You know there are some things in life you just have to do to set things right and you’d have a make the right choice to do so.. But in my situation… The choices I was about to make would change my life in a way I wouldn’t expect.
As I heard those options of the supreme witch, I fell on my knees and begin to Shed tears.. I don’t usually cry just like that but this time it was different… The choices I was given would make me lose something I love the most… And either one I choose, I still lose..
Christen is the girl I want and she’s the love of my life… No girl will ever steal my heart like the way Christen did.. And spending the rest of my life with her wouldn’t be a bad idea… But the thought of letting her go wasn’t going to work… The last time she was gone, I couldn’t stop thinking about her… I was restless.. My mind was In a state of agitation until I saw her.. Despite the fact she’s a witch, her mind is pure with kindness and love.. She may look arrogant or pompous on the outside but once you get to know her, you’ll know she’s not like that… And I could clearly remember the times we spend together.. How could I forget about that… I just can’t forget about her or let her go.. Never..
But there’s another problem… My family and friends,.. Dad, mom, Riley, Khalid, Tina… There are also part of my life even long before I knew Christen… I’ve had good times with each and every one of them..
Dad wasn’t always around but he was a good and loving father… He left his work all the way from Abuja just to see me when I was hurt, and my mom, she’s the best woman and mother ever.. Always praying and advising us to be good people.. She might be quite disturbing a times with her religious stuff but she was looking out of us.. My brother Riley might pretend he doesn’t care but he does and besides.. Though we argue and don’t seem to be on the same page when it comes to some things.. We get along fine.. And my loyal friends Khalid and Tina… They’ve had my back since we first met at the registration office in campus… They were close since then… I’ve had a good life… Before I met Christen, she only made it a little bit better when we hooked up but throwing my past away and abandoning the people I love and the world I live in… Is just selfish and cruel… If I leave like this.. Everyone back at home will be worried especially Mom.. I can’t sit here and enjoy life with Christen knowing that my mom is in a state of worry and agitation… I can’t do that.. My mom has been with me my wh0le life.. She’s loved me and taken care of me like every mom should, leaving her like that would just be like that I never cared or appreciated what she did for me… No… I can’t..
This options were tough but I have to make things right… I stood up and looked at Christen… She was looking at me with keen interest… Just looking at her made me rethink what I was about to do… I stood again for a while without saying anything… While I was stuck in my mind… Solomon began to talk to me.

Solomon ➡ Everything okay Riley?

Riley ➡ No… In fact, I don’t even know what to do?

Solomon ➡ I understand the situation you’re in but you already know the right choice.. There are something in life that you can’t just reach.. I’m sorry boy..

That’s when she knew what was going to happen.. I was hoping to see her angry and sad but instead, she smiled and shed some tears.. She shook her head slightly urging me to make my decision…
I took a deep breath and came forward and told council about my decision.

Riley ➡ Sorry for making you people wait, I’ve been doing some thinking… And I’ve come to my decision… I chose option 2, I want to return to my family… Thought it pains me much to depart with Christen like this… I can’t just forget and abandon the people that I’ve spent my life with.

Orisaye ➡ So you’d sacrifice you love with Christen to be with your family….. That was a good choice… I respect that… Of all the humans I’ve encountered, you’re the only courageous and selfless one I’ve met.. I’m sorry things ended up like this for you. I walked up to Christen holding her hands.. I wanted to apologize to her but she placed her finger on my l-ips.. After that, she hugged me tight and gave me a loving sensual k-ss… I couldn’t say no to that cause that was going to be my last k-ss with Christen.. Everyone stared at us as we did that.. After a few minutes, we stopped and Christen said her mind.

Christen ➡ Don’t apologize… I’m glad you made that choice… I too would feel bad for you to leave your family especially your mom.. I wish we had more time like this… I’m sorry..

Riley ➡ I’m sorry too… Know that I’ll always love you…

Christen ➡ I know…you’ll always be in my heart forever…

We k-ssed again one last time before we broke apart. .. After that i went to the Supreme witch’s place and stood in her front.. She stood up and opened her arms and then all of a sudden, her eyes glowed bright white, I wanted to move back but I realized I was stuck.. Under my feet was a bright white light circle… The circle shone brighter under me covering me in its light… I was starting to get afraid but i stood my ground.. Just then I began seeing images of Christen in my subconscious… And it was disappearing so fast, The images started from the day I first saw Christen.. It was like I was seeing the days i spent with her again but this time Christen’s image was vanishing out of my memory completely… Before long everything about Christen and what she’s taught me.. Everything that involves her had disappeared and after that, It was lights out… Everything was dark.

Evening had approached the city of Ibadan, the day was gradually coming to an end its occup-nts were rounding up their businesses to get home… Before long darkness had covered the skies and soon everywhere was quiet…
During that silent hour… Riley wakes up alone under the iroko tree, he sits up rubbing his eyes wondering where he was, he looks around trying to figure out how he got here but the more he tried the less he knew…
After a while, he staggers up slowly and walks away, His mind was full of thoughts about why he was here… Soon he finds his way home and enters into the house…
As he enters, his mom intercepts him asking where he was coming from.

Sara ➡ Riley.. For Gods sake, where have you been?

Riley ➡ Oh sorry mom.. I really can’t remember… I just woke up underneath a tree..

Sara ➡ Under a tree… Are you sure you’re not dreaming… Come in,side.. Its night alright.. You should know better than staying out in the night.

Riley goes up to his room and lies down on his bed.. He brings out his phone to check what time it is as he does that, he taps on his phones gallery.. And he sees his picture together with Christen, he begins to wonder who she is and why her picture is here but just then, her picture vanishes from the phone.. He sits up abruptly surprised by what he saw.. He swipes through his pictures to see if Christen’s picture was there but every picture he took with Christen was empty her picture wasn’t there it had all disappeared at the same time with the first one…
Suddenly, Riley begins to feel a little hazy and within seconds he slumps back to bed and falls asleep.
Hours late, the next morning…. Riley wakes up feeling tired and weary.. He sits on his bed as he rubs his face… Just then he sees his brother Lionel laughing..

Riley ➡ What’s funny?

Lionel ➡ Funny thing is.. Why are you posing like a mad man… See how you’re stretching out your hands as if you’re holding someone… And see how you’re puckering up your l-ips as if you’re k-ssing someone.. Guy.. Which kind of pose is this?.

Lionel shows Riley his phone and he sees the pictures.. Riley who’s surprised begins to wonder how he took these pictures… He couldn’t even remember what had happened last night… As he was glancing through his pictures… His mom walks in holding his journal…

Sara ➡ Riley… We need to talk..

Riley ➡Whats wrong?

Sara ➡ How many times have i told you not to involve yourself with this satanic stuff.. And who is Christen?

Riley ➡ I don’t know her.. Besides i don’t what you’re talking about..

Sara ➡ This is your book and your handwriting, isn’t it?

Riley listens as his mom reads out the content of the book, Lionel laughs so hærd as he heard he too was involved in the story… Riley who is shocked, was speechless to say anything. He still didn’t remember himself writing something like that.

Sara ➡ So what do you have to say? Because this is just… Crazy..

Riley ➡ Mom.. I swear to you I don’t remember…

Lionel ➡ Mom relax… Maybe he was writing a novel,… Because.. All what I heard is just too unbelievable… Can you imagine.. Me sleeping with a witch? I dey craze?. 😂

Sara ➡ Lionel is right… This is just too unbelievable… Don’t let anyone see this book else you’ll think you’re mad.

Lionel ➡ He’s on the road already… (Laughs)

Sara hands over Riley his book and goes out of the room, Lionel too follows her shortly after… Riley sits alone in the room glancing over his book… He still couldn’t believe he can’t remember writing something like this… After reading it, he drops the book and slumps back to his bed wondering why and how this was all happening.. Minutes later, he checks his phone and sees the time.. He gets out of bed and leaves the room.

After Riley was gone… I was back to my former plain boring life… I wasn’t the same ever since Riley left… I would stay in my room crying day and night…. Aunt Jezebel and my grandma would try to cheer me up but it was of no use… I would have liked it if I was told not to talk or see Riley but to erase his memory of me and the things we went through together was just… Painful. Even if I was to get chance to talk to him.. He wouldn’t remember me no matter how hærd I tried.
The Supreme witch didn’t stop at Riley alone.. She made powerful spell on the city of Ibadan wiping out the memories of those who had contact with me.. Everyone.. After that, she destroyed the totems of the gods and dispelled the curse of Lucas upon the people.
A few days after that, I resumed back to school, As I expected everyone forgot who I was except the only thing they remembered about me was the first thought they had about me when I first came to the school.. That’s right.. The snobby girl who thinks she’s better than everyone…. The name Sorceress continued to follow me.. So I decided to bounce back to how I was at the begin. Silent and minding my business…. I had met with Riley and his friends numerous times but they didn’t remember me.. To them I was a stranger.. Even in class I sat together with Riley but he still didn’t remember.. I wanted to talk to him but Solomon would prevent me from doing that.. Reminding me of what would happen if The Supreme witch found out I was trying to communicate with Riley.
It took a while but I finally got over Riley.. But I would never forget him.. Ever.

Months later, Our stay in campus was finally over.. We had written over exams and most of us passed among those that passed was Riley who was best student in the faculty.. Weeks after that, The Convocation ceremony 🎓 was taking place at the campus and the graduating set were been awarded with their degree.. I didn’t show up because I didn’t want to and besides I could get my degree anytime I wanted but I did show up at the event standing from safe distance watching.. The main reason why I showed up was so because I could see Riley.. I stayed and watched as he was awarded with his our first class degree and the guy was so happy.. His family was there and they were happy about his achievement..
After that the students started celebrating and taking pictures with their family and friends.. So I went down there and decided to congratulate Riley and say to him one last good bye..
As soon as he was alone with his friends .. I went over to him. He was looking at me as I approached him.

Christen ➡ Hey Riley..

Riley ➡ Hey.. You’re the girl from our class right? I’ve seen you..

Christen ➡ Yeah.. Its me… Congratulations on your degree..

Riley lwft in a hurry to get his camera but as soon as he left.. I disappeared immediately from the place.. after that I stood far away from the crowd watching them.. I saw return to where we were asking people if they had seen me..
I feel hurt leaving leaving Riley like that, tears soon welled up in my eyes.. In that moment Solomon appeared before me.

Solomon ➡ You know what you did could have gotten you into trouble right?

Christen ➡ I just couldn’t resist talking to him even if it’s going to be for the last time… I really do miss him.

Solomon ➡ I too miss him… But nothing can be done… So what now?

Christen ➡ I don’t know… But I need to leave this place before I got torn part emotionally…

After a while, I decided to stick around and look at Riley one last time… Because I’m not sure if I’m going to stay here in the human world for long before I’ll be an emotional wreck if I see Riley’s face again… The best thing for me to is to go back to the witch world and continue living my life.. I stayed there until Riley and his family were gone.. After that, I turned around and teleported myself back to where I belong.
