’s a lie
If he likes me, he and Viktor wouldn’t be fighting over some girl
All of a sudden, I saw Keith and Viktor, trowing punches at each other even as they walk out of the school gate
” na your generation go suffer ”
Keith growled
” my father has an hospital, my mother has an hospital, what does your family have ?”
Viktor boasted, his nose was bleeding and Keith’s face isn’t looking so nice either
Why can’t a teacher separate them!
Then I remember that all the staffs are in a meeting
” Erica please come and tell this guy that you have a boyfriend already so he can stop behaving like a wild animal ‘
Viktor yells!!!
Keith loosens his hold on Viktor and he was staring right at me with that same look that I haven’t been able to understand
” Erica is it true! Is it true that you’re dating him….
If they’re fighting about a girl then why are on earth are they…
Oh my God,!
I gasp in shock when realization dawned!!
It’s me!!
The girl they are fighting over is me!!
” Erica please tell me you’re not dating him ”
Keith said
” Erica Abeg tell this idiot to pack and go!”
Viktor said
” Keith! Do you like me…”
I whispered tentatively, ignoring the violent look on Viktor’s face
” of course I do ”
He said
” then why didn’t you tell me ”
Why couldn’t he tell me, if he had told me sooner then I’ll… Probably I would never have developed feelings for Viktor
” because I… because I didn’t want to like you, but now I realized that if I don’t tell you how I feel, I’m going to lose you to him, I don’t even know if I’ve lost you already ”
His words were laced with pain
” Erica please don’t let him fool you, don’t let anything come between our relationsh¡p ”
I didn’t know when I raised my voice at him
” Viktor! Please keep quiet! I need time to gather my thoughts, there’s no relationsh¡p between us ”
His face fell
” there isn’t? ”
” I’m sorry Viktor! I’m sorry Keith but I need time to make a decision!! I don’t want to hurt either of you and I… I’m sorry ”
I was about to walk away when Keith holds my hand
” Erica, take all the time you need, even if it’s a week, I’ll be here waiting ”
He said
” Erica please don’t choose him over me, I’ll wait for your decision”
Viktor said
Thier words were all a jumble and my mind was whirling with different things
Keith was the first guy that have ever made me feel things, I can’t explain my instant magnetic pull to him, most importantly he is my friend
My eyes settles on Viktor, his handsome face is now a mess, if there’s anyone that has always been there for me it’s Viktor, I can’t count the number of times that he has saved my ass.
I have a week to make up my mind,
Sasha made no attempt to clear the weed, she was still crying and I don’t need anyone to tell me that it’s because of Keith, Tori and Shanaya approaches me, Tori’s eyes were sad
” he is fighting because of you….
She said and her voice trails off, I know she is talking about Viktor
Why the hell did my life get so damn complicated?
