I greeted her and she gave me unpleasant look.
“How long have you been standing here?
She asked and Carlos came out.
“I need to comport myself to avoid any suspicious thing.
I thought.
“I just arrived now”
I said.
“Okay”
“Is there any problem?
I asked.
“Not at all”
She said and went downstairs.
“Baby you didn’t tell me that you are coming”
He said.
“I wanted to give you a surprise visit or is it bad to surprise you?
I asked.
“No! I love surprises come in,side”
He said.
I went in,side and sat on the bed,he sat beside me.
“What should I offer you?
He asked.
“Nothing,you don’t need to ask is not as if is my first time of coming to your house besides this house will soon be mine”
I said.
“That means you have thought about the marriage proposal?
He asked with smiles.
“Yes that’s why am here,Carlos you are a good man so kind and lovely,I will be so happy to spend the rest of my life with you”
I said.
“That means you have accept to me marry me”
He asked with smiles.
“Yes Carlos,I will marry you”
He hugged me and said,
“Thank you for accepting me in your life,I promise to love you forever”
“You know what, no time to waste we are coming to your house tomorrow to fix the marriage”
He shouted.
“Yeah! That will be so glad,I need to go and inform my family to be prepare for tomorrow”
I shouted and stood up.
“I need to tell Mother this great news”
He said.
We both went downstairs,
“Mother must be in her room,take care and see you tomorrow”
He hugged me as I made my way out.
I got home and gathered everywhere at the sitting room.
“My beautiful and lovely family I have a great news to share to you all”
I said with smiles.
They are stared at me with smiles and their ears itching to hear the good news.
“I have accepted to marry Carlos”
I said.

Grandma said.
Aunt Anne looked rejoicing that finally she has won the deal.
“Carlos and his family will be coming tomorrow to fix the date for the marriage”
I said.

I said with smiles.
“That means we have to start preparing,cook all kind of food”

“No need of cooking Aunt beside it’s not a big occasion it just to fix the date for the marriage and nothing more”
I said.
“Still it doesn’t matter,our in laws are coming tomorrwo so we have to cook for them”
She insisted.
“Aunt fixing marriage date isn’t a big deal beside it’s only Carlos and his mother that will be coming and she told me we should not bother ourselves In cooking”
I said.
“Anne we can forget about the cooking since they are only coming for the marriage date,our chef Reina will prepare a tasty and sweet snacks for them”
Grandma said to her.
“Okay,Reina you know the type of snacks you will make right?
She asked.
“You got nothing to worry about concerning that one”
My family was so happy,excited and rejoicing that I will be getting marry they even celebrated it.
The next day being the day they will be coming,we got everything ready waiting for them.
I was at the kitchen getting the snacks ready and Aunt Anne walked up to me.
“Reina,what happen? You told me to give a week that you gonna find something against Carlos but the week has not runs down,what change your mind?
She asked.
“Nothing change my mind,as you keep on saying that am not gonna find out anything so I got tired of searching and gave up”
I said.
She laughed and sounded,
“That’s mean I won the deal! I told you Carlos is a good man and he will be a great husband to you”
I laughed and said,
“Aunt don’t rejoice too much okay because is still yet to happen”

She asked confusingly.
“Just wait and see for yourself”
I said and took the snacks out to the dinning.
Fifteen minutes later,they came we exchanged a pleasant greetings.
“Am so happy that our daughter Reina will be getting marry into this humble and respected family”
Aunt Anne said with so much joy.
“Words are not enough to express how I felt when my beautiful Reina accepted my proposal,I love her so much that am willing to spend the rest of my life with her”
Carlos added with smiles and I stared at me,I gave him a fake smile.
My family shouted in joy with their heart filled with so much happiness.
Vero tapped me and whispered with smiles,

“For the a month now we have come to know you and we have realized you are just a great,kind,lovely and humble man,we got nothing to worry about in giving our Reina to you as a wife because we know you will love and cherish her”
Uncle Rafael said with smiles.

“I have given my full support for Carlos to marry my grandma,he is a perfect gentleman and he will take good care of her”
Grandma Lolita said.
“It’s my great honour for my son to be getting a wife into this family,a family of disciplinarian and kindhearted people,I promise to you all you won’t regret having us as an in laws”
His Mom said as they shouted in joy.
“Now that the both families has accepted the marriage proposal I think is time to fix the date for the marriage”
Aunt Anne said.
“Yes,we have to fix the date for the marriage”
Uncle Rafael added.

I said as their eyes went down on me.
I stood up and said,
“Before we proceed for the marriage date I will like my Grandma to ask this young man his real intentions towards me and this marriage too”
They all stared at me being so surprised and confused at the same time.
I know that,what will be going through Carlos and his mother’s mind will be,”Why did she say that? could it be she find out something about us?
Carlos stood up and came to me,
“Babe why did you say that? Don’t you know my real intentions towards you?
He asked and his face looked so worried.
“I just want to know where this marriage will be leading me to that’s why I want Granny to ask you the plans you have for me after our marriage”
I said.
“Or is it a bad thing for my own family to know the plans you have for me?
I asked staring at him eye ball to eyeball.
“Since Reina want to know the plans you will have for her after marriage we her family will also like to know so Carlos tell us the beautiful plans you got my granddaughter”
Granny said.
He smiled and said,
“You all know that I love Reina so much that’s why I want to spend the rest of my life with her and my real intentions towards her is to help her to achieve her dreams of becoming a great chef and I promise to make her happy to death knock on my doorsteps”
I laughed and clapped my hands,
“Well down Sir! what an excellent speech!
I shouted causing confusion on everybody’s heads.

He asked confusingly.
“What is it Reina? Why that attitude?
Aunt Anne asked confusingly.
“This young man here that called himself Carlos Is nothing but a gold digger”
I shouted making them my family to be more confused.
He looked at his mother and turned to me,
“Why the insult babe?
He asked with pretence.
“Reina why did you call him that?
Grandma asked.
“Carlos and his mother are not who you all think they are,they claimed to be good and kind just to win everybody’s heart but they are nothing but a gold digger,their hearts is filled with evils,they are devils in a human body”
I shouted with so much anger.
“Reina what’s wrong with you? Have you gone nut or what?
Aunt Anne shouted.
His mother stood up and shouted,
“Enough of this insults! I won’t take this insults anymore,Carlos let’s go”
I laughed at the moment they knew I was about to expose them and they wanted to escape.
“Mrs Moses not to fast to escape I need to tell my family how you and your devilish son plan to get rid of my life after the marriage”
I shouted as my family became so astonished while Carlos and his Mother became scared.
“What are you saying Reina?
Uncle Rafael asked.
“Carlos don’t want to marry me because of love rather he want to marry me because of what he will gain this Audio record will prove to you all the type of people they are”
I shouted with the anger in me.
I played the Audio record for them,they became so shocked and dumbfounded,they couldn’t believe their two ears.
Grandma Lolita stood up from her chair and gave Carlos a soundly slap.
“You son of a devil! How dare you!
She shouted with so much anger.
They insulted,mocked and humiliated them,they left the house in shame and in anger too,he threaten to come back for me.
The whole place became so quite is as if an angel of God passed,my family became so astonished and heart broken too for trusting and believing Carlos thinking that he will be a good husband to me not knowing he was fooling them for his own devilish gain.
I went to the kitchen and prepared a lemon tea,I know it will help to calm them down,I gave the tea to them.
“It will help to calm you all down”
I said.
Sadness and angry were written all over their faces.
“Reina please forgive me for bringing such a man for you to marry without making a proper research about him”
Aunt Anne pleaded.
“It’s okay Aunt Anne,I know there was something bad about him from the first day I met him that’s why I refused to marry him and tried my possible best to prove that to you”
I said.
“Reina from now on I will never brought up marriage issue to you nor even bring a man for you to marry right now we will be focusing on how to achieve your dreams, marriage will come last when you are ready and your dream has been achieved”
She said.

I said and hugged her.
“Please my beautiful and lovely family let stop being sad and angry over what happened,thank God I was able to exposed their evil plans on time,let forget about them and throw them at the back of our mind and never remembered they were once exited in lives”
I said.
“Everything will be fine”
I said and as we all hugged as a happy family we were.

I walked in with so much anger in me walking around the place with a furious heart.
“She got the nerve to exposed me and insulted me I will surely deal with her”
I shouted angrily.
“Son did you seen the way they mocked and humiliated us,it was too much”
Mother shouted angrily.
“Mother I must deal with that family,I will make sure they suffer,Mark my word they must surely suffer”
I shouted and went up to my room.
I reached for cigarette lightened it and started smoking cooling down the anger in me with tiqulea.
“They insulted me,they won’t go free”
I shouted as drank a gulp of the tiqulea.
